Shownotes

Mike Hogan of KIOS 91.5FM, NPR's Omaha affiliate, reveals more about the person behind the voice on the radio. Hogan shares how the laughter and storytelling that epitomized his early family life inspired his own commitment to a life in radio, acting on the theatrical, television, and movie stages, doing live sport play-by-play announcing, and even becoming a stand up comedian, before returning to radio’s airwaves where, as well as being our local host of NPR’s show “All Things Considered” Hogan presents the “Live and Local” feature.

By joining the staff at KIOS as the local "Morning Edition" host in November of 2017, Mike Hogan’s radio career came full circle. His first radio job was with St. Louis, Missouri NPR affiliate 88.1 FM KDHX. In between Hogan was an actor based in Los Angeles, appearing in the movie “Stay Tuned” with John Ritter and on the television shows “Hearts Afire” and “Beverly Hills, 90210,” after which he became a play-by-play live hockey broadcaster, including an opportunity with the Omaha Lancers that brought Hogan to Omaha, where he met his wife of more than 24 years. Radio jobs over the years have been mixed with engagements in sales, IT Consulting, and stand-up comedy. Hogan now for KIOS is the Digital Media Coordinator and local host of NPR’s show “All Things Considered” and his own award winning “Live and Local” feature.
