The 75th edition of the Backyard Brawl found the Ubly Bearcats controlling the tempo of the game and in doing so, they secured their fifth straight district championship with a 35-14 victory over Harbor Beach.

Ubly scored on their first drive to go ahead 7-0, before their defense held strong and forced a turnover-on-downs at Ubly's own 8-yard line. The Bearcats responded by marching down the length of the field to go ahead 14-0. Altogether, Ubly would score on their first five drives of the night. Seth Maurer led the way for Ubly with 29 carries for 189 yards and three touchdowns. Evan Peruski, who started at quarterback for the first time in four weeks was 2-2 in passing for 63 yards, both to Brett Mueller. Mueller was a perfect 5-5 on extra points, putting him at 209 career PAT's, a new MHSAA all-time record.

Harbor Beach was paced by quarterback, Caden Bucholtz who ended up with 54 yards on 10 carries. He was 8-14 for 203 yards through the air with two interceptions and one score. Dustin Emerick hauled in 4 catches for 139 yards and the passing touchdown.

With the win, Ubly improves to 11-0 and advances to the Regional Championship where they will host the Ithaca Yellowjackets in Ubly, Michigan. Ithaca defeated New Lothrop by one point after kicking a field goal with just eight seconds remaining.
