Are You Following Moses or Paul?

“For the cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words; Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ.)” (Eph. 3:1-3)

In Part 5 of Ephesians 3, Warren Litzman continues to emphasize verse 2 by asking, ‘Have you heard of this dispensation of the grace of God that Paul clearly reveals that we are in NOW?’ He explains that a dispensation is a God-allotted time for Him to accomplish some part of His eternal plan. God’s dispensation of grace started with Christ’s death on the cross and ends at the rapture, when believers are taken up with Christ in the air to be with our Heavenly Father.

Most Christians today have missed what Paul is revealing here and are still living under the dispensation of the law of Moses, which says that we must do something or not do something to be pleasing to God. In this dispensation of grace, all who just believe in Christ as their Savior become new creatures, born again, with Christ as their new life. Christ IS our righteousness before God. We don’t stand before Him separate from Christ. That’s Amazing Grace!

Warren explains that in verse 3, Paul is saying he received this message from Christ by revelation. And we all must receive this revelation as well. Paul calls it the revelation of the mystery of Christ. He passes on the mystery to us so that we, too, will pass it on in this current dispensation of grace. We are no longer under the law but under God’s grace. This dispensation of grace supersedes any previous dispensation. By grace we are saved, not by anything we do (Eph. 2:5, KJV) “Even when we were dead in sins, (God) hath quickened us together with Christ (by grace ye are saved).”

Are you still living under the dispensation of the law delivered by Moses or are you living under the grace of God delivered by Paul, which was revealed to him by Christ, Himself? 

Paul says “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ” (1 Cor. 11:1, KJV). And Warren Litzman says, “I wouldn’t trade an ounce of grace for a bucket of law!” Would you?
