Shownotes
It is National Immunization Week, from 24 to 30 April. In light of this we decided to open the
chat about all things immunization, which gives us an opportunity to discuss and explore the importance of immunization in protecting and saving lives. Contributing to the discussion is Pumla Ntlabati SBC/RCCE Consultant for UNICEF South Africa.
In the podcast discussion, Ntlabati cannot emphasize more the importance of immunization for both children and adults as not only a means to survive, but also to thrive.
Evidence proves that immunization is the best action needed to protect people from vaccine-preventable diseases. An example of this can be seen during the peak of Covid where a great percentage of the world’s population was immunized against the virus and many peoples lives were saved.
Education and sufficient distribution of resources are necessary to inform a community and so that informed decisions regarding one's health and wellness can be made.
