"Don't withhold the things that you have from the world."- Wesleyne
Word of The Day
"When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things."- Mark 6:34
Mark 6:34-44 tells the story of Jesus feeding the multitude with five loaves of bread and two fish. From this passage, Wesleyne draws several valuable lessons.
Firstly, Jesus had compassion on the people, seeing them as lost sheep in need of guidance. Similarly, we are called to teach others about God's love and transformation.
Secondly, when the disciples hesitated to feed the crowd due to cost concerns, Jesus instructed them to give what they had. Wesleyne encourages us to reflect on what our "five loaves and two fish" might be—our time, money, talents, or expertise.
The message is clear: don't withhold your blessings from others. Trust God to multiply what you give. Just as Jesus multiplied the loaves and fish to feed thousands, He can use our generosity to impact countless lives.
At the end of the story, there were twelve baskets of leftovers—representing abundance and overflow. Wesleyne urges us to share our gifts and testimonies generously, knowing that God will provide more than enough.

But when Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things. By this time, it was late in the day. So his disciples came to him. This is a remote place, they said, and it's already very late. Send the people away so that they can go to the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat. But he answered.
You give them something to eat. They said to him, that would take more than half a year's wages. Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them? How many loaves do you have? He asked. Go and see. When they found out they said five and two fish, then Jesus directed them to have all the people sit down in groups on the green grass. So they sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties.
Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people. He also divided the two fish among all. They all ate and were satisfied. And the disciples picked up 12 basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. The number of men who had eaten was 5 ,000.
Mark 6 versus 34 through 44. I love this story.
Wesleyne (:This is a wonderful Bible verse that we can get so many lessons from. So one of the first lessons that we get from the sex is in verse 34, when it says Jesus had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things. So when we think of ourselves, we are all sheep.
without a shepherd if we don't have a relationship with God. But when we think about the people in our lives, if they don't have a relationship with God, they are sheep without a shepherd. And so our responsibility is to teach them. It's not to convict them. It's not to preach to them. It is to teach them who God is, the love of Jesus, how he has transformed our lives.
That is our responsibility as children of God. And then the next portion of this text really talks about how the disciples are like, wait, you want us to feed people? That's gonna take half a year's wage to feed all these people. Let's go tell them to buy their own food.
Would that be our reaction if we saw a lot of hungry people and we knew it would take half a year's wages? So back in biblical times, I don't know what their wages were, but typical person in at least the US makes at least 50 to $60 ,000 a year. So can you imagine saying, oh, here's $30 ,000 to feed a bunch of people that I don't know.
your reaction probably would have been the same. Like, I'm not sure about this, God. Like, how am I gonna pay my bills if I am focused on other people? So what Jesus wanted to show them is I will take the little that you have and I will multiply it. I just need you to have faith. So instead of saying, oh, we can't afford that or go let them figure this out on their own, God said, give me what you have.
Wesleyne (:They had five loaves of bread and two fish. That is all they had. What is your five loaves of bread and two fish in your life? What is the little that you are holding onto so tightly that you don't wanna give to someone? Is it your time? We hold onto our time. We treat it like a precious commodity. Is it your money? How about your expertise? How about the areas, the things that you
God has given you gifts and talents in that you are withholding from the world. That's your five lows and your two fish. Don't withhold the things that you have from the world. Literally what Jesus did in this text is he said, give me what you have, give me what you have and I'm gonna multiply it. And that's what happened. They said,
thousands of people. Can you imagine?
Your expertise, the gift that God has given you, feeding 5 ,000 lives.
Is that through you getting up on a stage? Is that through you praying for someone? Is that through you teaching someone? Is that through your generosity of giving? What is the thing that you are holding onto that God says, give it to me, give it to me and allow me to multiply it.
Wesleyne (:because the thing that you are holding onto and you're not allowing God to use, there are people in this world that are not being impacted by the gift God has given you. And at the end of the text, it says that when they were done eating,
Wesleyne (:There were 12 baskets of broken pieces of bread and fish, 12 baskets full. So imagine that, imagine that by the talent, the expertise, the insight, maybe the money, the whatever it is that God has given you, that you just gave it out, that you blessed other people and you saw,
at the end of a period of time that there was leftover. So you impacted 5 ,000 lives and those 5 ,000 lives were able to go on and impact other people. And there was so much impact. There was so much of you leftover that they had to capture it in baskets. And they had to say, man,
We receive so much insight, so many good things from this person and we've continued to sow these seeds and continue to share the messages with others that we are living in our overflow. That is what those 12 baskets represent. They represent your overflow. So don't just give, don't just hold on to the gift that God has given you. Don't just keep it to yourself.
Share it with others because people need to hear you. They need to hear your story. They need to hear your testimony.
Wesleyne (:I am so obedient in my walk with God right now that the people that I impact on a daily basis, it surprises me. I never ever, ever in my wildest dreams would have thought that I could impact so many lives on such a deep level.
This week, every single day, at least one person has told me I have changed their lives. And that's just five lives. There are so many people whose lives I've impacted. Impacted them as human beings, changed their insight, changed how they view themselves, changed how they.
Think about money or business or sales or leadership because what God gave me, my five loaves and my two fish, I don't keep to myself. I allow God to use it. And I see not only the impact, I see the overflow. I see the immeasurably more of those blessings. So don't hold on to your five loaves. Don't hold on to your two fish.
sit in prayer and ask God how do you want me to use the gifts that you have given me.
