Please remember that no episode of the MyoMinds podcast can be used as a replacement for medical advice and/or care.

Disclaimer - In this episode we talk about disordered eating, exercise addiction, and muscle dysmorphia which could be potentially triggering.

In this episode, I speak with Dr. Ieuan Cranswick who is a researcher and lecturer at Leeds Beckett University. Ieuan and I share an interest in muscularity and the reasons people (like ourselves) feel the drive and compulsion towards muscle-oriented behaviors. We frame the talk around a recent research paper he has had published called '"Oh take some man-up pills": A life-history study of muscles, masculinity, and the threat of injury'. Looking at the reasons people tend to be driven towards these behaviors and what happens when a barrier presents itself (e.g. injury).
