Humility in Leadership

Humility is a skill every leader can choose to learn!

Research has demonstrated that there is an association between higher levels of humility and stronger communities.

At the heart of humility there is an understanding that every step in the right direction can make a difference. 

Three steps to consider in your pursuit of humility. 

#1: Acknowledge that unless you have experienced it first hand,

·        you cannot fully understand the pain of those who suffer racial disparity

·        you cannot fully understand the pain of persecution among those of specific religions that are under attack

·        you cannot fully understand the pain of women and children generation over generation who have been sold into slavery

#2: Your humility deepens when you begin to humbly approach listening and learning. I have heard it referred to as “humility in learning”.

#3: The third step in your growth as a humble leader is to increase the intentionality of building the kinds of meaningful relationships that transform the way you connect with those you influence who have experienced challenges of enormous proportions.
