Kidney transplant survivor Jean Sime shares her journey through dialysis, miracle healing, and devastating COVID-19 loss.
Jean Sime’s story is one of resilience, heartbreak, and divine timing.
After being diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, Jean spent three and a half years on dialysis—fighting for her life. In the beginning, her thoughts went to a painful place: “I must be a horrible person to have been given this.”
Then came the anger.
Until one day, everything shifted. Jean realized she had a choice—stay angry, or be grateful for the medical technology keeping her alive and the life she could still live. She chose gratitude, and that decision changed everything.
In 2019, a living donor stepped forward, giving her a miracle: a second chance at life.
But that miracle was soon met with devastating loss.
In 2020, Jean lost her beloved sister to COVID-19, followed by the passing of her father just months later. Navigating profound grief while embracing her new life, Jean found strength in community, purpose, and faith.
Today, she is a multi-bestselling author, speaker, and organ donation advocate, using her voice to inspire hope and remind others they are not alone.
This is a story of survival, love, loss—and the light that can emerge from even the darkest moments.
