Shownotes

The Lord has absolutely guided every phase of this podcast. I am so grateful for the spiritual growth I have had and have been blessed with.

As such, in this new phase of I Can't (HE Can), we are starting the "Sound Mind" series. This new series embodies what my personal bible studies are like. I will study them on my own and then share what my "interpretation" and knowledge gained from them is. As stated: this is simply my interpretation. I am vocalizing what the living Word has said to me only. Kindly open up your bibles, follow along if you wish - but please ensure that you are always gaining your own understanding as well.

I am here to help you grow, but the Lord is the only one that can birth true knowledge and wisdom. I thank you for listening and following along in these Holy scriptures. God bless you, my friends.

Transcripts

Speaker:

All right, everyone, welcome

back to I Can, he Can.

2

:

This is episode 27 and I am so glad

that you guys are tuning in again today.

3

:

It is actually January 7th and

I am recording much earlier than

4

:

I usually do, so that you guys

get an idea during the week.

5

:

It's just.

6

:

Kind of crazy for me to record

anything for the podcast.

7

:

So I usually tend to record either

Saturday or Sunday, which I know

8

:

is not convenient because it does

put a little bit of stress on me,

9

:

especially if it's on Sundays.

10

:

Typically throughout the week I plan

and I pray, about what I wanna discuss,

11

:

especially if I don't necessarily have an

idea, about what to talk about because.

12

:

I mean, if I'm being honest, I

don't think I'm that exciting and

13

:

I don't have that many interesting

things going on in my life.

14

:

But there is always a lot to share from

Jesus and the Bible and God's word.

15

:

So there is a lot to always

talk about in that aspect.

16

:

However, for myself, it is a

little bit hard to sometimes

17

:

just sit here and ramble.

18

:

And I don't want it to just be about me.

19

:

This is to glorify the Lord.

20

:

So.

21

:

With that said, I am recording early

because this year so far we're seven days

22

:

in and I have had so many amazing, prayers

answered and, worries just kind of.

23

:

Roll off my shoulders,

if I'm being honest.

24

:

And these are just, you know,

decisions that had to be made,

25

:

things that had to change.

26

:

And not because anything negative

or anything bad happened per se,

27

:

but sometimes there are things that

don't sit well with your spirit or

28

:

things that can lead you down a path

that you just wanna leave behind.

29

:

You know, and if I'm being honest,

I really am trying to do better.

30

:

And when you're walking with Christ,

if you don't have that want to

31

:

evolve, to grow, to mature, to be

wiser, to actually exercise your

32

:

discernment, then what are you doing?

33

:

I'm like, really?

34

:

What are you doing?

35

:

Is that a true walk?

36

:

So there have been things for the past

few months in my life that I felt, not

37

:

were weighing very heavily on me, but

things back to back just kept pointing

38

:

to those wounds, per se, to those

wounds, for lack of a better word.

39

:

I kept feeling those things, and I

kept being nudged and I kept being.

40

:

I reminded of those

feelings that I had in me.

41

:

So it was finally time that I came to

the realization that I needed more.

42

:

I didn't wanna stay stagnant

and in order to continue to grow

43

:

with the Lord, in my opinion.

44

:

Of course, this is all my opinion.

45

:

If you want your prayers

answered, you can't just.

46

:

Sit around and wait for

your prayers to be answered.

47

:

There has to be some sort of action,

some sort of change that comes along

48

:

with the things that you're praying

for, because while we do have an

49

:

amazing God, we do have an amazing,

loving father who wants the best for

50

:

us and does want to see us happy.

51

:

He also wants us to learn and to

grow from things that happen to us.

52

:

So sometimes these things are just

here to make us stronger and teach us

53

:

lessons, and that is essentially the

process that I have been going through.

54

:

And even though some things may be

uncomfortable, I want to encourage

55

:

you today to really just hone in on

those things that keep tugging at your

56

:

heart and keep just pulling at you

saying, Hey, it's time for a change.

57

:

It's time to move on.

58

:

It's time to.

59

:

Take a step back.

60

:

It's time to move forward and make that

next move that's going to bring you

61

:

either closer to the Lord or just bring

you into the next phase of your life.

62

:

And with that said, this episode is

completely new to me in the changes

63

:

that I have been feeling, the things

that I have been doing in my life.

64

:

One of the things that really just

touched my heart in, in a heavenly way

65

:

is the only way that I can explain it,

was the other day when I truly felt

66

:

like I had an answered prayer and.

67

:

I have been praying for quite

some time for having a sound mind.

68

:

Now, if you follow me on social media, you

will know exactly what I'm talking about.

69

:

If you are a close friend of mine who

is listening, you know exactly what I'm

70

:

talking about because I have been rambling

about what this prayer is and why, but.

71

:

I have been praying and imploring

God to please give me a sound mind.

72

:

I am the kind of person who

always has something to say back.

73

:

I never want to just not have the

last word, and it's not because I am

74

:

argumentative, even though I can be.

75

:

but.

76

:

I always overthink, I always

overanalyze and I give myself anxiety

77

:

and it's really hard to not do

that when you don't have children.

78

:

It's really hard to not do that

when you are put in situations where

79

:

there's a lot going on around you.

80

:

And I feel like I have always been like

that since I was in my early twenties.

81

:

I don't think I was like that when I

was younger, but in my twenties I just

82

:

put myself in a lot of situations where

I was doing too much, too much and I

83

:

ended up just failing, falling flat on

my face and wondering why, you know,

84

:

the expectations that I had weren't

being met, and it's because I wasn't

85

:

seeking anything that was of God.

86

:

I'm paying the price now because now

I am trying to untrain my brain and

87

:

untrain my heart to not feel that way.

88

:

And I can only do that

with the help of Jesus.

89

:

And I'm very grateful, because through

prayer, through his word, through

90

:

his wisdom, through his knowledge

that he has left us in the Bible,

91

:

I, little by little am coming to

terms with the fact that I can do it.

92

:

I can have that sound mind, but

I can only get that through him

93

:

and through the Holy Spirit.

94

:

So with that said, I learned of a

song by, an artist named Melissa and

95

:

the name of the song is Sound Mind.

96

:

And funny enough, that song came up on

my playlist when I least expected it.

97

:

And I'm really grateful because

I never put a word to what I

98

:

was looking for for myself.

99

:

I just said that I wanted quiet.

100

:

And yeah, quiet is sound mind in a

sense, but I never interpreted quiet

101

:

as just my mind being silent, you know?

102

:

If that makes any sense to you guys.

103

:

However, when I listened

to this song, I never.

104

:

Caught a part in the end of the

song, where she says that this

105

:

is my inheritance, a sound mind.

106

:

And then she mentioned something to

the effect of, this is what Jesus

107

:

paid for with his blood, a sound mind.

108

:

And when we get a sound mind,

it's essentially the Holy

109

:

Spirit that's within us.

110

:

Like we have that in us, and we

can use that to our advantage.

111

:

And it's not to say that we can

just use and abuse the Lord.

112

:

No, that's not what I'm saying.

113

:

But we have the capability to tap into

the spirit and to call on him and use

114

:

what he left us with our inheritance.

115

:

Our inheritance is the Holy

Spirit, and it is a heavenly thing

116

:

that we have at our disposal.

117

:

So when I heard that I was in

worship in my car during lunch

118

:

on Monday, this past Monday,

119

:

but I was just praying.

120

:

I was praying to God and

I was asking for that.

121

:

And when I heard that one part

in that song, it just clicked.

122

:

It clicked that that

is exactly what I need.

123

:

That is exactly what I need.

124

:

I just need to use the Holy Spirit.

125

:

And it sounds silly because when

you're trying to make decisions that

126

:

can change a big part of your life,

you don't really realize how much.

127

:

You can use and call on the

Holy Spirit to help you.

128

:

You really don't.

129

:

Everyone thinks of God and Jesus,

but the Spirit, we have the

130

:

spirit closer than Jesus and God.

131

:

And I'm not saying that

He's not there beside us.

132

:

No, absolutely not.

133

:

He's always there and he's always present.

134

:

But when Jesus died on the cross

and he resurrected three days later.

135

:

He eventually left us with that

inheritance, with his spirit.

136

:

So why are we not using it?

137

:

Why are we not calling on the spirit

to help us, to guide us, to give

138

:

us the wisdom, the discernment,

the knowledge to open up our eyes?

139

:

Why are we not doing that?

140

:

And anyway, so when I

finally had that revelation,

141

:

man, I was so moved.

142

:

I opened up my Bible as my kids were

sleeping and I sat on my bed and I

143

:

was just, you know, I was probably

gonna go through like Proverbs or

144

:

Psalms or go back to Deuteronomy,

which I'm almost done with.

145

:

But I had my Bible marked on Ephesians,

and I have no idea why, because I have

146

:

a bunch of like little sticky notes and

tabs in my Bible of things that I've read.

147

:

And I don't have that marked, so maybe

I marked it at some point without

148

:

realizing, but I'm so glad that I did

because when I opened the Bible on that

149

:

particular page, it was right on the

first chapter of Ephesians, and the

150

:

first word that I saw was inheritance.

151

:

I could you not.

152

:

I was like.

153

:

Besides myself, honestly, I

started texting a few people and

154

:

I was like, can you believe this?

155

:

Like, I was praying about this and I

posted this on Instagram and look at this,

156

:

and I have the word inheritance right

in front of me and I can't believe it.

157

:

Yada, yada, yada.

158

:

And guys, I just felt so inspired.

159

:

I felt so inspired that I

started reading and man.

160

:

It really is a living word.

161

:

And mind you, I have learned a lot from

what I have read in the Bible, but nothing

162

:

touched me more, nothing spoke to my heart

more and moved me more than this read of

163

:

chapter one and Ephesians, and I know that

I have a lot of growing to do and I know

164

:

that I'm going to have that same feeling.

165

:

In the future, I know that I'm gonna

have that same feeling in the future, but

166

:

I feel like I truly followed where the

Lord was guiding me on that Monday as I

167

:

was praying and when I opened it, it was

just clear as day that I need that sound

168

:

mind and that decision that I had to make

and, these changes that I had to make in

169

:

my life, it, it was just clear as day.

170

:

I was on the right path because Jesus

wanted to give us peace and give us

171

:

rest in him through his sacrifice.

172

:

You know, he, he wants us to rely on him.

173

:

He came to serve.

174

:

He came to serve us.

175

:

And yes, we are also servants of the

Lord But Jesus came to show us what

176

:

a servant is and how he was going to

sacrifice himself for us so that then

177

:

we can be reconciled with the Father.

178

:

And I truly, truly

understood the meaning of.

179

:

Having that inheritance and having that

sound mind and using the Holy Spirit

180

:

to my advantage when I really need it,

and I really, really, really pray that

181

:

whoever is listening to this remembers

that you can also tap into that.

182

:

You just have to call on him.

183

:

The Spirit is within us.

184

:

The spirit is alive.

185

:

The Lord is alive.

186

:

This book, this holy book in

front of us that we open is alive.

187

:

We have to have that

faith and call on him.

188

:

That's all we have to

do, and he will answer

189

:

Sometimes the silence is also an answer.

190

:

But we just need to have that

peace of mind and knowing that

191

:

he is there and he is within us.

192

:

So without further ado, I am very excited

about this next series and I wanna make

193

:

it, a separate series to what I usually

do on the podcast, which is choose a topic

194

:

and discuss and tie it back to scriptures.

195

:

Which I love that, and

I'm not gonna not do that.

196

:

However, I have felt so inspired

and so moved and just illuminated,

197

:

really illuminated by the fact that.

198

:

I was spoken to so clearly, and I

just wanna share that with you guys.

199

:

please know I am very

new to reading the Bible.

200

:

I don't wanna steer anyone in the

wrong direction, anything that I read,

201

:

I am giving my interpretation of it.

202

:

Also using definitions and things that

are within the Bible that I'm reading.

203

:

I encourage you guys 150% to

grab your Bible, to open it and

204

:

to read it for yourself now.

205

:

please have your Bibles open.

206

:

I am human.

207

:

I am a person.

208

:

I am reading what is in front of me,

but you guys need to also learn how

209

:

to have the Bible speak to you because

just because it speaks to me in this

210

:

way may not be how it comes off to

you or how it speaks to your heart.

211

:

And I really, really, really, again,

hope that you guys open up your Bible

212

:

and then you'll do your own study.

213

:

So all I want this to serve is as a bit

of inspiration, for you guys to open up.

214

:

The living word and just go through

it and let it speak to you in

215

:

the same way that it spoke to me.

216

:

So without further ado, I am

reading the new King James version,

217

:

this is Ephesians chapter one.

218

:

So Ephesians is one of the

Apostle Pauls four prison letters.

219

:

I believe chapter one through four, is

the more theological part of Ephesians.

220

:

I'm only gonna read chapter

one and break it down with the

221

:

notes that I had from my study.

222

:

Paul describes God's work for salvation.

223

:

he also describes the work of the

spirit and sealing a believer, meaning

224

:

like once you receive the spirit,

that's your seal, like you already

225

:

have that heavenly gift within you.

226

:

And of course, the importance of grace

and faith in the salvation process.

227

:

So these are very, very important

if you are new to the faith.

228

:

I don't wanna get into too much of

the summary detail from the Bible.

229

:

So again, I encourage you

guys to go through that

230

:

yourself, do a little research.

231

:

I'm pretty sure that most Bibles

nowadays have the summary and how

232

:

to study the book specifically.

233

:

But again, it's very important that you

guys do that because I'm not an expert.

234

:

This is how it spoke to me.

235

:

Now I'm going to begin.

236

:

Ephesians Chapter one verse one, greeting

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the

237

:

will of God to the saints who are in

Ephesus and faithful in Christ Jesus.

238

:

grace to you and peace from God, our

Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

239

:

Blessed to be the God and Father of

our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed

240

:

us with every spiritual blessing in

the heavenly places in Christ, just

241

:

as he chose us in Him before the

foundation of the world, that we should

242

:

be holy and without blame before him.

243

:

And love having predestined us to

adoption as sons by Jesus Christ

244

:

to himself according to the good

pleasure of his will, to the

245

:

praise of the glory of His grace.

246

:

By which he made us

accepted in the beloved.

247

:

Now, that was verse one through six,

and in verse two, I actually have

248

:

Amen written by that because it's just

such a beautiful and brief prayer.

249

:

It says Grace to you and peace from our

God Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

250

:

Who doesn't want that peace?

251

:

Who does not seek just tranquility?

252

:

And what better way to get that

from, from God and from Jesus.

253

:

So we have to ask and seek that peace,

and we can only find that through Jesus.

254

:

Now, when I read verse three,

the first thing that really

255

:

stood out to me from that verse

is the words spiritual blessing.

256

:

In the heavenly places, verse three

says again, blessed be the God and

257

:

Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

258

:

So blessed is God, who is the

Father of our Lord, of our Jesus.

259

:

And then it says, who has blessed

us with every spiritual blessing

260

:

in the heavenly places in Christ?

261

:

what I'm understanding from this is

that God has blessed us with Jesus.

262

:

Whom Jesus carries all of the spiritual

blessings of the heavenly places, meaning

263

:

heaven and everything that is God.

264

:

So we were blessed with God in

human form, who carries all of

265

:

the heavenly things that God is.

266

:

How amazing is that?

267

:

Like honestly, we literally had a

walking God on Earth who was perfect.

268

:

Now in verse four.

269

:

It says just as, and I have

this all circled actually.

270

:

It says, just as he chose us in him before

the foundation of the world, that is

271

:

actually half of verse four, and I have

that circled because it says he chose us

272

:

in him before the foundation of the world.

273

:

So when I read that back, he chose us in

him before the foundation of the world.

274

:

I am understanding that.

275

:

He, God the Father, knew exactly what

was going to happen, what Jesus would

276

:

do and the sacrifice that he would

do for us, and God still chose us.

277

:

Before everything else in the world.

278

:

And then verse four continues and

says that we should be holy and

279

:

without blame before him in love

having predestined us to adoption

280

:

as sons by Jesus Christ to himself.

281

:

Okay?

282

:

Again, that made me a hundred

percent think like, wow,

283

:

God really always had this.

284

:

Part of his plan.

285

:

And I say that because verse five says,

having predestined us predestined, like

286

:

there was already something written out

for us that said that we would be adopted.

287

:

It says, having predestined us to

adoption as sons by Jesus Christ.

288

:

So we are the sons of Jesus

Christ himself, according to

289

:

the good pleasure of his will.

290

:

The good pleasure of God of his will.

291

:

Verse six, to the praise of the

glory of His grace, by which he

292

:

made us accepted in the beloved.

293

:

So God made us accepted

in the beloved Jesus.

294

:

So we were predestined for adoption

to be sons of Jesus for himself.

295

:

For God because it was the

good pleasure of his will

296

:

and to the praise of the glory

of His grace by which he made

297

:

us accepted in the beloved.

298

:

I have chills right now.

299

:

Honestly, every time I read this, I, I

get chills 'cause it's it's so beautiful.

300

:

It's so beautiful how all along.

301

:

We were in his plan and our

plan is to be back with him.

302

:

That's amazing.

303

:

Verse seven.

304

:

In him, we have redemption through

his blood, the forgiveness of sins

305

:

according to the riches of his grace.

306

:

That right there is

essentially what the gospel is.

307

:

We have redemption through

his blood, so we are forgiven.

308

:

Redemption.

309

:

We are redeemed.

310

:

We are forgiven through his blood.

311

:

Because of his death, because of his

sacrifice, the blood that he shed for us,

312

:

the forgiveness of sins, he became sin.

313

:

He took all our sin.

314

:

So there is forgiveness for our sins

according to the riches of his grace.

315

:

Again, remember, Jesus

is God in human form.

316

:

So this is through the riches.

317

:

Of his grace.

318

:

We are rich because we have

the grace of God through Jesus.

319

:

Wow.

320

:

I absolutely love that verse.

321

:

That's chapter one, verse seven, and

again, it says in him, we have redemption

322

:

through his blood, the forgiveness of

sins according to the riches of his grace.

323

:

Verse eight.

324

:

Which he made to abound towards

us in all wisdom and prudence.

325

:

It abound towards us.

326

:

Abound towards us in all

wisdom and prudence, meaning

327

:

he knew what he was doing.

328

:

He knew what he was doing.

329

:

And it didn't matter 'cause

it was coming for us.

330

:

That redemption through the

blood was going to be for us.

331

:

'cause we were, we were what?

332

:

Verse five.

333

:

We were predestined.

334

:

For that adoption through Jesus.

335

:

Verse nine, having made known to us the

mystery of his will, according to his good

336

:

pleasure, which he purposed in himself.

337

:

Now, that one took me a little bit

to understand, and again, this is,

338

:

you guys already know the drill.

339

:

This is my interpretation.

340

:

Verse nine.

341

:

Having made known to us

the mystery of his will.

342

:

So Jesus, when he was with the disciples,

he basically gave the disciples exactly a

343

:

play by play of what was going to happen.

344

:

He opened up the mystery of the

father's will to them, and we have

345

:

it here in the Bible, like we know.

346

:

We know what's going to happen.

347

:

And then it says, according to his

good pleasure, which he purposed in

348

:

himself, so God through his own pleasure.

349

:

He wanted us back with him so

bad that he sent us his son in

350

:

human form to be sacrificed to

then receive us back one day.

351

:

That is amazing.

352

:

Having made known to us

the mystery of his will.

353

:

His will was known through Jesus

according to his good pleasure,

354

:

which he purpose in himself.

355

:

Verse 10, that in the dispensation

of the fullness of the times, he

356

:

might gather together in one all

things in Christ, both which are in

357

:

heaven and which are on earth in him.

358

:

So the way that I would

describe dispensation is the

359

:

way that things were stewarded.

360

:

So in this time when it's talking about

361

:

That in the dispensation of

the fullness of the times, he

362

:

might gather together in one.

363

:

All things in Christ, to me, that is

discussing what the gospel is, how

364

:

the spirit is going to be essentially

distributed amongst the people, but.

365

:

I am understanding that because

it says both which are in heaven

366

:

and which are on earth in Him.

367

:

So he is essentially going to bring

all heavenly things and us the

368

:

earthly people to him in Christ.

369

:

before I continue to verse 11, I

wanna go back to this part in verse

370

:

10 that says that in the dispensation

of the fullness of the times, he

371

:

might gather together in one, which I

already read that part, but I actually

372

:

had to speak with David about this.

373

:

seek some sort of counsel

because I really had such a hard

374

:

time understanding that part.

375

:

That said the fullness of the times.

376

:

I wasn't sure if it spoke about, in the

time where the letter was, was written

377

:

by Paul or was it uh, before Paul's

time, or was it now, essentially after.

378

:

discussing my confusion and the context

of what I was reading, we came to

379

:

the conclusion that it is the age

that's to come, the full plan of God.

380

:

So let's read that again now that I

read that, that in the dispensation

381

:

of the fullness of the times, so when

all is said and done in the fullness

382

:

of the times, he might gather meaning.

383

:

God is going to gather together in one,

in one person, all things in Christ, both

384

:

which are in heaven, meaning the angels

and those that are already in heaven and

385

:

which are on earth, us in Him, in Jesus.

386

:

sometimes you know, some things

aren't going to speak to you as

387

:

clearly as you would hope, but.

388

:

It's always ask questions.

389

:

Always ask questions.

390

:

Always write things down.

391

:

Try and read around the text, see if

there's any footnotes or any definitions

392

:

that can help because we're not always

going to understand what's in front of us.

393

:

And sometimes, you know, we may read a

chapter, we may read a few verses, and the

394

:

next time we read them a year from now.

395

:

It's going to be completely

different and it's going to jump

396

:

out at us, um, in a different way.

397

:

And that's okay.

398

:

It doesn't have to be perfect.

399

:

What matters is that you actually pick

up the Holy Book and you open those pages

400

:

and you just let it speak to your soul

in whatever way it has to speak to you.

401

:

So let's continue on verse 11.

402

:

In him also, we have obtained an

inheritance being predestined according

403

:

to the purpose of him who works all things

according to the council of his will.

404

:

And yes, I am using my actual Bible.

405

:

I'm not going through, um, the

Bible app or anything on my laptop.

406

:

I'm actually reading from my Bible.

407

:

So you hear the pages.

408

:

Um.

409

:

But this is when I opened the Bible that

I had it, you know that I had it marked.

410

:

This is when I saw inheritance,

that's the first word in verse

411

:

11, all the way down there.

412

:

And the first thing that jumped

out at me was inheritance.

413

:

So in him also, we have obtained

an inheritance in Jesus.

414

:

We obtained an inheritance, a

spiritual blessing, the Holy Spirit.

415

:

The Kingdom of Heaven in Jesus.

416

:

We have all of these things.

417

:

we have salvation, we have redemption.

418

:

There was atonement.

419

:

There was atonement in

that sacrifice for us.

420

:

He took all of our sin in Jesus.

421

:

We find all things that are good, all

things that are heavenly, all things

422

:

God, my friends, all things God.

423

:

So in Him also, we have obtained

an inheritance being predestined.

424

:

It was already in our plan.

425

:

It was predestined according to

the purpose of him, the purpose

426

:

of the Lord who works all things

according to the counsel of his will.

427

:

God works all things according to his

own will because His will is perfect.

428

:

Verse 12, that we who first

trusted in Christ should be

429

:

to the praise of his glory.

430

:

Verse 13.

431

:

In him.

432

:

You also trusted after you heard the word

of truth, the gospel of your salvation,

433

:

in whom also having believed you were

sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.

434

:

Verse 14, who is the guarantee of

our inheritance until the redemption

435

:

of the purchased possession

to the praise of his glory?

436

:

Ugh, that is beautiful.

437

:

I'm gonna read from verse 12 again,

but I'm gonna jump in and kind of

438

:

give you my, my take on on these few

verses here that we who first trusted

439

:

in Christ so us, that we also trusted

in Him because of what he did for us,

440

:

should be to the praise of His glory.

441

:

we need to praise Jesus for what he did

for God's glory through that sacrifice.

442

:

Verse 13.

443

:

In him, you also trusted after

you heard the word of truth,

444

:

the gospel of your salvation.

445

:

So after hearing what he did for us

on that cross the gospel of Jesus, we

446

:

believe because it is the truth and it

is our salvation, it continues and says,

447

:

in whom also having believed you were

sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.

448

:

So those that believe in that gospel.

449

:

It's in that truth.

450

:

We are sealed.

451

:

We have that inheritance.

452

:

That's what it's talking about.

453

:

We have that inheritance and that

inheritance is the Holy Spirit of promise.

454

:

Verse 14, and I have this one

underlined because I love this verse.

455

:

It says, who is the guarantee of

our inheritance until the redemption

456

:

of the purchased possession

to the praise of his glory?

457

:

Again, inheritance.

458

:

And when I heard that song by Melissa

Helser Sound Mind, which was really

459

:

where this whole idea for this series

stemmed from, there is a line in that

460

:

song that says that Jesus basically

bought our inheritance with his blood.

461

:

So that sacrifice was.

462

:

A transaction.

463

:

It was something that he did in order

for us to get something in return.

464

:

And it was a brutal, brutal way

to be sacrificed and to die.

465

:

And he did it all for us.

466

:

All for you.

467

:

All for me.

468

:

So let's read 13 and 14 again

because it is just so powerful.

469

:

In him.

470

:

You also trusted after you heard the word

of truth, the gospel of your salvation,

471

:

and whom also having believed you were

sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

472

:

who is the guarantee of our inheritance

until the redemption of the purchase

473

:

possession to the praise of his glory.

474

:

Amen.

475

:

Amen.

476

:

Amen.

477

:

He is the guarantee of our inheritance.

478

:

Jesus is the guarantee of our inheritance.

479

:

Thank you Lord.

480

:

I'm going to read, verse 15 through

22 continuously, and then I'm

481

:

going to go back and, and jump in.

482

:

I want you guys to really.

483

:

Feel the verses, feel the scriptures

without that many interruptions.

484

:

And then I can go back and,

and dissect it a little bit.

485

:

So prayer for spiritual wisdom is

what these last few verses are titled.

486

:

So verse 15.

487

:

Therefore, I also, after I heard

of your faith in the Lord Jesus

488

:

and your love for all the saints.

489

:

Do not seize to give thanks for you

making mention of you and my prayers

490

:

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,

the father of glory, may give you the

491

:

spirit of wisdom and revelation and

the knowledge of him, the eyes of your

492

:

understanding, being enlightened, that

you may know what is the hope of his

493

:

calling, what are the riches of the

glory of his inheritance in the saints?

494

:

And what is the exceeding greatness

of his power towards us who believe

495

:

according to the working of his mighty

power, which he worked in Christ when

496

:

he raised him from the dead and seated

him at his right hand in the heavenly

497

:

places, far above all principality and

power and might and dominion, and every

498

:

name that is named, not only in this

age, but also in that widge is to come.

499

:

And he put all things under his feet

and gave him to be head over all things

500

:

to the church, which is his body, the

fullness of him who fills all and all.

501

:

Gosh, man, I love Ephesians so much,

and this is only chapter one you guys.

502

:

This is only chapter one,

but this is beautiful.

503

:

Beautiful.

504

:

Beautiful.

505

:

Absolutely beautiful.

506

:

Ugh.

507

:

I have chills again right

now just reading this.

508

:

It's, it is so good for the

soul and so good for the mind.

509

:

And so good for the spirit.

510

:

Thank you, Lord.

511

:

So verse 15 says, therefore I also,

after I heard of your faith in

512

:

the Lord Jesus and your love for

all the saints, Very simple, very

513

:

straightforward, 16 goes on to say,

do not cease to give things for you.

514

:

so after you hear the gospel, after

you hear what the Lord Jesus did,

515

:

do not cease to give thanks for you.

516

:

Don't stop giving thanks.

517

:

Praise the Lord.

518

:

Open your eyes every morning

and say thank you, God.

519

:

Thank you for your sacrifice.

520

:

Thank you for giving us your son.

521

:

And then 16 continues making

mention of you in my prayers

522

:

exactly what I just said.

523

:

You have to thank the Lord and say thank

you to him in your prayers, verse 17.

524

:

That God of our Lord Jesus Christ,

the father of glory, may give

525

:

you the spirit of wisdom and

revelation in the knowledge of him.

526

:

So of course, we have to have

thanksgiving when we're praying.

527

:

It's not just asking for things, but

these little actions of just being

528

:

grateful and saying, thank you for your

sacrifice, father, and all of these

529

:

things, we can then ask for wisdom.

530

:

For understanding, for Revelation,

for more knowledge of him,

531

:

because it's not just asking for

monetary things, for vacation and

532

:

for, you know, having patience,

which patience is amazing, right?

533

:

But we also need to ask for more

understanding of him because when

534

:

we understand God and we truly

have a relationship with him.

535

:

We will be more at ease.

536

:

We will know how to let things go

faster, and We won't be bogged down

537

:

by the things of the world because

we are going to have an understanding

538

:

of him and what he's doing for us.

539

:

So we are not going to be weighed

down by all the things that

540

:

aren't really gonna matter ever.

541

:

So it's really important to take that

into consideration when, when you're

542

:

praying it's not about the things that

you want, but it's about what Jesus

543

:

can add to your life just by being him.

544

:

By being your Lord.

545

:

It's amazing.

546

:

It really is amazing when you, when

you understand that and you seek it.

547

:

So verse 18.

548

:

The eyes of your understanding,

being enlightened, that you may know

549

:

what is the hope of his calling?

550

:

What are the riches of the glory

of his inheritance in the saints?

551

:

Again, like I said, us being

enlightened, having that understanding

552

:

are eyes being opened to what

the riches of the glory are.

553

:

So for example, like we, it's not about.

554

:

Like money.

555

:

It's not about gifts.

556

:

It's about him.

557

:

His glory, his peace, We should

pray to understand what it's

558

:

going to be like in heaven.

559

:

And if we can only come close to imagining

and knowing what that's going to be like,

560

:

then really the things that you want here

on Earth are not gonna matter at all.

561

:

And that's huge.

562

:

That's huge for how we live our life.

563

:

That is, that is an incredibly

important to understand so

564

:

that we can just live at peace.

565

:

It truly is

566

:

verse 19.

567

:

And what is the exceeding

greatness of the power.

568

:

And of course, yeah, just understanding

the exceeding greatness, how

569

:

big and how glorious, and how

powerful and how righteous God is.

570

:

Just trying to gain that

understanding through prayer,

571

:

asking for that spiritual wisdom.

572

:

God, help me understand how great you are.

573

:

Help me know and help

me love you even more.

574

:

God, show me your glory, Lord.

575

:

Show me what it is that

you want for me in my life.

576

:

Not the things that I want,

but show me what you want.

577

:

Show me your will, man.

578

:

That's powerful.

579

:

It's powerful.

580

:

If you pray like that, it

completely changes everything.

581

:

Verse 20, which he worked in Christ when

he raised him from the dead and seated him

582

:

at his right hand in the heavenly places.

583

:

And yes, that's where you really see

exceeding greatness and glory because.

584

:

God has the power to resurrect someone.

585

:

And he did that in Jesus.

586

:

He came down in human form and he

lived among people in those times

587

:

and, and he made miracles happen.

588

:

And the same way that he made

miracles happen, he endured the

589

:

worst of sacrifices and the worst

of pain, and he's the only one that

590

:

would've been able to endure that.

591

:

And just like that, he died and he

came back resurrected three days later.

592

:

In perfect glory.

593

:

Only God, only God can do that.

594

:

Verse 21, far above all principality

and power and might, and dominion and

595

:

every name that is named, not only in

this age, but also in what is to come.

596

:

Um, that is beautiful.

597

:

I love those words, principality

and power and might and dominion.

598

:

God is above all things.

599

:

God is above every single

thing in life, in the world,

600

:

in the universe, in everything.

601

:

There is nothing that He is not over.

602

:

He is hovering over us, holding us

in his hand, verse 22, and he put

603

:

all things under his feet, God.

604

:

Put all things under

his feet, under Jesus.

605

:

So there's God, there's Jesus,

and then there's all other things.

606

:

And he put all things under his

feet and gave him Jesus to be the

607

:

head over all things to the church.

608

:

So Jesus is a cornerstone.

609

:

He is the head of the church.

610

:

And who is the body of the church?

611

:

that's us, us humans,

us humans, us sinners.

612

:

We are the body of Christ.

613

:

The fullness of him, we are his fullness.

614

:

How are we?

615

:

His fullness?

616

:

We're his fullness because

we have his spirit.

617

:

So in a sense it's like there's a piece

of him in us, and once we come together,

618

:

once that time comes where we are reunited

with him, we are reconciled to the father.

619

:

He's going to be complete.

620

:

So I take that line, which is his body,

the fullness of him who fills all in all.

621

:

I take that as he's incomplete right

now because he left us with bits and

622

:

pieces of him, and those bits and

pieces are more powerful than anything

623

:

we will ever experience in life.

624

:

Yet he gave us those little pieces of him.

625

:

He left us with that.

626

:

with that inheritance, with that gift.

627

:

How beautiful.

628

:

He did that for us.

629

:

I'm gonna read 22 1 more time and

we're gonna call it a day, and he put

630

:

all things under his feet and gave

him to be head over all things to

631

:

the church, which is his body, the

fullness of him who fills all and all.

632

:

My friends, it has been a pleasure

reading Ephesians chapter one for you.

633

:

I have loved breaking it down and

giving you my interpretation of it.

634

:

I pray that you guys will go back,

read it for yourself, whichever

635

:

version that is that you have.

636

:

Remember I have the Neo King James

version, but whatever version you have,

637

:

I pray that it'll speak to you the way

that it spoke to me, and I pray that as

638

:

we continue in the Sound Mind series, I

hope that it does amazing things for you.

639

:

I hope that it.

640

:

It takes you on a different route in

your walk with Christ, and I really

641

:

hope that your eyes and your spiritual

mind are opened to what it is that he

642

:

has in store for you in this Holy book.

643

:

I thank you guys for listening.

644

:

I love you all.

645

:

God bless you, and I'll

see you again next week.

646

:

Take care.
