Transcripts

📍 You know when you have massive inspiration and you write 14 captions and three emails and outline a launch and plan an offer, and then you're writing the high until the crash hits and you shut down and you avoid everything and you wanna hide for three days. Today we're talking about how to stop this pattern from occurring.

If you stick around to the end, you will listen to a 62nd recording of a mistake that I made recently doing my own trauma healing work. That threw a trigger that was coming up, through this new stage in business for me. And, I wrote about it in the book and the lesson that I learned by returning to the book, uh, 'cause yeah, it's a really common mistake and we all fall into it. 📍

This episode comes because I so recently created the academy, and so I've got more women inside of this group program. I've got more one-on-ones and, I noticed in myself and then in one or two clients and then in more clients that they get into this, cycle. And we did an episode on the burnout and a DHD cycle, if you haven't listened to that.

I'll link it down below so you can listen to it again because it's a little bit, it's a little bit similar.

However, this is really speaking to that creative cycle and we get into this pattern where we get really, really excited about something. Oh my God, I'm so excited. And you get that buzzing inside and you're like, yeah, yeah, go, go, go, go create, and it feels amazing. Clarity, drive, flow. But if you haven't learned how to mitigate your come down from that spike, you will crash and you will.

Enter into what we call in polyvagal theory, a dorsal vagal state. That's this shutdown, this disconnection, this numbness. In Ayurveda, we look at this as like, you've got a lot of KA in your system. Your Vata burnt out. Your pitter burnt out. You know it, everything feels heavy. You stop showing up. You wanna just like escape for two days.

You watch Netflix, you feel like a failure. You eat a lot of chocolate. It's this cycle. Urgency, output, collapse, shame, freeze silence, and it can create another cycle, which is procrastination. Shame, procrastination, not getting results because I'm procrastinating, feeling more shame about the fact that I'm procrastinating not getting results or feeling like I have no energy to do something and, not getting results and then feeling bad about that.

It's just a cyclical thing. It's, it's not even a problem, it's just something that we need to be mindful of. And so what we have been doing inside of the academy is looking at within different people's bodies, in different people's business businesses, how to respond to natural rhythms. Not a planner rhythm, not the rhythm that says like strategy post every day, and then go to the gym and relax because you're supposed to relax, but like your body's rhythm because you might, particularly if you're female and you have different hormones every day, what feels like a fair amount of output?

On Tuesday, on Friday, you might be able to do either a lot more or a lot less. Now, if you are having a day where maybe you're ovulating or you're just really excited and you really are aligned and you're like, yeah, this is so good, and you try to stop your energy from producing and creating and doing too early, then you.

Are at risk of actually collapsing into that same burnout and dorsal vagal state and collapsing into feeling heavy all the time because you stopped that natural flow of energy and creativity. Nothing got to come out. You kind of cut yourself off. It's like, it's like you wanna have an orgasm, but then like you, at the end, you're like, they just like don't let you.

And you're like, what, what? And you like, I don't know, you're frustrated. It's annoying. However, if you are also. Going the other way where you like write a really big to-do list, and you're like, okay, this is all the things I'm gonna do today, but for some reason, maybe you didn't sleep well. Maybe you're luteal in your phase, in your menstrual phase.

Maybe there's a lot of emotions processing through your body. Maybe you got triggered by something that your best friend did and your body's holding that maybe you didn't even realize it, but like three years ago on that specific day, somebody important to you had passed away and you're just holding that energy then you're not.

You're not gonna be able to do the to-do list in the same way. So there are a couple of things that we can do. Number one, you need to increase your capacity to really understand what's happening inside of your body and distinguish the voices of fear and should versus alignment. And number two, we need to create rhythm, things that are predictable, safe, sustainable, consistent and confident.

And that is going to support your. Your business and then. Number three, we need to match your rhythms with what your business needs for rhythms. And we can do this through containers. So first of all, number one is like understanding your rhythms. Inside of the academy, we teach the awareness exercise, which increases your capacity to understand like the nuances of what your body needs and how to meet those needs.

You understand when do I have more energy? When do I not? What is draining my energy? What do I need to have more output? Um. What does my body actually need? So we do this through regulation. It's like, okay, like when do I feel like my energy is going up and forward? Okay, well does this task, is it better if I'm kind of more leaned back when I'm doing it?

Or if I feel like I'm in really admin mode, well, how can I make that work? Right? And then inside of your business, you're gonna need to identify what. Rhythm your business needs. 'cause the thing is like it's external to you and they have a community with it. And if your community doesn't experience from you, um.

Predictability or confidence or, like I think really predictability and safety. It's your community's gonna really struggle to, to trust you and have a secure attachment with you. So they're externally looking for consistency and predictability and safety. And that says to a total stranger, like, this person shows up consistently and predictably, like, I'm, I feel safe with them.

We're looking to create a business where you show up in that way, and we're also looking to create a lifestyle for you where you can show up predictably, sustainably, consistently, and then convert into sales based off of what your body needs. So there are two things here. What does my body need to have Consistent energy.

And I'm not saying like, don't go on your creative. Um. Thing. I just, I literally just did it for three hours. Like I've just been like in creation mode for three hours. It's been so fun. And I'll like schedule things out and so I don't feel like I need to be in creation mode later, later on. That's one way you can do it.

So observe that. But I would really encourage you as well, like when you do notice, you go into that creation mode, you need to counterbalance it with, rest. And completely disconnecting before you are exhausted. So I would recommend not using 100% of your energy, especially if you are like a projector or a non sacral in human design.

Just use like 80% of your energy, and then disconnect and wind down and really focus on grounding. I had a client and all we did was make sure that she had a warm bath and put her feet on the ground and that stopped her. 'cause she, you noticed that she'd got into these like creative cycles and then she would.

Exhaust herself on the weekend. So we are focusing on not using all of the energy up. Keep some for yourself. Allow your body to feel, oh, I actually have more than enough energy for my work. Allow yourself to feel having more than enough an abundance of energy. Do the things that are exciting and then regulate.

We're looking for things that are, grounding and nourishing and warm because if you're in the creative. Phase you're doing things that are, like a lot of energy up and out, and it's really fast thinking and it like, go, go, go, go, go. So we need to counterbalance that. And then once you know more about what you, how your body and mind works, it's okay.

What is the container? Not like. Calendar or schedule, what is the container that my clients or my future clients need to learn about my work in a way that makes them feel that they can trust me? How do I remain consistent? So a lot of the time it's just what's the bare minimum I can do? And if I can do extra cool and I plan it forward, but it's really what is the bare minimum.

Because I think the most successful entrepreneurs, we, we don't end up being the ones who push the hardest. Or at least the ones that are happy and healthy are not the ones that push the hardest. So the ones that learn to dance with their body's capacity and meet their business' needs. So you're not crazy, you're not flaky, you're not lazy.

You are, you need a system that honors your nervous system because when you do, then marketing is magnetic and it's all easy and it all flows. Content is consistent, and you feel. Successful. So if this has you nodding like, yes, this is me, please make sure that you listen to the, the, burnout and A DHD podcast.

Consider joining the academy. We are gonna take all of your creative fire and pair it with nervous system intelligence and apply this all to your business so that it's sustainable and not stressful. Help you break burnout patterns, build a rhythmic, regenerative strategies, and feel safe being seen, visible and consistent.

And, yeah. That is all below. Additionally, stick around for one more second because I'm gonna share with you a quick video on how not to go about healing work and one of the biggest mistakes that people make, and I recently made myself. 📍

You know, that moment where you think, if I could just be more regulated, if I could just be better at stress management or more creative, or more innovative, or heal my inner child, then I would have more money, be more successful, be more abundant. I wrote this book, somatic Intelligence for Success. I have been having to remind myself lightly of this one.

Healing your nervous system and your trauma for the elimination of pain forever, or to make yourself more creative or whatever, or like better at your job is extraction. It is not love tender kindness, and it's actually going to create more dysregulation in your body. So here's the thing, yes, it will make your life easier.

You'll probably make more money and be happier, but that's not reason why we do it. And when you engage with this work from that place, not only is it ineffective, but actually think about like the tender in a child inside of you. That's cruel. Do not treat her that way.
