Honesty is Still the Best Policy – Wisdom Unplugged
Thank you for joining us for our 5 days per week wisdom and legacy building podcast. This is day 445 of our trek, and it is Tuesday and time for our 3-minute mini-trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom each Tuesday and Thursday. So, let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.
Today’s quote is from Napoleon Hill, who says, “Before us lie two paths — honesty and dishonesty. The shortsighted embark on the dishonest path; the wise on the honest. For the wise know the truth; in helping others, we help ourselves, and in hurting others, we hurt ourselves. Character overshadows money, and trust rises above fame. Honesty is still the best policy.”
This is the choice that we all have each morning as we begin our day…We can choose to be honest in all our interactions and transactions with others, or we can choose to be dishonest. We can choose the path of wisdom or the path of foolishness. You cannot travel two trails at once. You are either honest in all things, or you are dishonest in all. It is your integrity and your value system.
Whatever seeds we plant, we will always harvest an abundant crop of the same. Proverbs 11:3 tells us, “Honesty guides good people; dishonesty destroys treacherous people.” Yes, honesty is still the best and only policy if we would like to harvest an abundance of good for ourselves and those that we impact.
