Shownotes
EP 6 - Sougwen is a Chinese-Canadian artist and researcher, founder and artistic director of SCILICET a London-based studio exploring human & non-human collaboration.
Sougwen is considered a pioneer in the field of human-machine collaboration: exploring the mark-made-by-hand and the mark-made-by-machine as an approach to understanding the dynamics of humans and systems.
We speak to Sougwen ahead of their brand new exhibition "Relational Gestures" at the HOFA gallery in Mayfair to discuss the inspiration behind their new work, the techniques used to convey their ideas and the messages they hope to convey. We also discuss the challenges they've faced with live performances and how they feel art is bridging the gap between person-to-person and person-to-machine communication.
