Why is it increasingly difficult for kids from poor families to move upward in a society with little social mobility?

Based on a long term follow-up study that consisted of interviews with 107 young adults and their parents across America, this book uncovers various social issues brought about by a lack of social mobility. This is reflected in aspects of family structure, parenting, schooling, and community. In this age of inequality, equality of opportunity is becoming increasingly rare.
