 KEY TAKEAWAYS:

  • There are a lot of overlaps between business and broadcast. Broadcast business teaches you how to be appealing, authentic, and genuine – which is more important than ever in business these days.
  • During a speech or interview, you usually only have time to convey one or two messages, so it’s important you know how to communicate what it is you want to share and do so in a way that people know exactly what you are communicating.
  • During the shut down, Jane pivoted her business to help people learn how to communicate effectively through virtual meetings and presentations.
  • Jane’s main motivation for starting her business is to help people become better communicators in order to succeed in life and their careers.
  • The most underutilized tool in communication is pausing in between thoughts. A pause makes people sit up and pay attention. And it makes your confidence level go up and people think that you are far more confident, even if you’re not.
