Pastor Glenn Germany: And
this is what I'm coming out to
2
:expose of what's taking place.
3
:What you're hearing is just one grant.
4
:I'm talking about there's billions
of dollars that's actually
5
:available for this situation.
6
:That some churches are getting
and they're being quiet about it.
7
:Hush hush.
8
:And it's sad that churches are being
about help that other churches can be
9
:getting because this is a continual
grant to that they're allowing
10
:us to have to provide security.
11
:Tony Tidbit: We'll
12
:discuss race and how it plays a factor
and how we didn't even talk about
13
:this topic because we were afraid.
14
:BEP Narrator: A Black
Executive Perspective.
15
:Tony Tidbit: Welcome to a Black Executive
Perspective podcast, a safe space where
16
:we discuss all matters related to race,
especially race in corporate America.

your co host, Chris P.
19
:Reed.

32
:Check them out.
33
:And today we want you to check out a
familiar face, Pastor Glenn Germany.
34
:is here again to discuss the ongoing
impact and recovery efforts at
35
:Jesus Dwelling Church following
the tragic shooting incident.
36
:We'll explore the community support
received, the essential ministries
37
:needed in today's churches, and the
work undertaken since that incident.
38
:Additionally, we'll delve
into the challenges and
39
:disappointments faced along the way.
40
:Recognize those who have provide
significant support and discuss the
41
:new security funding opportunities
available through FEMA, as well
42
:as the church's new mission and a
folk for focus on safer and a more
43
:resilient future Pastor Glenn Germany.
44
:Welcome back to podcast, my brother.
45
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Thank you.
46
:Thank you.
47
:I appreciate you having me once again.
48
:I don't feel like I've been going too
long, but I feel like I'm at home.
49
:Thank you.
50
:Chris P. Reed: So Pastor Germany, since
you've been gone, give us a brief, you
51
:know, overview of how has the family been?
52
:And has the congregation
been since we last spoke?
53
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Uh, the family has
been well, you know, I think everybody for
54
:their prayers that went out for my family.
55
:Everything's coming along.
56
:We've done a lot of in house
counseling because of the lack
57
:of support that we did get.
58
:It was an opportunity for many
organizations to come in and
59
:actually show care and show love.
60
:And there was a lot of lack of them areas.
61
:But to God be the glory,
we're coming along well.
62
:Tony Tidbit: Well, pastor Glenn, thanks
a lot for that update, buddy, but we're
63
:definitely want to hear more about what's
been going on and what the future holds.
64
:Are you ready to talk about it?
65
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Yes, I
66
:am.
67
:Tony Tidbit: All right,
let's talk about it.
68
:Chris P. Reed: Okay.
69
:Before we get too deep into it,
let's look and remind people who
70
:may have been under a rock of what
happened in your congregation or with
71
:your congregation some months ago.
72
:So let's play that clip.
73
:So what you just witnessed was some
harrowing video from a Facebook live
74
:stream of the Uh, church service.
75
:But for those listeners who may not have
seen the video and are listening from an
76
:audio perspective, can you recount what
happened at that point in time for us?
77
:Pastor Glenn, in your perspective?
78
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Yes, it was
just another normal Sunday for us,
79
:you know, we wasn't expecting that and
it's just a another day I'll proceed
80
:to be speaking life over people's life
and here a man came into the sanctuary
81
:in order to take my life You know, he
said he was called by God to do it He
82
:was dealing with mental issues and by
the time I really took notice of him.
83
:I was staring at the barrel of his gun
84
:Chris P. Reed: So, so what, what
has been the impact of that?
85
:Because that wasn't the only thing and
you would hate, I hate the fact that
86
:that could be the end of your story.
87
:Um, obviously on this earth, but also not
just the issue that happened, but the,
88
:the incident that occurred afterwards
or lack thereof response has cascaded
89
:into your tail as we move forward.
90
:So can you give us a little bit of
that impact on your congregation
91
:and how you guys are doing now?
92
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Yes, it was
one event that exposed a lot of, um,
93
:injustice, you know, and it's just many
areas where, um, where we just wasn't
94
:served correctly as a people, you know,
the lack of, um, uh, medical services
95
:that was provided at the time, the lack
of police support who actually, you
96
:know, took a long time to get there.
97
:And then afterwards, the lack of
services that was provided for us.
98
:You know, in the healing process, you
know, it's sad to say, to be honest
99
:with you, I'm more upset right now,
or, um, the least thing I'm upset about
100
:is the young man pulling the gun out.
101
:I'm more upset about the aftercare
than I am at a man pulling a gun.
102
:Now that's sad.
103
:Tony Tidbit: No, buddy, that is sad.
104
:And, and number one, I'm really sorry.
105
:You would think in these type of
tragic incidents, the community will
106
:galvanize together around you and
it seems like that didn't happen.
107
:What type of support did you receive?
108
:Pastor Glenn Germany: That's easy.
109
:None.
110
:. .
Chris P. Reed: It's a one word.
111
:Tony Tidbit: So, so, so you didn't get
that, that community outreach locally?
112
:Uh um, federally as well?
113
:None.
114
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Zero.
115
:Nothing.
116
:None.
117
:Tony Tidbit: Nothing.
118
:Pastor Glenn Germany: None.
119
:No.
120
:It was one interview that I'd
done that was on, I think it
121
:was CNN, that I got a phone call
from a gentleman down in Florida.
122
:The name of his company is
called, um, Secure Tech Services.
123
:group.
124
:Um, they're out of Florida.
125
:He was the one who actually said,
look, I'm going to get you some help.
126
:One man put a whole movement in motion.
127
:And so I give big props to him
for making that phone call to me
128
:and reaching out and making sure
the proper people get contacted.
129
:His name was Rico Reed.
130
:Tony Tidbit: And what type
of, what type of, what type of
131
:help was he able to, to supply?
132
:Pastor Glenn Germany: He got me in
touch with the Department of Justice.
133
:And once the department of justice
stepped in, then the ball started rolling.
134
:Chris P. Reed: Cool.
135
:And I think that, you know, first
of all, that's a blessing and
136
:we talk about mysterious ways.
137
:So from tragedy to triumph, let's get into
what has actually transpired since then,
138
:because it's gotten way bigger than your
Facebook live stream and some videos,
139
:and it's taken almost an international
flavor at this point in time.
140
:So let's play a clip of something that
happened on the, uh, the house floor.
141
:News Reporter: Tonight, Senate Majority
Leader Chuck Schumer announced millions
142
:of dollars in federal funding for places
of worship to boost their security.
143
:The National desk, Jeff Harris explains.
144
:News Reporter 2: That is
400 million to be exact.
145
:That money is getting added to
the existing federal nonprofit
146
:security grant program to provide
places of worship like synagogues,
147
:mosques, churches with additional
funds to enhance their security.
148
:All they will have to do is then apply.
149
:During his announcement, Senate Majority
Leader Chuck Schumer noted that every
150
:place of worship is welcome to apply, not
just those who have experienced attacks.
151
:Senator Chuck Schumer: There are
ample federal dollars, a new 400
152
:million just passed last week, so that
synagogues, mosques, churches, and
153
:other houses of worship can apply.
154
:News Reporter 2: The funding can go
towards anything security related,
155
:cameras, fences, and even personnel.
156
:Thank you.
157
:Chris P. Reed: So, with your church,
proverbially being the straw that
158
:burnt the camel's back, obviously
other tragedies have occurred at other
159
:places of worship, but the timing on
that, your ability to speak up and
160
:speak out and with the new FEMA funding
available coming this August, how
161
:is your church planning to enhance?
162
:It's security and understand its
role in this magnificent opportunity.
163
:You
164
:Pastor Glenn Germany: matter.
165
:If I just back you up for a
second, just a little bit.
166
:And the word is that new funding, the word
is funding that was already available.
167
:That's the funny thing because
this funding was already available.
168
:Many churches already knew about
this funding that was available.
169
:And be honest with you, it's no longer
400 million, but it's actually 700
170
:million, and that's only one grant.
171
:And this is what I'm coming out
to expose of what's taking place.
172
:What you're hearing is just one grant.
173
:I'm talking about there's billions
of dollars that's actually available.
174
:For this situation that some churches
are getting, and they're being quiet
175
:about it, hush, hush, and it's sad that
churches are being hush, hush about
176
:help that other churches can be getting
because this is a continual grant to
177
:that they're allowing us to have to
provide security, help with having
178
:people in place of for security, not just
having cameras, but even you haven't.
179
:paid security, all these things training,
all these things was already in play.
180
:And now it's getting exposed by our
event because the simple fact that these
181
:things been already made available,
but people don't know about it.
182
:And now we're going to let
churches know about it.
183
:Tony Tidbit: So, so just so we're clear.
184
:So number one, thanks for that.
185
:But just so we're clear, the, this
money has been available for a
186
:while, but the majority of churches,
synagogues knew nothing about it.
187
:Is that what I'm hearing?
188
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Absolutely.
189
:Right.
190
:Absolutely.
191
:You're talking about 90, 95 percent
of churches don't know nothing
192
:about this money that's available.
193
:And a lot of times the churches that do
know, the lower churches, they're actually
194
:also applying but they're not getting it.
195
:And the, it's a competitive grant
as well, and don't get me wrong, but
196
:that's what we're going to talk about
in a second about how it is going to
197
:be made available and now the playing
field is going to be made even.
198
:Tony Tidbit: Wait a minute.
199
:So let's, but let's, cause
you just said something.
200
:So what you just said is that there's
churches that applied for the grant.
201
:You have these security measures and
even though the money is available,
202
:they didn't get access to it.
203
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Yes.
204
:Tony Tidbit: Right.
205
:And because it's a competitive grant.
206
:Is that what I'm hearing?
207
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Correct.
208
:All right.
209
:And when
210
:Tony Tidbit: you say competitive
grant, like what do you mean?
211
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Well, be
honest with you, it said, when I
212
:say competitive, because it wasn't
guaranteed that everyone would get it.
213
:And it was based upon circumstances
and situations, but still yet be honest
214
:with you is based on the who know who
and who know what, because the simple
215
:fact that these little churches, we
don't have the grant writers, we don't
216
:have, you know, we don't have the what
we need in order for us to be able
217
:to compete with these large churches.
218
:Uh, churches, we don't, one thing is
that's very important and it's said
219
:is that it's based upon language.
220
:So you got to know the certain
language and terminology they
221
:use in order to get the grant.
222
:If the language on your application
is lacking, you won't get it even
223
:though you need the security the most.
224
:So, but these larger churches
understand the language that is
225
:needed in order to get these grants.
226
:Tony Tidbit: Wow.
227
:Wow.
228
:So, so just again, thank you for that.
229
:So, You had somebody walk into your
church, pull a gun out, point it at you,
230
:and we all know the divine intervention.
231
:It didn't go off.
232
:Your deacon jumped in and you
guys were able to subdue him.
233
:Police didn't show up for 20 minutes.
234
:All right.
235
:You had to walk.
236
:I think when, when the police
did come, one officer showed up.
237
:You had to help the officer put
the suspect in the car, right?
238
:And then what I'm, and then there was
no other support that you've gotten.
239
:You've been on every media outlet and
you talked about, everybody wanted to
240
:see the gun being pointed at your face.
241
:And they were, how did you feel?
242
:And what would you think
about having a gun?
243
:But then after that died down, there has
been no other support except the brother
244
:in Florida that reached out to Rico,
if that was his name correctly, right?
245
:Right.
246
:And then he's the one that if
I'm, and I don't want to put
247
:words in, I just want to be clear.
248
:He's the one that told you about the
FEMA grant or the, uh, the ability
249
:to be able to access this money.
250
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Yes, he's the one
who made me well aware and when I say
251
:no support, you know, I really like me.
252
:I like to drop names and I'm sorry.
253
:I'm like that.
254
:But look, we're not, we're, we're pulling
the sheep, pulling the rug out, you know,
255
:the guy who actually sent us 3, 000 and
then it was Joel, Joe, Joel, we thank him.
256
:It was someone else.
257
:Another company sent us 500.
258
:We thank them.
259
:Other than that, there was a little
support of 2, 100 here and there.
260
:It didn't go over 4, 500.
261
:That's how much support we
get as far as helping us to
262
:do anything in the aftermath.
263
:Chris P. Reed: So at this point in
time, I realized that the one thing
264
:you didn't do was be quiet about
the tragedy of the lack of response.
265
:And you weren't casting aspersions or
pointing fingers, but you wanted answers.
266
:You demanded answers.
267
:And I think that your vigilance on that.
268
:Kind of highlighted the fact
that something needs to be done.
269
:So now you're on this, don't
hide it, divide it campaign.
270
:What advice do you have for churches
looking to apply for grants and have
271
:you gotten enough information now to
where you want to make sure nobody ends
272
:up in your situation in the future?
273
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Yes, and all
the information at this moment that
274
:I'm speaking to you, I don't have all
the information, but as we're going
275
:forward, I am being provided a hands
on experience where they are walking
276
:me through it step by step experience
is not the experience is not complete.
277
:Complete yet at this moment, but
they are walking me through it.
278
:And when I'm done, I'm educated
enough to understand it and grasp it.
279
:And I am going to walk everyone
who I have the opportunity to
280
:walk through it, through it.
281
:If I got to go to every church
personally in the United States and
282
:do this here, I'm willing to do it.
283
:Tony Tidbit: So number
one, that's awesome.
284
:My friend.
285
:I just want to make sure
that we're squared away from
286
:the grant standpoint, right?
287
:So there's money that's going to
be available, which when Chuck
288
:Schumer made this announcement
back in May, it was 400 million.
289
:You're saying now, because if I
remember correctly, based on, uh, the
290
:gentleman in Florida connecting you,
uh, the right connections, you were
291
:able to chat with Homeland Security.
292
:You were able to chat with
a bunch of other agencies to
293
:really understand the grant.
294
:So talk a little bit about that.
295
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Yes, right now.
296
:I'm on a phone call every
week from this point on.
297
:I'm doing some planning with
the DOJ Department of Justice.
298
:I'm on a phone call with them and
they are connecting me personally.
299
:And this is how it's
supposed to work with them.
300
:They're not allowed to promote themselves.
301
:They're not allowed to come on and say
anything, but they have to do the work.
302
:So they are personally with the DOJ.
303
:Connected me with each step,
making sure that I have the people
304
:in place that are able to help
making sure that this is funding.
305
:And once again, the way he
announced was only one grant.
306
:There is multiple grants and multiple
funding for these situations.
307
:And I'm learning that based upon
this situation, you can get help
308
:from many different directions.
309
:And that's what we're dealing with.
310
:You know, learning about the help that you
can get and being ready, made available.
311
:That's already available.
312
:Tony Tidbit: Wow.
313
:Wow.
314
:That is awesome.
315
:And then, so they're now
making sure that you're able.
316
:to partake and be able to get the
funding that you need for your church
317
:and its security so something like
this will never happen again, right?
318
:Is that correct?
319
:So let me ask you this though.
320
:Are, will they take away, because
you said a competitive grant, are
321
:they going to make it easy for you?
322
:for other churches, big and small, to
be able, who may not have, you know,
323
:language writers or grant writers, right?
324
:Because they don't have the
support or the access to that.
325
:Are they going to make it easy for any
church to be able to access these funds?
326
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Yes, they're
going to make it easy for every
327
:church to access these funds.
328
:And that's what we're having a big
summit and the Purpose of without contact
329
:you for is we're having a big summit.
330
:It's actually going to
be a monumental moment.
331
:It's going to be groundbreaking
because the simple fact that
332
:we're with coming in is the D.
333
:O.
334
:J.
335
:Is coming in.
336
:Department of Justice
is coming in F.E.M.A.
337
:Coming in.
338
:Homeland Security's coming in, the FBI's
coming in, the Governor's coming in,
339
:the, um, Lieutenant Governor's coming
in, the Mayor's are coming in, um,
340
:the chief of police are coming in, all
these different, uh, the senate, uh,
341
:governor, all these are all coming in
to the church, along with Crazy media.
342
:This media is going to be major.
343
:Then you got a hundred different pastors
from a hundred different churches.
344
:A hundred pastors from a
hundred different churches.
345
:They are coming in.
346
:And I just limited to a
hundred pastors at this time.
347
:Just so, you know, it don't
go too far out of hand.
348
:But they are going to have the people
speak to us and explain to us and tell
349
:us where the funding is, how to get the
funding, who we can contact to get help
350
:with the grant writing aspect of it.
351
:They're supposed to lay everything out
in plain English so we can be able to
352
:be able to compete with the other larger
churches that are getting funding.
353
:That is not, you know, doing one thing.
354
:I just gotta say this.
355
:One of the biggest ministries I
feel is missing in the church is
356
:the support of the smaller churches.
357
:I don't know how in the world that we
can take millions of dollars over to
358
:overseas and say we're helping the world.
359
:Where you don't want to help another
church because they don't believe in your
360
:doctrine or the exact thing which you
believe It just amazes me that you know,
361
:we believe all of us believe that jesus
is lord That's what makes us christians
362
:or makes us save you know But yeah It's
like we bicker over little issues when
363
:there's a greater issue at stake And here
you're willing to go feed the world who
364
:don't even believe in jesus Who don't
even believe in this, in your savior, but
365
:you're making sure that they have things,
but you're forgetting to take care of your
366
:own brothers and sisters in the faith.
367
:That just blows my mind.
368
:Christ said, do good unto
all men, especially those
369
:of the household of faith.
370
:So how can you look past issues like
this and continue to go do worldly
371
:missions where you're, you know,
you're missing the true understanding
372
:and what Christ came to do.
373
:He came to gather the people of God first.
374
:And then he actually said.
375
:You know, the dogs can eat from the crumbs
that fall from the children's table.
376
:So the focus is the people of
God, but that's a ministry that's
377
:lacking in the church today.
378
:Churches taking care of their churches.
379
:Chris P. Reed: I think that,
you know, obviously you've Been
380
:open to take up this mantle.
381
:Like you're not afraid at all
to speak your mind and represent
382
:your faith and your conviction.
383
:My question to you, interestingly
enough is I'm assuming from our
384
:previous conversation, nothing could
have told you when you was a young man,
385
:that you'd be preaching the gospel.
386
:Right.
387
:And then you got to preach the gospel
and you're doing the best you can.
388
:And you and your brother and your
deacons and all that, putting
389
:things together for folks.
390
:How do you feel like God has
prepared you for this next chapter?
391
:And what do you see as your calling?
392
:Cause this is another call.
393
:You got your first call.
394
:Now he didn't call you
on the cell phone, right?
395
:The first call probably on a rotary.
396
:He didn't call you on his cell phone.
397
:So now with this calling, they take
up this mission to enrich and empower.
398
:Other churches, other places of
worship through these opportunities
399
:that the government has for you guys.
400
:How do you feel like you're embracing
that role and where do you see yourself
401
:in the future as this ambassador?
402
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Right now?
403
:I believe it or not.
404
:And it's sad that people
would be like, really?
405
:But truly, I thank God
for where I was called.
406
:I was caught from a youth before
I actually started, you know,
407
:running away from the calling.
408
:I landed in prison, no different than
Jonah landing on a boat trying to run.
409
:I was in prison, but I thank God that I
received my calling while, while I took,
410
:here to my calling while I was in prison
because it's like being in an army,
411
:the army don't train you in the city
because they know all the distractions.
412
:They take you somewhere, take
you away and they train you.
413
:And so that's what happened to me.
414
:Prison was a place where I can hear
from God, where I can actually, um,
415
:you know, have the time to, to, uh.
416
:Be away from distractions, family, cares
of the world, you know, and just focus.
417
:And I was actually, for me real quick,
12 years of learning the gospel, uh,
418
:you know, and being a pastor in prison,
I actually was studying the Bible
419
:seven, eight hours a day, every day,
teach three Bible studies every day.
420
:So no, you know, that's like, Um, on
steroids, you know, learning on steroids.
421
:And so it really got me equipped
for what God was calling me into.
422
:And so I didn't learn from the churches.
423
:I didn't learn under all this hypocrisy.
424
:I didn't learn under, you know, seeing
how the division of churches is.
425
:I learned in a place where we didn't
care what denomination he was.
426
:We just wanted to help each other.
427
:And that's the type of
gospel I grew up under.
428
:So now to come home and see all
this going on, it just blows my
429
:mind of, you know, the way the
churches is towards one another.
430
:That just, uh, even if we don't agree,
there is something we do agree on
431
:and let's focus on what we do agree
on and let's get this work done.
432
:Chris P. Reed: So, so with him
being a deliverer and a promise
433
:keeper, do you never think why you,
or are you thinking why not me?
434
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Why not me?
435
:Okay.
436
:All right.
437
:I don't know.
438
:Seriously.
439
:The reason why and to be honest
with you is because I understand my
440
:relationship that I have with God.
441
:And I understand, you know, where he
brought me from and where he brought me
442
:through and I understand everything he
put in me and with everything that he
443
:put in me, once again, I'm talking about
somebody who fast, you know, periodically,
444
:a lot of times, seven days straight, no
food, no water, just seeking God, you
445
:know, no outside and nothing to bother me.
446
:You know, people like how you go
seven days without eating or drinking
447
:seven days before God was easy for me.
448
:I did it a couple of times, you know,
where I always fast before God, always
449
:prayed before God stayed in his presence,
always in the word of God, just learning.
450
:And so the question is, you
know, he was equipping me.
451
:I didn't know he was equipping me,
but he was getting me ready for
452
:what it is that I was going to face.
453
:When I came home and now that, you know,
for a minute, he had me stored away and
454
:it's his small community, small church.
455
:Now he elevated me to this plateau
and now he caught me into, you know,
456
:this didn't just happen by chance.
457
:This happened by God.
458
:Our church was called for
this issue and this happened,
459
:you know, by the hand of God.
460
:And now i'm taking hold of it and
i'm running with it and i'm doing
461
:the work that God will want me to do.
462
:Securing his churches, helping his
people, and uniting the body of Christ.
463
:Let's remove these differences
and let's come together.
464
:Tony Tidbit: Well, here's the
thing though, my brother, you know,
465
:and again You know, you're a man
of God, and rightfully, you're
466
:frustrated, rightfully so, right?
467
:Um, the things that you went through,
your congregation went through,
468
:your family, your daughter, right?
469
:Um, the mental stress, and then the
stories you just got finished telling.
470
:Okay.
471
:In terms of, you know, we're all supposed
to be out trying to help one another, but
472
:then not everybody, you know, shows up the
way they're supposed to show up, right?
473
:Here's the thing though.
474
:Guess what?
475
:Now you have that opportunity to show up.
476
:You're supposed to show up, right?
477
:God gave you that now.
478
:So right now, to be honest,
it's about now moving forward.
479
:It's about you.
480
:Just what you just got finished
talking about, about your ability.
481
:Now, God, see this, and
I agree with you 100%.
482
:You couldn't make this up.
483
:Okay.
484
:And if you look back at this,
where, you know, a couple of
485
:months ago, somebody walked in your
church and put a gun in your face.
486
:And the things that you went to,
but now the opportunity for you to
487
:help so many other individuals, so
many churches across this country,
488
:regardless of the denomination
that they fall, they fall under.
489
:That's a huge blessing.
490
:And now, and you were talking earlier,
so just want to make sure we're clear,
491
:because you were saying FEMA, and,
and DOJ, and FBI, and the governor,
492
:and the senator, and the police chief,
and a hundred pastors from churches,
493
:they're all going to get together.
494
:Where are they going to get together at?
495
:They're going to get together where?
496
:Pastor Glenn Germany: They're
all getting together at my church
497
:Tony Tidbit: at your
church at your church.
498
:Okay.
499
:So think about that though.
500
:It's been a tough journey.
501
:Don't get me wrong.
502
:And you, and you have every
right to be frustrated.
503
:Right?
504
:Nobody can take that away from you.
505
:But look where it's ending and look
how many more people that you're
506
:going to be able to touch, help,
and God willing, they'll never be
507
:in the situation that you're in.
508
:So that's right there, my friend.
509
:That's a huge blessing.
510
:You said everybody's coming.
511
:Only person I didn't hear
coming was the President.
512
:Okay.
513
:I mean, you got everybody showing up.
514
:Okay.
515
:So that's a huge blessing.
516
:My brother.
517
:Correct.
518
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Yeah.
519
:And I mean, to be honest with you, uh,
Tony, you know, a lot of people don't
520
:know the background of, you know, of
everything that I've been going through.
521
:I, I mean, I'm even back at work.
522
:You know, I work a full time job while
I'm doing all this ministry work, all
523
:this connecting with the DOJs, you
know, dealing with, uh, dealing with
524
:programs, speaking, you know, I wound up
in a hospital, people didn't know that,
525
:that I was in, I landed in the hospital
a couple weeks after, you know, from
526
:doing all the media interviews and, and,
you know, caring for the people, uh,
527
:I was lacking sleep, my blood pressure
was through the roof, I had to go in
528
:and I'm sitting in the hospital all day
trying to get my blood pressure down.
529
:And, and so don't get me wrong, you know,
I'm, I'm grateful and I'm up to the task
530
:and, you know, blood pressure higher.
531
:Now I'm going out here and do
what needs to be done because
532
:the people need the help.
533
:They need to understand, but I don't
think that they know that's what's really
534
:available and what's coming their way.
535
:Because each person who I named
the, um, each group, you know,
536
:uh, FEMA with FEMA comes grants.
537
:With, um, um, with, um, um, um,
homeland security, multiple grants.
538
:I mean, each group that's coming
in, then they're staking state and
539
:local grants is also available.
540
:Once again, all of this stuff is available
and the people haven't been getting it.
541
:And I'm taking on the task to make sure
that I learn it, you know, hands on that.
542
:I can go somewhere and give the
training for give understanding
543
:and help people, you know, and.
544
:Uh, I'm looking forward to being able
to do this, even if I got to work a
545
:full time job still, because I believe
that this is what I've been called into.
546
:And so I'm going to do
what needs to be done.
547
:Tony Tidbit: Okay, my brother,
I mean, that's awesome.
548
:So tell us a little bit as we close.
549
:Tell us where, where, number one,
when is this summit going to happen?
550
:And then number two, for the churches
and the pastors all across the country
551
:that's listening to this, this, this,
this, this episode, how can they tap into
552
:this and where it can tell us the steps
they need to do is it reach out to you?
553
:What do they need to do to start
activating their opportunity here?
554
:Pastor Glenn Germany: With the information
that I'm going to be able to give
555
:out, and if they're able to follow the
information, then, uh, um, excellent.
556
:If not, then my phone
:
557
:You understand where I'm going with this?
558
:I'm willing to help them.
559
:I'm going to give out as much
information as I possibly can.
560
:Help them as much as I possibly can.
561
:You know, it's going to be help,
this is coming up, this is not
562
:something that's a year away.
563
:This is actually coming to August where,
uh, we got a date that's not in stone
564
:yet because we're waiting to make sure
that the officials can be there, but
565
:we're setting the date for August 28th.
566
:That's the date that we're looking at.
567
:So this is right around the corner
of all these things happening.
568
:I have to limit it to how many
people could come at this point
569
:because it's just the aspect of
how much the church can hold.
570
:But like you say, this is groundbreaking.
571
:It's actually a monumental
moment for our church.
572
:I'm grateful to God to be a part of it,
and I want to make sure that any, any way
573
:that someone, once the information is out
there and once you start looking online
574
:or once you, you know, whatever it is, any
way that I can help, I'm willing to help.
575
:I'm even willing to train a team
of people so they can go forth
576
:and they can also help as well.
577
:So, and I, and my thing is with
me is if I help you turn around.
578
:Help somebody else and we can
get many more people help.
579
:It's not about money at this point.
580
:It's about let's get people help.
581
:Chris P. Reed: So, so let me
say this as we close it out.
582
:Um, with your campaign to
teach a man to fish, right?
583
:Like, you're not just feeding with
your campaign to teach a man to fish.
584
:How can a black executive
perspective help you do that?
585
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Well, I, I, I,
I, first of all, I'm grateful for y'all
586
:having this here interview by far.
587
:This podcast is major because this is an
opportunity for the information to get
588
:out to let people know what is coming.
589
:The people can actually, you know,
start trying to find out, you know,
590
:how to get this here because there's
time limits with the grants, but there
591
:are also different ones throughout
the year that you can apply for.
592
:And so y'all are doing an amazing
job just by having this here.
593
:interview, it gives people a chance
to hear about what is available.
594
:A lot of times we can't go
after what is available unless
595
:we know what is available.
596
:So you can only do what you know.
597
:So at this point, y'all are
doing an amazing job just being
598
:willing to follow this through.
599
:Tony Tidbit: Well, thank you, my brother.
600
:And, and, and look, At the end of the day,
we're, we're following your coattails.
601
:Okay.
602
:Uh, you know, you are willing to come on
and share and talk about this opportunity.
603
:And so we thank you and look, um, what
we're going to do is we're going to
604
:put your website on our, our episode.
605
:We'll follow up with you on any
information where people can tap into.
606
:Is that reaching out to you,
reaching out to whatever?
607
:So they'll have this information as well.
608
:So we can keep the ball rolling.
609
:And then, you know, after we're going
to definitely have you come back.
610
:Because we want to hear about how
many, let's go back to the fish, right?
611
:How many people you fed, all
right, you were able to feed,
612
:all right, with this grant.
613
:And then more importantly, my brother,
is just that we're so excited and
614
:happy that this turned out the way
it turned out, Pastor Glenn Germany.
615
:Pastor Glenn Germany: Amen,
I thank you once again.
616
:And just so you, I just want to say, look,
we're dealing with billions of dollars.
617
:We're not just dealing with millions,
we're dealing with billions of dollars.
618
:One grant alone is worth 700, 000.
619
:1, 000, 000.
620
:That's just one.
621
:And that grant has a address
or has a 150, 000 per address.
622
:That's how much someone can get
for that one grant per address.
623
:And so I just want this
information to be put out there.
624
:And once again, my only
desire is to get people help.
625
:We need to help.
626
:Nobody responded.
627
:I am not going to be what I hated.
628
:I'm going to be what I wanted,
and so, therefore, I want to help,
629
:I'm going forth to help people.
630
:And once again, I thank you for
having me, and may God bless
631
:you and your podcast as well.
632
:Tony Tidbit: Well, thank you, my brother.
633
:Pastor Glenn Germany, we really
appreciate you coming on and sharing
634
:this powerful message, my brother.
635
:We love you a lot, and
we'll chat with you soon.
636
:So I think it's now
time for Tony's Tidbit.
637
:And the tidbit today, and Pastor Glenn
spoke to it, Support is not just in
638
:the help we receive, but in the courage
we muster together as a congregation
639
:turning trials into testimony.
640
:And you heard that point blank
from Pastor Glenn Germany.
641
:The trial that they went through,
that they're going through, is now
642
:going to be a testimony that's going
to help so many other churches.
643
:So, again, we want to thank him for
coming on and sharing that powerful story.
644
:Chris P. Reed: I would like to remind
you guys to not miss out on this
645
:week's segment of Need to Know with Dr.
646
:Nsenga Burton, a black
executive perspective podcast
647
:weekly, uh, presents Dr.
648
:Nsenga Burton, who dives into timely
and critical topics that shape
649
:our local and global community.
650
:Remember to tune in to gain
deeper insights and understanding
651
:on issues that matter.
652
:You don't want to miss it.
653
:Tony Tidbit: Exactly.
654
:You don't, I'm telling you,
she already put it together.
655
:You do not want to miss this episode.
656
:Each week, each week is
known Need to Know Thursday.
657
:So check it out.
658
:So now we're going to go
into our call to action.
659
:This is something that we
want everybody to incorporate.
660
:Our goal here at a black executive
perspective podcast is to decrease
661
:all different, all levels of
discrimination across the board.
662
:So we're looking for everybody
to incorporate our call, our call
663
:to action, which is called less.
664
:L E S S and L stands for learn.
665
:You want to learn about people
that you don't know, different
666
:races, different nuances, so
you can become more enlightened.
667
:Chris P. Reed: And E stands for empathy.
668
:You want to empathize and
understand diverse perspectives so
669
:you can have a closer connection
to your fellow human being.
670
:Tony Tidbit: And after the E we have S
now, since you've learned and you have
671
:empathy, now you want to share what
you learn to your friends and family
672
:so they can become enlightened as well.
673
:Chris P. Reed: And our last S is for stop.
674
:You want to actively stop
discrimination and foster inclusivity.
675
:This will help you build a
fair, more understanding world.
676
:Let's do this every day and we'll
see the change that we want to see.
677
:At the dinner table.
678
:At the coffee shop, wherever, when you
see things not appropriate, you want
679
:to stop that person and correct them.
680
:Make sure that we practice less, L E S S,
our call to action, every chance you get.
681
:Tony Tidbit: Amen.
682
:Amen.
683
:So, again, thank you for tuning
in to another episode of a Black
684
:Executive Perspective podcast.
685
:You can listen to our podcast
wherever you get your podcasts.
686
:And don't forget to follow us
on our socials at LinkedIn, X,
687
:YouTube, Twitter, and TikTok.
688
:TikTok, excuse me, and Facebook and
TikTok at ablackexec for our pastor,
689
:for our fabulous guest, Pastor Glenn.
690
:And I said, our pastor, he is our pastor.
691
:So for our pastor, Pastor Glenn,
Germany, we want to thank him for coming.
692
:For the best co host in
the industry, Chris P..
693
:Reed, who keeps it real for the person
who's one of the top producers on
694
:the planet, Noelle Miller, who pulls
all the strings to make this happen.
695
:I'm Tony tidbit.
696
:We love you.
697
:We talked about it and guess what?
698
:We're out.
699
:BEP Narrator: A black
executive perspective.
