I'm the first son of Engel and Amanda Jones and the eldest of three brothers. I'm a student, a passionate music enthusiast, and a naturally extroverted individual who thrives on connecting with people. I genuinely enjoy engaging in conversations, meeting new people, exchanging ideas, and building meaningful friendships with individuals from all walks of life and around the world.
Music plays an important role in my life. As an acoustic drummer, I enjoy expressing my creativity through rhythm, bringing energy, enthusiasm, and passion to everything I do.
I'm also a podcast editor for #12minconvos, where I combine my creativity, technical skills, and appreciation for meaningful conversations to help bring inspiring stories and experiences to life. This role allows me to continue developing my skills while contributing to a platform that celebrates human connection and personal growth.
You can learn more about me and my journey here: Jahaziel Jones - #12minconvos.
Beyond academics, music, and podcast editing, I have a genuine love for dogs. Their loyalty, playful personalities, and companionship bring a special kind of joy and balance to my life.
I consider myself approachable, enthusiastic, and always eager to learn. Whether I'm behind a drum kit, editing a podcast, or having a great conversation with someone new, I believe every experience presents an opportunity to grow, connect, and make a positive impact.

Speaker:That's one, two, M-I-N-C-O-N-V-E-R-S.com.
Speaker:God chose for us to have a conversation with us, his creation.
Speaker:Our prayer is that this listening space brings growth and transforms your life forever.
Speaker:Praise God for you, Jaziel.
Speaker:It's a great pleasure to connect with you.
Speaker:What part of the world are you in today?
Speaker:I'm in Trinidad and Tobago.
Speaker:Jaziel, how did you come to meet Jesus?
Speaker:Well, I grew up in a Christian home.
Speaker:My parents and grandparents carried me to church often, and the relationship really began with the question my grandmother asked me, Jaziel, would you like to get baptized?
Speaker:And she went into depth what baptism means, and I was like, well yes, I would love to have this relationship with Christ, and I would love for it to be where I can go to someone and speak about all my troubles, all my achievements, and someone to thank day to day for protecting me and whatnot.
Speaker:When my grandmother asked me the question, I said yes.
Speaker:I got baptized, and I've been following Christ ever since.
Speaker:How old were you?
Speaker:15 at the time.
Speaker:Okay, and how old are you at the time of this recording?
Speaker:I'm 16 at the time of this recording.
Speaker:Okay, how has it been since being baptized?
Speaker:I've begun to see his hand in everything I do now, from the moment I wake up to the moment I rest my head in my bed.
Speaker:What is an example of how you've seen God show up for you?
Speaker:A simple thing as giving, giving something to my cousins or my brothers, I would see it come back most of the time tenfold.
Speaker:When I give, I always see that he's providing, whether or not I asked for something.
Speaker:So what is life like in Trinidad and Tobago?
Speaker:It's really warm.
Speaker:It's constant summer all year round.
Speaker:It's a really beautiful island.
Speaker:The beaches are beautiful.
Speaker:The people are wonderful, easy to talk to.
Speaker:Is there something that, as you're speaking, comes to mind that you'd like to share with us?
Speaker:What comes to mind is the food and the country.
Speaker:The food is wonderful, especially from my mother.
Speaker:What's your mother's name?
Speaker:My mother's name is Amanda Jones.
Speaker:Alright, so we're having this conversation.
Speaker:I'm your father and you are my son.
Speaker:It was interesting just leading up to what we've said so far, to switch the mic the way we're doing it because usually you edit the podcast.
Speaker:So for me, it's interesting looking at the time and seeing the time and wondering what next to ask.
Speaker:What is it like for you on the other side of the mic?
Speaker:Well, I'm a bit nervous.
Speaker:Really?
Speaker:Yes.
Speaker:I'm wondering what question is he going to ask next and how to answer it the best.
Speaker:And trying not to say ums a lot.
Speaker:What's the reason for not wanting to say ums?
Speaker:When listening to someone and you say um, it kind of breaks the focus that someone has when you're speaking to them or if someone is listening to you.
Speaker:After editing as many podcasts as you have for the 12 Minute Converse Jesus Believers podcast, what would you say is one thing that resonates the most with you from the conversations?
Speaker:I would say what resonates the most is when you choose to follow Christ, there's this fire editing certain persons.
Speaker:You hear this motivation to spread the word of God.
Speaker:Listening to them was so inspiring.
Speaker:I would say that would resonate with me.
Speaker:That fire on serving God.
Speaker:Whose profile are you looking at that has been on the podcast that immediately brings that thought to mind?
Speaker:I'm currently looking at Cassian Bellino.
Speaker:What is on the horizon for you, Jaziel?
Speaker:Well, I have exams next year.
Speaker:The exact exams.
Speaker:And then we have plans to travel across 193 countries.
Speaker:Are you excited for that journey?
Speaker:Yes, I'm very excited.
Speaker:What excites you the most about traveling to a place you've never been before?
Speaker:One, the sceneries and two, meeting new people.
Speaker:What happens when you meet new people?
Speaker:I would say I generally love speaking with people and connecting and hearing their point of views on the world and what goes on in their lives.
Speaker:Future you is listening to this conversation.
Speaker:Currently you're 16 and that means you'll be around 21 years old.
Speaker:What's a message you'd leave for future you?
Speaker:I would say Jaziel, keep on the track and stay focused.
Speaker:Follow God.
Speaker:Ask him in everything that you do.
Speaker:Ask him for guidance.
Speaker:I know that you're my firstborn son and at some point I will have to see you take off in a direction that is yours.
Speaker:Nevertheless, if we imagine that today was that day where we were separating.
Speaker:For example, you were taking an airplane to go to college and there's one story I asked you to share with me.
Speaker:What story would you share with me before we parted ways?
Speaker:The day I got baptized, I would say that when I went down in the water and I was pulled out, there was a sense of yes, it is done or a sense of relief.
Speaker:And I would say that if you're looking or still trying to make that decision, I would say pray to God and ask him, am I ready?
Speaker:And he will answer you and go from there.
Speaker:It's been an honor having this conversation with you.
Speaker:In closing, is there anything else you'd like to share?
Speaker:Thank you for having me and God bless you.
Speaker:God bless you as well.
Speaker:Jaziel, Angel, Jones, this is a pleasure, a treasure.
Speaker:Thank you for being on What is Inspired by 12 Minutes.
