Recipe for Peace at Thanksgiving Dinner
Thanksgiving is a time for friends and family to gather together, give thanks for the year's blessings and enjoy a scrumptious meal. Planning for thanksgiving can be overwhelming since there are many aspects to consider, but the most important is to share the light of Christ with your family. With careful preparation, thanksgiving dinners can be both memorable and God-honoring.
God has given us a light to shine and share with others. Sometimes, we may be tempted to force someone to receive Christ but that should not be the case. We should, instead, be patient and kind in our approach. If we are to share the love of Christ with family without hurting them, we must prepare our hearts for the task. We cannot be "a clanging gong or a clashing cymbal" (1 Corinthians 13:1) when we are sharing the love of Christ with our relatives.
Join today’s Therapy Thursday conversation with me, Lisa, and my friend Lidia Martinez as we share about how we can have a thanksgiving dinner that honors God. Know practical things you can do before, during, and after the dinner that glorifies God in people’s hearts.

Notable Quotes:
● To be the light means reflecting God’s light while being judgemental means dimming the light.
● When you spend time with God in prayer and His presence reading His Word, you will be wise and effective in shining the light to others without hurting those who have not yet accepted His abounding love.
● You have to receive mercy and love from God before you can extend it to someone else.
● We love others because God first loved us. It’s, therefore, inevitable to withhold the amazing love of Christ and not share it with others.
● If a thanksgiving family dinner didn’t go well as you had envisioned, do not blame anyone. Look at yourself in the mirror and take responsibility. Accept and allow God to work on you. He will give you unfathomable peace.
● The world has enough problems of its own. Let’s make our homes and dinner tables a safe haven. Let’s overlook things and extend grace and mercy to others.
