Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B: ,: Speaker B:It's a fresh start for all of us.
Speaker B:A new year that brings hope and possibilities, the promise of new beginnings.
Speaker B:And what better way to begin a new year than by committing to spend time each day in the presence of God through His Word.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:I mean, that's what it's all about.
Speaker B:So why this podcast?
Speaker B:Well, I'm so glad you asked.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:Because, folks, we are, you know, life gets busy, let's put it like that.
Speaker B:I get it.
Speaker B:Between work and family and everything in between, it can be tough to carve out time to read the Bible, especially to read it all the way through.
Speaker B:Now, most Bible reading plans that take you from Genesis to Revelation Requires anywhere between 30, 45 minutes, sometimes more, each and every day.
Speaker B:Reading 45 minutes to an hour every day to finish in one year.
Speaker B:Okay, Some people just can't do that for whatever reason.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker B:It feels like they're climbing Mount Everest or something.
Speaker B:But truthfully, many people start strong.
Speaker B:Their intentions are good, but they find it hard to keep up as the weeks go by.
Speaker B:Well, folks, that's where the 15 minute daily Bible Walk podcast comes in.
Speaker B:This podcast is designed for the average busy person who wants to grow in their faith but doesn't have hours to Dedicate to Bible study each and every day.
Speaker B:By committing folks just 15 minutes a day, you'll walk through the entire Bible in about three years.
Speaker B:Three years?
Speaker B:Good Lord, brother.
Speaker B:Well, think about it.
Speaker B:It's a manageable, sustainable plan to read God's Word from start to finish each and every day.
Speaker B:But it does take you three years.
Speaker B:Now you can jump right in and go ahead, do 45 minutes past.
Speaker B:Bob reads the Bible through for past 30 plus years each and every year.
Speaker B:Okay, I know how long it takes, believe me, I really do.
Speaker B:But that's why the Lord put it on our heart to create this podcast.
Speaker B:Just to be able to give you something from the Word of God each and every day.
Speaker B:So what's the inspiration behind this podcast?
Speaker B: ck to my childhood in the mid-: Speaker B:How's that sound?
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Just for one moment now.
Speaker B:I was about eight or nine years old sitting in the back of my grandparents car.
Speaker B:On the radio I would hear the voice of.
Speaker B:I found out was the late Dr.
Speaker B:J.
Speaker B:Vernon McGee, a faithful teacher of the Word of God.
Speaker B:His program at air for I believe was 30 minutes every day walked listeners through the entire Bible.
Speaker B:And it took him five years to go through it.
Speaker B:Okay, because he just didn't read the scriptures.
Speaker B:He shared commentary, he shared insights, life applications that made the Word of God come alive.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:And hearing him sparked something in me even at that young age.
Speaker B:Praise God for him.
Speaker B:Now I could sense the power of God's Word and I could sense the importance of making it a part of my daily life.
Speaker B:Although I ran from God for a while, I came back.
Speaker B:Praise God.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:And Dr.
Speaker B:McGee's example inspired me to begin reading the Bible cover to cover.
Speaker B:And I've done it.
Speaker B:So I've done it every year for over 30 years.
Speaker B:This podcast is my way of sharing that same life changing opportunity with you, but in a way that fits our modern, fast paced lives.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:It is so important to be in the Word and that's where this podcast will help you.
Speaker B:What can you expect from the 15 Minute Daily Bible walk?
Speaker B:Well, here's how the podcast works.
Speaker B:Number one, Daily Bible readings.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:Praise God.
Speaker B:Daily Bible readings.
Speaker B:Each and every day.
Speaker B:Every day.
Speaker B:I'll come on, I'll read a portion of scripture.
Speaker B:We're going to start January 1st with Genesis chapter one, verse.
Speaker B:Number one.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:Right in the very beginning.
Speaker B:In the beginning, that's where we're going to start.
Speaker B:The readings be sequential, taking us through the Bible right in the very Order that it's been written.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:12 to 15 minutes per day.
Speaker B:So each episode is only going to be 12 to 15 minutes long.
Speaker B:Each episode.
Speaker B:I said 12 to 15 minutes.
Speaker B:You probably have about 10 minutes of scripture reading.
Speaker B:Then I'll give a brief explanation before we close.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker B:It's the perfect length to fit into your morning routines, your commute to work, or even a quiet moment at your desk, or even at the end of the day, 10, 15 minutes a day, you can fit that in.
Speaker B:And occasionally there'll be reflections in there.
Speaker B:Because while this podcast is primarily going to be focused on reading the Bible, I'll occasionally share brief reflections or insights to help you understand the context and apply the scriptures to your daily life.
Speaker B:That's why I say maybe 10 minutes of reading and then two or three minutes of commentary.
Speaker B:Right?
Speaker B:But there's no pressure.
Speaker B:It's just progress.
Speaker B:Progress through the Bible.
Speaker B:This podcast is all about consistency, not perfection.
Speaker B:Right?
Speaker B:If you miss a day, don't worry about it.
Speaker B:Just pick up where you left off the next day or go back and read what we were talking about.
Speaker B:I mean, it's going to be so easy for you to do.
Speaker B:The goal is to help you develop a daily habit of walking with God through His Word.
Speaker B:That's what the purpose is of this podcast.
Speaker B:So why is it important to read through the Bible in a.
Speaker B:Well, not an entire year, but to read through the Bible?
Speaker B:Put it like that, you might wonder, is it really necessary for me to do that, Pastor Bob?
Speaker B:Well, first you get to know God better.
Speaker B:Praise God for that.
Speaker B:The Bible is God's revelation of himself.
Speaker B:By reading it, we learn about his character.
Speaker B:We learn about his promises and his plans for our lives.
Speaker B:Two, we get to build this.
Speaker B:This firm foundation.
Speaker B:Praise God.
Speaker B:God.
Speaker B:Because in this world that's filled with uncertainty, the Word of God is a rock solid foundation.
Speaker B:It's truth that you can rely on no matter what life throws at you.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:Praise God for that.
Speaker B:He that.
Speaker B:That is the solid foundation upon which we could build our entire lives, businesses, everything.
Speaker B:And number three, to help you grow spiritually, just as we need physical food for our bodies, we also need some spiritual food for our souls.
Speaker B:Can I get an amen there?
Speaker B:Daily reading of God's Word nourishes and strengthens our faith.
Speaker B:Now to experience transformation.
Speaker B:The Bible is not just a book.
Speaker B:It's living, it's alive, it's active.
Speaker B:When you read it with an open heart, folks, it has the power to change your life from the inside out.
Speaker B:Praise God.
Speaker B:I know Firsthand.
Speaker B:How true that is.
Speaker B:Hallelujah.
Speaker B: here's a fresh start now for: Speaker B: want to encourage you to view: Speaker B: Let's leave the struggles of: Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:Let's step out into a new year with the assurance of God's promises in our lives and that they're going to be active, they're going to be visible.
Speaker B:Not only will you know it, everyone around you will know it as well.
Speaker B:Right?
Speaker B:In Jeremiah, chapter 29, verse 11, God says, For I know the thoughts I have towards you, thoughts of peace, not of evil, to give you an expected end, to give you that hope that you've been seeking.
Speaker B:Right?
Speaker B: This, folks,: Speaker B:And there is no better way to start a brand new fresh beginning and a fresh new year than by committing to daily time, God's word.
Speaker B:And that's what we're going to be doing.
