Over the last two weeks, I have been spending time researching and learning more about the Survivor Benefit Plan aka SBP. As I was getting to retired, I had enrolled in this plan with no knowledge whatsoever of what it entailed. I recall asking the clerk at the administration office what this program was about. They had little to no knowledge they could provide. You will be surprised as to what this benefit is all about as well as how the funds are used/distributed.
