In today's episode of The Hero of the Hour Podcast, Mark B. Murphy has an insightful conversation with Bill Barrett, a partner at Mandelbaum Barrett law firm. Bill discusses the importance of having an entrepreneurial mindset when it comes to running a law firm.

Mark B. Murphy and Bill Barrett are close friends and colleagues who have been working together for over 35 years. Mark is the founder and CEO of Northeast Private Client Group and author of three books. He has set out to be a hero to entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial thinking people, and Bill has done the same. 

In this conversation, they discuss what makes a hero. Bill says his dad was the number one hero on his list and that he learned many life lessons from him that have been beneficial in his professional life. Bill believes it is a privilege to become an important part of a person's life. 

Bill reflects on the impact of his choice to become a lawyer and the conscious decision to work with small business owners and entrepreneurs. He started his career with the goal of working at a top 10 law firm in New York City, but found it unfulfilling as he realized they were helping mid-level vice presidents get bonuses. He also felt that at the high level of Wall Street, people were treated in a disposable fashion. Bill enjoys helping his clients and making a meaningful impact on their lives and businesses.
