Shownotes

Richard Whitehead is a double leg amputee sprinter who won gold and silver at the Rio Paralympics and a memorable gold in London in 2012. He's also worked across the world with humanitarian charities.

He talks about the tough year athletes have had during the last 12 months, both physically and mentally. And how many of his competitors across the world have suffered through lockdown, not having access to facilities and tracks.

Richard argues that the 2021 Paralympics is more about the human spirit than the results and that the movement and athletes have changed during Covid.

He hopes to be at the Games but is still searching for events to take part in with much of Europe under restrictions.
