Do Your Best – Wisdom Unplugged

Unplugged1-1024x609

Wisdom – the final frontier to true knowledge. Welcome to Wisdom-Trek where our mission is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.

Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1260 of our trek, and it is time for our 3-minute mini trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.

Today’s quote is from John Wooden, and it is, “If you make the effort to do the best of which you’re capable, I think that’s success.”

Do Your Best

Success is not a matter of whether you are the best but if  you are doing the best you are capable of doing. Each of us is blessed by God’s grace with certain talents, abilities, skills, and personalities to which we are accountable, but we do not all have the same types or measure. We are only accountable for that which God has given to us, but we are accountable before Him to use and manifest what he has granted to us.

This is clearly delineated in Jesus’s parable in Matthew [25:14]-30 about the three servants who were accountable for what their master had given to each one.  Each servant was only accountable for what they were given, not for what the other servants were given. So it is with our God-given talents, abilities, skills, personality, we are responsible to invest them wisely and to be successful.

The result of wisely investing what God has granted to us is told to us in Matthew 25:29, “To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.”

It is the “use it or lose it” mindset. Invest in what God has given to you, and He will allow you to expand and succeed. Everything that we do, should be done for God’s honor and glory. That is the definition of being a successful person.

1 Corinthians [10:31]

So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
