The Cult of the Plant Takes Over the Reptile Expo

Episode #161 of Daffy’s Round Table!

On this episode, I’m joined by Theo from Nature State and Abi from The Microverse. The three of us regularly vend reptile expos together under the name Cult of the Plant, and with the Ottawa Reptile Expo coming up, we figured it was the perfect time to sit down and talk about what actually goes on at these shows.

We get into the vendor side of reptile expos, what goes into preparing for a show, setting up our tables, and some of the things people don't necessarily see when they're walking around an expo.

Of course, we also talk about the upcoming Ottawa Reptile Expo, what each of us is planning to bring, what we'll have available for sale, and what we're hoping to find for our own collections.

We also get into the reptile hobby in general, plants, invertebrates, bioactive enclosures, and how all these different parts of the hobby come together at reptile expos. Plus, we share some of our experiences vending shows, talk about what makes a good expo, and discuss a few things people should keep in mind when buying animals and supplies.

This one is a little different from our usual episodes. Just three friends sitting around talking reptiles, plants, expos, and probably spending way too much money on the hobby.

If you're planning on coming to the Ottawa Reptile Expo, make sure to stop by Cult of the Plant booth and say hi! We'd love to meet you.

And even if you're not in Ottawa, there's plenty in this episode for anyone who's ever attended a reptile expo or wondered what it's like on the other side of the table.
