Speaker:

Come to the giddy up segment.

2

:

I'm thankful that you're here.

3

:

And today I was a little bit moved by

something and you know, I'm sitting

4

:

here in my stocking cap in my barn

with my little heater blown at my feet.

5

:

It is below zero.

6

:

So it's one of those cold days.

7

:

The sun is shining and it's

beautiful, but it was one of those

8

:

days where I wasn't really able to

get outside for, uh, Morning walk.

9

:

And so I decided to drive to the

community center and do a workout

10

:

class with some inspiring ladies.

11

:

So that was really fun, but on my way

there, I was listening to a really popular

12

:

podcast that I love, but it kind of got

me thinking and I was thinking about my.

13

:

own journey.

14

:

And you know that I am just saddling

up to the best time in my life, right?

15

:

It's like 40 and beyond ladies.

16

:

And as I was listening to

this, Fun podcast host.

17

:

She was talking about people pleasing and

she's got like a remedy and I actually

18

:

have her book, which I'm gonna love

reading about how to get over people

19

:

pleasing and just move forward and get

your mindset right and you know how

20

:

much I love self-coaching and how things

have evolved since I, you know, had my.

21

:

You know, since they spotted that

stage one, um, breast cancer,

22

:

uh, all good, all behind me, but

it changed my perspective a bit.

23

:

And so before that, I too always kind

of dug into that mindset and I do

24

:

believe it's so important and I believe

that it was a necessary first step.

25

:

I had a great coach that helped me

learn about mindset and how to change

26

:

it and how to self coach yourself.

27

:

But what I'm learning as I go through

this journey, and I'm actually writing

28

:

about it, and it's going to be, it's

going to take me a time, um, to get this

29

:

all written because I'm learning as I

go, but this is what I've learned so far.

30

:

The first step is learning about

your mindset and you can go back and

31

:

listen to my episodes, but we talk

about becoming aware of how we feel.

32

:

Go get your feelings wheel from LisaKosky.

33

:

com if you need it.

34

:

Being aware of it as a first step.

35

:

Being aware of your feelings is huge.

36

:

Then you go to, you know, what is

the thought behind how I'm feeling?

37

:

And that thought is like a belief.

38

:

So it's either like a story or

something you're telling yourself.

39

:

This is how I was coached.

40

:

And then I was coached

to change that belief.

41

:

And then my actions would follow,

which can work in some instances.

42

:

What I've found is it

can't work in all of them.

43

:

And that's because we have

to do a little bit more work.

44

:

I'm sorry.

45

:

It's not that simple.

46

:

I mean, it's simple in a way

that it can, this can improve

47

:

your life just to do this.

48

:

But as I dig deeper, I'm feeling even

better and learning so much more,

49

:

and I just want to share it with you.

50

:

So what I kind of discovered is as I'm

moving along my path here, I took a

51

:

course and this is in the show notes and

I highly recommend it by JJ Flazains.

52

:

She is so amazing.

53

:

Um, I took her course on core wounds and

she also has a mindset piece, which is

54

:

very similar to how I was self coach,

but she has a little bit different, um,

55

:

look inside into it where she looks at,

um, The feeling that we have is probably

56

:

the negative feeling that we have, or the

unwanted feeling is probably from a need

57

:

that's not being met and she'll walk you

through that coaching, which is helpful

58

:

too, but then what changed everything

for me, which was like the second step.

59

:

was her core wounds course.

60

:

And that's where you look at, you know,

how everybody's talking about like your

61

:

childhood and I've talked about it, um, or

even like things from when you're a baby.

62

:

And it's not even anything

intentional by your parents.

63

:

You can have the most loving, awesome

parents, but there's still things

64

:

that you can misperceive or, or, You

make up a story in your head because

65

:

you're tiny and you're smart for then,

and you're learning how to survive.

66

:

But when I did that course,

that stepped things up a bit.

67

:

So I was able to really look at, Oh.

68

:

This is where that thought's coming

from because you have to understand it.

69

:

And I think you have to know

where it's coming from and able

70

:

to enable you to address it.

71

:

And I know you heard me talk on

the giddy up section before where

72

:

I talked about Bruce Lipton.

73

:

Lipton, I'll put his book in here too.

74

:

And he talks about how to rewire your

brain or to really change your beliefs

75

:

that are there that aren't serving you.

76

:

Um, you need to be hypnotized and, you

know, we can't all hire a hypnotist.

77

:

So one thing that he said

was to make a recording.

78

:

So once you delve in, figure out what

your core wounds are and what the things

79

:

are that are really setting you up to.

80

:

You know, suffer a little

bit when you don't need to.

81

:

We want to feel joy in life.

82

:

When you learn what those really

are, then you can do a recording

83

:

and it kind of affirms you.

84

:

And if you put your little headphones

in and listen to it as you're falling

85

:

asleep, like one of them is I am.

86

:

Completely loved by God.

87

:

You know how important God is

to me, my father in heaven.

88

:

So I, you know, I say that and I believe

it and it makes me show up different.

89

:

There are other ones where, um, you

know, I think one is I can't rescue

90

:

anyone and I'm not responsible

for how other people feel.

91

:

I mean, there's all kinds

of them that I've dug into.

92

:

So step number two was

JJ Flazain's course.

93

:

The next thing that I

stumbled upon was NLP.

94

:

I'm not going to go into depth

on it now, but it's, I think it's

95

:

neural linguistic programming.

96

:

If you listen to Joe Rogan, when he talks

to Mel Gibson, he's got a little blurb

97

:

where he talks about, Hey, I stopped

smoking from a book that used NLP.

98

:

And this is how he described it.

99

:

He said the book.

100

:

Just like said the things that were

bad about, I think it said what was

101

:

bad about smoking and then it said, and

chapter seven, what's good about smoking.

102

:

And he said, you turn the page and it was

blank and somehow that rewired his brain.

103

:

And so I became very interested in this

and thankfully, you know, Marie Simpson

104

:

is my functional assessment expert.

105

:

I will also have her affiliate

link in the show notes because

106

:

I've been working with her as well.

107

:

But I reached out to her and I said,

do you know anything about NLP?

108

:

And she said, yes, I'm a practitioner.

109

:

So I started working with Marie.

110

:

And what I've found is that the core

wounds really got me there a lot, but

111

:

working with Marie has even stepped it

up more and I'm ready to just really

112

:

heal, but it has really, because of

the way she asked me questions, it

113

:

has really prompted me to know what I.

114

:

what the belief is and how understanding

how that belief really isn't true and

115

:

really getting in and reprogramming it.

116

:

Now I know this is not giving you

a heck of a lot of information, um,

117

:

about exactly how NLP works, but

that's because I don't really know.

118

:

I just know it's working for me, But

I am planning on going further and

119

:

maybe even getting certified because I

can see where it would be another tool

120

:

in my toolbox to help me help people.

121

:

Because, you know, this podcast

is about sharing what we've

122

:

learned and helping others.

123

:

And a lot of times we, you know, have

to go through a hard time on our own.

124

:

We can't always just go

by someone else's story.

125

:

But those stories have helped me even if

it's sometimes just on a surface level.

126

:

So that's what I was feeling like,

passionate about letting you know in

127

:

this little giddy up segment today.

128

:

So there'll be more to come on NLP

and I will, I promise you, I am going

129

:

to keep walking you through this

journey with me as I learn and grow.

130

:

I want you to too.

131

:

I want to suffer less.

132

:

I want to saddle up to the

best times of our lives.

133

:

Take good care.
