Heather will cover the various types of trauma in divorce. This is a critical role of a divorce team to prepare and recover from severely negative experiences of marriage and divorce so a woman can then move past the trauma, deal with the fear and know what to look for in her divorce.
The conversation touches on: The Role of the Psychotherapist and Trauma Specialist, what they add to a woman in the divorce process, and how a woman can learn how to move past the trauma.

Heather’s 3 actionable steps for divorcing and divorced women:
a. Practice self-compassion: have a conversation with yourself as if you were talking to a friend going through the same situation. Ask yourself what you would say to her, how would you support her?
b. Focus on self-care: physical, spiritual, social (get involved with an activity)
c. Engage in therapy for yourself/children

About this week's special guest, Heather Kent:
Heather Kent is a Registered Psychotherapist and Trauma Recovery Specialist with an expertise in PTSD, who helps restore healthy futures for her clients. She is the #1 Amazon bestselling author of the books Heal From Your Narcissist Ex and I Left My Toxic Relationship – Now What?, which use elements of her own story intertwined with clinically proven therapy modalities.

Following her passion for humanitarian work, Heather previously lived in the Dominican Republic, where she volunteered through Rotary International, and worked as a teacher for a baseball academy run by the former VP of the NY Yankees. She continues to be involved in regular humanitarian projects in the Dominican Republic through her local Rotary Club.
She loves travelling, highland dancing at international festivals, and exploring the outdoors in Ontario, Canada, where she currently resides.
