Welcome to Quest Happens, a slapstick new friendly actual play Dungeons and Dragons podcast where our players search for the meaning in their lives while suffering from never ending side quests. Will they ever find their own personal main quest? Or will they be cursed to wander the lands bouncing from quest to quest?
I guess you'll have to find out in Quest Happens. Previously on Quest Happens. Last you remember, e, you picked up a note that was dropped by one of the dads.
And do you remember what that note was about?
Nick (E'Louie):Was it coordinates?
Nick (E'Louie):No.
Nick (E'Louie):What was on the note?
Corey (DM):It was a note basically saying the. The Whiskerlands. It' time in two days.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, two days.
Corey (DM):Their time has come.
Nick (E'Louie):Yes, I remember thinking that and. And thinking that we were quite a ways out to get to the Whiskerlands.
Nathan (Stump):Oh.
Nathan (Stump):So mission accomplished. Good job. Time to go get reward.
Lauren (EZ):That's true. We do need to go get a reward. But I think we have some questions to ask. Yeah. And I roll for hugging.
Corey (DM):As you knock on the door, you hear from inside, just like, you're on my property. I have right to kill you if I need to. Okay, okay.
Nick (E'Louie):We don't mean any trouble now. I think maybe we' let you be and we'll be moving on now.
Corey (DM):As you like. You're like rushing to get up, but you realize you're making way too much noise trying to hurry up and get up and get back. Absolutely.
And by the time you actually get up to start heading back, you. You fumbled a little more than you thought you would. You thought you would just like hop right up and get going, you hear?
Corey (DM):Oh, hello, dear.
Nick (E'Louie):Are.
Nick (E'Louie):Are you okay?
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, he wants to take the note, hold it up to the flame, look at it in the light, see if there's anything there.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, I get it.
Nick (E'Louie):Yes.
Nathan (Stump):We need to go in the alleys, and the path we take in the
Corey (DM):alleys is right, left, left, straight right,
Nathan (Stump):straight, right, straight, right, left.
Nick (E'Louie):And then X.
Nick (E'Louie):Watch us. The spots.
Nick (E'Louie):The spots.
Corey (DM):You hear your window open up on the side of the door, and then you hear this voice say, what y' all looking at?
Nathan (Stump):Ah, window. Welcome.
Nathan (Stump):What's the name of our podcast?
Corey (DM):What a great introduction. It's called Quest Happens.
Nathan (Stump):There it is.
Corey (DM):Try it again. Try it again, Stump.
Nathan (Stump):Welcome to Quest Happens, a slapstick comedy D and D actual play podcast where our players do their best to find out who they are. And Corey's much better at this than I am.
Lauren (EZ):He did good. Good job.
Corey (DM):Goodness.
Lauren (EZ):Wonderful word.
Corey (DM):Thank you, Nathan. Well, hello everyone, and welcome back to the podcast. Yes, is Quest Happens. And we are here to make you laugh, here to make you think about life.
And thank you, Nathan, for the wonderful introduction to the show this week.
Nathan (Stump):Wonderful.
Corey (DM):How's everyone doing? How's. How's it been the past couple weeks?
Lauren (EZ):Bad, bad.
Corey (DM):Nice.
Nathan (Stump):You were sick.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah, I'm okay now.
Nick (E'Louie):Good sun shining today.
Nathan (Stump):Yeah, vitamin D. It's finally not like midnight at 5pm anymore.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Corey (DM):Oh yeah.
Nathan (Stump):It was actually light out when we came over here.
Nick (E'Louie):Awesome.
Corey (DM):Well, I am excited to get into this week's episode. I've been waiting to get back into this episode. I've had a lot of ideas and haven't really been able to settle on anything.
So we're just going to kind of
Corey (DM):wing this episode again tonight.
Corey (DM):I have a lot of ideas, but we'll see if we even come across any of them. All right, I'm ready to just jump right in. Are you all ready to jump right in?
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah. Yeah.
Corey (DM):Okay.
Nathan (Stump):Wait, wait, wait.
Nathan (Stump):Can I window person?
Corey (DM):Technically, yes. That is where we left off. So after you hear the window person from stump last episode.
Episode, you remember the window opening up and someone pick peeks their head in the window and you hear what y' all looking at?
Nathan (Stump):A window person.
Lauren (EZ):Yes, we're looking at a window person is what we're looking at.
Nick (E'Louie):Who's that?
Nathan (Stump):Don't know.
Corey (DM):Well, you all must be our new neighbors.
Lauren (EZ):Hello.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh man. Please.
Nick (E'Louie):He's like, ah, is your name Tom, by the way?
Corey (DM):It is not Tom. I am the friendly neighborhood welcomer of new people and good to see you.
Corey (DM):And what you all see, peering through the window, kind of holding himself up. You see a grayish goblin. He's wearing a bowler hat. He's got a nice button up shirt. You see suspenders.
You can only really see from the waist up from where he's sitting in the windowsill. Like he's got. He's wearing a monocle. Very clean and very dapper looking.
Nathan (Stump):This guy sounds amazing. I think I'm gonna really like this guy.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah, it's a fancy goblin.
Nick (E'Louie):I don't know.
Nick (E'Louie):He's a faking ass through a window.
Lauren (EZ):He was kind of creeping that he
Corey (DM):just opened up and just, you know, notice what you are doing.
Corey (DM):Notice you all were looking and because you were looking at the note last we left off and yeah, I stick
Lauren (EZ):my hand out to shake the hand of this person and I.
Corey (DM):So you walk over to the window.
Lauren (EZ):Yes, to him and, and I say, esmeralda Fitzmonster, how the heck are you?
Corey (DM):Ah, well, hello, my name is Krause Devon Kraus. Very nice to meet you.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, fancy.
Lauren (EZ):What? Oh, that's unfortunate.
Nick (E'Louie):Hello, Devon. I'm Eloi.
Corey (DM):No, Krause.
Corey (DM):Devon Krause.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, Devon Krause.
Corey (DM):No, Krause. Devon Kraus.
Nick (E'Louie):Krause.
Corey (DM):Yes, that's my full Christian name.
Nick (E'Louie):I misunderstood.
Lauren (EZ):Krause.
Nick (E'Louie):Devon Krause.
Nathan (Stump):It could not be easier, Louis. Just saying. Krause, Devon Krause.
Corey (DM):This one's got it.
Corey (DM):This big fella over here's got it.
Nathan (Stump):It's okay. These guys aren't as high society as you and I.
Corey (DM):You are speaking my language, yes?
Corey (DM):Yes, yes. Well, you are the new.
Corey (DM):The new people living on this block, living in this house.
Corey (DM):The.
Corey (DM):The last people that lived here didn't stay too long.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, what happened there?
Nathan (Stump):Why this place? Great.
Lauren (EZ):Is it cursed?
Nathan (Stump):Why leave?
Corey (DM):Oh, this is kind of the come and go house, you know? And the last people that were here there were maybe for a couple days.
Nathan (Stump):And this place come and go.
Corey (DM):People come and go at this place?
Nick (E'Louie):Yes.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, okay.
Lauren (EZ):Not the house.
Nathan (Stump):Okay, so Stumpkin gets a reasonable price on gas here.
Corey (DM):Or perhaps very niche joke, depending on what part of the country you live in.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, is that one of those Whoops.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay, this killing goes everywhere.
Nathan (Stump):Are they regional?
Lauren (EZ):Let's do a deep dive. I'll look. I'll Google it. Not.
Nick (E'Louie):Are you gonna cut all of this out?
Nick (E'Louie):No.
Nathan (Stump):We're so distracted today.
Nathan (Stump):Okay, so window. Divon Cross. Cross divan. Window guy.
Corey (DM):Close enough.
Nathan (Stump):Do you usually stay on the other side of window or ever come in?
Corey (DM):I don't know. Are you inviting me in?
Nathan (Stump):Of course. Stump already like you.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh.
Corey (DM):And like, by the time you finish your sentence, he's like. He's artian.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, very quick little guy.
Corey (DM):Very fast.
Nick (E'Louie):He's not a vampire.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, yeah.
Corey (DM):Yeah.
Lauren (EZ):You have to invite them in before they come in. Yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):Eloise says
Nick (E'Louie):around here Eloises welcome, little fella. Oh, no.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, no.
Corey (DM):Hello. I just.
Corey (DM):And he reaches his. Well, you're more closer to the goblin hide. So he actually looks down on you a little bit. He just reaches down.
Corey (DM):Hello. Very nice to meet you. What was your name?
Nick (E'Louie):My name's Eve.
Corey (DM):My voice completely changed, but that's okay.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah, yeah, I'm.
Nick (E'Louie):Your voice seems to go here in there. My name's Eloy. It's a pleasure to meet you.
Corey (DM):Very nice to meet you, too. What about you, very tall one? What's your name?
Nathan (Stump):Oh, my name's Stump.
Corey (DM):Ah, Nice and easy, Stump.
Corey (DM):I like that.
Lauren (EZ):Well, he's easy is my nickname. I don't think I Told you that. You seem nice and easy.
Corey (DM):Oh, well, now I know.
Corey (DM):Thank you. I'm good at getting information, apparently.
Lauren (EZ):Apparently. What are you doing here?
Corey (DM):I just came to welcome you.
Corey (DM):And you just kind of looking around. What's everybody's passive perception?
Lauren (EZ):Mine's 11, sweetie.
Corey (DM):11. Passive perception. Okay.
Nathan (Stump):I have a 12, sir.
Corey (DM):12, 12.
Corey (DM):Passive perception for Stump and Eloi.
Nick (E'Louie):12 12.
Corey (DM):All right, so we have a 12, 12 and 11. Perfect. Thank you. Okay.
Corey (DM):Just wanted to know.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, cool.
Nathan (Stump):Yeah, no, that's great. Everything's fine.
Lauren (EZ):What'd you roll there?
Corey (DM):I don't know what you're talking about. He starts looking around.
Corey (DM):This place is. Had a little bit of an update since the last time I was in here looking at it. I like the colors of the walls.
Corey (DM):The outside's lovely.
Corey (DM):It's never been yellow before, but it's. It's looking pretty lovely out there.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, yeah, this place is wonderful. The beds could use a little work, but everything else is very good.
Corey (DM):He looks over towards the beds and sees completely crushed.
Corey (DM):I'm assuming that's your bed.
Corey (DM):And he points to you, Stump.
Nathan (Stump):Yes, it was, but Stump, order new one.
Corey (DM):Oh, he must be nice, isn't he? He is a very big fella.
Nick (E'Louie):Yes.
Corey (DM):Anyways, I just thought I'd come and say hello and see is there.
Nick (E'Louie):Y'.
Corey (DM):All we're doing.
Lauren (EZ):Is there anything we need to know about this area?
Corey (DM):Oh, it's a very nice area. People are very nice and I. It's. Yeah, people keep to themselves and. Yeah, if it's. I don't really know what else to say. It's.
It goes along, it serves its purpose. You can get whatever you need here. There's really no need to leave tumble.
Lauren (EZ):What about donuts? Can we get donuts?
Nathan (Stump):Oh, good question.
Lauren (EZ):He said we can get anything.
Corey (DM):I've never heard of this thing called a donut.
Lauren (EZ):Maybe, maybe one day.
Nathan (Stump):Stump, listen. Do you know what apple is?
Corey (DM):Yes, it's one of my favorites, actually.
Nathan (Stump):Okay, so take your little goblin finger in your mind palace.
Corey (DM):And he like holds his fingers up to his temple.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, good. That help. Helps them to push your finger all the way through the apple. Have you done this in your mind?
Corey (DM):I'm doing it now. And it's a little tough, but eventually. Okay, that's sticking to the apple now.
Nathan (Stump):Yes. Now remove your finger.
Corey (DM):This is getting very perverted.
Nathan (Stump):I believe it's only beginning. Only add the sugar coating. Have you done this?
Corey (DM):I have not tried sugar on my apples.
Nick (E'Louie):No.
Nathan (Stump):Now you have a donut.
Corey (DM):So a donut is an apple with
Corey (DM):a hole in it.
Nathan (Stump):No, it is not.
Nick (E'Louie):What a wonderful exercise.
Lauren (EZ):This is worth the time. I think at some point you can be a local business owner and maybe open.
Corey (DM):Maybe your quest is to start the very first donut.
Nick (E'Louie):Maybe I think it's more of like a therapy thing where you listen to Stump try to tell everyone what ismr to take an apple and turn it into a donut and see what they react to.
Nathan (Stump):Imaginary apple cooking with Stump.
Lauren (EZ):Cooking.
Nathan (Stump):Devon Krauss, Window guy.
Corey (DM):Close.
Nathan (Stump):Where do you live?
Corey (DM):I live on the other side of Tumbill. Yeah, I live in some of the
Nick (E'Louie):bigger houses on the other side. And you've come back to our place here? Yes.
Corey (DM):There was rumors of a new group coming in in the next few days and so I had to come say hello.
Corey (DM):And he does another like very prestigious bow to you all.
Corey (DM):And he says, well, things. Things are settled in here.
Corey (DM):He's kind of just looking at everything.
Corey (DM):I have other matters to attend to. But don't forget the community dinners every Tuesday evening. They're full of lots of people. Everyone goes. Literally everyone in town meets in the.
In the city square and they have a big community meal together. You don't want to miss it.
Nathan (Stump):We can make more friends.
Nick (E'Louie):That sounds nice. Do they serve beer there? Oh, yes.
Corey (DM):Anything you can think of is that they serve it there. Maybe we could talk him into those apples with a hole in it and
Corey (DM):pour sugar on top.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah, we should go.
Nathan (Stump):It might be closest things Tom can get, so.
Corey (DM):Okay, well, I'm gonna leave you all to it. Enjoy your time. And my name is Krauss. Divon Kraus. Very nice to meet you, Mr. Kraus.
Nick (E'Louie):Before you go, I just had a question for you.
Corey (DM):Mr. Kraus was my father's name.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, Krauss. Divan Kraus. There you go. What do you do for an occupation? Oh, a little of this, little that.
Corey (DM):They call me the town handyman.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, handyman. So does that mean if we have a problem here that you'd come and help us with it?
Corey (DM):Sure, anytime.
Nick (E'Louie):Fantastic. Nice to meet you, sir.
Corey (DM):You as well.
Lauren (EZ):Good to know.
Corey (DM):I'll see you later. And he goes and just pops out the same window that he crawled into.
Nick (E'Louie):Your man, he's got the funny accent, if you ask me.
Nathan (Stump):What a trustworthy little guy. Stuff would trust him with his life.
Lauren (EZ):I not sure yet.
Nathan (Stump):That was if Stuff ever have kids. He going to make him godparent?
Nick (E'Louie):No, Stump, he came through the window. It's a little strange, isn't it?
Lauren (EZ):He seemed.
Corey (DM):And then While you all are talking, you just hear a. As the window shuts back down.
Lauren (EZ):I wonder if he's like one of those people, like, the. Like, the nosy person in town that, you know, knows everything about everybody.
Nathan (Stump):He did have a really big, long, pointy nose.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah. So literally and figuratively, he's.
Nathan (Stump):He's handy and also nosy.
Lauren (EZ):Yes.
Nick (E'Louie):What should we do? I've got my oak cask filled up with beer, and there's the party. But what day is it? And when is the party?
Lauren (EZ):I also think we should maybe examine the note again.
Corey (DM):To answer your first question, it is Friday and the party's on Tuesday. Yes.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Corey (DM):And so, just to catch everyone up, you are now three days in Sendeo. This is your third day in Sendaio.
Nick (E'Louie):Yes.
Corey (DM):The note for the mowers is tomorrow.
Nick (E'Louie):Something's going down in the two days.
Corey (DM):And then you also got the note from Finch that says, meet me one day in the verdant grove. Oh. Which would be also tomorrow.
Nick (E'Louie):Also tomorrow. Something goes down and meet him in the verdant grove.
Nathan (Stump):Today's kind of like a fun day.
Corey (DM):And what were you saying you wanted to do? Easy.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, we just did not do good at looking at, like, you know, observing the note, investigating the note. It's like we're all illiterate.
Nathan (Stump):We got there.
Lauren (EZ):We got there.
Nathan (Stump):Yeah.
Corey (DM):Stump, do you want to examine it again?
Lauren (EZ):Yes.
Nick (E'Louie):Let's go back over that.
Corey (DM):And so where did you all leave the note? Are you still holding it? Was it on the table?
Lauren (EZ):I think Eloy had it.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Corey (DM):You had it, right? Because you were all looking at it.
Nick (E'Louie):Yep.
Corey (DM):So as you go to pick up the note to look at it again,
Corey (DM):the note looks a little bit different.
Nathan (Stump):What? It does?
Corey (DM):Yes. As you hold up the note, it's around the same size, but on it, it says, you just got Kraused.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh. Oh.
Corey (DM):He took the can I roll for
Nick (E'Louie):perception before he steals it.
Corey (DM):He's already out. He's gone.
Nick (E'Louie):That's why I asked.
Corey (DM):What you percept your passive perceptions were, what is wrong?
Nathan (Stump):You look like you have seen some kind of like.
Nick (E'Louie):Well, something monster obviously wrong here. And that little tiger, he put his name on it. He stole or not? And he told us. We've been groused.
Lauren (EZ):I don't know if he's a tiger. I think he's a turkey.
Nick (E'Louie):Like, he's like a turkey, like a weasel.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, okay. I step out. I step out of the house.
Nick (E'Louie):You step outside.
Corey (DM):Oh, yeah. Step outside. And you successfully stepped outside.
Lauren (EZ):Thank you. I didn't need to roll for that.
Nick (E'Louie):Are you going to roll for that
Corey (DM):or where are you going?
Lauren (EZ):And so do I see. Do I see any trace?
Corey (DM):Roll me a in. We'll do perception. You're kind of scanning everything.
Nick (E'Louie):So he kind of runs kind of after her and is kind of looking around like, what?
Nick (E'Louie):What's going on?
Nathan (Stump):Where's our note falling?
Lauren (EZ):I'm gonna use a dice that I don't normally use.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh.
Lauren (EZ):Because last time was so unfortunate.
Nick (E'Louie):This is gonna be awesome.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, okay. So this. This is. This is not bad. What'd you roll? So you said perception correct. So it was 15 plus one.
Nathan (Stump):Nice.
Lauren (EZ):We're on a. We're on a roll.
Corey (DM):16.
Lauren (EZ):Yes.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Lauren (EZ):That is 16.
Corey (DM):So as you step outside, you're, like, scanning everywhere.
Lauren (EZ):Where's that little weasel turkey?
Corey (DM):Towards the way, you know, the way you all came down to your town or to your little cabin back up that road leads back to town. You see maybe four or five houses up. You see just the tail end of his red.
Corey (DM):Oh, yeah.
Corey (DM):I forgot to tell you. He's wearing red suspenders.
Corey (DM):Just the tail end. You just catch a glimpse of a
Corey (DM):red suspender cutting behind a house.
Lauren (EZ):He's probably gonna steal some more stuff. The godfather of your children stole our note.
Nathan (Stump):Well, he just take note.
Nick (E'Louie):Shall we follow him?
Nathan (Stump):It's just paper.
Nick (E'Louie):All right, stop.
Nathan (Stump):Remember what notes say.
Nick (E'Louie):So you tell you. Where's that?
Lauren (EZ):Yeah, yeah. So I. I see.
Nick (E'Louie):He takes off running.
Nick (E'Louie):He's like. He's like, here we go.
Nathan (Stump):Wake up.
Nick (E'Louie):And he's just running to try to look around the corner to see what's going.
Corey (DM):Yeah. As you get to that, you know, you're running. Run, run. You get to the little in between two houses.
You turn around and you look between these two houses. Obviously you don't see anything when you get there. Roll me E. Louis A also do an investigation.
Nick (E'Louie):Check investigation.
Nick (E'Louie):Here it comes. A 15.
Nick (E'Louie):And he's super awesome at investigation.
Nick (E'Louie):Negative one.
Nick (E'Louie):So 14.
Corey (DM):14.
Lauren (EZ):That's interesting. I rolled a plus one. He got a minus one and on a 15. So.
Nathan (Stump):Okay, can I also investigate?
Nick (E'Louie):Nothing but 15s?
Corey (DM):Yeah, I'll let you investigate as well.
Lauren (EZ):Roll a 15.
Nick (E'Louie):What would that mean?
Corey (DM):We'll consider this helping stump help.
Nick (E'Louie):If it's a 15, can it be considered a 20?
Nathan (Stump):That's a natural one.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, my God.
Corey (DM):Stumps on the same trend as last time.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, where did the guy go? Is he this way?
Nathan (Stump):The wrong way.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Lauren (EZ):And then you, like, fall on your face.
Nathan (Stump):Yeah.
Corey (DM):Easy. I will let you also help okay, since you were all three there.
Nathan (Stump):Easy, easy.
Lauren (EZ):Six plus one. No, it's investigation. So it's plus zero. So it's actually just six.
Corey (DM):I will say you notice two things. One might be true, one might be a red herring. You don't know. But you notice between these two houses.
Yes, Eloise, you notice while you're looking down this. Between these two homes, you see there's a fence behind there that kind of separates the two yards. But you notice that there are two.
You know, each house has a window on each side kind of like yours. And this alleyway between these two homes is probably, I don't know, maybe 20ft between these two houses. How wide it is.
You know, you notice that both windows to the house on your right and the house on the left are both cracked a little bit, and they both have, like, handprints.
Nathan (Stump):I love that he's a little window goblin. That's his weakness. We got to make him walk through a doorway and whole instant.
Corey (DM):And I will, I will tell you, you notice those things. But you don't know if these are, like, recently, if he's hit these homes before. If he went in one now and one's old, so he could be in either.
That's just kind of what you get.
Nathan (Stump):Gets up, kind of brushes himself off.
Nathan (Stump):He's like, which way he go, Louis?
Nick (E'Louie):And he went down this way. But I'm looking at the windows here, and he may have gone in the one on the left. And he may have gone in the one on the right.
Oh, but I think it's the one on the left.
Nathan (Stump):So we split up.
Lauren (EZ):Split the party.
Nick (E'Louie):Split the party.
Nathan (Stump):This always work really well for other adventurers when they split up. Only good things happen.
Lauren (EZ):Yes. Okay, you go to the left, I go to the right, and Stump will go home.
Nathan (Stump):Joke.
Nathan (Stump):Where's Dump go?
Nick (E'Louie):So he's gonna go to the left.
Corey (DM):Okay.
Lauren (EZ):Okay. And I go to the right.
Nathan (Stump):What what do stump do?
Nick (E'Louie):I'm just going to look through the window first. I'm going through the window and I want to. I would like to look around and do an investigation and see if I can.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Nathan (Stump):Don't go to the right.
Corey (DM):Okay, so Elui will start with you. Go ahead. And if you're going to peek in, go ahead and roll. Investigate.
Nick (E'Louie):1, 2.
Corey (DM):2. You don't see anything? It looks like an empty house. Stump, are you going to look in the other window?
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Corey (DM):Roaming investigation as well.
Nick (E'Louie):What do you see over there?
Nathan (Stump):Stump 17. Oh, minus.
Lauren (EZ):Why you assume it's minus?
Nathan (Stump):It is because I saw it last time. Minus two. So it's 15.
Nick (E'Louie):Wow.
Corey (DM):Okay, 15.
I will say, Stump, you notice in this house there is a lady, older, like, I'm gonna say dwarven woman, she also made up in, like, fancy clothes, but very old. She is sitting in a rocking chair in the living room that you can see across the way. And she's got, like, blankets over her.
And you see behind her, like, bending down behind her chair, a little dapper goblin.
Nathan (Stump):Okay. Through window. He sees that through the window. Stumps are in there, right?
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Corey (DM):Correct.
Nathan (Stump):Okay, Easy, Louie. Look, Stump, Find the little. The little guy. He's. He's in there.
Lauren (EZ):Window person.
Nathan (Stump):Yeah, Window guy over there behind old lady. Solve the puzzle.
Nick (E'Louie):Solved. All right, what's next? Okay, so, Elui, can I. How is long? We're in an alley.
Corey (DM):Yep.
Nick (E'Louie):Is. Are the houses split that I could run around in the front door?
Corey (DM):Yeah. I mean, these are like individual homes.
Nick (E'Louie):So they're not like all brick together.
Corey (DM):No.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Corey (DM):Okay, so think, think very suburban, like homes. Yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):So El says, I'm going to run
Nick (E'Louie):around to the front door and knock on it. Stay here in C in case he comes back this way.
Nathan (Stump):Good idea. How many windows this place got?
Corey (DM):Standard home. So maybe there's two windows on each side on the bottom floor. Yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay, so Eloi comes around to the front door and rings the doorbell.
Corey (DM):You. You yank on this chain, okay. And as you yank on it, you inside, you hear these little bells, like,
Nathan (Stump):nice.
Corey (DM):And Stump, you're watching. You hear the door, you know, you hear the little door chime go off.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Corey (DM):And you notice that the old lady kind of like looks over, like, towards the direction of the front door. And you don't know what she says because the windows kind of close. You just hear. Just mumbled through there. And you see her, actually.
Pat Cross, Debbie Krause. And then he gets up, they're friendly. You see him kind of like, nod, and then he walks to the door and he opens it and he's like,
Corey (DM):oh, hello, my dear. My friend, my new friends. How's it going?
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, well, look who it is.
Corey (DM):Can I help you?
Nick (E'Louie):Krauss. Divan.
Corey (DM):Kraus, that's my name.
Corey (DM):You got it right this time.
Nick (E'Louie):Yes. Well, I have a very unfortunate news for you. Well, or maybe for us. We've been kraussed. And you. You took our note, didn't ya?
Corey (DM):I'm sorry, what is this you've been Kraussed nonsense? I don't know.
Corey (DM):Are you making fun of me?
Nick (E'Louie):I would not dare. But this Note here says, I've been Kraussed. And it's. That's you, is it not? Where's our note?
Corey (DM):Do you. Do you take it?
Nick (E'Louie):I just show him this note.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Corey (DM):And he reaches for it. You let him take it?
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah, I'm gonna.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, man, he's really making sure that you're contested.
Corey (DM):Oh, no, he's not gonna, like, fight for it. He just reaches for it, like, to grab it, like, do you let him grab it?
Nick (E'Louie):Yes, I do. Okay, he's gonna let him have it.
Corey (DM):He looks at it and he's like,
Corey (DM):well, first of all, this doesn't look like my handwriting.
Lauren (EZ):What'd you roll?
Corey (DM):Yeah, roll me a perception check.
Nick (E'Louie):That's gonna be an.
Nick (E'Louie):An awesome five
Nick (E'Louie):plus two. Okay.
Corey (DM):And so he's looking at your face.
Nick (E'Louie):Seven.
Corey (DM):He's looking at it and you know, he. He's very quick with his hands. You're noticing and he's looking at it. And at one point he like, holds it up to the light and he's like, this is.
Corey (DM):Does nothing says anything about Krause.
Corey (DM):And he hands it back to you. And as you look at this, it' picture, like a hand drawn picture of like a little girl in a dress, like very kindergarten like, looking.
And he's like, this does not say
Corey (DM):anything about Krause, Devon Krause on there. I don't know what you were talking about.
Nick (E'Louie):The world is this.
Lauren (EZ):So tell me if this is like, okay, like, I am. I feel like I am behind the house. I'm looking through a window. I am doing what he does. I feel like, would I be able to hear what's going on?
Because I would like to just like start banging on the window and be like, you know what you did?
Corey (DM):Well, no, because remember, I was like. From inside you hear. Because the windows closed. I mean, if you wanted to like, open the window quietly or something.
Nathan (Stump):Stop.
Nathan (Stump):Looks at easy and says this.
Nathan (Stump):Good show. This is like silent comedy.
Lauren (EZ):I can see, but I could probably see what's going on. I can't hear it.
Corey (DM):Roll me a perception check.
Lauren (EZ):Okay.
Corey (DM):While this was going on, since you all did have.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, boy, we're just in for it tonight.
Corey (DM):Go ahead and roll me Perception check.
Corey (DM):Since.
Corey (DM):Since you kind of saw this performance happen.
Nick (E'Louie):We all three of us rolled a five, by the way.
Corey (DM):Yeah, he. This, this note does not say cross, Devon, cross D1 cross.
Lauren (EZ):I'm gonna start lifting the window.
Nick (E'Louie):So.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):And Eloise says, well, this is just
Nick (E'Louie):a picture of a. Some little girl in a dress. Yeah.
Corey (DM):I mean, are you trying to bring.
Corey (DM):Do you want me to hang this in our kitchen? I mean, I don't know what you
Corey (DM):want me to do with this.
Nick (E'Louie):That's. I didn't even hand you anything with it. You know what?
Corey (DM):And then you hear a coming from the side, and he looks over.
Nick (E'Louie):Ah.
Nathan (Stump):Hi.
Corey (DM):Hello, Both of you.
Corey (DM):Why are you.
Nathan (Stump):Now, stop, Window person.
Lauren (EZ):Doesn't it feel too good? Does it?
Nathan (Stump):Oh, how the turns have tabled, indeed.
Corey (DM):You're more than welcome to come through my window anytime. I don't mind.
Nathan (Stump):Stump tries to do that.
Nathan (Stump):That might be bad.
Corey (DM):Roll me an athletics check.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, Stop's good at athletics.
Nick (E'Louie):He's gonna break off.
Nathan (Stump):Okay.
Lauren (EZ):Thirteen
Nathan (Stump):plus six.
Corey (DM):Nice. You like? Yeah. You hop up and work your way through. Like, you don't even break anything.
Nathan (Stump):That's amazing.
Corey (DM):When you get in this window, even as big of a guy as you are, you weasel your way in.
Nathan (Stump):And that is how it's done.
Corey (DM):And then from the living room, you all hear, who is it, dear?
Corey (DM):Who.
Corey (DM):Who's at the door?
Nathan (Stump):Oh, Eloit is your grandma.
Nick (E'Louie):Just because she's a dwarf, Stump, doesn't mean that she's my grandma. Plus, my grandma's much, much older than this beautiful woman. Pardon me, miss, but this little man here has been very mischievous.
Corey (DM):Not my grandson.
Nick (E'Louie):He's the.
Corey (DM):He means the world to me.
Lauren (EZ):He's being a weasel.
Nathan (Stump):He's.
Corey (DM):Just because he's a goblin, everyone's got to treat him differently. Just because he's a goblin. He is. Mike. How dare you come into my house and accuse my grandson.
Lauren (EZ):It has nothing to do with him being a goblin. He. He doctored up this note, and he's not a doctor.
Corey (DM):He's a handyman.
Nick (E'Louie):Well, this is a nice lady.
Nick (E'Louie):And I'm already feeling very bad about the situation here.
Corey (DM):And you see Krause. D. Von Krause, like, eating this up and, like, really playing into, like, the sad eyes and grandmother.
Corey (DM):It's okay. Like, they're. They're new in town.
Lauren (EZ):I am so. I just so angry. I don't know what to do.
Corey (DM):He goes to, like, bend over. Intimidating. He goes to, like, bend over and, like, help his grandmother. Eloise, why don't you roll me a perception check real quick?
Nick (E'Louie):Okay. And I'm.
Lauren (EZ):Roll higher than a five.
Corey (DM):Yeah, definitely. It's not gonna.
Nathan (Stump):Come on.
Nick (E'Louie):Not gonna be difficult at all. It's gonna be a really easy 10.
Corey (DM):10. Okay, let me see something here. Perception as perception.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):Thankfully, I think I have a plus.
Corey (DM):You on, man, this is tough. Yeah, you don't Not.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):So, yeah, he's.
Corey (DM):He's trying to help his, you know, calm his grandmother down.
Corey (DM):He's like, I'm sorry. I. I really think y' all should leave. You're upsetting my grandmother.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):And Louise is feeling pretty, pretty bad about. He's not trying to, you know, mess with this lady's situation here.
Nathan (Stump):Guys, are. Are we the bad guys?
Lauren (EZ):No, we're not.
Nathan (Stump):Are you sure? Stump feel like maybe he bad guy right now?
Lauren (EZ):This. This is what happens. You, like, you meet somebody and you think they're a nice goblin, and then they're gaslighting you into like, like.
Nathan (Stump):No, we aren't at the come and go anymore. No gaslighting.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, my gosh.
Nick (E'Louie):So do you.
Nathan (Stump):Do you think I like to come and go jokes? But I'll stop.
Nick (E'Louie):It's fine.
Corey (DM):I love them.
Nick (E'Louie):Do you think you should intimidate him, Stump?
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, man.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, I don't know if that's in character.
Corey (DM):Okay.
Nathan (Stump):One of my favorite things is telling
Nathan (Stump):a joke that's not funny.
Nick (E'Louie):Laughing the loudest at it.
Nathan (Stump):So where I'm at right now with Stump is like, Stump is. I think Stump is dumb enough that he's like, he's buying it. He's like, yeah, we're being mean.
Lauren (EZ):We should go.
Nathan (Stump):But if the thing is, is anybody, including you guys, can convince Stump. Like, Stump's not very hard to convince.
Corey (DM):Okay, so if you can think of
Nathan (Stump):something to make Stump want to do that.
Nick (E'Louie):As Stump is talking, Elui wants to walk behind the goblin and pull a sleight of hand to check his pockets.
Nathan (Stump):Okay. Yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):So will that work? Can we do that?
Corey (DM):So he kind of begins to calm his grandmother down. And then Stump, are you going to talk to him?
Nathan (Stump):Yeah, I was just going to be like, this is Stump rambling.
Nathan (Stump):Allow Stump to pontificate on a previous statement. Stump feel bad. And that is sad also.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah, yeah.
Corey (DM):So this conversation. Yeah, this conversation is going. So if you're gonna try to check his pockets while he's doing that, go ahead. And now roll me a sleight of hand.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):Slide a hand.
Corey (DM):Here we go.
Nick (E'Louie):Come on, baby. 12. And I have a plus six.
Lauren (EZ):Wow.
Corey (DM):Really nice. So 18.
Nick (E'Louie):Why is this checking his pockets while he's staring at Stump?
Lauren (EZ):Does this nice old man have such a high sleight of hand? Like.
Nick (E'Louie):Well, he's very stealthy.
Nick (E'Louie):He's amazingly dex.
Corey (DM):Yeah. So as Stump has be to distract him with conversations, you roll a sleight of hand. And he did not roll well against Perceiving. You.
So you kind of, you know, I mean, you. Luckily you're. He's just a little taller than you, being a goblin. And so you start to. You're within good reach to start, like, what you need to do.
You're kind of moving your hands around very slowly, like, to the fact that he's not really noticing it. And sure enough, you see your old note tucked away.
Nick (E'Louie):Like, that's the one I'm looking for.
Corey (DM):But you also see in other pockets, you notice that he's got hidden pockets. And in those hidden pockets are other pieces of paper.
And you also, while you're quickly doing this, because Stump's doing a really good job of distracting.
Nick (E'Louie):Well, Stump is very distracting sometimes.
Corey (DM):And so you also occasionally hear, like, where he's trying to interject with a stunt, but he's also not wanting to be rude. And you also, Eloise, while you're, you know, you notice other notes. You find your note, but you also see this, like, retractable wire.
And that was probably how he pulled off the whole like, like, took the note that you handed him and got a new one in there. So he's. He's got all the tricks on his belt.
Nick (E'Louie):Tricky goblin.
Corey (DM):So do you take your note out of his pocket?
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah, take a little more. So, yeah, around a little bit, you know, so. Yeah, so I would like to take. I would like to take. To take the note out of. Out of the pocket. Firmly.
Nathan (Stump):Firmly grasp.
Nick (E'Louie):I would, I would like to try to pull it out of. Yeah, and say, oh, here it is.
Corey (DM):Also, you can let him know.
Nick (E'Louie):I'm. I'm going to let him know.
Nathan (Stump):Yeah.
Lauren (EZ):Can you, like, pants him while you're feeling around? Just like. Yeah.
Corey (DM):Okay. So, yeah, you like this?
Nick (E'Louie):The note I was looking for. Thank you.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, what?
Corey (DM):And as he hears that, he looks at you, and normally he's like super grinny and very, very charismatic at this point. He kind of squints his eyes and gives you this look. Not like an evil look, but kind
Nick (E'Louie):of like, okay, now it's on. Okay, now it's on.
Corey (DM):Yeah, like, I see this as a challenge now.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):Yep.
Nathan (Stump):You don't gobbed the goblin.
Corey (DM):And so he says, well, I think
Corey (DM):it's about time for you all to leave my, My grandmother's, you know, she's ready to get back to bed and I'm. I'm gonna take care of her. So I'll see y' all some other time.
Nathan (Stump):Yes. Stump, over. Stay.
Nathan (Stump):Welcome.
Nathan (Stump):Sorry. Come on, guys, let's go.
Nick (E'Louie):Sounds good. Thank you for Your help. And sorry to bother you, madam.
Corey (DM):I'm glad y' all are living just down the street.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, man.
Nathan (Stump):Please come over and we can, I don't know, have fun.
Corey (DM):I will take you up on that.
Lauren (EZ):Don't come over. And then I slam the window.
Corey (DM):Yeah, she's been watching from the window.
Nathan (Stump):Did the old lady and the goblin kind of just now realize that she's.
Nathan (Stump):Yes.
Lauren (EZ):I've just been giving them the stink guy this whole time, and no one's paying attention.
Nick (E'Louie):Yes.
Corey (DM):As you all kind of leave, he shuts the door, then he goes to the window, and you just see him just, like, watching you all as you walk away. Yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):Making enemies. Here we go.
Nathan (Stump):It's kind of like looking back.
Nathan (Stump):They were very nice. Very nice.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):And he's like, of course they were stumped.
Corey (DM):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):I think we should get out of here. So.
Corey (DM):Yeah. Where you all are at now? Like I said, you have. You know, this is. You're about. Have another half a day before nightfalls.
This is your third day in Sandeo. Tomorrow is stuff going down in Rumfield, and that is here in the Whiskerlands in the region you all are at.
And then Finch's note says, meet him for Verdant Grove, which is back in the Verdant greens, which is back to where you are.
Nick (E'Louie):So we got two things going down on the same time.
Nick (E'Louie):Yes.
Nick (E'Louie):And one of them is in Verdant, and one of them's right here.
Nathan (Stump):Today is like our kind of do whatever day.
Corey (DM):I.
Nathan (Stump):My impulse is to go to a tavern or chat up the locals or whatever you want to do.
Lauren (EZ):Chatting up the locals. Also, we can. Maybe each area has a DMV so we could pick up another, like, oh, yeah, thing.
Nathan (Stump):Maybe we should go down more local dmv.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah, I'd like to do that.
Nathan (Stump):See if they got their own Finch.
Nick (E'Louie):I mean, it's still only half a day.
Corey (DM):You want to add another side quest to all your quest?
Nick (E'Louie):Well, quest happens.
Nick (E'Louie):Or.
Nathan (Stump):Or not. Or not.
Corey (DM):No, y' all can totally.
It's like those RPG games where you start collecting all these quests and they, like, on your screen, like, in order of, like, number one, number two, number three, number four. That's it.
Nathan (Stump):Overloaded with quests.
Nick (E'Louie):Let's do it.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah, I want to go to the DMV as well.
Lauren (EZ):Let's go find our Finch. Our.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Corey (DM):Finch 2.
Nathan (Stump):Finish the sequel. Electric Boogaloo.
Corey (DM):Why? Why is it electric?
Nick (E'Louie):Why are you laughing so hard? This one's gonna pass out. The Electric Boogaloo.
Corey (DM):Okay.
Lauren (EZ):So that was top tier comedy, in my opinion.
Corey (DM):And now let's take a minute to hear from our sponsor.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, hello. Welcome to Stump's Donuts, the place where you bring in the thing and Stump puts a hole in it.
Corey (DM):Do you have an apple?
Nathan (Stump):Of course. Stump put a hole in it.
Lauren (EZ):What about a slice of bread?
Nathan (Stump):Oh, that's easy. Stump put a hole in it.
Nick (E'Louie):How about a rock?
Nathan (Stump):Oh, Stump put a hole in that too.
Lauren (EZ):A butt.
Nathan (Stump):Don't put a hole in that.
Nick (E'Louie):Do you have a high income and you're in need of a tax benefit?
Nathan (Stump):Yes. Don't put a hole in it. Come in to Stumps Donut where everything is donut. Just whatever you have.
Stump will put a hole in it and make it a donut and then you can stump your vouchers. Thank you all.
Nathan (Stump):Product marketed to Stump Donuts will contain one hole. And if one hole only. And if you can't get that hole out, then that's. I'm sorry, that's that you got a hole now and you're done and you're
Nick (E'Louie):stuck with a hole.
Corey (DM):So you all, obviously when you got to Tville, you stopped at a DMV because that's, you know, the, the intercontinental water tubes take you to the DMVs.
Nathan (Stump):True.
Corey (DM):So yeah, you can go back to that spot if that's where you'd like.
Nathan (Stump):So we did kind of already go, but I think think we should go and just see if we can find like some locals to talk to. Or maybe we could check out the quests.
Corey (DM):Yeah, I mean, it won't take you very long to get back to the dmv. It's not too far from Tumblr, just right outside. And then if you want to do that and then come back to town, it's totally up to you guys.
Nick (E'Louie):Let's go. Let's go to dmv. Yeah, let's go pick up a question.
Nick (E'Louie):And then like once we, once we
Nathan (Stump):get it, we can also.
Nick (E'Louie):It may take us to a tavern.
Nathan (Stump):We can split up too.
Lauren (EZ):We can always split the party.
Nick (E'Louie):We don't split. What if that was our mantra?
Nathan (Stump):We're so good for everybody else that does that. But it's really easy for dms when the party.
Corey (DM):Oh yeah, totally.
Nick (E'Louie):Three different ways to the dmv.
Corey (DM):Okay, so you all begin to make your way to the dmv. You have to kind of pass through town.
So remember when you were coming to your cabin, you pass through town, you notice all the people and you notice that, yes, they are kind of looking at you all just a little differently because much underdressed compared to everyone else in this town. What you all are wearing is hard and rough and rugged. Everyone else is soft and pretty and bright colors.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah, that might be something. We need to, you know, address our dress.
Corey (DM):That's true. So you're making your way to the dmv. You're passing through everyone. Same thing.
You're noticing all these different people and you get a few side eyes here and there. But everyone pretty much knows you're the newbies in town. Like there was kind of a thing that, like, hey, hey.
We know that for some reason here in town we occasionally get different types of people.
Nathan (Stump):We are very popular guys. It's just like the window Draco say we are, you know, everybody talking about us.
Nick (E'Louie):Yes.
Corey (DM):And so you eventually make your way past everyone else and you kind of go right outside of tumbille again. You see the dmv. And one thing you also notice this is there is gravity bubbles over everything here. Because like, this is the whisker lens.
This is like the region to be in. So there is like high quality.
Nick (E'Louie):High quality gravity domes.
Lauren (EZ):Why are we here?
Nathan (Stump):Or that's what I.
Nathan (Stump):Gravity.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah. It's our. The place we're supposed to be. That's like the assignment. And you know.
Lauren (EZ):But why. Why did we start here? It just seems like they really hooked us up.
Nathan (Stump):Are you saying that in character?
Lauren (EZ):I'm saying that both Lauren and.
Corey (DM):And Easy.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah.
Nathan (Stump):Well, it's because we are nomolis. Very important.
Lauren (EZ):I guess so.
Nick (E'Louie):Special.
Nathan (Stump):Famous.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):Must be.
Corey (DM):That's what they say.
Nathan (Stump):Only the best for the best.
Lauren (EZ):Okay. This. This is just a new type of life for me. So this is. This is great. I just hope it doesn't.
Nick (E'Louie):I agree.
Nick (E'Louie):Easy.
Nick (E'Louie):It's very disturbing.
Lauren (EZ):Y.
Nick (E'Louie):A very interesting situation we found ourselves in.
Lauren (EZ):Yes.
Nick (E'Louie):I mean, I'm very old. I feel like I lived a thousand lives.
Lauren (EZ):Same.
Nick (E'Louie):But I've never once been in this kind of experience.
Nathan (Stump):How old are you? Stop wonder. This.
Nick (E'Louie):That's a great question.
Nathan (Stump):You don't know.
Nick (E'Louie):You know, I. I stopped keeping track over about 700. Wow. I found greater things to focus on rather than how old I was. You know, I've become to realize you are what you behold. And I don't behold the age.
I'd rather behold other things.
Nathan (Stump):How could you hold an age? Dislike the air.
Corey (DM):Not hold.
Nick (E'Louie):Behold. To think about. To look upon.
Lauren (EZ):Well, you look great for being hundreds of years old.
Nick (E'Louie):Thank you very much. And Yi Louis blushes just slightly and
Nick (E'Louie):then kind of Grabs his beard.
Lauren (EZ):He's stroking.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Corey (DM):So you, you know, you have this conversation on the way to the dmv. You're chatting it up and like, why have we been sent here?
And, you know, going through all that talking about ages and has Eloi been like, throwing him back from time to time now that you've kind of got your.
Nick (E'Louie):Your beer situation? Yeah. You kind of notice every now and then he kind of. He kind of stops and pulls the. The oat cast ground.
There's a little spout on it and, you know, has a little nip.
Nathan (Stump):Okay, just a little nip.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Corey (DM):I just want to clarify that just to make sure. Okay.
Nathan (Stump):Nippy.
Corey (DM):Eventually.
Nick (E'Louie):Eventually.
Corey (DM):You see just down the way the DMV to all wrote in on. You see the tube, you know, there's two tubes connecting on the left and right side of it, and on the back side there's another tube that exits.
And, you know, these are going in different directions.
Nathan (Stump):Don't paint these tubes.
Corey (DM):And these are like metallic buildings, like, very. They're, you know, like chrome on the outside. Very smooth. They kind of curve in and up. And as you're getting closer to it, you know, same thing.
You can't really see too many things on the outside, but you do see where the doorway is on the outside, but you don't really see them on the inside. So you get to the door, it opens up, you know, and you hear,
Corey (DM):welcome to the dmv.
Nathan (Stump):Hello, it's Stump.
Corey (DM):How are you? You just walk in and he's just going about his business, like on the computer. This axiom is. And he says, quest, on the Quest
Corey (DM):board, if you need to ride the tubes, take the stairwell to the back.
Nathan (Stump):No tube.
Lauren (EZ):No.
Nathan (Stump):Terrible.
Lauren (EZ):No.
Nick (E'Louie):We'll make our way to the Quest. Thank you very much. So he. Louis, walks over to where the Quest board is.
Corey (DM):Absolutely. Yeah. So you get to the Quest board as well, and he noticed, like on these Quest boards, it is a.
A big wooden board, I would say probably four foot by four foot. And there's. There's slots where your orbs go into. And above it there's like, tier one, tier two, two, three, two, four, tier five.
You notice that tier one, there's like five of them. Tier two, there's four, then there's three, and there's two, and there's like, only one for a tier five, you know. And as you.
As you all walk up, everything is lit up. But as you get closer, like, the tier five goes away, tier four goes away, tier three. And same thing until you get to tier one someday.
And you don't know what they are until you grab the orb.
Lauren (EZ):Okay.
Corey (DM):And so that's kind of how it works.
Nathan (Stump):Okay.
Lauren (EZ):Okay. Well, I'm gonna go for it.
Nick (E'Louie):Would anyone like to grab an orb?
Lauren (EZ):I would.
Nathan (Stump):What?
Nick (E'Louie):Go on then. Easy.
Nathan (Stump):What quest?
Lauren (EZ):You see, so I just. I pick one.
Corey (DM):As you go to pick one, something like kind of stops your hand from grabbing and all three of you begin to. It's weird. There's like a light that comes from the ceiling and lights on all three of you and it says, thank you
Corey (DM):for completing two quests. You are about to complete a third quest. Please register your adventurer party name with the receptionist before taking your final quest.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, well, that is easy. Stomping the cats.
Corey (DM):I don't know if that's a.
Nathan (Stump):What you sound like.
Nick (E'Louie):I'd like to be referred to stomp.
Nathan (Stump):But both of you are so cute. Like pussycat.
Nick (E'Louie):That's a very kind thing to say.
Nathan (Stump):Don't think it. Accurate name.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah, accurate.
Nick (E'Louie):Different things to different people.
Corey (DM):Yes, but yeah, the voice does tell you. Please register your name before you take your final, like, entry quest.
Nick (E'Louie):Man, I wish I would have thought about this more. This is something I think is important.
Corey (DM):But just like in the moment, in the world, you would not have known and had time to think of this.
Nathan (Stump):That is a good point, Corey.
Lauren (EZ):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, my God. Anything but stumping the cat.
Nathan (Stump):Well, how about we put it to a vote? Democracy now.
Corey (DM):This is also a thing you don't necessarily have to. To do right now. It's just before you take this quest, you do have to register your name.
Nathan (Stump):Gotcha.
Corey (DM):So it could be something. You come back and grab this quest later. Or if you want to do it now, you can totally do it now.
Nick (E'Louie):Stop.
Nathan (Stump):Looks at the robot and he's like,
Nathan (Stump):what is your vote?
Corey (DM):Welcome to Tomville.
Nathan (Stump):That is horrible name.
Corey (DM): ed to Register, talk to Axiom: Nathan (Stump):It's way too long to be.
Nick (E'Louie):I don't. I don't hate the anomalies. I don't hate that.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, the anomalies.
Lauren (EZ):That's.
Nick (E'Louie):That's the anomalies.
Lauren (EZ):Should. Should.
Nathan (Stump):We don't like this.
Lauren (EZ):That's. That's not bad.
Nathan (Stump):It'.
Lauren (EZ):Or here.
Nick (E'Louie):Here.
Lauren (EZ):I just googled clever group names.
Nick (E'Louie):Good. Very good.
Corey (DM):Google it.
Lauren (EZ):Okay, I googled clever group names and here are a few. Plausible deniability. 404 group not found. Schrodingers.
Nick (E'Louie):Actually, actually, if it's 404 group not found.
Nathan (Stump):If we're the 404 Schrodinger.
Nick (E'Louie):Because we were not found. We. They. Like, when we got there, we were like this weird situation.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):That were enough to be the 404s.
Nathan (Stump):What about stump and the.
Nick (E'Louie):No, no.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, my goodness. That's just a little. A mouthful. 404 anomaly.
Nathan (Stump):You ever seen them?
Nick (E'Louie):Not anomaly. I think the anomalies.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah.
Nathan (Stump):Stop. Vote for the anomalies.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah. I'm done.
Nathan (Stump):Stomp like.
Lauren (EZ):Okay.
Nathan (Stump):He says it's what we are.
Nick (E'Louie):Right. You're right. You know, you're not saying the word correctly, but.
Nick (E'Louie):But I like that you've said it.
Nick (E'Louie):It's really grown on me. The nomolies.
Lauren (EZ):The nomolies. And then I. I take your flask and toast to that and I drink some out of it.
Nick (E'Louie):Very good.
Lauren (EZ):Okay.
Nathan (Stump):I wasn't sure how you'd react to that.
Lauren (EZ):Okay. No.
Nick (E'Louie):Would you like to partake? I'm into sharing.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, sure. What is this? Some kind of.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah. I've only got one. One mug with me, but Easy's already drinking it.
Nathan (Stump):Sure.
Nick (E'Louie):So here. Stomp.
Nathan (Stump):Do stomp.
Nathan (Stump):Try and stomp drinks.
Nick (E'Louie):We can pass. Pass. Well, you drained that one. Good job.
Nathan (Stump):Not very much in this potential.
Lauren (EZ):Is there anything like, particular or unusual about the liquid? Is it actual just like beer, or is it, like, laced with something?
Nick (E'Louie):No, it's. But you can tell that it's a mixture of beers that he could find.
Corey (DM):So you're gonna go up to the desk and register this name then?
Nick (E'Louie):Yes, we are. We would like to register our names or our name as the group. We are the Nomolies.
Corey (DM):I don't know how to spell. Here is the paper. Write it down.
Nick (E'Louie):Well, of course, it's not hard. Normalies. N, O.
Nathan (Stump):Yes.
Nick (E'Louie):M. Yes.
Corey (DM):A.
Nathan (Stump):Probably L. Yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):I, E, S. No, go back. Wait.
Corey (DM):So have you write it down.
Nick (E'Louie):He's like, looking at both. Eloise. Looking at both. Easy.
Lauren (EZ):And I'm like. Just like nodding yes the whole time, like you guys are talking.
Nick (E'Louie):And I'm.
Lauren (EZ):I'm just like.
Nick (E'Louie):That looks. Sounds good. The nomies.
Corey (DM):All right. The nomolies. Not anomalies. But the nomolies.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Corey (DM):So you write that down.
Nathan (Stump):That's great, Nick.
Corey (DM):You give the paperwork in and you hear one second. And the axiom takes the paperwork, goes to the back, shuts the door. It's probably been about three, four minutes. You're sitting there waiting.
Nick (E'Louie):If he says the name's already been taken, I'm going to be pissed.
Corey (DM):Comes back and says, the anomalies. 2, 4, 3, 2.
Nathan (Stump):You know, has the numbers on theore69. 420.
Nick (E'Louie):Brutal.
Lauren (EZ):Why didn't we do that?
Corey (DM):And so he comes back and he. He's carrying, like, three basically, little ID cards, and he hands them to you all. And all it does is say, registered with dmv.
The nomolies adventuring party.
Lauren (EZ):I've never felt cooler.
Nathan (Stump):This is great.
Nick (E'Louie):We're official.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):Isn't it wonderful stuff?
Nathan (Stump):Like, pins it into the skin on his. Like,
Nathan (Stump):how. It looks like an official nominal.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, my goodness.
Corey (DM):You hurt yourself.
Lauren (EZ):Can we do, like a. Like a high five where we all. Well, you're really big and we're kind of small.
Corey (DM):You two have to jump up.
Lauren (EZ):So I want to do, like. Like a high five all together. Like, because we have the names now.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Lauren (EZ):High five. Yeah, like. Like, freeze frame high five.
Nick (E'Louie):I'm down. Yes.
Lauren (EZ):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):He is totally into it.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Lauren (EZ):Please put song here.
Nick (E'Louie):This is the stump, Neil.
Corey (DM):And so, listeners, just imagine the two little ones jumping up high, all meeting in the middle with a clap and happy music playing in the background. There's a freeze frame, very 90s, and we cut back.
So after that, you get your cards, you make your way back to the quest board, and sure enough, it lights back up. You can reach back for a quest again.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah.
Corey (DM):So this time you go to reach for it, and sure enough, you grab it. And as you grab it, like, the words on this sphere, it says the anomalies. And it's kind of like rotating around.
Nick (E'Louie):I am cool.
Lauren (EZ):I, we have arrived.
Nathan (Stump):We're legit.
Corey (DM):And, like, somewhere in the back room, you hear a. It's like a little noise saying, like, one's been taken. Like, a quest has been taken.
Okay, so are you gonna look inside the sphere now, look into it to see what your actual quest that you picked?
Lauren (EZ):I would assume so, if that's what we're supposed to do.
Corey (DM):Absolutely. It says, Tier 1 quest confetti cleanup.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, Sneezy Volcano time.
Nick (E'Louie):Confetti cleanup. Yep.
Nathan (Stump):About the sneezy volcano location.
Corey (DM):Verdant sprawl at the peat fall. Crossing the payments is two vouchers each, plus reputation, plus one extra free week of gravity.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, we could use that.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah.
Nathan (Stump):You and I are, like, halfway through our Gravity Week.
Lauren (EZ):Gravity Week.
Corey (DM):That's true. You're three days in.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah, about three days in. Right, right, right, right.
Corey (DM):And this says confetti cleanup required. Volcanic SNEEZE event number 441B. Multicolored ash has exceeded acceptable festivity thresholds.
Payment issued upon visual confirmation of mostly gone. Warning, do not Upset the locals. They are sensitive. And then stamped at the bottom, it says, this is not a celebration.
Nathan (Stump):So all we need to do is go smash. And once it's gone, we win.
Nick (E'Louie):Smash the confetti or what?
Nathan (Stump):What was it?
Corey (DM):I wasn't listening.
Nick (E'Louie):Answer to everything. It's like, clean up confetti.
Nick (E'Louie):And.
Nick (E'Louie):And he's like, all we need to do is smash. Then we come back, we win.
Lauren (EZ):Stomp.
Nathan (Stump):Smash.
Corey (DM):So it sounds like, yeah, it's a. It's a cleanup.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah, it's a cleanup. Confetti cleanup.
Lauren (EZ):But don't ex. Don't upset the locals.
Nick (E'Louie):I wonder if the noos or something else.
Lauren (EZ):The.
Corey (DM):So that is your quest you now have. I mean, you can complete it whenever you need to complete it, but if you want to get paid, you know, you got.
Nick (E'Louie):Does it have a location?
Corey (DM):The verdant sprawl.
Lauren (EZ):I.
Corey (DM):Which is basically back to the same region.
Nathan (Stump):Just like, not.
Lauren (EZ):I don't mean to use language, but like, I'm really ready to not do a work anymore because this, like really
Corey (DM):you ready to become a full fledged clerk. So yeah, once you complete this quest. Actually, once you complete this quest.
Nick (E'Louie):Is he easy, like putting the ball back?
Corey (DM):She's like, no, it doesn't go back. It's weird. But once you complete this quest, you will now be full fledged clerks, which means now you can take level or tier 2 quests if you want to.
Yes.
Nick (E'Louie):It's nice to clean up the world, isn't it? I mean, we can take a moment and do some. What did you call it? Some beach.
Corey (DM):And as you are conversing, the beach, as you all are conversing, you notice that there's also like a big map behind kind of the desks that are like of the whisker lens. And you see the verdant sprawl and you notice that like your name is up on the board now on that map, the.
The anomalies, it has like a little X and it's showing you where your quest is because this is how they keep track of who's doing what quest. It's not necessarily who you are. Here it is. This is where you need. You should be here if you want to finish.
So it is on the very far end of the verdant sprawl, almost leading past it. So it's further than you all were there where you need to go. Because. What did I say the area was called?
Sorry, it was the verdant sprawl, the peat fall crossing in the verdant. So the verdant Sprawl is the region, just like the Whiskerlands is a region.
Nathan (Stump):Gotcha.
Corey (DM):So there's a lot within the verdant sprawl. And Pete Falls Crossing, which is on the very, very far border.
Nick (E'Louie):We could go talk to that nice old man in the cottage on our way out maybe. Okay, so I think the question that we have is, are we going to. To that thing or are we going to the. Whatever's supposed to happen tomorrow?
Nathan (Stump):Well, it feels like the verdant grain might be in the verdant sprawl. Stomp looks at the robot guy and
Nathan (Stump):he says, how long tube take to get to Verdant place?
Corey (DM):The same time it brought you here? So about 30 minutes.
Nathan (Stump):We could take Awful tube take.
Nick (E'Louie):Awful, awful.
Nathan (Stump):Be there in 30 minutes.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay, what we're looking at is going,
Corey (DM):you arrived two hours ago. You still have 22 hours left on your tickets.
Nick (E'Louie):Wow.
Lauren (EZ):Okay, I didn't realize that.
Corey (DM):Yes. Your tickets last. The minute you purchase a tube ticket, it lasts for 24 hours.
Nathan (Stump):So stump can puke out his guts for free, you say? Very good.
Corey (DM):Technically, yes.
Lauren (EZ):Jolly good, jolly good.
Nick (E'Louie):But it sounds to me like. So do we think we can make it to the verdant sprawl, do the
Nick (E'Louie):thing and come back?
Corey (DM):Well, I mean, it takes about 30 minutes. Very, very fast.
Nick (E'Louie):But the other thing is that whatever is happening in the verdant sprawl is happening tomorrow, which is also the same thing that's happening at this secret meeting tomorrow in Tumble.
Nathan (Stump):Can we look at the map and see where the verdant green is and where. I'm so sorry, Rumfields. No, no, the. The other place where the volcanoes are in the verdant sprawl.
Corey (DM):Yeah, it shows you, like on the map. So the verdant sprawl, it shows you.
Nathan (Stump):Yeah.
Corey (DM):Which is a big almost continent looking, you know, and then Pfall Crossing is the very tip. So, like Whiskerlands is down here.
Nathan (Stump):Yeah.
Corey (DM):So think of it as the south. The verdant sprawl is the north. And the very tip of the north of the verdant sprawl is Peep Falls Crossing.
Nathan (Stump):And Verdant Green.
Corey (DM):Verdant Grove is where the. Close to where the DMV is, which is the center of the Vernon sprawl.
Nathan (Stump):Okay, well, I think we should go to the center.
Corey (DM):Yeah.
Nathan (Stump):And deal with Finch's weirdness.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Nathan (Stump):And then after that, if we want, we can go do our quest. Because it's like on the way.
Lauren (EZ):Why could we not do both? Because if it takes 30 minutes to go to places.
Corey (DM):I feel like, stupid how fast this thing goes.
Nathan (Stump):Like, maybe we can do both.
Lauren (EZ):Both I think we should do.
Corey (DM):Now, here's the thing. The way it works, it's region to region. So like, you can take from Whiskerlands to Verdant Sprawl, which would normally take you like four days.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Corey (DM):It only takes 30 minutes. But you can't take the tube from Tumbille to Rumfield. Anything within the region. You have to do, like, local transport.
The tubes are just for, like, region to region. But town to town is like public transport. Or get a carriage.
Nick (E'Louie):So it might take longer to go to the thing.
Nathan (Stump):Looking at the map.
Nick (E'Louie):Map.
Nathan (Stump):About how long of like a walk would it be to get to Rumfield
Corey (DM):if you were on, let's say, horseback?
Nathan (Stump):What if we did a montage on montage on horse?
Corey (DM):It's still that same amount of time. It sounds quicker than the listener.
Nick (E'Louie):It's weird.
Corey (DM):If you. If you took like, horseback as transport, it would take you probably about 12 hours.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Corey (DM):To go from Tomville to Rumsfield.
Nathan (Stump):So. And you said it's halfway through the day. Can we make it there in time?
Corey (DM):If you left right now, you could totally make it to. Well, not by the end of the day. You're gonna have to sleep partial way through. But you'll get there by tomorrow for sure.
And then they do have a tube from like, Rumsfield.
Nathan (Stump):Let's do that.
Corey (DM):To Verdant Grove as well.
Nathan (Stump):Let's do that. Let's go to Rumfield and.
Corey (DM):Because every major city is going to have a tube that you can.
Nathan (Stump):Yeah.
Corey (DM):Go to the DMV and then work your way.
Nathan (Stump):We'll use our excellent investigation abilities to.
Corey (DM):Yeah. Because we're really good.
Nathan (Stump):Figure out what's going on. And then we can take the tube to the center of the Virgin Sprawl.
Corey (DM):Now you're using your noggin. There you go.
Nathan (Stump):I have a headache already.
Nick (E'Louie):I'm so thankful that there's. We both have Nathan here and Sump.
Corey (DM):So I will say remember, and Nathan, Remember, you have 24 hours on your free ride or on your tickets for the tube.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Corey (DM):So it's about halfway through the day. So you're about two hours ago. So we'll say if it's halfway through the day, we'll say it's like 1:00pm right now. Right?
Nathan (Stump):Yeah.
Corey (DM):So you. And you've been here for a couple hours. It was about 11am that you got here.
So 11am Tomorrow, your tickets are done and you're gonna have to buy new ones if you want.
Nick (E'Louie):3.
Corey (DM):Yep. 3 vouchers per person to ride. So you have till 11am tomorrow to take the tube to the verdant grove. So what would you like to do?
Nathan (Stump):Is the question I say right now. Let's get some horses and get our. But to Rumfield.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Nathan (Stump):Is like. He just. There's like a pill bug on the ground.
Nathan (Stump):He's like, oh, guys, look. It's so cool. How does it turn into ball?
Nick (E'Louie):Well, what are you paying attention?
Nathan (Stump):Look at this, Louie. Look. Easy, look. Have you ever seen this?
Nick (E'Louie):Wow. How does a wonderful book.
Lauren (EZ):How does stump ride a horse? That's what I want to know.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, good point.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, no.
Nick (E'Louie):Very big horse. Right.
Corey (DM):He has to ride at Clydesdale the way.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, that's awesome.
Nathan (Stump):In the past, the way it's been dealt with is don't worry about it.
Nick (E'Louie):Yep.
Nathan (Stump):I like pretty much there happens to be a Clydesdale.
Corey (DM):Oh yeah. There's totally Clydesdales in this world.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Corey (DM):So how are you gonna get some horses?
Nick (E'Louie):We're gonna.
Lauren (EZ):They don't just give them.
Nick (E'Louie):We're gonna ask the. We're gonna ask the NBA.
Nick (E'Louie):Have you got any horses available?
Corey (DM):Would you like to use the water tubes?
Nathan (Stump):No, we need to go place that close two bowling for four horsey.
Nick (E'Louie):But why don't you take us there?
Corey (DM):Basically you. You're understanding the only mode of transportation at the DMV right now that you
Nick (E'Louie):know is the water destinations, but no
Corey (DM):from region to region. Correct.
Nick (E'Louie):Excuse me, sir, Would you happen to know where in the horses or any type of transport vehicle or animal would be?
Corey (DM):In the town of Tomville. You can find stables in the north part of the city. And if you go to the west side, you can also find asses for rent.
Corey (DM):You know what?
Nick (E'Louie):You know what?
Nathan (Stump):Hearts ass.
Corey (DM):Oh, asses.
Corey (DM):The hee Haws.
Nick (E'Louie):I prefer to go to a stable.
Corey (DM):Oh, like there's no donkey.
Lauren (EZ):Yes, donkey. All right, thank you.
Corey (DM):You may also rent these new trend called bicycles.
Nick (E'Louie):Do we have to rent the bicycles? Can we use them and return them?
Corey (DM):Please See the vendors in Townville.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, you don't have bicycles?
Corey (DM):They don't rent them here?
Nathan (Stump):No.
Corey (DM):You have to go to town. You have to go back to Townville.
Nathan (Stump):Let's go get bicycles from Dumbville.
Lauren (EZ):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):I like to ride my bicycle.
Corey (DM):Copyright
Nathan (Stump):podcast canceled I'm sorry.
Nick (E'Louie):I'm new at this.
Nathan (Stump):Nick went and sang the song so good.
Nick (E'Louie):I didn't mean.
Nathan (Stump):Yeah, that's saying it's so close to the original.
Corey (DM):I said like to and we Cut to you heading back to town? Yeah. So are you going for the horses, the donkeys, the bicycles? What would you like to rent?
Nathan (Stump):Yes. Stump goes to look at the asses.
Corey (DM):Absolutely. There's some fine asses over there.
Nick (E'Louie):Mighty fine.
Corey (DM):Hey, hey, Peter, go ahead and, go ahead and bring out Petunia for us. We don't need Petunia out here.
Nathan (Stump):Petunia, very pretty.
Corey (DM):Yeah, you don't want to tell anyone over at. Oh, Frank over at Frank's Asses gave you this deal. Now everyone else is three, but for you it's just two vouchers. You two getting horses?
Yeah, you, you, you're talking to this lady. Very, very like equestrian esque. Like she does this like this is her whole life raising horses. She's like, yes, it's just about your each.
If you need to rent, you know, you get, you get these for 24 hours for whatever travels you need.
Lauren (EZ):Do the horses have names?
Corey (DM):We actually let our customers name them and then you can bond with them for the day and then the next person gives them a name. It's a way for you to feel connected.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah. So I hand over a voucher and I will ride Samuel, my horse.
Corey (DM):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):Elu takes his time and he goes from horse to horse and he finds, finds one that of course, of course, of course. A horse that he feels most connected to.
Corey (DM):Absolutely. And the one you find, it's. It's the one they call the runt. This one is. It's more like a. What do they call those horses that are like.
It's not like, not a pony.
Nick (E'Louie):Like a Shetland pony.
Corey (DM):Yeah, yeah, there you go. That's exactly what I'm thinking of. Like a Shetland pony.
Nick (E'Louie):Couldn't it be a Shetland pony?
Lauren (EZ):It is a Shetland pony, little Sebastian.
Corey (DM):But that is. You feel the most connected to this
Nick (E'Louie):one and I'm ah, this is the one. I know it. I can feel it.
Corey (DM):Yeah. And you see this one go.
Lauren (EZ):Is it drunk?
Corey (DM):Oh yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):I think I know it's why it's the one.
Corey (DM):Yeah. So you've now collected your horses. You got the Shetland pony. You got just a normal, you know, like racehorse style horse.
Lauren (EZ):Yes.
Corey (DM):And you've got your big ass over there. You got Petunia the donkey.
Nathan (Stump):Could Stump, on the way to meeting them, could he also rent a bike?
Corey (DM):Yeah, if you want to. Are you gonna like carry it on
Nick (E'Louie):the back of your.
Nathan (Stump):Just gonna show up holding a bike.
Lauren (EZ):You are gonna look so like important.
Nathan (Stump):Yeah. Stump meets up with you guys and
Nathan (Stump):he says, hey, look, Stump twice as fast
Nick (E'Louie):Yep.
Corey (DM):All right. So are you.
Nick (E'Louie):Onward we go.
Corey (DM):Are you actually making your way to Rumsfield? Right. Is that where you wanted to head to?
Lauren (EZ):Yeah, we're making our way downtown.
Corey (DM):Copyright.
Lauren (EZ):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):Onward.
Corey (DM):Yeah. So you. You begin to make your way to Rumsfield. It's, it's. It's a very wide traveled road.
Like, this is an area that a lot of people come in and out of this side of tumble. So, you know, that must be the way that you need to go. And as you begin to make your
Corey (DM):way,
Corey (DM):you notice that as you are leaving town, there's still a lot of beautiful greenery, like everything else here. Like I said, once again, the grass is very tall. It's very unkept, but beautiful.
All when you're passing through the outside, you're seeing the rivers. The water is, you know, flowing up, but it.
As it gets, you know, maybe three, 400 yards in the sky, it stops and begins to kind of fall back down and then keep going. But that's kind of where it seems to be hitting the peak. And some areas it's lower, some areas it's higher.
And as you making your travel, are we going at a pretty quick pace? Yeah, I think we want to get
Nick (E'Louie):there as fast as possible.
Corey (DM):Absolutely.
Nick (E'Louie):That's all right.
Corey (DM):Yeah. Eventually you notice that, like, everything's kind of got this yellowish tint to everything. And eventually you kind of.
That tint goes away and it's kind of weird. But as you look back, you notice that tint is actually the gravity bubble that's covering.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, yeah.
Corey (DM):Region. So now you're kind of outside of that gravity bubble.
Nathan (Stump):But luckily we all got wings.
Corey (DM):Luckily you all got wings. And so you're still down. You notice that you're kind of wondering, like, why aren't the horses rising up, up.
But you notice that like around there, like ankles and anklets and stuff. They actually have, like, things. Yeah, of course, they have their own brass rings. Oh, yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):Smart.
Nathan (Stump):That's great.
Nick (E'Louie):Wicked smart.
Corey (DM):Oh, yeah.
Nathan (Stump):We're not gonna get any angry fan letters about how we missed animal cruelty.
Corey (DM):Yep.
Nathan (Stump):Well, that's still up for debate, Corey.
Corey (DM):True, that is still up for debate. But no, they've got their own, like, things built into it. And so, yeah, you're making away pretty quick.
It's, you know, we're gonna say, let's see how much time has passed here. About another about five hours go by. You're making some pretty good time. You know, it's. It's going pretty well.
Nathan (Stump):So easy and stump kind of like set you know, rides up next to you close and he kind of means everything.
Nathan (Stump):So you got the. You got snacks.
Lauren (EZ):So I hand Stump like a handful of oats.
Nick (E'Louie):Oats, like dry oats.
Corey (DM):Brutal stuff.
Nathan (Stump):Looks at you and you can tell he's like really disappointed. But he doesn't want to be ungrateful. So he's just.
Nathan (Stump):Oh great.
Nathan (Stump):And he puts the oats in his mouth and just kind of
Nick (E'Louie):guys.
Nathan (Stump):So good. Thank you.
Lauren (EZ):Just dry oats.
Corey (DM):We're gonna go ahead and just say, you know, the rest of the chapel. It's. It's goes fairly well.
You notice that like also in the sky, these beautiful bright colored birds, so cute and cheerful are floating around and you know, chirping and having a good time. And you know, as night begins to fall, you know you're making your way still.
You do notice like in all the distances you do see lights coming from smaller towns off this main road. You haven't really passed any towns, but you have passed some like roads that lead to other areas.
But even this road is like very well, like Rumsfeld is still straight ahead. But they have like small signs for different towns to cut off on different roads. But everything's perfectly still looking great.
We're gonna say eventually you. As night begins to fall, it gets pretty dark. So we said it takes 12 hours. So if that was 1pm you all left.
You know, it's getting close to midnight at this point. Are we gonna try to push through till we get there? Are you gonna camp at all before you just like.
We're gonna get there at 1am as it's getting darker.
Nathan (Stump):Stump is like freaked out.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Nathan (Stump):And he kind of is like, hey
Nathan (Stump):everybody, why don't we get closer?
Nick (E'Louie):What?
Nathan (Stump):Instead of farther from each other?
Lauren (EZ):Oh, what's. What's the matter?
Nick (E'Louie):Somebody ready to take a break?
Nathan (Stump):It's just Kitty getting kind of dark. Don't you think we should be closer to each other so that everybody knows where everybody is while it's dark outside?
Lauren (EZ):I.
Nick (E'Louie):We can do that. No, not a problem.
Nathan (Stump):Then that's good.
Nick (E'Louie):We'll go together.
Nathan (Stump):Great.
Lauren (EZ):I.
Nick (E'Louie):Come on now, lad.
Lauren (EZ):Night time is so beautiful here.
Corey (DM):I don't.
Nathan (Stump):Well, most of the time.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, okay.
Nick (E'Louie):We're almost there. Sometimes why don't we rush a little bit longer and see if we can find the place we need to be.
Nathan (Stump):Yes. When we get there, keep going until it is no longer like this.
Lauren (EZ):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):Here we'll go together.
Nick (E'Louie):And E. Reaches out and holds stumps hand.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, thank you.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh.
Lauren (EZ):I take the other hand. So we're like going in like a line and it's really cute.
Nathan (Stump):This is great. Stump can't really steer his donkey.
Corey (DM):You're like having to reach down to
Nick (E'Louie):like jumping back and forth. Easy donkey.
Nick (E'Louie):And Eloise.
Lauren (EZ):Yes.
Nathan (Stump):It's just like a brainless donkey.
Corey (DM):So you're trying to like hold hands while you're going through. And like I said, it's of kind getting dark. It's getting darker but you still see lights around the area.
This, the moon is like beautifully sooner than later. Fairly soon.
Lauren (EZ):Yes.
Nathan (Stump):No sky splits open red and screaming and bats and demons.
Corey (DM):Not tonight. No, not tonight. It seems to be a pretty calm night.
Nathan (Stump):Stump and Nathan are believed.
Corey (DM):I mean it could be maybe the Whiskerlands are different than the verdant sprawl that you were at. You don't know. But, but, but as far as you know. Nope. This guy has been nice. No screaming demons.
Nathan (Stump):Gotcha.
Corey (DM):After about another hour of like, you know, trying to get. It's getting much darker. You know, it's just past midnight. In the distance you see lots of light. You're. You're up on this, kind of up on a hill.
Excuse me, that you. You've kind of been going up in, in, in the way.
And so as you kind of getting toward the top of this hill that you've been going up on this road, it eventually crests and it's kind of
Nick (E'Louie):like a steady incline.
Corey (DM):Yeah, it's like been a steady incline going up, but now you've kind of crested and then it starts to go down like into like a valley. And down at the bottom of this valley you just see lots of light. You see a sprawling city ahead of you.
And from what you can make out since it's not daylight, you know, it's night time. So what you can make out though is the way all the lights are. It is a very round giant walled city. And it is. Everything is like perfectly round.
And on the outside of the walls you see a lot of smaller lights and some you can kind of catch a glimpse of some tents and other buildings on the outside of the wall and on the inside of these giant walls since luckily since you were up at a high vantage point and looking down, you can see over the walls. And so from the lights that you see inside of these walls, there's a big circular gigantic wall on the outside and inside it's like squared walls.
So it's almost like a square inside of a circle. You know, it's kind of the shape you are seeing. And it kind of clicks. Maybe.
Those walls are the north wall, the west wall, you know, the, the east wall and the south wall within this giant outer wall, that's a circle on the outside. And so you do see a sign that says, you know, Rumfield, we made it.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, and Louis looks around for confetti.
Nathan (Stump):No, no, that's the peak. I'm sorry, that's.
Corey (DM):Your new quest is the confetti, which is in the verdant sprawl. This is where the mowing dads are going to be meeting?
Lauren (EZ):Yeah, that's where we're going.
Nick (E'Louie):Eloise is very confused.
Corey (DM):It's all that drink you've been having.
Nick (E'Louie):Where's all the confetti? It's been along there. I don't see any confetti here.
Lauren (EZ):There.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, there should be. We're anomalies. Why don't they, you know, accept us with praise and celebration? Right, stop. Know what you're thinking. Stop. On same page.
Nick (E'Louie):I, I don't know.
Lauren (EZ):I, I kind of. Am I able to maybe kind of take your flask away from you without.
Nick (E'Louie):Strapped to his back? Well, yeah, you've noticed he hadn't had some for a little while because he's, he's been drinking all day long.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, okay.
Nick (E'Louie):And so it's the Shetland pony and I'm kind of doing a. His zigzag.
Lauren (EZ):Oh my goodness.
Nick (E'Louie):And it's also late, so he's, he's sleepy.
Corey (DM):Now, do we want to camp before you get into town or do you want to actually go into town and find a place so in town to sleep?
Nathan (Stump):I'm. I'm curious. Does sleep do anything other than like healer hit points? Like if we don't sleep, will we be like sleep deprived?
Corey (DM):Eventually, yeah.
Nathan (Stump):Okay, so that is the thing. So we do need to sleep. Is there a like gate, main entrance that we see as we approach anything like that?
Corey (DM):Yeah, yeah. Down there, like where the, the big outer circle wall is, there is those. What are they called, those like metal gates that go up and down.
Lauren (EZ):Drawbridge.
Corey (DM):No, it starts like a p. Thank you.
Nick (E'Louie):Yep.
Nathan (Stump):Stump says.
Nathan (Stump):Well, Stump kind of tired. Stump don't care if we sleep outside. But I know that sometimes you people like to sleep indoors. So what you think we sleep out there or we go inside?
Lauren (EZ):Well, it seems like you don't really like sleeping outside too much because seem a little uneasy about that.
Nathan (Stump):Well, this outside is less angry than other outside.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, goodness.
Nathan (Stump):Don't think it's okay.
Nick (E'Louie):I could fall asleep over here just off the trail. Yeah, it wouldn't bother me. Anyway, we.
Lauren (EZ):We can do that. That's fine.
Corey (DM):I had a really great tent.
Lauren (EZ):That's true.
Nathan (Stump):Just let's Stump gather some grass.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah, I like being outside anyway.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah, I slept really good the last time we slept outside, so.
Nick (E'Louie):Great. Let's come off the trail here, here and take a nap.
Nathan (Stump):Stump, remember, should not cut grass. So.
Corey (DM):Look at you.
Nick (E'Louie):Very good Stomp. You're learning and growing.
Nathan (Stump):Stump do this for you because Stump like you can.
Corey (DM):Oh, that's a good lad.
Nathan (Stump):Also, Stump has the bike like on his back now. He used his rope to kind of put it on his back so he's got his arms free, but he's still got the bike.
Nick (E'Louie):So e takes the Shetland pony and kind of comes over and finds a like a little bit bigger boulder and ties the rope around the boulder and then just kind of lays down next to it, takes his beard, curls it into a little circle and then lays down on his beard. That is like a pillow.
Nathan (Stump):Nice.
Nick (E'Louie):After taking off his oak cask,
Nathan (Stump):Petunia is a free range donkey. No one can hold her down. Stump's just gonna trust that she will stay.
Corey (DM):I also just realized I named your donkey after the character that showed up at your place.
Nathan (Stump):Wait, what?
Lauren (EZ):Every. Everybody's Petunia.
Nathan (Stump):More than one Petunia?
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah, that's right.
Nathan (Stump):Who is the other Petunia?
Lauren (EZ):The really. The one that dropped off stuff.
Corey (DM):Finch's friend. The lady that was in the Elven lady in the flowy. Yes, there's a lot of.
Nathan (Stump):That's actually great. That could be great later.
Lauren (EZ):You're a Petunia.
Corey (DM):You're Petunia. All right, so you all have made your camp. You've, you know, tied Petunia up, you've tied your horses up, You've done everything.
Nathan (Stump):No, Petunia is free ranged.
Corey (DM):Oh, okay. Free range Petunia. So Petunia is just chilling and at this point, yeah, Petunia's like, I'm sleepy too. So you all get some good rest.
Well, you know, you get basically another long rest. So if you've had to use anything, you can refresh, which I don't think you've had to yet. So everything is now back to 100. Nice long rest.
Are we trying to wake up early in the morning to not waste time? Yes, yes. Like sun up kind of situation.
Nathan (Stump):I would think so.
Corey (DM):Absolutely. So we'll call that a long grass. You know, you got some. Plenty of rest. It was uninterrupted and yeah, we're going to say what, 7:00am Sound good?
Nathan (Stump):Sure.
Corey (DM):Sure. Okay. So 7:00am you got some good sleep?
Nick (E'Louie):Maybe earlier for E Lou. Because he's an old man.
Corey (DM):That's true.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Lauren (EZ):He's.
Corey (DM):He's already up.
Nick (E'Louie):He probably had to be quite a bit. Yeah.
Corey (DM):He's already gone on a walk and come back. Yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):Meditating and shrugging his beard again.
Corey (DM):And as you look back down, same thing as last night but now you see it a little bit better in the daylight. Yeah. It is a. A round, huge round stone wall with turrets along the way. Yeah. You see the portcullis down at the center that leads into the town.
Outside of the town you do see there's a lot of very colorful tents and buildings that are brightly colored. It almost looks like circus tents and very, very circusy looking.
Nathan (Stump):And these are outside? Yeah.
Corey (DM):Outside. Yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):And does it look moan?
Corey (DM):Nope.
Nathan (Stump):What does that mean? Mode.
Nick (E'Louie):Mode.
Corey (DM):Well no, everything is still lush and tall.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Lauren (EZ):Oh yeah.
Nathan (Stump):Oh my.
Nick (E'Louie):Interesting even.
Nathan (Stump):Is that what you meant?
Nick (E'Louie):Well like where the grass is like
Corey (DM):has it been the grass been cut?
Nathan (Stump):Oh, M O W E mode.
Corey (DM):Yeah.
Nathan (Stump):Sorry.
Nick (E'Louie):Moon.
Corey (DM):Even inside this circular walls like all the buildings even on the inside that you can see are very colorful and bright and almost circusy looking.
Everything here is colored in the middle of the city you see this giant almost looks like a castle within these walls but it looks almost more like a temple. And then like I said.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Corey (DM):You see the. The square shape. So the square walls within this circular wall.
But yeah you see what looks to be an arena over here you look to see like some markets over here. There's even water surrounding. But the water only goes up a certain way here the water does not go as high. It actually stays pretty low.
Nathan (Stump):Here we're in a hurry and between our destination and us is a whole ass carnival.
Corey (DM):But I mean it's not just in the front. It's like almost around the whole thing.
Nathan (Stump):Place look amazing.
Lauren (EZ):Yes.
Corey (DM):There's a lot to see here. So yeah it is 7am we'll say you've made your trip now you've packed everything up. You're heading back. You're heading.
Heading down the road into the valley. Making your way to Rumsfield.
Nathan (Stump):You think there'll be clowns? Oh Stump hope there are clowns.
Lauren (EZ):I hope not. Stop.
Nathan (Stump):Love clown. You don't like clowns?
Nick (E'Louie):No.
Lauren (EZ):Scary.
Nathan (Stump):What? Clowns are the best. Funniest guys stop show you. You'll see.
Lauren (EZ):You okay? I'll believe you.
Corey (DM):As you get to closer to the entrance of Rumsfield you do see that a lot of These tents and stuff are basically traveling salesmen. You do notice that there's a lot of wares for sale out here. Kind of carnage looking.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah.
Nathan (Stump):Cabbage in there.
Corey (DM):You do notice that all the people that are selling things on these, outside of these walls, they are all wearing like either cat ears or they got like patched fur on their, like, arms.
Nathan (Stump):These people are a little jellicle.
Nick (E'Louie):Like jellicle cats.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Lauren (EZ):Furries,
Corey (DM):kinda. Yeah. Are we gonna make our way past all this due to portcullis?
Nathan (Stump):There's no way. Unless you do something. Stumps going straight through this. This place is way too interesting and cool and fun.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah.
Nathan (Stump):Stump is already like steering Petunia to like one of the cat people. He's like, oh, look at these guys.
Nathan (Stump):Look.
Nick (E'Louie):Elu is like, stomp, why?
Lauren (EZ):What?
Nick (E'Louie):What I'm gonna ask you.
Nathan (Stump):There's cat guy.
Nick (E'Louie):Stomp, I need you.
Nathan (Stump):Maybe he knows clowns.
Nick (E'Louie):Look, hold this.
Nick (E'Louie):And he hands him his beard.
Nathan (Stump):Okay.
Nathan (Stump):And he's holding your beard.
Nick (E'Louie):He says, now look me in the eyes.
Nathan (Stump):Stump looking in the eyes.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay. Stomp, we're gonna go through this town. We have a place to be.
Nathan (Stump):Yes.
Nick (E'Louie):And so I need you to just hold on to my beard like a leash. And I need you to not let go.
Nathan (Stump):Stump is like, don't go and get Stump.
Nick (E'Louie):And you're gonna follow me. And we're gonna go, go into this place here. And we're gonna go to a very specific location.
Nathan (Stump):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Nathan (Stump):Stop.
Nathan (Stump):Really want to talk to guys.
Nick (E'Louie):I will. We'll talk to them in a minute. Okay. All right, Here we go. Easy. Are you ready?
Lauren (EZ):I. I am ready. I don't want to see no clowns.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):We're gonna.
Nick (E'Louie):We'll come back.
Nathan (Stump):Now what if we bring cat guy with?
Nick (E'Louie):We'll come back and talk to cat guy.
Nathan (Stump):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Corey (DM):It is very hopping. Like even at 7am like, like things are going. People are stopping, chatting, selling, buying and giving things, man.
Nick (E'Louie):Party all night.
Nathan (Stump):Stump kind of looks at one of the guys and he goes like.
Corey (DM):And he gives you a look of like, anger.
Nathan (Stump):Oh.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh.
Nathan (Stump):Stump sees the anger and he's like, huh?
Lauren (EZ):You offended?
Nathan (Stump):He kind of, you know, pulls back a little bit.
Nathan (Stump):The guy seem mad and then he
Corey (DM):kind of goes back to doing his sales and stuff.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah. Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):What are we looking for?
Nathan (Stump):We're trying to get into Rumfield to get in there.
Nick (E'Louie):Where is the confetti? I don't understand.
Nathan (Stump):So we want to get into Rumfield and we want to find the alleyways.
Nick (E'Louie):Yes.
Nathan (Stump):So that we can walk the Directions.
Nick (E'Louie):Yes. Yep.
Nick (E'Louie):Yes. So absolutely is trying to go. And then I don't know if Easy's tracking here, but we're trying. I'm trying to lead us straight past this circle.
Lauren (EZ):I.
Corey (DM):Into the portcullis, into the actual Rumsfeld.
Nick (E'Louie):Yes.
Nick (E'Louie):Right. Unfilled.
Lauren (EZ):What should I hold on to? He's holding on to your beard. What should I hold on to?
Nick (E'Louie):The.
Nick (E'Louie):You should.
Nathan (Stump):Petunia's tail.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, you should tell on Petunia's tail.
Lauren (EZ):Okay.
Corey (DM):All right. As we are holding on to each other and making our way to the portcullis.
Lauren (EZ):Yes.
Corey (DM):It is open, like the town. The city is open for business. There are guards along and through this portcullis. Like, this wall is pretty deep.
Nathan (Stump):Deep.
Corey (DM):You know, it is like layer upon layer deep.
Lauren (EZ):Okay.
Corey (DM):As you're going through, and they're just standing there kind of watching you all come through. There's no questions being asked. And as you say hi, they're like, oh, hello.
Nick (E'Louie):Hello.
Nathan (Stump):Welcome to.
Nick (E'Louie):He's kind of smiling and nodding.
Corey (DM):Welcome to Rumsfield.
Nick (E'Louie):Giggling to himself.
Corey (DM):Welcome to Runsfield.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, okay.
Corey (DM):And yeah, you make your way through. I mean, it's a mixture of like human dwarves, elves that are kind of guards. It's a nice mixture. Yeah. Killed.
Nick (E'Louie):Very cool.
Corey (DM):As you make your way inside.
Corey (DM):Yeah.
Corey (DM):You get. You are now thrown into the south wall.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Corey (DM):Because you're entering through the south. So you are within the south wall, heading in.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):And he pulls out the note that he's got that he had to steal back from Kraus.
Lauren (EZ):Devon Kraus, the little weasel.
Nick (E'Louie):The little weasel goblin.
Corey (DM):Absolutely.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Corey (DM):And you do notice that on that. On that it said, you know, our field. Rumfield W. West wall alleys.
Nick (E'Louie):There it is.
Corey (DM):So you are currently within the south, because any entrance you come into, you have to go through the walled areas. So you are in the south wall alley. And you notice in these south walls there is a lot of like educational buildings, libraries, guilds.
Nathan (Stump):This place is like, nice.
Corey (DM):Oh, yeah.
Nathan (Stump):Like a nice.
Corey (DM):It is a capital city. You noticed that, like, it's very large. I mean, there are thousands here.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay.
Corey (DM):And like within these alley walls, like there's the south walls doesn't feel much like alleys. It feels more just like a row of stuff here. I mean, and there's like full fledged built buildings made of stone.
You know, that's like library education on the history of the Whiskerlands. And there's just all these places to get. Get knowledge.
Nick (E'Louie):And.
Corey (DM):And you also see like artisan guild fighting guild, magic guild Things like that that are here.
Nick (E'Louie):Brewers guild.
Corey (DM):There doesn't seem to be a brewers guild, though, which is weird. Anonymous Alcoholics Anonymous guild. You see?
Nick (E'Louie):12 step even look.
Corey (DM):Yeah. Are we going to kind of work our way through the south wall to get to the center of town?
Lauren (EZ):Yeah.
Nathan (Stump):I think Stump is doing the same thing again, where he's kind of like going left, right, like going back, but he's got Eloise beard.
Corey (DM):Yeah.
Nathan (Stump):And. And for the visual, for the listener, Eloise is facing forward, but his beard is so long it's like going back behind him.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, yeah.
Nathan (Stump):Stump's holding it and he's kind of
Nathan (Stump):like, oh, there so many cool guys.
Nick (E'Louie):And then on the back of Stump's horse is Petunia's tail.
Nathan (Stump):And then Easy is.
Nick (E'Louie):Easy is holding on to the tail.
Nathan (Stump):How does easy feel?
Lauren (EZ):Yeah, Easy feels pretty. I'm just like taking it all in and I have like a big smile on my face and I'm just like holding the tail and I'm holding the reins and I'm just like.
Nathan (Stump):We're all kind of small town people, right?
Nathan (Stump):Yeah.
Nathan (Stump):This might be all of our first time in a big city.
Lauren (EZ):Is that just a couple of rubes in the big city?
Nathan (Stump):It's definitely Stump's first time in a big city. He's doing the big eyes.
Corey (DM):Whoa.
Nathan (Stump):The buildings are. They make them this big.
Nick (E'Louie):Eloise, a little more focused, and he's a little bit more like. He's smiling, you know, kind of nodding at.
Nathan (Stump):He's been around. He's seen this before.
Lauren (EZ):Been around the block.
Corey (DM):He's.
Nick (E'Louie):He's kind of looking out and seeing where we're at.
Corey (DM):Oh, absolutely. Yeah. And so you're like, okay, you're making your way through and you see a lot of people even like giving courses and stuff on the streets.
You make your way through the south wall, you get to the center, and as you make your way through another entryway into the center, you see just a gigantic temple in the center of the city. You see a lot of people in robes, Same thing, thing. You see a lot of cat ears. You see a lot of fur.
You actually see tabaxis, you know, which are feline species, people that are now the guards and more of the central area.
Nathan (Stump):Stump is like, real cat guy. Wow.
Nathan (Stump):A lot of them.
Corey (DM):And people are looking at you like, easy, easy there. Come on. Like, don't just start calling people out.
Nick (E'Louie):Just hang on, Stump. We're getting closer.
Nathan (Stump):Stump never see, so.
Lauren (EZ):And we know a little bit about Rum Tum Tugger, but not A whole.
Corey (DM):You've heard the name, basically, and we've
Lauren (EZ):been told to worship.
Corey (DM):Yes.
Lauren (EZ):And so wait, who told.
Nick (E'Louie):I mean, we've. We know that we should worship.
Lauren (EZ):Well, just there's been the axioms.
Corey (DM):At the very beginning, like, part of their speech was like, worship dumb dugger. And then y' all in finches even was like, make sure to worship her.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah, make sure.
Corey (DM):Yes. You know, this is his capital city, and that's this. And you see that there is a portrait of a cat God on this temple in the middle here.
So you see this? You see to the left, there is. You see a sign for the west wall area. Like the west end. You see the east end, and there's, like, a north end.
So where would you all like to go? Are we heading to the west wall?
Nick (E'Louie):Yes, we're going to the west wall area.
Nathan (Stump):Seconded, as it says here on the note.
Nick (E'Louie):The R dash field.
Corey (DM):Wwa wwe R dash L dash L.
Lauren (EZ):Stone Cold Steve Austin. Okay. Our WI FI password. Let's go.
Corey (DM):Absolutely. Okay, so, yeah, you make your way to the west walls. As you get there. Yeah. You notice that the.
The west area is not as, like, upkept as the other areas. Although there does seem to be more people in the west side.
Lauren (EZ):Is it the ghetto?
Corey (DM):Not necessarily the ghetto. No. This seems to be where more of the open trade stuff happens.
Nathan (Stump):Are there people with cat ears on this side still?
Corey (DM):Oh, yeah.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, yeah.
Nathan (Stump):There definitely over here, too, but there
Corey (DM):seems to be more alternate races and stuff over here.
Nathan (Stump):Okay, okay.
Corey (DM):On the west side, and there is a giant, you know, round entryway. Do we make our way into the west wall region?
Nick (E'Louie):Sorry, I was rolling for fun.
Lauren (EZ):What did you.
Nick (E'Louie):Definitely rolled a three. And that means that we should make our way into the west wall.
Nathan (Stump):I just looked it up in the D and D handbook. It says three means go in.
Lauren (EZ):That's to the west wall.
Nick (E'Louie):Yes.
Lauren (EZ):Okay.
Nathan (Stump):That's crazy.
Lauren (EZ):Okay, good job, guys.
Corey (DM):As you enter the west walls, you are presented with another wall in front of you.
Nick (E'Louie):You.
Corey (DM):And you see, you can turn left to go down the alleys there, or you can turn right to go down the alleys.
Nathan (Stump):Don't remember what was it? We go right. Left, left, right, west.
Lauren (EZ):And now it's time for the show
Nathan (Stump):where we go. Who has not. It's here.
Nick (E'Louie):We go right. Right. It says here, right here on the note. We. We decide to go right. Okay.
Corey (DM):Yeah, if you go right. So as you go right, you notice that. Yeah. Sure enough, in these west walls, this is the open market. There Are fish stalls. There are weapon stalls.
You are seeing Anything you can imagine to buy is kind of weapons. All kinds of weapons.
Nathan (Stump):They got any of them pointy ones
Corey (DM):like are you gonna stop? And one alter from your course.
Nathan (Stump):Are you axes over there?
Nick (E'Louie):There.
Corey (DM):Oh yeah.
Nathan (Stump):Good looking axes.
Corey (DM):Oh yeah.
Nathan (Stump):Stump is like leaning over but Petunia is going towards where they are. But he's leaning at the.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, Stump could use no ax.
Nick (E'Louie):Let's. Let's check and see what the prices are.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah, why don't we.
Nathan (Stump):Oh great.
Nick (E'Louie):We could look at. We'll look at a staff.
Corey (DM):Hey, welcome, welcome. Come on up.
Nick (E'Louie):What you doing?
Nick (E'Louie):Hurry up.
Corey (DM):What do you want? What do you want? What are you looking for? What are you looking for? I got everything that you need. What are you looking for?
Nathan (Stump):Too fast.
Corey (DM):We gotta make it fast.
Nick (E'Louie):There's lot a.
Corey (DM):A lot of people coming to town today, Stump.
Nathan (Stump):Require the sharp flat on a stick, my friend.
Nick (E'Louie):Means an axe.
Nathan (Stump):Yes, an axe.
Corey (DM):Are we looking Battle axe, Single axe. What are we looking for? One hand, two hand.
Nathan (Stump):Is. Are all of your axes single or any of them taken?
Nathan (Stump):Just kidding.
Nathan (Stump):Stop. Want battle axe.
Corey (DM):Battle axe, Battle ax.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah.
Corey (DM):That's going to cost you 45 vouchers for the cheapest one that we got.
Nick (E'Louie):He's got
Nick (E'Louie):a good look. What?
Nathan (Stump):Leave already? Sounds like good deal.
Nick (E'Louie):Well, yes, but as soon as we
Nick (E'Louie):have 45 vouchers them. How many vouchers do you have?
Corey (DM):If you're going to talk, please step aside. We got lots of other customers coming in.
Lauren (EZ):Oh goodness.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay. Thank you sir. We'll be back.
Corey (DM):It's nice to meet you.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Corey (DM):Come back when you got more vouchers.
Nathan (Stump):Okay.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, that was quick disappointment.
Nick (E'Louie):Well friends, we've got a long way to go here, don't we?
Nathan (Stump):Stump was going to ask if perhaps he could lay the axe away maybe and pay later. But we have to go.
Lauren (EZ):Wait.
Nick (E'Louie):I don't know where we go. Okay.
Corey (DM):Okay. So as you, you know, make your way through there, eventually you come to another bit of a crossroads. There is a. An alley that cuts to the left.
You can keep going or you can keep going straight.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah, I've got the here. Let's go left from here.
Nathan (Stump):Yeah, left at this rate.
Nick (E'Louie):So right.
Corey (DM):I'm just kidding. Yeah, left. Yeah. As soon as you turn left this place you see a lot of like potions being sold.
But they're not called potions, you know, they're like health elixirs and oh potions need this too. So you see a lot of that stuff going On. And as you make your way a little further, you see that it keeps going straight.
Or you can go left or you can actually go right at this next crossroads.
Lauren (EZ):Which way?
Nick (E'Louie):Let's go left again.
Lauren (EZ):Well, hang a Lucy.
Nathan (Stump):Yes.
Corey (DM):All right. Left, Lucy, left. You hang a Lucy. Yes. You go left again and eventually you come to another crossroads. You can go left, right or straight again.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, Stump. No S for south.
Nick (E'Louie):No, no, no, we're going to go straight.
Corey (DM):This straight. Absolutely. As you keep going straight, man, you're getting into even more and more stuff. You're seeing like, like furniture being sold.
You're seeing like little model houses. Guys, they have a place here no
Nathan (Stump):one could live in. What is this house for ants?
Corey (DM):They're called model homes that they can be built for you.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, we have to get. Guys, guys.
Lauren (EZ):Home for ants.
Nick (E'Louie):I don't see how this can help us on our journey.
Nathan (Stump):Well, sometimes a thing don't really functional, but it served the spirit.
Lauren (EZ):I feel like.
Nick (E'Louie):That's right.
Nick (E'Louie):I feel like I can see your point. It's a very beautiful ant house.
Lauren (EZ):If like given the opportunity. I feel like Stump would have a gambling problem.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, Stump would have every problem.
Corey (DM):Absolutely. Eventually you get to a wall and as you hit this wall, you can go left or you can go right.
Lauren (EZ):Which way?
Nick (E'Louie):We'll go right here.
Lauren (EZ):Okay.
Corey (DM):Right. Absolutely. And same thing.
You turn right and you're realizing like these alleys are pretty dense and they're just so like there's not like there, there is not a lack of shops and markets going on here. It is crazy.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah.
Corey (DM):And as you're going, eventually you get to another spot where you can turn right or you keep going straight.
Nick (E'Louie):Let's go straight here. Yes. And then we'll. We'll turn left on the next one.
Corey (DM):As you're going a little further, you. You keep walking, you come to another bit of crossroads. You see that it goes right, you see that it keeps going straight.
And you of kind can barely notice that there's an alleyway to the left. It seems much smaller than the other ones have been. And there seems to be like stuff kind of blocking this alley. But it does turn to the left.
So you can go left, straight or right.
Nick (E'Louie):Look, I think we can go left here and we need to so.
Nick (E'Louie):And can we take the horses there?
Corey (DM):Probably not down this last alley. It's getting too tight down here.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay, so Eloise is.
Nick (E'Louie):I don't want this mount here. And we can leave the horses aside and so that we can go down this alley. We have to go left here, and it's a very small one.
Lauren (EZ):Do we have, like, a horse lock?
Nick (E'Louie):Well, it looks like there may be something here we can tie it to.
Lauren (EZ):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):Maybe something on the wall.
Nathan (Stump):Stump cannot tie down the free spirit of Petunia.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, that's true.
Nathan (Stump):But he can ask her to politely wait.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, okay.
Corey (DM):And surprisingly, like, Petunia, like, almost gives you a bow.
Nathan (Stump):Me and Petunia got a connection?
Corey (DM):I think so. There's some weird connection.
Lauren (EZ):Respect each other.
Nathan (Stump):Stump bows back.
Corey (DM):You make your way into this alley that you barely kind of noticed. You notice that it. It gets smaller as you go down. And you notice that they're like, isn't it comes to a dead end, basically.
You don't see anybody around. You do see that there's just a lot of, like, draperies hanging on the side, and you come to a wall.
So it's an alley that comes and it comes to a dead end.
Nathan (Stump):Okay, so now we go X. Which way is that? Is X like. Like, down?
Nick (E'Louie):I think we must be here. Usually X marks the spot stone.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, so this is Spot.
Nick (E'Louie):This is. Yes.
Nathan (Stump):Hello, Spot.
Lauren (EZ):Who will.
Nathan (Stump):Where is he?
Nick (E'Louie):I don't know that it's a person. It's just a place that we are supposed to arrive.
Lauren (EZ):Is there any. Is there anything there?
Nathan (Stump):Can I do a perception check?
Corey (DM):You sure can.
Lauren (EZ):Can we all do that?
Corey (DM):You all can.
Lauren (EZ):Okay, I'm gonna wear my tiny dice at.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, that is a 14 plus 2. I got a 16.
Corey (DM):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):E has a 6.
Corey (DM):Okay.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, man. Tiny dice has been failing me. So perception. I have a nine.
Corey (DM):Nine. So the. So easy and Eloi, you're, like, looking and trying to find things. You know, you're like, is this it?
Corey (DM):Is this a spot?
Corey (DM):Do we just stay here? Stump, as you're kind of, like, looking around and trying to figure things out, you're.
Nick (E'Louie):You're.
Corey (DM):You start picking things up, you know, looking, and you're like, oh, it doesn't really seem like anything's here. And you put your arm out to, like, rest on the wall on, like, this blanket. But you realize the blanket is just covering, like, a doorway.
And you fall right through it as you, like, put your weight. And it rips this, like, blanket down that was covering this do doorway. And as you all go to look at Stump, you see him laying down.
And behind him, you see a group of human men just, like, in a meeting and talking. And they all turn around.
Nathan (Stump):Hello.
Nick (E'Louie):What.
Lauren (EZ):What shoes are they wearing?
Corey (DM):They're wearing shoes with, like, an N marked into them.
Nick (E'Louie):Hello.
Nick (E'Louie):We've come to meet you. We've got a note here that asks to us to. To be here.
Nathan (Stump):Sorry about your blanket.
Nick (E'Louie):We're friendly. And you'll have to forgive my friend. He's a little big and he's kind of clumsy.
Nick (E'Louie):What?
Nick (E'Louie):What?
Corey (DM):They're all like, kind of flabbergasted. Like, what? We're. We're just. What are we. What are we doing, a dinner date?
Nathan (Stump):Well, you guys must have also gotten the note.
Corey (DM):What? What? What. What note? We don't know anything about any notes.
Nick (E'Louie):Who.
Corey (DM):Who are you all?
Nick (E'Louie):Well, the letters and E. Louie starts frantically, kind of like putting the blanket back up on and he's like trying to put it back where it was, like. What?
Nick (E'Louie):What? What? We were instructed to. To come here, but we're here to join the. The group here. Oh, my. My name is Elu.
Corey (DM):What group are you talking about? We don't. We don't know what you're talking about.
Nick (E'Louie):What group? Group?
Corey (DM):We're just a bunch of buds out here hanging out. What are you talking about?
Nathan (Stump):We're.
Lauren (EZ):We're buds that want to hang too.
Corey (DM):Are you gonna actually show them the note?
Lauren (EZ):Yes.
Nick (E'Louie):Yes. Yeah, we have a note here and from. From some of your friends and some of your kin holds the note out
Corey (DM):and he takes it and looks at it and he's like, oh, no, Derek. It's got your signature on it, Derek. And you see a guy come out, he's like, what? What I do you. This is a note from you. Who did you send this to?
I. I sent that to Bruce. Old Bruce Halfacre. Well, I don't know who these guys are, but they got the note.
Nick (E'Louie):Well, yeah, they. They left it for us. We went to see them and see, and they've left the note for us and asked us to come here. So we're here to be. To support.
Lauren (EZ):He sent. Bruce sends his regards.
Corey (DM):Well, I heard they got picked up. What happened?
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, that was a terrible happening. It was a terrible happening thing.
Nick (E'Louie):And then he looks back at Easy and Stump and he's like, what are we gonna do?
Nathan (Stump):Well, Stump was in grass at time, so espionage. Don't know about Bruce, but Stump could answer questions if you have about grass. What you want to know.
Corey (DM):That's what I'm at. What do you wanna know? What do you mention about grass for?
Nathan (Stump):Like, grass is green.
Corey (DM):Yes, grass is green.
Nathan (Stump):Grass sometimes smell like grass.
Nick (E'Louie):And I think you'll find here that our friend Stump, he loves to.
Nick (E'Louie):And Louis kind of looks around and
Nick (E'Louie):he says he loves to cut the grass. And he's.
Nick (E'Louie):I would like to do a persuasion to get them to like, like us.
Corey (DM):Okay.
Nick (E'Louie):Or to accept us.
Nathan (Stump):Nice.
Corey (DM):Persuasion.
Corey (DM):Check.
Nick (E'Louie):Okay, here we go. Piece of cake. Nine minus one is going to be a whopping eight.
Nathan (Stump):Solace is two.
Lauren (EZ):I. I do the same thing. So I will try to back him up. I will try to persuade. Because I really did want to be their. The dad's friend. Your friends took good care of us.
We threw down a couple of beers with them and shared a burger. And we just wanted to hear a little bit more about the cause that you are.
Nick (E'Louie):I. And. And easy. Tell them about the nomos that we took out. We took out.
Lauren (EZ):Oh, yeah. And. And we took out some noos.
Nathan (Stump):They are.
Corey (DM):No, we heard tales of that. Go ahead and roll.
Lauren (EZ):Okay. Oh, okay, Perfect. So. So it's a tails. Is this a performance? Can I do performance Persuasion? Okay, so it's a 60.
Corey (DM):Okay. 16. Okay. Well, we did hear rumors.
Lauren (EZ):And I'm like a battle flexing or like, should I assist?
Nathan (Stump):Can I assist?
Corey (DM):I mean, no. That was pretty good.
Nathan (Stump):Okay.
Corey (DM):And he's gonna say, what were the names of the ones who sent you?
Lauren (EZ):So there was.
Nathan (Stump):They were really good names, but Half
Lauren (EZ):Acre, and then there was Tony Daryl. Daryl.
Nick (E'Louie):Daryl helped us.
Lauren (EZ):Tony Danza.
Corey (DM):You hear a guy in the back say, has anybody heard from Timothy Clean Cut?
Lauren (EZ):Oh, Timothy Clean Cut.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, yeah.
Corey (DM):That's two.
Nick (E'Louie):And Kid Rock's name was his real name.
Nathan (Stump):Well, we did Man Jazz.
Nathan (Stump):But that they.
Nathan (Stump):They liked Man Jazz Night Joe.
Corey (DM):Yeah.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah, that's right.
Corey (DM):No, no, no, no. Cotton Eye Joe was one of the guys that Adventure adventuring party. It wasn't one of the Mowing dads. It was the adventuring party.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, that's right.
Corey (DM):You gotta name one more cut.
Nick (E'Louie):Bill.
Lauren (EZ):Bill.
Nick (E'Louie):I'll be damned if the guy's name isn't Bill.
Corey (DM):Not Bill.
Nick (E'Louie):Dad Gummet.
Lauren (EZ):Dad Gummy.
Corey (DM):Not Steve. He's like, you got one more. You keep throwing these names out. You got one more chance.
Nick (E'Louie):And I said, would you like a pint of beer? I've got some here on my back.
Corey (DM):And hearing that they're like, starts whispering. Everyone, they. They kind of walk past you and make sure, like, it's shut. They, like, start adding more layers to, like, keep everything quiet.
And they're like, hell, yeah, we want to party. Well, what old Bruce Halfacre have to say that some will be like, yeah, I missed that guy. I've seen him in a while.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, yeah, he's just doing his thing. You know.
Nick (E'Louie):Yes, you'd see his yard. Oh, it's immaculate.
Lauren (EZ):It.
Nick (E'Louie):I've never seen anything like it.
Corey (DM):Yeah, it's beautiful.
Lauren (EZ):They.
Nick (E'Louie):Stump helped him cut it down and he helped, you know, make it trim and nice and beautiful.
Corey (DM):Oh yeah, you're one of the cutters. Yeah, that's what we like to know.
Nathan (Stump):Stump thought he was not supposed to.
Nick (E'Louie):Well, yeah, he.
Nick (E'Louie):That's the funny.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah, he's such a joker. He likes to cut the grass, actually. Just give him an ax and give
Nick (E'Louie):him some grass and watch him go.
Nathan (Stump):Very funny.
Nick (E'Louie):So have a drink.
Corey (DM):Were you really sent here? You here to help us for the cause?
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, absolutely.
Lauren (EZ):I say let what you know.
Nick (E'Louie):They're very kind to you, weren't they?
Lauren (EZ):They, they were like truly. And I just, I would like to just know more and then maybe we can, you know, join forces here.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah, we don't know too much.
Nick (E'Louie):Actually.
Nick (E'Louie):This is kind of our second interaction. We had such a wonderful time with those fellas. Eating the meat. Meat and drinking the beer, eating the meat. We were eating so much meat, they
Nick (E'Louie):gave us the meat.
Corey (DM):He's like, well, my, well, my name is Mike Turfson. I got, we got Kevin Mulch right back there. We got Allie and Sodwick over here. And you met Derek Longfall. Yeah, we're. Yeah, we're known as the Edgers.
We're the ones who kind of go out and recruit new people and so I'm glad someone got the note and heard everything. So, hey, we're just having our meeting, so come, come on in. Let's get. Let's get to business.
Nathan (Stump):All right, I, I got Mike Turfson, Kevin Mulch, Derek Longfall. What was that other one?
Corey (DM):Alan Sodwick.
Nathan (Stump):Thank you.
Lauren (EZ):Where can we get.
Nick (E'Louie):Here's a round on me and E takes off. Elu takes off his cask and he's dishing out beer.
Lauren (EZ):Yeah. Where can we get some of these shoes?
Nathan (Stump):Yeah.
Nathan (Stump):You guys seem to have such good balance.
Corey (DM):Yes, well, that's part of our thing. We're trying to bring a new balance to this world. So true. That's kind of our signature. Trademark.
Nathan (Stump):It's amazing. Trademark.
Nick (E'Louie):Yeah. Well, you can pick us up. We were in a market. We should have picked up some. What were we thinking?
Corey (DM):No, these are special. These are special. You have to earn these.
Nathan (Stump):Oh, do you have size 19?
Corey (DM):We have up to size 4.
Lauren (EZ):Size 4.
Nathan (Stump):Perfect small feet.
Nick (E'Louie):That'll work for me.
Nick (E'Louie):Size.
Corey (DM):Well, hey, we're just about to have our meeting, so we got to be hush hush about this, all right? Right now we got some very sensitive information. All right, Derek, take a. Take it back over. All right, guys, well, here's the thing.
We, we found out what we're going to do later today about 6 p.
Nathan (Stump):No, could you speak up?
Corey (DM):That could be people listening. Stop.
Nathan (Stump):Can't hear.
Nick (E'Louie):I'll fill you in. Let speak up.
Corey (DM):Okay, at all right. At 6pm tonight, we've got the cruise ready. And he's like, there's.
There's like more than those four that have introduced themselves, you know, kind of hanging around, around. He's like, about 6pm tonight, we got the cruise ready. We're gonna hit right outside the walls. We're gonna go for it.
We're going to just mow and mow and mow until they take us over.
Nick (E'Louie):That'll show them.
Corey (DM):No, no, here's the thing. No, this is just a distraction. This is just a distraction now. And once they.
Everyone's distracted and starts freaking out over the mo's, he's like, you brought the shields, right? Yeah. And he. They start talking about these bubble shields that they're going to use to like, cover themselves.
You hear them say it lasts about an hour. So once they break through those shields, they're going to go to jail.
But that gives them an hour to like mow as much as they can without people breaking into that bubble shield.
He says, now while we're distracting, we've got all our operatives hitting the smaller towns because all everyone's going to come here to Rumsfield to try to snuff this out. And while we're distracting him, we got all the crews are going to hit the smaller towns and we're going to just annihilate that.
We're going to get the grass down. And the minute they're talking, you just see whoosh. As those blankets are strewn upon and thrown to the side. And you see a bunch of Tabaxi soldiers.
Nick (E'Louie):Oh, no.
Corey (DM):Coming through the door. And you hear one of them say, is that them? And you see this little gray goblin in red suspenders that son of a.
Come to the side and he says, there they are officers. I read their notes. I knew exactly where they were going.
Corey (DM):And that's them. Get them.
Nick (E'Louie):Krauss Divan. Kraus.
Corey (DM):No. Quest happens.
Corey (DM):Is Nick Jackson as Eloi. Lauren Keller as Esmeralda Fitzmonster. Nathan Guidry as Stump. And I am your dungeon master, Corey Keller.
Catch us every other Thursday as a new episode drops and we'll see you in the next adventure.
Lauren (EZ):All holes are welcome.
Nick (E'Louie):I don't know if that's the right thing to say.
