Shownotes

By 2020, Millennials will make up one third of the global workforce. We’ve all heard a lot of people with a lot of opinions about millennials, and there are some pretty negative stereotypes out there today – But the fact is, these stereotypes (at least for the most part) are flat-out wrong.

Sarah Sparks and Deirdra DiVittis are two of our younger team members here at Rea. We are fortunate to have some really great young talent on our team here at Rea so we brought them on unsuitable on Rea Radio to ask them about what attracts them to a job and what keeps them here.

Don’t Believe Everything You Hear...

For example, have you heard that millennials are lazy? Maybe something about participation trophies?

Well, most of them work more than 40 hours a week and a good chunk of them will work around 50 hours without batting an eyelash. Contrary to what you may have heard before, there are some really hard working millennials out there – you just have to know where to find them and what to offer them!

If you want hire the great young talent that will become your organization’s future leadership, you will be interested in these other topics discussed in this episode:

  • Why you should embrace different backgrounds, education, and training
  • What many prospective young employees are looking for when choosing a company to work for
  • Why, even when you have young talent on the payroll, you have to make an ongoing effort to keep them
