The "Small Questions"
Most of the decisions facing us everyday ("Small Questions") sit on top of deeper about what it means to be human in a world with other human beings. These small questions include things like:
- What should I do next?
- What am I supposed to be doing for a living?
- How do I resolve this issue?
The "Big Questions"
Sitting with the "Big Questions" can help. Developing a relationship with them inform us to on how to navigate the "Small Questions" in a way that feels much more grounded.
"Big Questions" include things like:
- What is my purpose?
- How am I with not knowing things?
- How am I with endings?
- How am I with life's ambiguity and volatility?
When people don't have a grounding in these kinds of questions, life can feel meaningless, externally driven and without a solid sense of purpose. By creating a relationship with these issues, it can make creating a meaningful and purposeful life much clearer and easier.
