Shownotes

Quick heads up... We recorded this episode with different equipment, and there is a little bit of clicking towards the beginning of the episode. Ok, now for the show notes...

We spent sometime together this last weekend to plan for the pod, knock out a bunch of work together, and of course relax and enjoy each others company. We recorded this conversation while we were at it.

The idea for this particular episode came from the book "The Women Who Run with Wolves" in which one of the stories the author Clarissa Pinkola Estes explains the importance of asking yourself the right questions. She believes that is the key to finding the answers we seek in life. We found this idea to be very interesting since... well, basically all our episodes are titled questions. Not to mention, we both utilize journaling for our mental health and growth and our journal entries begin with asking ourselves a question.

We spend this time sharing how we personally use journaling as a tool and in many different forms. We each have multiple journals such as one for gratitude, or a happy journal, writing down memories for our loved ones, one for stream of consciousness writing, and for record keeping of events that we experience. One of the points that we felt compelled to share is that there are so many different ways to journal, and there isn't one way or one right way to do it.

There are a lot of different ways to heal from situations in our past, and we name a few of those. The best thing about journaling is how accessible it is to anyone. A plain notebook and pen, a fancy journal with an empowering message on the cover, voice memo or notes app on your phone, a picture with colors, or a plain piece of paper and pencil. Some options are expensive, journaling doesn't have to be.

If you would like to receive printable journal prompts, or read our journal entries to get a good idea of how we process our emotions and experiences, head over to Patreon to get access to exclusive content such as journaling tools and much more.

If you would like to read along with us we are reading "The Women Who Run with Wolves" grab a copy and get ready to share your thoughts and insights, or just grow immensely as Clarissa expands your mind!

Lastly, we reference Headspace again in this episode. If your interested in meditation, this is an incredible resource.

We hope you enjoy this episode. If you know someone who might enjoy this conversation, please share it! Thank you for your time today!
