Humanity was originally designed by God to have authority over both the physical and spiritual realms of the Earth. Adam and Eve, created in the image of God, were given full control over the Earth. However, their disobedience led to the transfer of this authority to the enemy. But through Jesus' sacrifice, the devil was defeated, and that authority was returned to humanity.
