There are many similarities between music and languages. Both can communicate to others, make you laugh or cry. Words and music can both heal.

There are obvious similarities:

Letters, words/chords, phrases/sentences, dialogue and stories/musical pieces.

Musically it is possible to have a conversation between musicians. By playing things certain ways, you can ask someone to play something a certain way and have them respond back musically without saying a word.

The universality of music is different from our spoken languages. It is possible for musicians to speak completely different languages and still be able to communicate without needing to say a word to each other.

Another way that music is different from spoken languages is that it's based in beauty. Because of that, you can't hurt someone with music.

Please take this week to listen to others. Find out what they need and help them. Don't just think about yourself.

Thank you for listening and please subscribe!
