Shownotes

Section 1

When Laban and Bethuel recognized that God had directed Eliezer's journey, the servant's immediate response was to bow before the Lord in worship. Dr. Dave emphasizes that Eliezer was not concerned with how others viewed his expression of gratitude but with honoring the God who had faithfully answered his prayers. Genuine worship is never performed to impress people but flows naturally from a heart overwhelmed by God's goodness. Whether expressed quietly or passionately, worship should always be directed toward the Lord alone.

Section 2

Although the hardest part of Eliezer's assignment had been accomplished, he understood that the mission was not yet complete. After presenting gifts and sharing a meal with Rebekah's family, he was eager to continue the journey because his responsibility was to bring her safely back to Isaac. Dr. Dave reminds believers that faithfulness is measured not merely by beginning well but by persevering until God has completed the work He has entrusted to them. A calling is fulfilled only when the Lord declares the mission finished.

Section 3

God calls His people to remain faithful throughout every season of ministry, never assuming their work is finished while He continues to provide opportunities to serve. Dr. Dave points to Jesus Himself, whose ministry continued after His resurrection as He ascended to the Father's right hand and now intercedes for His people. In the same way, Christians are encouraged to keep serving, praying, and following the Lord with perseverance. No matter how many years they have walked with Christ, they are called to finish faithfully until the day He brings their earthly ministry to its perfect completion.
