there's something here for you.

6

Pull up a chair and listen in for

insightful real-life conversations

7

:

and actionable steps on how to claim

8

:

If you're a woman desiring to live

a Christ-centered life in today's

9

:

modern world, then this is for you.

10

:

Welcome to Everbe.

11

:

mari-_3_05-27-2026_092050: Welcome

back to the Everbe podcast.

12

:

This is your host Mari, and

today it's just gonna be me to…

13

:

I don't even know what I'm saying.

14

:

Okay, hold on.

15

:

Give me a second.

16

:

What am I saying?

17

:

Welcome back to the Everbe podcast.

18

:

This is your host, Mari Wagner,

and today it's just gonna be me.

19

:

I'm excited to spend some

time with you guys today.

20

:

It's gonna be, I think, kind

of a short and sweet episode.

21

:

I wanna share just something that's

been on my heart, in my prayer, that

22

:

is already bra- bearing a lot of fruit,

um, and might be helpful to you guys.

23

:

And then gonna give a little

update on the podcast and what

24

:

it's gonna look like this summer.

25

:

Um, 'cause we're gonna do a little

shift this summer, so I'm just gonna

26

:

give you a little bit of a roadmap of

what to expect for the next few months.

27

:

But first, I'm kicking it off with

my Everbe moment for the I got the

28

:

opportunity to go on one of the

Sisters of Life silent retreats.

29

:

They do, um, these different women

retreats throughout the year.

30

:

I think it's maybe twice a year.

31

:

I think they have one in the

fall and then one in the spring.

32

:

They might have more than that,

but when it comes to, like, the

33

:

women's silent retreat that I did,

I think they have those two options.

34

:

And I signed up for their spring

one, so this past Memorial Day

35

:

weekend, I was able to go on retreat

with them, and it was so beautiful.

36

:

And I don't know about you guys,

but this happens to me all the

37

:

time, where, like, the days leading

up to a retreat, for some reason I

38

:

just, like, don't wanna go anymore.

39

:

And I had been excited about this retreat

for months, but the days leading up were

40

:

just kind of stressful, and I was just

like, "I have too much on my to-do list.

41

:

Like, there's no way I can

just leave for a whole weekend.

42

:

I have to do my to-do list.

43

:

Like, I'm gonna come…

44

:

If I miss out on that to-do list,

I'm gonna, like, come back even

45

:

more stressed than before," right?

46

:

Which, like, those are the lies the enemy

tries to tell us before we go on retreat.

47

:

Because what do we know about the Lord?

48

:

When we give him our time, he

gives it back in abundance.

49

:

He gives it back twofold, hundredfold.

50

:

So yeah, I was trying to convince myself,

"If I go give time to the Lord this

51

:

weekend, I'm not gonna feel rested.

52

:

I'm gonna feel more stressed,"

which is, like, absolute bogus.

53

:

So, um, luckily Trey was

like, "You should go.

54

:

Like, it's okay.

55

:

I think you'll, I think

you'll feel better if you go."

56

:

But he was like, "If you

really, really are so stressed,

57

:

like, you don't have to go."

58

:

And so he was like, "Why don't you just,

like, take some time to pray about it?"

59

:

This is a crazy thing that happened.

60

:

So Wednesday night, Thursday,

I was, like, pretty convinced,

61

:

and like, "I'm not gonna go.

62

:

Like, I shouldn't go.

63

:

I have too much to do."

64

:

Um, we just have a lot of stuff left

to do for the adoption, and we're gonna

65

:

be going live here in about five weeks,

and so time's really ticking, right?

66

:

And so I'm, like, super hyper-focused on

that, but I draw myself a bubble bath, and

67

:

I go to pray a rosary with the Hallow app.

68

:

And I pray, and then after it's over,

I just, like, say a prayer literally

69

:

out loud, and I was like, "Lord, if you

really want me to go on this retreat,

70

:

like, you have to be very clear with me.

71

:

I hope I wake up tomorrow morning

knowing very clearly whether it is

72

:

your will that I go or not, because in

the end, I just wanna do your will."

73

:

And then I just kind of was

scrolling through the Hallow app to

74

:

see what else they have on there.

75

:

I usually use it to pray the rosary

or the daily readings with Jeff Cavins

76

:

and Jonathan Roumie, and every now and

then for some other random thing, but

77

:

that's what I use it for consistently.

78

:

And I was just wanting to explore

what else they have on there, and

79

:

they have literally so much on there.

80

:

And so I was looking through podcasts

'cause I was, like, wanting to find

81

:

new Catholic podcasts to listen to.

82

:

I haven't listened to a Catholic

podcast in a long time, and I saw

83

:

the Sisters of Life have one, which

maybe everybody already knew this,

84

:

but I didn't really know this.

85

:

The Sisters of Life have a podcast.

86

:

Um, I think it's called Let Live, and

I was like, "Well, this is fitting.

87

:

Let me just click on, you know,

one of their episodes and just

88

:

rest here in my bath and, you

know, see what they're all about."

89

:

And I scroll back a couple months.

90

:

Like, this wasn't the most recent episode.

91

:

It was a random episode from

Lent, um, about your thoughts,

92

:

like the power of your thoughts.

93

:

And so I clicked on it, and within the

first f- five to maybe 10 minutes, Sister

94

:

Mary Grace is on there, and she's like,

"By the way, one of my favorite parts of

95

:

our ministries is our silent retreats.

96

:

Um, if you ever get the chance to go on

one, you should definitely go because

97

:

it's so important to spend a weekend away,

you know, letting our thoughts, um, you

98

:

know, we're engaging with our thoughts

and really letting the silence in."

99

:

And I was just like, "Are you kidding me?"

100

:

How does that happen?

101

:

Like- That was a very quickly answered

prayer, and that was nothing but

102

:

clarity, which was what I had asked for.

103

:

I was like, "Lord, I need

clarity by tomorrow morning."

104

:

And he was like, "Give

me five minutes, girl."

105

:

And then he gave me that podcast episode.

106

:

And again, like, the, the episode

title had said nothing about

107

:

retreats, nothing about silence.

108

:

It was from months ago.

109

:

It was a random episode from months

ago, and literally within the first

110

:

10 minutes, Sister Mary Grace was

like, "I love our silent retreats.

111

:

You should absolutely go if you

have the chance to go on one."

112

:

Um, so I was like, "Yep.

113

:

Okay.

114

:

Well, guess I'm going."

115

:

Um, and I went, and it was so beautiful.

116

:

Like, so glad I went.

117

:

Absolutely what I needed in the

midst of just a busy time and a

118

:

stressful time where we have a lot

of deadlines coming up with all the

119

:

different projects we're working on.

120

:

Um, and my to-do list could wait because

I did come back so much more rested,

121

:

and it was not, like, necessarily a

physical rest, 'cause I don't sleep

122

:

that great, like, away from home.

123

:

So, like, you know, it's

just, like, retreat vibes.

124

:

Like, I didn't sleep super great, and

the food was, like, you know, all right.

125

:

So it's not like I was, like,

physically super rested.

126

:

But, like, spiritually and emotionally

and mentally, yeah, like, there was a

127

:

restoration that just came from being

away and being in the presence of

128

:

Jesus for extended amounts of time.

129

:

I mean, I spent like hours in adoration,

and the silence was so rejuvenating.

130

:

And you were able to have

a, like, spiritual direction

131

:

meeting with a sister as well.

132

:

So I went on a walk with Sister Jordan

Rose, and we just chatted, and it

133

:

was just so beautiful to have her…

134

:

I mean, the Sisters of Life, like,

I've been calling them like the

135

:

real-life Disney princesses, right?

136

:

They're just the gentlest souls, the most

joyful souls, the sweetest souls, and

137

:

they encounter you and truly just see you.

138

:

It's like they see you with so much love.

139

:

And so sharing my life with

this sister was just, like,

140

:

the most healing thing ever.

141

:

Um, and they sang, and it

was, like, so beautiful.

142

:

And the venue was gorgeous.

143

:

It was nestled in the

mountains in Colorado.

144

:

And so I don't know if any of y'all

saw my Instagram story when I shared

145

:

about it, but it was, like, gorgeous

snow-capped mountains i- as the view

146

:

behind the window of the chapel.

147

:

Like, what?

148

:

Yeah.

149

:

Gorgeous.

150

:

So that was definitely my Everbe moment

and my reminder to you, go on retreat.

151

:

Like, you need it.

152

:

Like, I need it.

153

:

You need it.

154

:

Oh, Bodhi's rolling around.

155

:

I bet you can hear him

156

:

Go on retreat.

157

:

Like, you need it.

158

:

I needed it.

159

:

Bodie, stop it

160

:

We all need to go on retreat, and what

I have noticed is that as an adult, you

161

:

do those kind of things less and less.

162

:

Because when you're growing up, when

you're a kid, when you're in high

163

:

school, when you're in college, it's

like those things are just offered for

164

:

youth, like in youth group environments.

165

:

There'll be some sort of retreat

or some sort of conference, right?

166

:

Like the Steubenville conferences or in

college, there's different retreats that

167

:

your ministry might put on, your Newman

Center might put on, or there's SEEK.

168

:

Like, there's all these different

offerings for Us as we grow up, um, in our

169

:

faith life, and then we get to adulthood,

and then you have to go seek it.

170

:

Like, there's not always just a Newman

Center right there that's offering

171

:

you a bunch of events and retreats,

and there's not a youth group.

172

:

And if you're lucky, I mean, maybe

you're a part of a great parish that

173

:

does offer these things, or you are

a part of a women's group or a Bible

174

:

study that makes these invitations.

175

:

And even if you are, my encouragement

to you is say yes to the invitations

176

:

because I think even for me, like, it's

easy for me to sit in the pews and hear

177

:

something being offered at the parish

and just being like, "That's nice.

178

:

It doesn't apply to me," right?

179

:

But, like, no, it does.

180

:

Like, take the invitation.

181

:

Go on these retreats or go seek them out.

182

:

I realized I had not been on a retreat in,

like, years, and it's really good, healthy

183

:

practice to go on a retreat once a year.

184

:

And it doesn't have to

be a big, long thing.

185

:

It doesn't even have to be expensive,

or you don't even have to travel

186

:

for it if you're not able to.

187

:

But, like, even just taking at least one

full day of silence a year for yourself.

188

:

So, like, last year, I

didn't get to go on retreat.

189

:

I've been wanting to go on

retreat for a couple years, and

190

:

I just, like, I haven't done it.

191

:

And last year, I, there was a whole

podcast episode about this last May,

192

:

honestly, around this time, where I

went to an abbey, um, of, I believe,

193

:

cloistered nuns close to where I live.

194

:

And I went, and I just spent a

day of silence there by myself.

195

:

I brought my own prayer things.

196

:

I brought my paints and my canvas,

and I spent, like, eight hours there

197

:

in adoration, walking the grounds,

praying, just being outside with the

198

:

Lord, reading spiritual books, painting.

199

:

Like, just taking a day

of retreat for myself.

200

:

So at least if you could do one full day,

it would be so restorative, and the Lord

201

:

will use it, and he will speak to you,

and he will meet you in that silence.

202

:

Um, but if you're able to do

a weekend, definitely do it.

203

:

Um, this is the encouragement I needed to

hear last week when I was doubting going.

204

:

So if you have a retreat coming up and

you're doubting going, listen to me

205

:

right now because you just keep going.

206

:

You signed up.

207

:

Go.

208

:

It's gonna be worth it.

209

:

It's gonna be good.

210

:

Um, so yeah, that's my

encouragement for you today.

211

:

That's my Everbe moment.

212

:

And one thing that really came out of the

retreat, which I want to talk about today

213

:

and share with you, is the theme of trust.

214

:

I talk about this a lot, and we can

never talk about tiring, fully trusting

215

:

in God and giving him our full surrender

and having great confidence in him when

216

:

we do give him a surrender and our yes.

217

:

I was, um, I picked back up the book

I Believe in Love, which is about St.

218

:

Therese's spirituality, and she is

all about confidence in the Lord.

219

:

She's all about confidence in Jesus.

220

:

Um- And fully trusting him with anything

and everything in her littleness.

221

:

And so that was really inspiring to

me, and one of the sisters recommended

222

:

I pray with this, the Litany of Trust,

which I have always been a fan of, and I

223

:

have not prayed it in a very long time.

224

:

Again, probably a year, maybe a

couple years, I haven't picked it

225

:

up because there was a time in my

life when I read it all the time,

226

:

and then I was like, "I'm good.

227

:

We trust now."

228

:

And y'all know it's a journey.

229

:

Like you, you know, like it's just

a cycle of like trusting and falling

230

:

and trusting and falling, and our

humanity just like always takes over

231

:

because we're not heavenly beings yet.

232

:

So bummer for us, but I picked

back up the Litany of Trust, and I

233

:

just wanna pray it with you today.

234

:

So that's what we're gonna do.

235

:

Like we're just gonna have

a moment of prayer today.

236

:

I posted yesterday on my story a

little in case you needed this.

237

:

If you, um, have noticed every now and

then I'll post, and I'm trying to do

238

:

it more frequently, just these little

in case you needed these reminders.

239

:

Um, and yesterday I posted, "In

case you needed this, you and

240

:

your life has great purpose.

241

:

God is writing your story

with intention and detail.

242

:

He does not leave you abandoned.

243

:

Everything He does and allows is

for a good and greater purpose,

244

:

and His ways are higher than ours.

245

:

Keep following Him."

246

:

So if you haven't fully picked up on

this already, it's not always the case,

247

:

but 9 out of 10 times when I post these

things, it's because it's what I needed

248

:

to hear or what the Lord is speaking

to me that was like a great consolation

249

:

to me and what I needed to hear in that

moment, and then I share it with you.

250

:

And I got a lot of messages yesterday

of people saying, "Thank you so much.

251

:

I needed this.

252

:

Thank you for sharing this.

253

:

It's so hard to trust.

254

:

Like I know these things in my head,

but in my heart it's so hard to trust."

255

:

And I relate to that.

256

:

I've been there, and I know so many of you

as well feel that and struggle with that.

257

:

So today we're gonna pray

the Litany of Trust together.

258

:

Um, and I'm just gonna give

some random commentary that

259

:

comes to me as we go through it.

260

:

This is all very Holy Spirit led.

261

:

This is not a pre-prepared episode.

262

:

It's literally Wednesday, May 27th.

263

:

This episode is coming

out later this afternoon.

264

:

Like no planning went into this.

265

:

It was just like the Holy Spirit put it

on my heart, so this is what we're doing.

266

:

Um, so I hope it's good, but let's pray.

267

:

Name of the Father,

Son, Holy Spirit, amen.

268

:

Come, Holy Spirit.

269

:

Come, Holy Spirit, teach us to pray.

270

:

Lord, we just pray that you would

open our hearts right now to receive

271

:

the words of the Litany of Trust

272

:

To let them penetrate our heart, to let

them steep into our heart and take root

273

:

in our heart, that these words would

take root and bear new life and new

274

:

beliefs of truth and of trust in you

275

:

Let's pray.

276

:

From the belief that I have to

earn your love, deliver me, Jesus

277

:

Sometimes we have this distorted

view of God That he gifts according

278

:

to our performance, right?

279

:

That his gifts are measured or

given in accordance to how well

280

:

we've served him, or how well

we've followed his commandments,

281

:

how good of a child we've been.

282

:

That's simply not true, right?

283

:

We wanna be delivered

of that false belief.

284

:

We don't have to earn his love.

285

:

It is freely given to us, simply given

to us because he loves us, period.

286

:

So from the belief that I have to

earn your love, deliver me, Jesus.

287

:

From the fear that I am

unlovable, deliver me, Jesus.

288

:

How often do we look at ourselves and

hate what we see, or don't believe

289

:

that we are worthy of someone else's

love, value, attention, um, care?

290

:

And that's just us, like, sometimes we

have this, like, negative self-talk.

291

:

I don't know about you, but there's

definitely times when I have this

292

:

negative self-talk where I just,

like, beat myself up, right?

293

:

We wanna be delivered from that.

294

:

That is not of the Lord.

295

:

From the fear that I am

unlovable, deliver me, Jesus.

296

:

And I also wanna say here, I think the

Holy Spirit's bringing up, yeah, our sins.

297

:

Like, sometimes we fall into thinking

our sins are what make us unlovable.

298

:

We are so bad.

299

:

We have … What we have done is so

wrong that the Lord could never love us.

300

:

That is not true.

301

:

Jesus' mercy envelops all of ours,

a- all of us, and all of ourselves of

302

:

who we are, even, even the worst parts

of ourselves we don't want to see.

303

:

And it's actually, like, who are we

to think that our sins are bigger

304

:

than God's mercy and God's love?

305

:

I promise you, he's more powerful, more

gracious, more loving, and more forgiving

306

:

than anything you have done, right?

307

:

Let that be your reminder.

308

:

From the false security that I have

what it takes, deliver me, Jesus.

309

:

Ooh, I needed to hear that one.

310

:

Like, we think that we

have it all figured out.

311

:

Sometimes we think that we have

the best plan, um, that if we

312

:

just work hard enough, we'll

make things happen for ourselves.

313

:

Especially right now, our culture is so

obsessed with manifestation and just,

314

:

like, calling things into existence.

315

:

Um, that's a false security.

316

:

You don't have what it takes.

317

:

You don't have the power, and you

don't have what it takes to take on the

318

:

trials of this human life on your own.

319

:

Sorry.

320

:

It's really hard, and it's really

heavy, and the saints couldn't

321

:

do it and, and we can't either.

322

:

So from the false security that I

have what it takes, deliver me, Jesus.

323

:

From the fear that trusting you will leave

me more destitute, deliver me, Jesus.

324

:

This comes down to us believing Or

us not believing in God's goodness

325

:

and a distrust in God's goodness.

326

:

Because the fear here is that if I trust

you, I'm gonna be worse off, which means

327

:

I don't trust that what you bring is good.

328

:

So we have to go back to that foundational

core belief that God is a good and

329

:

loving father, and He wants good things

for us, so that when we trust Him,

330

:

when He asks us to trust Him, we can

trust without knowing what's coming

331

:

because we know who it's coming from.

332

:

We know His goodness, and

therefore we know that what

333

:

comes, even if it's difficult,

there's goodness in- at its core.

334

:

There's goodness in everything God does.

335

:

From all suspicion of Your words

and promises, deliver me, Jesus.

336

:

This is kind of on that same line, right?

337

:

Like, us being suspicious of who Jesus is

or us reading His words and His promises

338

:

in the Bible that, you know, are going to

give us life, that He's going to provide

339

:

an abundance, that He hears us, that He

gives us the, um, words of eternal life,

340

:

that He is, uh, the, the living water.

341

:

Like, all, all of these promises

He makes, that He will restore

342

:

us, that He will heal us, um, that

what we ask for, He will deliver.

343

:

Like, from suspicion of those

things that the Lord has promised,

344

:

we need to be delivered, right?

345

:

And that's the evil one kind of, like,

planting seeds of doubt in our heart

346

:

in who God is, and it goes with the

earlier one we were talking about.

347

:

We need to believe in God's goodness,

and if that's what you're feeling,

348

:

go back and pray, "Lord, allow

me to believe in Your goodness.

349

:

Show me Your goodness," 'cause that's

where that suspicion comes from.

350

:

From the rebellion against childlike

dependency on You, deliver me,

351

:

Jesus Hmm, childlike dependency.

352

:

What does that look like?

353

:

What does it look like for a baby

or a two-year-old, you know, or a

354

:

six-year-old to depend on their parents?

355

:

You know, depending on their age, like

they literally can't feed themselves.

356

:

They literally can't put themselves

to sleep a lot of the times.

357

:

They literally need to be changed,

their diaper needs to be changed.

358

:

They need to be rocked.

359

:

They need to be soothed.

360

:

They need to be provided

for at every moment.

361

:

And what happens with a baby, a child,

when that secure attachment is formed

362

:

and that understanding in their little

minds is formed, that when I cry

363

:

out, my mother or father will come to

comfort me, that is that same dependence

364

:

that we need to have on the Lord.

365

:

We need to have that childlike dependency

that we know when we cry out, when we

366

:

are hungry, when we are thirsty, when we

are tired, that He will provide for us.

367

:

He will come running to us.

368

:

Um, and sometimes we have that rebellion.

369

:

Sometimes our soul wants to.

370

:

It wants to depend fully.

371

:

It wants to trust, and yet

there's that human part of us

372

:

that's like, "You can't trust.

373

:

You have to do it yourself."

374

:

You know?

375

:

Like, you have to have this like hesitancy

and keep things at arm's distance because

376

:

there's no way the Lord could provide

for you like a child and like a father.

377

:

Deliver me, Jesus, from that, please.

378

:

Okay, moving on.

379

:

From refusals and reluctances in

accepting Your will, deliver me, Jesus.

380

:

Gosh, these are all hard, you guys.

381

:

This is why this prayer is so good.

382

:

These are hard things to do.

383

:

How many times do we refuse or

are reluctant to God's will?

384

:

Our life didn't look like what

we thought it would, and we

385

:

refuse to accept His plan.

386

:

I mean, I know that more than ever, right?

387

:

Like, I expected to be

a mom five years ago.

388

:

That was my plan.

389

:

That was not God's plan And I hated

that plan for a really long time.

390

:

I was reluctant, and I refused

that plan for a really long time.

391

:

And I spent years trying to convince

him that my plan was better.

392

:

And I know this goes for so many women

who are in the same place that I am

393

:

or in a different place of waiting for

their vocation, waiting for the right

394

:

man to come along, and being like, "Lord,

I thought I would be married by now.

395

:

I thought I would at least be

engaged or have a boyfriend by now.

396

:

I thought I would be in a

relationship that was going somewhere.

397

:

Like, that was my plan, and clearly

this isn't your will, and I hate that."

398

:

Like, I- y- it's okay for

you to say that in prayer.

399

:

Like, "Lord," like, "gosh, I

really am struggling with this.

400

:

I really don't like this

plan that you have."

401

:

Give that to Jesus.

402

:

Give that to Jesus.

403

:

And from the refusal and

reluctances in accepting your

404

:

will, let us be delivered, Lord.

405

:

Because in our human understanding,

we don't understand your ways.

406

:

Your ways are higher than ours, and

your thoughts are higher than ours.

407

:

And so it's hard for us to re-

to accept your will sometimes.

408

:

But we need to know that

it is the best plan.

409

:

It is the good plan that you have for us.

410

:

Mm.

411

:

Yeah.

412

:

Okay.

413

:

Next one.

414

:

From anxiety about the

future, deliver me, Jesus

415

:

Tell me you don't worry about the future.

416

:

Yeah.

417

:

So you need to hear this one.

418

:

From anxiety about the

future, deliver me, Jesus.

419

:

Because if we have wholehearted trust

in the Lord, we know He is good,

420

:

we know what is coming is good for

us, we don't have to be anxious.

421

:

Read Matthew 6.

422

:

If this is you, if you're anxious

about the future, read Matthew

423

:

chapter 6, the do not worry passage,

and go all the way through verse 33.

424

:

From resentment or excessive preoccupation

with the past, deliver me, Jesus.

425

:

Some of us struggle with worrying

about the future, and some of us

426

:

struggle with being so preoccupied

about what happened in the past and

427

:

not being able to let go of that past.

428

:

That excessive preoccupation, right?

429

:

That excessive, um, shame or

disgust with the past, right?

430

:

Like, we just, like, hate what

we see in our past, in our life.

431

:

Um, the Lord wants to deliver us

from that as well, because the

432

:

Lord does not work in the past.

433

:

He does not live in the future.

434

:

He is in the present.

435

:

He wants to call us into His

relationship in the present moment.

436

:

He's taken care of the past, and He's

taken care of the future, and He just

437

:

wants you to come to Him today with

today's problems, with today's emotions.

438

:

Um, so surrender all of that to Him.

439

:

If this is you, surrender all of that to

Him and pray this: "Deliver me, Jesus,

440

:

from restless self-seeking in the

present moment, deliver me, Jesus.

441

:

Okay, so for this one, um, I, I pulled

up Truthfully because I was having

442

:

trouble kind of like articulating

like what does this really mean?

443

:

And it's really beautiful what it says.

444

:

Um, so let me just read it to you.

445

:

Um-

446

:

Notice where this line sits in the prayer.

447

:

It's sandwiched between resentment or

excessive preoccupation with the past

448

:

and disbelief in your love and presence.

449

:

The placement is not accidental.

450

:

The entire litany covers all

the dimensions of time, past,

451

:

present, and future, which is

what we were just talking about.

452

:

And it identifies a specific

spiritual trap embedded in each one.

453

:

So restless means unsettled,

never at peace, right?

454

:

Self-seeking means that the driving

force behind this restlessness is

455

:

me, my preferences, my comfort,

my plans, my control, my pleasure.

456

:

It is the opposite of what

Christ calls us to do.

457

:

Whoever wishes to come after me must deny

himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

458

:

So together they describe a person

who cannot receive the present

459

:

moment as a gift from God because

they are too busy demanding that it

460

:

be something other than what it is.

461

:

It's like the dissatisfaction

with your present life, your

462

:

present self, your present moment

463

:

So the Lord here is asking us

to be detached from that, right?

464

:

And to give him our trust in the present

moment, and that we are exactly where

465

:

he wants us to be right now today.

466

:

From disbelief in your love and

presence, deliver me, Jesus.

467

:

Sometimes it's easy for us to

fall into the lies that we are

468

:

abandoned, or that He is not with

us anymore, or that He has left us.

469

:

And the Lord is always with us.

470

:

He never abandons us.

471

:

He never walks away, even when it

doesn't feel like He's close to us.

472

:

There are definitely times where we

won't feel those fuzzy feelings or

473

:

feel that real physical closeness.

474

:

That doesn't mean He's not here, right?

475

:

So from that disbelief that we

are loved and that He is present

476

:

with us, deliver us, Jesus.

477

:

From the fear of being asked to give

more than I have, deliver me, Jesus.

478

:

Have you ever heard the phrase

where it says, "God gives each

479

:

one of His, um, sons and daughters

exactly what they can handle"?

480

:

And sometimes we go through

life's trials, and we are like,

481

:

um, "I can't handle this, Jesus.

482

:

Like, why did you give me this?

483

:

Why did you think I could handle this?"

484

:

From that disbelief of being asked to

give more than I have, deliver me, Jesus.

485

:

The Lord asks us exactly what needs to

be asked of us to grow in holiness, to

486

:

be drawn closer into His love, to be more

conformed to His cross, to know Him more

487

:

intimately And sometimes we're scared

that we're gonna be asked for more than

488

:

we're able to give, and that's not true.

489

:

The Lord will always provide because

in the end it is Him giving through us.

490

:

His grace is what allows us to give.

491

:

From the belief that my life has no

meaning or worth, deliver me, Jesus

492

:

This is the idea that we essentially

believe that, um, our existence

493

:

is essentially pointless, right?

494

:

I mean, this is hard.

495

:

This is sad.

496

:

Um, and, and yet I know people

genuinely struggle, right?

497

:

And, and are falling into these

lies and these false beliefs, right?

498

:

That their life has no meaning or

worth, um, that nothing they do

499

:

matters, um, that the people around

them would be better without them,

500

:

that their suffering has no purpose.

501

:

Um, all of these are lies that the evil

one tries to feed us, um, so that we

502

:

would lose that trust in our identity,

that we would lose that core, ownership

503

:

of our identity as sons and daughters.

504

:

If we are beloved sons and daughters,

these, these lies aren't true.

505

:

They can't be true because our

identity is much too valuable, right?

506

:

Um, so yeah, from that belief

that my life has no meaning

507

:

or worth, deliver me, Jesus.

508

:

From the fear of what love

demands, deliver me, Jesus.

509

:

I love this line because our faith

teaches us that love isn't easy.

510

:

Love isn't like a happy,

necessarily, like, easy, lovey-dovey,

511

:

butterfly-feelings thing, right?

512

:

Love isn't doing sweet things for

someone when you feel like doing them.

513

:

That is definitely a way to show love,

but the truest form of love is willing the

514

:

good of the other, and willing the good of

the other sometimes demands things of us.

515

:

It stretches us.

516

:

It, um, causes us to sacrifice

and maybe do things we don't like

517

:

to do or that aren't easy to do.

518

:

Um, and so love demands a lot, and we

see this in everyday ways in marriage,

519

:

um, in motherhood and fatherhood.

520

:

Um, the demands of a child are

not easy things, and to do that

521

:

over and over and over again all

day, every day, that's not easy.

522

:

Um, marriage demands a lot of you.

523

:

It demands sacrifice.

524

:

It demands that you kind of shed a

selfishness, um, that we've had throughout

525

:

our single years, not in a bad way, but

just because we've never had to worry

526

:

about anyone else rather than ourselves.

527

:

So love demands a But the Lord will give

us the grace to rise to the occasion.

528

:

From discouragement, deliver me, Jesus.

529

:

Um, I think this is a

sure sign of desolation.

530

:

Like, if you are just constantly

discouraged, um, and just, like,

531

:

see no way out, see no light at

the end of the tunnel and just feel

532

:

hopeless, um, that is a sure sign you

need to get your butt in the chapel.

533

:

Uh, maybe go to confession.

534

:

Um, receive the Eucharist

more often, right?

535

:

Just kind of feed your soul

those supernatural graces that we

536

:

receive, um, from the sacraments,

um, to restore that hope and that

537

:

trust and that belief in the Lord.

538

:

Now, the next section switches

to Jesus, I trust in you.

539

:

mari-_5_05-27-2026_112628: for

these, I don't think we need

540

:

to dissect every single one.

541

:

We just need to hear what is being

said, hear that truth, and really

542

:

let it, um, take root in our hearts.

543

:

Um, so let's just pray that together.

544

:

That you are continually holding

me, sustaining me, loving me.

545

:

Jesus, I trust in you.

546

:

That your love goes deeper than my

sins and failings and transforms me.

547

:

Jesus, I trust in you.

548

:

That not knowing what tomorrow brings

is an invitation to lean on you.

549

:

Jesus, I trust in you.

550

:

That you are with me in my suffering.

551

:

Jesus, I trust in you.

552

:

That my suffering, united to your own,

will bear fruit in this life and the next.

553

:

Jesus, I trust in you.

554

:

That you will not leave me orphan,

that you are present in your church.

555

:

Jesus, I trust in you.

556

:

That your plan is better

than anything else.

557

:

Jesus, I trust in you.

558

:

That you always hear me, and in

your goodness, always respond to me.

559

:

Jesus, I trust in you.

560

:

That you give me the grace to accept

forgiveness and to forgive others.

561

:

Jesus, I trust in you.

562

:

That you give me all the strength

I need for what is asked.

563

:

Jesus, I trust in you.

564

:

That my life is a gift.

565

:

Jesus, I trust in you.

566

:

That you will teach me to trust you.

567

:

Jesus, I trust in you.

568

:

That you are my Lord and my God.

569

:

Jesus, I trust in you.

570

:

That I am your beloved one.

571

:

Jesus, I trust in you

572

:

Lord, I just pray that everybody listening

to this, um, would let these words pierce

573

:

their hearts and give them encouragement

and life, um, in whatever it is that

574

:

they're going through, that they would

be able to trust you with your grace.

575

:

Amen.

576

:

In the name of the Father,

Son, and Holy Spirit.

577

:

Amen.

578

:

Well, I hope that was a good time of

prayer and reflection for you guys.

579

:

It's been so beautiful for me to be

praying with the Litany of Trust lately.

580

:

Um, so I hope that

blesses your prayer life.

581

:

Now, before we wrap up, just gonna give

you a little update on the podcast and

582

:

what it's gonna look like this summer.

583

:

So last summer, we took

a bit of a summer break.

584

:

This year we're gonna kinda

take a break, but kinda not.

585

:

So there will still be episodes going out

every Wednesday, but they're going to be

586

:

our most popular, most listened to reruns.

587

:

So no new content, unless I randomly

get on here and record a podcast,

588

:

um, will be going out this summer.

589

:

It'll be reruns of our top listened to

content, um, and most popular content.

590

:

I highly recommend you still listen

to them even if you've heard them,

591

:

because sometimes the message that we

heard at one point needs to be heard

592

:

again years later or months later,

like the Litany of Trust, right?

593

:

Like, I put it away for a while,

and then I picked it back up

594

:

again and I was like, "Wow, it's

wrecking my life in the best way."

595

:

So, um, be just on the lookout for which

episodes are coming back and enjoy them.

596

:

Um, and then in the fall, we'll come back

with our regularly scheduled content.

597

:

Um, and for all you who made it to

the end of this podcast episode,

598

:

I'll give you just a little sneak

peek of something coming soon.

599

:

So at the end of the year, so when we come

back in the fall, fall and winter, um,

600

:

I'm gonna be announcing some new things

that are gonna happen with the podcast.

601

:

Not going to tell you much now.

602

:

Some exciting changes that are happening,

um, but what I'll let you know is

603

:

that there will be a hint next week.

604

:

So whatever episode is coming out

next week will give you a hint as

605

:

to what's coming in the future.

606

:

Um, so I'll leave you with that, and I

hope you guys have an incredible summer.

607

:

Um, I'm gonna be focusing a ton on our

adoption work, and we'll start seeing

608

:

cases this summer in July, and depending

on how quickly things happen, who knows,

609

:

maybe we'll have a baby by the time we

come back in the fall, um, or winter.

610

:

So please pray for us.

611

:

I'm gonna be praying for

each and every one of you.

612

:

Know that you can also reach out to

me on my Instagram, @mari.c.wagner.

613

:

I check my DMs as often as possible and

try to get to as many messages as I can.

614

:

So if you need anything, find

me over there, but I'll be

615

:

praying so much for you guys.

616

:

Please pray for us and this whole process.

617

:

Um, and we'll see you in the fall.

618

:

Bye.
