The Parable of The Lost Sheep is told in two different contexts. In Matthew 18:1-14 it is the answer to who is the greatest in the kingdom and in Luke 15:1-7 it is about Jesus dining with sinners. In both situations Jesus uses the Parable to draw to light the predicament of the most vulnerable or the lost one. He admonishes anyone who would harm the vulnerable and uses more energy to protect them. Why? Because God is a good God who loves us and wants the vulnerable, the sad, the tired, the depressed, to also find solace and safety. He wants those who feel unloved to know they are loved and wanted. With Jesus, we are never alone. We can be found and find comfort in the Lord. He will pursue you.
