Transcripts

David Spoon:

And now for something completely different.

David Spoon:

Here's what's coming up this hour on Today's Experience.

David Spoon:

It's Expository Thursday.

David Spoon:

Expository Thursday.

David Spoon:

As we work together to know the letter better into the narrative of the book of Colossians, we travel to understand what things the Lord requires of us as we learn to apply God's timeless truths in our lives.

David Spoon:

First, we're gonna pick it up at Colossians chapter one, starting with verse 28, which is some fascinating material having to do with the Lord wanting us to be aware that we can operate in his energy.

David Spoon:

What next?

David Spoon:

As we enter into chapter two of Colossians, Paul says, I want you to know how much I'm struggling for you and for those in Laodicea who have never met me face to face.

David Spoon:

Ministry is not always face to face.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

The church you attend, as much as possible, you should be involved in direct human contact.

David Spoon:

But not all ministry has that.

David Spoon:

Paul has this ministry to the Church of Colossae, and they will never meet meet, but they will bless each other.

David Spoon:

Kind of like radio ministry.

David Spoon:

Whoa.

David Spoon:

And finally, he mentions the purpose of contacting them, reaching out and being connected with them so they will be encouraged in their hearts, knit together in love and filled with the full riches of complete understanding of who we're dealing with.

David Spoon:

This is absolutely the greatest declaration of what actually this ministry is.

David Spoon:

This radio ministry we're doing right now to encourage and to build up to love and to share the full riches of understanding of who Jesus is.

David Spoon:

That is my brothers and sisters, the best of the best.

David Spoon:

David Spoon's life has been an experience.

David Spoon:

While growing up in a Jewish family, he made a wrong turn towards drug abuse.

David Spoon:

Then David Spoon found Jesus Christ and his life completely, completely changed.

David Spoon:

The more he studied the Gospel, the more he wanted to share his experiences with others.

David Spoon:

After 35 years of ministry, David discovered a new path of service.

David Spoon:

He joined KAAM and this radio program began.

David Spoon:

You're about to hear the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Local, national and heavenly talk.

David Spoon:

Here's what else we're looking at during the show.

David Spoon:

Lessons for surviving living and prevailing politics, Entertainment and current events, Personal revelations, perhaps too many spiritual observations, my life's insanities and oy vey, so much more.

David Spoon:

Now remember, it's not professional radio.

David Spoon:

We've told you that a trillion times.

David Spoon:

It's just radio.

David Spoon:

But we are asking you, what do you think?

David Spoon:

Now, you can email us during the show.

David Spoon:

Davidmustincrease.org davidemustincreased.org.

David Spoon:

you can text us during the show.

David Spoon:

Not text us, text us.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

That same feeling that you get when you're being appreciated.

David Spoon:

Thank you, David.

David Spoon:

Happy Thursday.

David Spoon:

Happy Thursday to you, my friend.

David Spoon:

Now, what's amazing, I just want to say this is, you know, we were finishing up that little bit.

David Spoon:

We were talking about gray and God's grace and the fill that came right behind it was Pastor Ray talking about what grace is.

David Spoon:

You can't make this stuff up.

David Spoon:

I don't know what those fills are.

David Spoon:

Let's see.

David Spoon:

Jennifer puts those fills in, right?

David Spoon:

You don't even put those in, right?

David Spoon:

Yeah, I don't put them in.

David Spoon:

And when she puts them in, I'm pretty sure she just grabs and, like, there's no order.

David Spoon:

It's just random.

David Spoon:

It's just randomly selecting.

David Spoon:

Sure.

David Spoon:

And that's why that's funny, because she randomly selected as the Holy Spirit wanted her to.

David Spoon:

And so we just finished talking about grace, and bam.

David Spoon:

There's a fill on grace.

David Spoon:

Don't you love that?

David Spoon:

That's the kingdom stuff.

David Spoon:

That's a praise report.

David Spoon:

That's right there.

David Spoon:

That's exactly what we're talking about.

David Spoon:

Like, what a blessing that we have Jam and Jacob to help us out.

David Spoon:

What a blessing that we have Jennifer to keep this station going and Don to oversee everything and making sure all is well for our ministry in the program.

David Spoon:

Isn't that awesome?

David Spoon:

And on top of that, you might have something that's going on.

David Spoon:

Maybe you've got something that you want to share.

David Spoon:

The Lord's done something marvelous in your life.

David Spoon:

Hey, we are here for that.

David Spoon:

We want to rejoice with you.

David Spoon:

Maybe it's something that's difficult.

David Spoon:

Listen, we want to weep with you.

David Spoon:

We want to be the family that God designed us to be.

David Spoon:

And when you talk about that, you understand that getting in is very narrow.

David Spoon:

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

David Spoon:

And no man comes to the Father but by him.

David Spoon:

John 14:6.

David Spoon:

And if people don't like it, they can lump it.

David Spoon:

But once you're in the kingdom, you find out that it's very spread out.

David Spoon:

It's A body parts are the legs and the arms and the shoulders and the back, the neck and the kneecaps all the way around.

David Spoon:

We all got this little bit of difference, but we're all connected to the head, which is Christ.

David Spoon:

That's the big key.

David Spoon:

So in that if you've got something that's going on and you wanna share it, or if you've got something that's going on and you just need prayer for it, or even if you got something that the Lord has just touched you with and you're like, oh, I just wanna share.

David Spoon:

We wanna give you that opportunity.

David Spoon:

That's why you would call, that's why you would text, that's why you would send an email.

David Spoon:

And now we also do Bible trivia.

David Spoon:

Now, most of you know we've been doing Bible trivia.

David Spoon:

We have calculated we've done around 15,000 Bible trivia questions on this show and the previous show.

David Spoon:

So here is your Bible trivia question.

David Spoon:

Getting that attibug.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Jesus would pray in the garden of What?

David Spoon:

Matthew, chapter 26, verse 36.

David Spoon:

He would be in the garden of.

David Spoon:

He was arrested in the garden of what garden?

David Spoon:

Matthew, chapter 26, verse 36.

David Spoon:

If you think you know, give us a call.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or you can send an email.

David Spoon:

Davidemustincrease.org so we're asking a simple question.

David Spoon:

Jesus, he would pray in this particular garden.

David Spoon:

He was arrested in this garden.

David Spoon:

So Matthew:

David Spoon:

What was the name of that guardian in the meantime?

David Spoon:

Eric gave a very funny answer.

David Spoon:

In the meantime, I do want to remind you that next week is a modified schedule.

David Spoon:

The modified schedule is simply this.

David Spoon:

On New Year's Day, we're going to be doing a replay.

David Spoon:

So all the things are normal except for New Year's.

David Spoon:

Jennifer and Jim and Jacob and myself will not be in the studio.

David Spoon:

I just want everybody to be aware of that so you can be kind of connected to that and all that other stuff.

David Spoon:

All right now.

David Spoon:

So we have multiple questions we're going to be asking because we have some things that we're going to accomplish on this show.

David Spoon:

As you know, I always have agendas.

David Spoon:

And then the Lord of course, has his agenda.

David Spoon:

Sometimes I get some of mine done.

David Spoon:

That doesn't matter.

David Spoon:

Our Question.

David Spoon:

Jesus was arrested in and also prayed in the garden of what?

David Spoon:

According to Matthew:

David Spoon:

We do have somebody on the line.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Adalynn Schiller:

Adalynn Schiller.

David Spoon:

This is Adalynn Schiller.

David Spoon:

Is this Addy Bug?

Adalynn Schiller:

Yay.

David Spoon:

Hi, Addy Bug.

David Spoon:

It's grandpa.

David Spoon:

How you doing?

David Spoon:

Good.

David Spoon:

Are you guys doing good on the game you're playing?

David Spoon:

Yeah, we haven't started it yet.

David Spoon:

Uh.

David Spoon:

Oh, are you guys.

David Spoon:

Are they giving you extra Christmas cookies?

Adalynn Schiller:

No.

David Spoon:

Oh, you tell them.

David Spoon:

Stop it.

David Spoon:

You say give extra Christmas cookies.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right, let me.

David Spoon:

Let me ask you the question, sweetheart.

David Spoon:

Ready?

David Spoon:

Jesus was arrested in, but he also prayed in this particular garden.

David Spoon:

Which garden?

David Spoon:

Garden.

David Spoon:

Was it gas?

David Spoon:

Enemy?

David Spoon:

That is correct, Emma.

David Spoon:

No.

David Spoon:

Excellent job, Addy Bug.

David Spoon:

Very, very good.

David Spoon:

And you had many people hear you do that, just like your brother did last week.

David Spoon:

And I wanna say excellent job.

David Spoon:

Good job, kiddo.

David Spoon:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Love you, sweetie.

David Spoon:

See you in a while.

Adalynn Schiller:

See ya.

David Spoon:

Bye.

David Spoon:

All righty.

David Spoon:

That's pretty good, huh?

David Spoon:

They got the grandkids answering trivia questions.

David Spoon:

That's not too shabby, people.

David Spoon:

That's not too shabby.

David Spoon:

And she got it, right.

David Spoon:

Pretty good, right?

David Spoon:

That's pretty good, right?

David Spoon:

Don't forget, started with a garden, right?

David Spoon:

It started with a garden, right in the beginning.

David Spoon:

Genesis 1, 2, 3.

David Spoon:

Jesus in the middle, right?

David Spoon:

Was in a garden.

David Spoon:

And at the end, we find out in Revelation, there's a garden.

David Spoon:

I wonder if garden is important.

David Spoon:

Hmm.

David Spoon:

Okay, good enough.

David Spoon:

All right, in the meantime, we're gonna start into some of our teachings as well.

David Spoon:

We will try and do a Jake's take tomorrow.

David Spoon:

I think that'd be a better time to do it.

David Spoon:

But I do wanna get some teaching in, so you guys have to listen because I'm running the show, so you kinda have to listen anyway.

David Spoon:

Here we go.

David Spoon:

We're in Colossians 1:28.

David Spoon:

It we proclaim him admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.

David Spoon:

To this end, I also labor striving, with all his energy working powerfully within me.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

All right, let's start off and get it rolling.

David Spoon:

Just so you can understand what's taking place, Paul is in verse 28.

David Spoon:

As we're entering this amazing territory, he says in these lessons, he says, we proclaim Jesus admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom so we may present everyone complete or perfect in Christ.

David Spoon:

Paul is doing all this so he can present people as Complete as possible.

David Spoon:

When the word perfect is used in the New Testament and in the Old Testament, it means complete or mature.

David Spoon:

He's trying to get people to be mature and complete in Christ, for Christ, to Christ and with Christ.

David Spoon:

And what's powerful about that is everything that's going on in your life.

David Spoon:

And we've talked about it numerous times.

David Spoon:

Salvation is past, present, and future.

David Spoon:

Justification, sanctification, glorification.

David Spoon:

You are saved.

David Spoon:

The penalties of your sin have been washed away.

David Spoon:

Praise the Lord.

David Spoon:

It's over now.

David Spoon:

He's making you reflect what he pronounced you to be.

David Spoon:

You're like Jesus in my eyes.

David Spoon:

And now God's going, and I'm going to make you look that way.

David Spoon:

Whack, whack, whack, whack, whack, whack.

David Spoon:

As he's molding us and changing us and gearing us to reflect Jesus, more and more and more, we have that.

David Spoon:

We respond to this on a regular basis.

David Spoon:

I do this, and I know some people have different theologies.

David Spoon:

I don't dislike those people.

David Spoon:

I just have a different take.

David Spoon:

Here's my take.

David Spoon:

The reason God didn't take every one of us as soon as we said yes is because he wants you to reflect Jesus Christ.

David Spoon:

Which is why 2 Corinthians 3:18 says we're changed into his image.

David Spoon:

Glory by glory, step by step, piece by piece, victory by victory, trial by trial.

David Spoon:

What is it that Roger said to us earlier?

David Spoon:

Overcoming until you get to the breakthrough?

David Spoon:

Well, that's just like the trial.

David Spoon:

Until the trial and to trial, glory by glory, step by step.

David Spoon:

That's the Lord working it in us.

David Spoon:

So we're completely justified because of the blood of Jesus Christ.

David Spoon:

We are being sanctified through the work of the Holy Spirit so that we can reflect Jesus as a billboard for Jesus Christ wherever we go.

David Spoon:

And at some point, we're gonna go into glorification.

David Spoon:

And the glorification is when you're in the sweet by and by.

David Spoon:

And there's no more essence of sin, result of sin, or anything like that.

David Spoon:

So in justification, you're free from the penalty of sin.

David Spoon:

In sanctification, you're free from the power of sin.

David Spoon:

And in glorification, you'll be free from the presence of sin.

David Spoon:

And that's how God saves people.

David Spoon:

And what's cool about God is it just lines up with him.

David Spoon:

Because guess what?

David Spoon:

He always was, always is, and always will be, past, present, and future.

David Spoon:

Hey, guess what?

David Spoon:

You too.

David Spoon:

Now, isn't that great?

David Spoon:

Yes, that's great.

David Spoon:

We'll take a Short break.

David Spoon:

Come back.

David Spoon:

We got a lot to cover, so don't go anywhere.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam, 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Your break will be back.

David Spoon:

Like any person searching for answers, I too have wondered about him.

David Spoon:

He has a weird sense of humor.

David Spoon:

If people are seeking wisdom and insight from the great teachers around the world, would they go to David?

David Spoon:

No, I don't think so.

David Spoon:

Those big ears really don't help.

David Spoon:

Will people enjoy his perspective on culture, politics, food, sports and local and national news?

David Spoon:

I don't know.

David Spoon:

He's just a client.

David Spoon:

Tune in to the David Spoon Experience on kaam.

David Spoon:

The David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

And that hope that is offered to us is something that's supposed to greatly encourage us.

David Spoon:

Jesus brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

David Spoon:

Through the gospel that Jesus died on the cross, he was buried and three days later he rose again.

David Spoon:

And by faith in the testimony of God, you can live forever.

David Spoon:

That hope is offered to us.

David Spoon:

If that hope is offered to you and you have not yet accepted, acknowledged and surrendered to it, I ask you to do so right this second.

David Spoon:

I don't even care if you do a fancy prayer.

David Spoon:

Just say, God save me, in Jesus name.

David Spoon:

You will be saved.

David Spoon:

If you believe that Jesus Christ died on that cross, was buried three days later, he rose again.

David Spoon:

And you surrender your heart to Jesus Christ, turning from where you were and turning to him, you will find life.

David Spoon:

Right now you might be out there thinking there's no way it can be that easy.

David Spoon:

Wrong.

David Spoon:

But you have to receive it.

David Spoon:

You have to surrender to it.

David Spoon:

You have to acknowledge God's testimony and say yes to Jesus Christ.

David Spoon:

Doesn't matter what the world says, doesn't matter what your friends say.

David Spoon:

It doesn't matter what any other family member says.

David Spoon:

It only matters for your decision before God in regards to his testimony relating to Jesus Christ and your sins.

David Spoon:

And that's the hope that is offered to us.

David Spoon:

And we can be greatly encouraged by that.

David Spoon:

And that hope is an anchor to our soul.

David Spoon:

That anchor makes it so that even if the winds are heavy and the waves are intense, we don't get tossed and lost.

David Spoon:

That there is some stability, that there is some.

David Spoon:

There is some strength.

David Spoon:

And you can't be like these people that have no hope.

David Spoon:

All there is is this life and there's nothing else.

David Spoon:

That's why they're trying to sin their brains out, because they don't think there's anything else left.

David Spoon:

But they're going to die and face God and he's going to ask regarding his account that he's given in relationship to Jesus Christ and they're going to have to answer.

David Spoon:

And if they have rejected, then they will be as they have placed themselves as people with no hope.

David Spoon:

But if you're a person that has not made that decision to say yes to Jesus Christ, make that decision right now.

David Spoon:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Double amen.

David Spoon:

770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Getting ready for your next trivia question.

David Spoon:

Every one of you should get this.

David Spoon:

Isn't that a nice way for me to say that everybody who is listening to my voice when I say this?

David Spoon:

You should get this coming out of Romans 8:31.

David Spoon:

Romans 8:31.

David Spoon:

If God is for us.

David Spoon:

If God is for us.

David Spoon:

What's the rest of that verse?

David Spoon:

Romans 8:31.

David Spoon:

If God is for us.

David Spoon:

If you think you know the answer.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Wednesday will be a replay.

David Spoon:

It is one of my favorite.

David Spoon:

Let me tell you something, it is a top three or top four radio show of all time.

David Spoon:

Out of all the shows, out of 3,000.

David Spoon:

So we encourage you to check that out.

David Spoon:

Plus by tomorrow I'll have that interview up.

David Spoon:

So Noah called me and interviewed me and we did a straight 1 hour and 12 or 17 minutes for his 1 hour show.

David Spoon:

We didn't do any cuts or anything like that, like any break.

David Spoon:

I doubt he edited very much other than just to get it down to a minute or an hour.

David Spoon:

And it's pretty fascinating.

David Spoon:

It's pretty interesting.

David Spoon:

But there's parts in it that are just like regular me.

David Spoon:

Then there's parts that's like regular spiritual me.

David Spoon:

And you'll get it.

David Spoon:

We'll have it up there as soon as he gets it to me, just so you can be aware.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Now we got that done.

David Spoon:

We got that done.

David Spoon:

We're gonna do our trivia question.

David Spoon:

Somebody is on the phone and so we're going to be doing that trivia question.

David Spoon:

Then after that we're going to be doing DNA because you can't do it without the DNA.

David Spoon:

Your building blocks of life, your DNA.

David Spoon:

We're going to share our DNA and see if it helps, because we think it helps.

David Spoon:

But we do have our trivia question that we're asking.

David Spoon:

If God before us, what's the rest of that verse?

David Spoon:

Romans 8, 31.

David Spoon:

Somebody is on the line.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

David Spoon:

This is Gary.

David Spoon:

How are you today?

David Spoon:

I'm doing pretty good, Gary.

David Spoon:

I mean, I had a couple of days off and that was nice, but I'm just being honest.

David Spoon:

A lot of people at the house, a lot of kids, a lot of grandkids, a lot of kids.

David Spoon:

Kind of draining a little bit of energy loss right there, right?

David Spoon:

It's like, wow, I guess I'm older.

David Spoon:

But don't tell anybody, okay?

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right, my brother, here we go.

David Spoon:

Romans 8:31.

David Spoon:

If God be for us, who can be against us?

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

That is correct among you.

David Spoon:

And I do love that verse because I always add.

David Spoon:

And I do add this, so I'm saying it's me adding it, but I always go, if God before us, who can be against us?

David Spoon:

And who cares?

David Spoon:

Because if God is for you, who cares?

David Spoon:

I mean, it's like God's for me.

David Spoon:

I don't care.

David Spoon:

All right, my brother, I want to pray over you for health.

David Spoon:

And we're going to believe even more and more for 20, 25.

David Spoon:

You good for that?

David Spoon:

Okay, let's do it.

David Spoon:

Father, we come before you right now.

David Spoon:

We lift up our brother Gary and we want him to know that he is important to us.

David Spoon:

And we want him to know that in his heart, not anything from.

David Spoon:

We don't ask anything from him.

David Spoon:

He's our brother.

David Spoon:

And we are asking you to touch our brother because you are Jehovah.

David Spoon:

Rapha, you teach us that in your word.

David Spoon:

You're a God that heals people and has mercy and grace and extends your kingdom into earth.

David Spoon:

So we're asking you to extend your kingdom into Gary and manifest healing power.

David Spoon:

We have faith, Lord, and if there's any unbelief, help our unbelief.

David Spoon:

But you are more than able to do what we are petitioning you for.

David Spoon:

So we ask you to bring that healing power into Gary's body.

David Spoon:

Let us all be able to rejoice and dance together at that gracious, gracious gift.

David Spoon:

We pray in Jesus name.

David Spoon:

Amen and amen.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

And I prayed for all of you yesterday, and I will continue to pray for you.

David Spoon:

Thank you, my brother.

David Spoon:

I greatly appreciate it.

David Spoon:

And God bless you.

David Spoon:

You too.

David Spoon:

Bye.

David Spoon:

Bye.

David Spoon:

All right, we're gonna go into our DNA now.

David Spoon:

DNA is a pretty important part of what we do.

David Spoon:

We think it's something that people need to understand.

David Spoon:

It's more important than I am or what I'm teaching.

David Spoon:

So that's why we're gonna do it.

David Spoon:

D of our DNA stands for draw closer to the Lord daily, every day.

David Spoon:

And so we've really narrowed this down.

David Spoon:

Every day that ends in Y is some time you should spend with the guy in the sky.

David Spoon:

That's number one.

David Spoon:

Number two, every day that has a vowel, you should spend time with the Lord.

David Spoon:

And then the third one, which I like the most more than any of them.

David Spoon:

Every day that you breathe, you should spend some time with the Lord.

David Spoon:

Draw closer to the Lord.

David Spoon:

And it's very straightforward.

David Spoon:

Why you will have a better life when there is more of him in your life, period.

David Spoon:

No matter what you face or what you go through, doesn't even matter.

David Spoon:

A better life.

David Spoon:

When you spend time with the Lord, you want a better life, There it is.

David Spoon:

thinking, well, I really want:

David Spoon:

Spend more time with God.

David Spoon:

There it is.

David Spoon:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

N of the D and A.

David Spoon:

N.

David Spoon:

Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

Luke 9:26.

David Spoon:

If you're ashamed of me and my words, I'll be ashamed of you when I come in the Father's glory with the angels.

David Spoon:

You cannot afford.

David Spoon:

I cannot afford.

David Spoon:

We cannot afford to be ashamed of the gospel.

David Spoon:

We cannot afford to be ashamed of the words of Jesus Christ.

David Spoon:

You cannot.

David Spoon:

I cannot.

David Spoon:

We cannot afford to be ashamed of anything that God has to say.

David Spoon:

to Revelation:

David Spoon:

And God created the universe, and the dude knows how to write a book.

David Spoon:

Never ashamed of what God has to say.

David Spoon:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

A.

David Spoon:

Always be ready to serve.

David Spoon:

Ready to serve.

David Spoon:

Ready like the 10 virgins, five wise, five not so wise.

David Spoon:

Why they had the five wives had their lamps trimmed, ready to go, ready to go for whatever, for people, for purposes, for cause, for moments, for intercession, for smiles, for texts, for emails, for phone calls, for whatever.

David Spoon:

Ready to serve your King, your Lord, and your Savior.

David Spoon:

Check in often throughout the day.

David Spoon:

Anything you need for me, here I am.

David Spoon:

Present yourself.

David Spoon:

We all can do better at this.

David Spoon:

And Jesus showed us how to do it walking in fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

David Spoon:

He said what the Father wanted him to say, and he did what the Father wanted him to do.

David Spoon:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

A always be ready to serve.

David Spoon:

Back to the text we go.

David Spoon:

Because I want to pick them in verse nine, because the older I get, the more I like this verse.

David Spoon:

How's that?

David Spoon:

Is that a good way?

David Spoon:

It's probably a great way to say it.

David Spoon:

Colossians 1:29.

David Spoon:

To this end, I also labor striving with all his energy, working powerfully within me.

David Spoon:

I labor striving with all his energy, working powerfully within me.

David Spoon:

God's energy.

David Spoon:

God's power.

David Spoon:

Can you grasp what we're talking about here?

David Spoon:

I can't.

David Spoon:

I think it's hard to some degree for mortal to put on immortality in thought.

David Spoon:

And what we're talking about is the same power and energy that God used to create the universe, to speak and have the universe come to manifest.

David Spoon:

Creating matter out of his words.

David Spoon:

What?

David Spoon:

What?

David Spoon:

Raising the dead.

Adalynn Schiller:

What?

David Spoon:

Multiplying that which we have so that it can go for longer periods of time.

David Spoon:

Just all those miracles that you see, not just the five loaves and the two fish, but the oil with Elijah and that it just kept filling.

David Spoon:

It's just incredible.

David Spoon:

Changing the chemical properties of water into wine.

Adalynn Schiller:

What?

David Spoon:

That's the power of God.

David Spoon:

That's the energy of God.

David Spoon:

That's God's power.

David Spoon:

And it works within us.

David Spoon:

And when we're feeling down and drained.

David Spoon:

Hello.

David Spoon:

We need to call upon the Lord and ask him to fill us with his energy.

David Spoon:

And I just want to make sure you understand the word.

David Spoon:

Energy is the same word we use for today.

David Spoon:

So this isn't a leap.

David Spoon:

This isn't for my son, Jared.

David Spoon:

Son in law, Jared.

David Spoon:

This isn't the Lambo leap.

David Spoon:

This is pretty straightforward.

David Spoon:

I need energy.

David Spoon:

Guess what?

David Spoon:

God pours his energy into people and Paul's like, I labor striving with all his energy, which works powerfully within me.

David Spoon:

If you need energy, here's a brilliant idea.

David Spoon:

Ask.

David Spoon:

What is it?

David Spoon:

Jesus said, ask and you will receive, and then your joy will be full.

David Spoon:

Oh, well, that's a good idea.

David Spoon:

Ask, ask, seek, knock.

David Spoon:

I mean, he keeps telling us it's in more than one spot.

David Spoon:

Like, wow, maybe we should do it.

David Spoon:

Running low.

David Spoon:

I know exactly where you need to go.

David Spoon:

You need to drink this green stuff.

David Spoon:

No, you don't.

David Spoon:

You need to call upon the name of the Lord.

David Spoon:

And whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

David Spoon:

And, oh, by the way, the word saved also means rescued, delivered, revived.

David Spoon:

Okay, I think we get it now.

David Spoon:

It's coming through the Creator.

David Spoon:

Got it.

David Spoon:

Get it, hold onto it and don't let it slip away.

David Spoon:

Take our break here.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break.

David Spoon:

We'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

David Spoon:

The David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

There is this pursuit in people to find happiness.

David Spoon:

And we've just been revving up and going through the one person who had the capacity, who had the resources to do whatever he wanted to do in order to find happiness.

David Spoon:

We find out that as Solomon, who writes the book of Ecclesiastes, tells us, he tells us all these different things that he tries.

David Spoon:

What he's seeking to do is find what is something that drives men, what is something that drives women, what is something that drives children, people, humanity, to just keep going when everything seems vain and everything seems meaningless, or everything seems frustrating.

David Spoon:

And so he goes through, because his resources are unlimited, if you'll keep that in mind.

David Spoon:

He goes through a whole litany of things.

David Spoon:

He goes through, searching in, through knowledge and wisdom, talks about that in Ecclesiastes 1:12, 14, finds out that's not the answer.

David Spoon:

He does it in partying and drinking wine.

David Spoon:

I lived in Temecula wine country, part of wine country in California.

David Spoon:

Solomon had more wine than these people could ever dream of.

David Spoon:

He talks about that in Ecclesiastes 2:1:3.

David Spoon:

He talks about building a house, personal accomplishments, doing a garden.

David Spoon:

He had artistic works involved.

David Spoon:

Everything you can imagine, Solomon was doing.

David Spoon:

I mean, he was doing it all.

David Spoon:

He was creating gardens.

David Spoon:

He had amassed a ton of wealth.

David Spoon:

He had high levels of entertainment.

David Spoon:

He had male and female singers.

David Spoon:

The guy had more sex than any person could ever even imagine.

David Spoon:

And he had superiority and control.

David Spoon:

And he gets to Ecclesiastes 2.

David Spoon:

And when he gets to Ecclesiastes 2, 10 and 11, he says, when I surveyed all that my hands had done and had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

David Spoon:

Nothing was gained under the sun.

David Spoon:

He could not reach the level of satisfaction that he was searching for.

David Spoon:

That was his conclusion.

David Spoon:

He poured resources.

David Spoon:

He did this to a lot of stuff.

David Spoon:

So he gives two hints, two declarations, I should say, not really hints to help us understand what is the answer to pursuing happiness.

David Spoon:

Ready?

David Spoon:

Here it is.

David Spoon:

This is.

David Spoon:

I'm telling you, this is the biblical answer.

David Spoon:

There's no other.

David Spoon:

Here it is.

David Spoon:

Ecclesiastes 2:24 26 a a person could do nothing better than to eat, drink and find satisfaction in their toil.

David Spoon:

This too, I see, is from the hand of God.

David Spoon:

For without him who can eat or find enjoyment, to the person who pleases God, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness.

David Spoon:

The answer, Solomon said, is God has to give it.

David Spoon:

Ecclesiastes chapter 3, verse 12, 13.

David Spoon:

I know there's nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live.

David Spoon:

That each of them may eat and drink and find satisfaction in their toil.

David Spoon:

This is a gift from God sometimes.

David Spoon:

Hallelujah.

David Spoon:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's Ka Amen 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Let's see if you guys can get this next trivia question out of Acts 18:1 3.

David Spoon:

What was Paul's occupation besides being a minister?

David Spoon:

What did he do to supplement in ministry?

David Spoon:

What was the occupation of the APostle Paul?

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

What was that occupation?

David Spoon:

In the meantime and for the first time today, I'm going to send you up to the website and remind you of this Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow.

David Spoon:

I love you tomorrow.

David Spoon:

You're only a day away.

David Spoon:

All right, Tomorrow is Radio Rent.

David Spoon:

So here's what you're gonna hear me say in the spirit of the Christmas season.

David Spoon:

We just had more, sir.

David Spoon:

I'd like some more.

David Spoon:

We always can use funds.

David Spoon:

We need funds.

David Spoon:

It's not.

David Spoon:

I don't want people who have given 10,000 times to give a 10,000amonth.

David Spoon:

I want new people to give.

David Spoon:

Come on.

David Spoon:

If you like the ministry and it blesses you give, that's great.

David Spoon:

If you can't, don't worry, I'll guilt later.

David Spoon:

What I want you to do is pray for us.

David Spoon:

But we do need funds coming in and we need them in the next 24 hours.

David Spoon:

Thank you very much.

David Spoon:

If you can do it, great.

David Spoon:

If you can't, I get it.

David Spoon:

I love you anyway.

David Spoon:

Do anything for you, no matter what.

David Spoon:

We really committed to that.

David Spoon:

But certainly be Praying for us that the Lord pours out a little bit of an abundance in the next little bit.

David Spoon:

That'd be swell.

David Spoon:

Here's the only passage I'm going to use.

David Spoon:

Proverbs 3, 9.

David Spoon:

Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce.

David Spoon:

Don't give God leftovers.

David Spoon:

That's not cool.

David Spoon:

Please look at the website and check out the giving opportunity@hemustincrease.org prayer request hemostincrease.org praise report emailsincrease.org looking to give to this ministry.

David Spoon:

Hemustincrease.org confused by what's happening right now.

David Spoon:

Hemustincrease.org he must increase.org from the Valley of the jolly.

David Spoon:

Ho, ho, ho, Green Giant.

David Spoon:

Yeah, Now I will say I didn't have a lot of vegetables in the last two days.

David Spoon:

You did.

David Spoon:

I did not.

David Spoon:

Did not.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Couple extra Christmas cookies.

David Spoon:

Couple extra hundred Christmas cookies.

David Spoon:

Anyway, we'll just move on from there.

David Spoon:

I'll just leave that there.

David Spoon:

All right, here's your trivia question.

David Spoon:

And then we are going to do history, and then we're going to get into this.

David Spoon:

Cool, cool, cool.

David Spoon:

Teaching your trivia question.

David Spoon:

What was Paul's occupation?

David Spoon:

Of course he was a minister and he was in ministry, but he had an occupation that supplemented.

David Spoon:

What was that Occupation?

David Spoon:

Acts, chapter 18, verses 1 through 3.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Let's go live big in the past.

David Spoon:

So let's go let it fade in the past.

David Spoon:

All right, so there's a couple of very interesting things to tell you.

David Spoon:

I'm gonna start with the more of the dated ones.

David Spoon:

In:

David Spoon:

And I think that was the beginning of the end of them being relevant.

David Spoon:

So that would explain that.

David Spoon:

But:

David Spoon:

Always seemed like this radio thing, like all the time.

David Spoon:

And then I think many people will agree that what I'm about to tell you is one of the more important inventions in life.

David Spoon:

In:

David Spoon:

Very important.

David Spoon:

Now, the last couple things I want to say, and these are really funny, number one, it's National Candy Cane Day.

David Spoon:

After Christmas, usually it's Candy Cane Day.

David Spoon:

Number two is National Whiners Day.

David Spoon:

People who are wine all the time, this is your day.

David Spoon:

Wah, wah, wah.

David Spoon:

I guess they needed a day.

David Spoon:

Grab your candy cane and wine.

David Spoon:

Grab your candy cane and wine.

David Spoon:

But the last thing I think is the coolest one, and that is national thank you Note Day.

David Spoon:

And you're thinking, why?

David Spoon:

Because people would give thank you notes for their Christmas presents, stuff like that.

David Spoon:

But no, actually I think it's cool because when I had my bar mitzvah and we had hundreds and hundreds of people, I was required by my parents before I can enjoy any of the spoils of my bar mitzvah stuff, to write thank you notes to each and every person.

David Spoon:

You know, the last time I wrote thank you notes was my bar mitzvah thank you notes 50 years ago.

David Spoon:

That's all I'm going to say.

David Spoon:

You said there was 100 people there.

David Spoon:

Hundreds of people.

David Spoon:

So was your hand cramping by the end?

David Spoon:

My hand was cramping when I first said dear and then started writing after that for the very first one.

David Spoon:

And boy, talk about Winer's Day.

David Spoon:

That's where it really came into play.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Isn't that funny?

David Spoon:

Trivia question.

David Spoon:

Pretty straightforward.

David Spoon:

What was Paul's occupation along with being a minister?

David Spoon:

Acts 18:1 3.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

I say genuine.

David Spoon:

It's like some will and some it won't.

David Spoon:

But Colossians 2:1.

David Spoon:

Paul writes, For I want you to know how much I am struggling for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not met me face to face.

David Spoon:

Now I read that Colossians 2:1.

David Spoon:

I want you to know how much I'm struggling for you and for those in Laodicea and all who have not met my face.

David Spoon:

Ministry is not always face to face.

David Spoon:

Do you understand that?

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

The church that you're connected to, you should attend as much as possible because direct human involvement and contact is necessary.

David Spoon:

But not every ministry has direct human contact.

David Spoon:

Paul has this ministry to the Church of Colossae.

David Spoon:

Listen.

David Spoon:

They will never meet him, but they will continually bless each other.

David Spoon:

I read stuff like this and I think of our ministry.

David Spoon:

He must increase ministry.

David Spoon:

I see him And I'll get to him in a minute.

David Spoon:

I see that.

David Spoon:

And then I think of the David Spoon experience, and I think, 99.8%.

David Spoon:

I will not see any of you face to face, but we will continue to bless each other exactly like what Paul is talking about.

David Spoon:

He's like, I want you to know how much I'm struggling for you and for those at Laodicea and all who have not met me face to face.

David Spoon:

Not all ministry is face to face.

David Spoon:

And in fact, I've had.

David Spoon:

In the early days, I would watch certain Christian television and I would listen to certain Christian radio.

David Spoon:

And those were formative, powerful moments, effective moments in my Christian walk that helped me draw closer to the Lord.

David Spoon:

And I had never met any of those people face to face, but they blessed me nonetheless, and that I would try in turn bless them, even by more than just praying for them.

David Spoon:

That's what the idea is when we're doing radio ministry.

David Spoon:

So we do it live, and we know there's records where we replay.

David Spoon:

And you would be absolutely astounded if I told you how many times a replay somebody has listened to.

David Spoon:

And they will tell me through email or text or phone how they needed to hear that exact thing at that exact moment.

David Spoon:

And just sitting there going, only God could coordinate that.

David Spoon:

Nobody else.

David Spoon:

Only God.

David Spoon:

Colossians 2:1 is a solid stamp of approval for radio ministry.

David Spoon:

They'll never see him face to face, but they'll all bless one another.

David Spoon:

Get it?

David Spoon:

All right, we do have somebody ready to answer a trivia question.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Adalynn Schiller:

Hi, David.

Adalynn Schiller:

This is Rosalind.

David Spoon:

Hi, Rosalynn.

David Spoon:

How are ya?

Adalynn Schiller:

I could use some encouragement, but I do have lots of praises, and I do have a prayer request and an answer.

David Spoon:

Okay, let's go with the.

David Spoon:

Answer the praises and then the prayer request.

David Spoon:

Is that a good order?

David Spoon:

Okay, here's the question.

David Spoon:

The occupation of Paul, according to Acts, chapter 18, verse 1 through 3.

David Spoon:

What was his occupation?

Adalynn Schiller:

He was a tent maker.

David Spoon:

That is correct.

David Spoon:

Among you.

David Spoon:

I just can't tell if it was like, hey, the Apostle Paul, formerly Saul's tent making.

David Spoon:

You know, I just always wonder, how did that go?

David Spoon:

How did he promote that?

David Spoon:

I just want to know.

David Spoon:

It's the Apostle Paul's tent making him.

Adalynn Schiller:

They all gave him the business, lest anything bad happen.

David Spoon:

I just think it's so awesome.

David Spoon:

He could have come up with some of the best lines, right?

David Spoon:

You need a tent?

David Spoon:

I got a tent.

David Spoon:

All right, let's talk about the Great job there.

David Spoon:

Let's talk about the praises.

Adalynn Schiller:

Well, my mom is in a rehab center, so she's doing better.

Adalynn Schiller:

She's out of the hospital.

Adalynn Schiller:

And really, it's quite.

Adalynn Schiller:

It's pretty miraculous, David, because God has rescued my mom from literally from the clutches of death six times already.

David Spoon:

Wow.

Adalynn Schiller:

And it's a year ago today that she had the first time that she collapsed.

David Spoon:

Wow.

Adalynn Schiller:

And it's been all year long that we've been back and forth in the hospital.

Adalynn Schiller:

And this last time when we were in the hospital, it really looked like she wasn't gonna make it.

Adalynn Schiller:

And we were trying to figure out, okay, funeral plans and all this kind of stuff.

Adalynn Schiller:

It was just very hard.

Adalynn Schiller:

And my mom is in a rehab center now, so she's escaped the hospital again, Praise the Lord, because that is a miracle.

David Spoon:

That is a miracle.

Adalynn Schiller:

Right side is.

Adalynn Schiller:

Was, like, numb.

Adalynn Schiller:

And so now it's just her foot that is.

Adalynn Schiller:

It's asleep.

Adalynn Schiller:

And so she's.

Adalynn Schiller:

But.

Adalynn Schiller:

But you know what?

Adalynn Schiller:

Even though it's asleep, for the first time on Saturday, she took a step and so she walked.

Adalynn Schiller:

And she walked a little bit a few days afterwards as well.

Adalynn Schiller:

So even that, even though she didn't have feeling, it's like, that's getting better, too.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

I mean, you guys have gotta be flipping out because you're preparing, absolutely preparing, and rightly so, for the worst.

David Spoon:

Just, you know, everybody getting ready.

David Spoon:

But then it's going the other direction now, and it's like, wait a minute, wait a minute.

David Spoon:

I thought we were going this direction.

David Spoon:

Now we're going this direction.

David Spoon:

And the fact that she's out of the hospital, she's in rehab, and the fact that you just said she walked, it's like, she's not supposed to be walking.

David Spoon:

We're supposed to be done.

David Spoon:

Well, she's not done, is she?

Adalynn Schiller:

No.

David Spoon:

That's so awesome.

David Spoon:

Just what a great praise.

David Spoon:

What a great, great praise that is.

David Spoon:

By the grace of God, the Lord has had mercy on you guys in that process, and on her as well, but on you specifically.

David Spoon:

And what a blessing that is.

David Spoon:

Very.

Adalynn Schiller:

It's been a huge blessing.

Adalynn Schiller:

And Robert's grandma, now she's sick too, and we're just finding out, like, in the last few days that she's got some kind of advanced osteoporosis.

Adalynn Schiller:

And so it, you know.

Adalynn Schiller:

You know the.

Adalynn Schiller:

That movie Mr.

Adalynn Schiller:

Glass, where you touch him and the poor man breaks?

David Spoon:

Huh?

Adalynn Schiller:

You know, comic books, Right?

Adalynn Schiller:

So, yeah, so it's kind of something like that to where she's so delicate.

Adalynn Schiller:

She can just break.

Adalynn Schiller:

And so they're just.

Adalynn Schiller:

They don't really know how to.

Adalynn Schiller:

How to help her or treat her.

Adalynn Schiller:

And, you know, any.

Adalynn Schiller:

Anything could.

Adalynn Schiller:

Could cause her an injury.

Adalynn Schiller:

So that's.

Adalynn Schiller:

Just ask for prayer for her.

Adalynn Schiller:

Her name is Dolly.

David Spoon:

Okay, let's pray for her.

David Spoon:

We're going to pray for Dolly and Angelina as well as you and Robert, just because you guys are going through it and you're bearing the burden of it.

David Spoon:

But let's pray for both of them.

David Spoon:

Go ahead.

Adalynn Schiller:

Can we throw in the water heater?

Adalynn Schiller:

Because it suddenly started beeping today, too.

David Spoon:

Can we throw in the water heater?

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

Rosalind, I feel in my heart we can do this.

David Spoon:

It's a little funnier than the other ones, but.

David Spoon:

Okay, we'll.

David Spoon:

Okay, let's pray.

David Spoon:

That's brilliant, by the way.

David Spoon:

All right, let's pray.

David Spoon:

Father, we come before you right now.

David Spoon:

First and foremost, we thank you for Rosalind and Robert, and we thank you for the burden that they've been bearing.

David Spoon:

And you've given them strength yet faith in the face of fear.

David Spoon:

They've been able to say, wait a minute.

David Spoon:

And they still know you are in charge.

David Spoon:

You've got things covered.

David Spoon:

It's your will that is to be done, not the will of mankind.

David Spoon:

But it's thy kingdom come, thy will be done.

David Spoon:

And that's what they're living by.

David Spoon:

And so first, we're going to just preach straightforward.

David Spoon:

Lord, water heaters are expensive.

David Spoon:

They could use some help.

David Spoon:

They could use a break.

David Spoon:

Maybe you can just send them a little deliverance on that issue.

David Spoon:

But the pressing two issues are Dolly and Angelina.

David Spoon:

And, Lord, for Dolly and for her sake, she's in a very tough place, overly delicate, to touch and to break.

David Spoon:

And that's a hard thing, a hard place to be.

David Spoon:

It's not just hard for Rosalind, Robert.

David Spoon:

It's hard for Dolly.

David Spoon:

So we are asking for grace and for mercy and for healing and for touch and for comfort and for peace and for the kingdom of God to manifest in her life and that she would absolutely be touched by your spirit, the same Holy spirit that raised Jesus from the dead to bring restoration into her body to help her, to move her past this place.

David Spoon:

Lord, we already thank you for Angelina, how you've done so many awesome things.

David Spoon:

She's maybe making progress nobody anticipated.

David Spoon:

Just like we prayed for Noah earlier in the show.

David Spoon:

Bring her all the way.

David Spoon:

Don't leave her off.

David Spoon:

Just with that little bit left to go, bring her all the way into full deliverance, not just short of the goal.

David Spoon:

But past the goal.

David Spoon:

And we ask you just to bring peace and comfort for Robert and for Rosalind, who are carrying the burden.

David Spoon:

We are asking for abundance of grace, abundance of comfort, abundance of confidence, deliverance from fear and from the enemy.

David Spoon:

And we are asking that you would touch Angelina fully and completely and lift up Dolly and don't let her be in that place.

David Spoon:

And, Lord, they could use help with the water heater.

David Spoon:

You can help them with that.

David Spoon:

But we ask you to bless them as a family and comfort them and love on them and let them be loved and receive your love.

David Spoon:

We lift them up before you and we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Savior.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

And Amen.

Adalynn Schiller:

Amen.

Adalynn Schiller:

Thank you, David.

David Spoon:

You are welcome, Rosalind.

David Spoon:

Love you guys.

Adalynn Schiller:

Love you, too.

Adalynn Schiller:

Happy Christmas.

David Spoon:

Merry Christmas.

David Spoon:

Bye, bye.

Adalynn Schiller:

Bye.

David Spoon:

Bye, bye.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Excellent job there by Rosalind.

David Spoon:

Sharing and bearing.

David Spoon:

Bearing the burden of one another.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

I got two quick jokes, and then I'll go into the rest of the teaching.

David Spoon:

Just.

David Spoon:

These are two quick ones.

David Spoon:

Right, Right.

David Spoon:

Why did.

David Spoon:

Now, this is not very funny, but it's funny enough.

David Spoon:

Why did the golfer wear two pair of pants?

David Spoon:

Why did the golfer wear two pair of pants?

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

In case he got a hole in one.

David Spoon:

See?

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Why.

David Spoon:

Why is.

David Spoon:

Okay, why is tennis a noisy game?

David Spoon:

Because when you play it, you have to raise a racket.

David Spoon:

102.

David Spoon:

I'll take it.

David Spoon:

Okay, let's finish off in this Colossians thing.

David Spoon:

I don't want you to miss this, because this, too, is also cool.

David Spoon:

So, Paul, when he's talking to the Church of colossae, verse chapter 2, verse 1.

David Spoon:

To the Colossians, it says, for I want you to know how much I am struggling for you and for those that lay unto sea, and those who have not met me face to face.

David Spoon:

Listen to this.

David Spoon:

Verse 2.

David Spoon:

That they may be encouraged in heart, knit together in love, and filled with the full riches of complete understanding, so they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ.

David Spoon:

I just want to back this up to what Paul is talking about, what he's trying to accomplish, because we're going to deal with the mystery of Christ next week.

David Spoon:

But I want you to hear what he's saying.

David Spoon:

The reason that he wants to minister and he wants to be connected to the people is because he wants them to be encouraged in heart and knit together in love and filled with the full riches of the understanding of who Jesus is.

David Spoon:

Think of that.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

He's reaching out to them and connecting.

David Spoon:

So they'll be encouraged in Their heart.

David Spoon:

Do you not think?

David Spoon:

I read this and I go, gosh, that's kind of like what we try to do, knit together in love.

David Spoon:

I love that that's the connector, that it's loving one another, bearing with one another, helping one another, caring about one another, laughing with one another, crying with one another.

David Spoon:

All of that filled with the full riches of complete understanding of who it is we're dealing with.

David Spoon:

Do you know who you're dealing with?

David Spoon:

I often forget that Jesus is who he is in his glory.

David Spoon:

Remember, he said to the disciples, let's go across to the other side.

David Spoon:

And they said, okey dokey.

David Spoon:

And they got in the boat and that boat got swamped.

David Spoon:

And they were like, wake up, we're dying.

David Spoon:

This isn't happening.

David Spoon:

And then Jesus rebukes the wind and he rebukes the waves, and he turns to the disciples and he said, why did you have no faith?

David Spoon:

It's just such an amazing story.

David Spoon:

Because, you know, they're all like going, well, we were about to drown and there was a lot of water and there was a lot of wind.

David Spoon:

And why are you asking this?

David Spoon:

But the reason is because they didn't realize who it was who said, let's go over to the other side.

David Spoon:

It was Jesus, the son of the living God, through whom all creation came to existence through him.

David Spoon:

That's who said, let's go to the other side.

David Spoon:

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

David Spoon:

Even if they had to go over as a submarine, they were going over because the Son of the living God said, we're going over there and we need to understand who we're dealing with.

David Spoon:

So I love that because from a ministry point of view, and for what we try to do at Hmim, which is he must increase ministry.

David Spoon:

And the David Spoon experience is we try.

David Spoon:

Now, we're not doing this the way that Paul did this.

David Spoon:

There's a few people that did it the way Paul did it, but we have this similar connect.

David Spoon:

It's like we really, really, really want to encourage people.

David Spoon:

of our big thing, our Hebrews:

David Spoon:

We do want to build one another up, love each other, and get to a place where we have a better understanding of who Jesus is.

David Spoon:

Because if each and every one of us had a better understanding of who Jesus is, it would not just make for a better life for us, it would make a better life for everybody who's connected to us ever.

David Spoon:

It's like those are just absolutely brilliant principles to want to do the ministry by and yeah, we do.

David Spoon:

Sometimes we have it really good and sometimes not as good.

David Spoon:

And we make mistakes.

David Spoon:

Believe me, I make more mistakes.

David Spoon:

All you have to do is have my wife testify in a court of law to find out how many mistakes I make.

David Spoon:

She does pull out a calculator and start going down the list.

David Spoon:

Here's what I'm trying to tell you.

David Spoon:

Look, this is what we should be doing for one another, even if we don't see each other.

David Spoon:

This is why you should pray for one another.

David Spoon:

This is why you should bear with each other and help each other to encourage, to build up and to participate in the full understanding of who Jesus is.

David Spoon:

There is nothing better because then we are living the kingdom life and we are fulfilling that which God has set before us.

David Spoon:

Have to love it all right, folks, you've been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the true stationaire in Texas.

David Spoon:

22 and a half hour break.

David Spoon:

Then we'll come back, More insanity with Spoonanity.

David Spoon:

Talk to you then.

David Spoon:

The views expressed in the preceding program were those of the speakers and not necessarily those of KAAM, DJRD Broadcasting or its sponsors.
