Shownotes
Psychotherapist Emmy Brunner is a personal empowerment and transformation coach, CEO of the Recover Clinic and creator of an awakening and healing programme, From Lost to the River.
The core tenet of Emmy’s practice is that our mental health conditions are a response to trauma. She says:
“Everything from mild anxiety to more significant depressive episodes, everything that we talk about as mental health problems are the result of and a response to trauma.”
Growing up Emmy felt a “general blanket sense of unworthiness” and was invested in an overall lack of self-care which resulted in food and body issues.
It was during her clinical training in her early twenties when Emmy realised that the problem lay with how she felt about herself and had nothing to do with food. Her therapeutic “waking up” process continued and at just twenty-six she went into private practice.
Emmy loves her work and feels privileged to help so many, especially women, by empowering change and being of service. Tune into the full episode to hear Emmy talk about trauma, eating disorders and healing.
