Shownotes

Dr. Jeffrey Rediger is a Harvard professor, medical doctor, psychiatrist, and the author of “Cured: The Life-Changing Science of Spontaneous Healing.” His pioneering work studying recovery from terminal illness has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Dr. Oz Show.

In this episode, he lays out his pillars of wellness and invites us to get to grips with just how much control we have over our total wellbeing. He wants to bring about a new era in health and wellness. With two decades of research behind him, it’s about time people start to listen!

First, we chat about the unbelievable power of the placebo effect. Sure, it’s all in the mind by definition, but what if we were able to harness it as a form of treatment? Some of the research Jeffrey talks about in this field is downright incredible. Then, we move into a stark conversation on nutrition. Jeff believes that all illness – even mental – can be traced to inflammation caused by what we put into our bodies.

Next, we discuss how we can keep our immune systems working at their very best. With a global pandemic still ongoing, there’s never been a more important time to stop and take stock of our own stress levels. Are we stuck in a permanent fight-or-flight loop? Jeff teaches us that such a state is just about the worst thing we could do for our body’s immune system. So, what steps can we take to keep ourselves ready to fend off illness or disease?

It’s a truly fascinating conversation that’ll reshape how you (and hopefully the rest of the world) thinks about treating health. It’s time to stop looking for and blaming external factors and unlock our own wellness from within!
