of my most difficult periods in life.

Three years ago, in the midst of a

divorce following a 25 year marriage to

Jaco Pierce, I found myself on Interstate

70 in the middle of Kansas, headed

east to Atlanta from Boulder, Colorado,

contemplating the next chapter of my life.

And during that drive, which was mixed

with gratefulness, anger, frustration,

and sadness, I started to ponder the

future, not knowing what life would be

like with kids out of the house, and a

long relationship in the rearview mirror.
