Shownotes

A) As we enter into Matthew 18:7, we read that Jesus makes it clear about causing other people to stumble. In this passage, Jesus is not specifically addressing children. Rather, He is speaking to those who believe in Him. The message is applicable to all believers, warning them against imposing their own conclusions or personal interpretations on others, especially when these vary from the specific commands of Christ. Jesus emphasizes the seriousness of causing another believer to stumble in their faith.

B) When believers have personal preferences or interpretations, it is perfectly acceptable for them to hold these views. However, it becomes problematic when they try to impose these views on others, especially if these views are not aligned with Christ's teachings. This imposition can lead to confusion or even cause others to deviate from the true teachings of Christ. For example, if someone has a particular belief or practice that is not explicitly commanded by Christ, it should remain a personal matter. Imposing it on others is not beneficial and can lead to unnecessary division within the community of believers.

C) The reference to the moon landing is a metaphorical way to illustrate how irrelevant personal opinions can become when imposed on others. Just as the moon landing has no bearing on someone's faith, personal preferences or non-essential beliefs should not be imposed on others. It is essential to focus on the core teachings of Christ and ensure that we do not become stumbling blocks for others in their spiritual journey.
