Eight-year-olds are working to comprehend what it means to act responsibly. They are:
● working to understand the rules and apply them in different settings.
● working to gain their independence.
● taking more care of their bodies (eating right, exercising).
● learning how to navigate relationships (empathizing and working through conflict, managing their feelings and impulses, being dependable, and keeping promises).
● prioritizing homework and extracurricular activities, and
● contributing to their household (completing chores, cooperating with rules and expectations).
