Episode #84 : God's Promise To David

In this episode from September 6, 2022, Fr. Tom DiLorenzo reads from and comments upon the second book of Samuel chapters 5, 6, and 7 as well as Psalm 40. Representatives from all the tribes of Israel come to David at Hebron and name him king of all of Israel. They knew that the Lord was with David and had raised him up for this purpose, to be shepherd of Israel. David brings the ark of the covenant, upon which rested the presence of God, into the capital city, Jerusalem. When David decides to build a house to contain the ark, God, through the prophet, Nathan, tells David that he cannot build him a house but that God, himself, would build a house, a dynasty, for David that would never pass away. Jesus, the Son of David, fulfills this prophecy. His kingdom will never pass away. And his church is the new temple of God, whose members are filled with the Holy Spirit of the Almighty.
