Dr. Christelle Oliver-Dussault continues this series of short bonus episodes from Reclaim the Pink Within, created to offer grounding tools and restorative moments of pause for mothers navigating the demands and emotional shifts of everyday life. In this meditation, she guides listeners through a calming mountain meditation designed to cultivate resilience, stability, and inner stillness through breathwork and visualization. Using the imagery of a mountain standing strong through changing weather, this practice encourages mindfulness, emotional grounding, and a deeper connection to the steady presence within yourself.
About The Host:
Dr. Christelle Oliver-Dussault is a family physician with a clinical focus on aesthetic medicine, women’s health, and psycho-education. Her work is grounded in a holistic, whole-person approach that integrates medical science with a deep appreciation of the mind–body connection. Alongside her clinical practice, she is deeply committed to medical education and mentors the next generation of family physicians through her work with the Department of Family Medicine at the University of British Columbia.
She is the founder of Reclaim The Pink Within, a community created to support women through life’s most profound transitions. This project was born from personal experience. After becoming a mother, Dr. Oliver-Dussault became aware of a quiet but profound shift in her sense of self, one she had long observed in her patients, yet only fully understood once she lived it herself. What had once been a clinical observation became a deeply personal insight, shaping the lens through which she now supports and guides other women.

Slowly bring yourself into the moment. Bring
Speaker:yourself inwards.
Speaker:Check in.
Speaker:Are you feeling numb or are
Speaker:you feeling quite activated?
Speaker:Observe where you are on your dial of activation.
Speaker:With curiosity.
Speaker:Place a hand on your chest and a hand on your
Speaker:abdomen. Start by taking a big
Speaker:breath out.
Speaker:Then inhale deeply, bringing a
Speaker:breath all the way down to the bottom of your abdomen
Speaker:into your pelvis. And notice your
Speaker:hand moving as your belly expands like
Speaker:a balloon. Continue to
Speaker:take slow breaths in through the nose,
Speaker:feeling your belly rise, and slow breaths out
Speaker:through the mouth, feeling the
Speaker:belly fall.
Speaker:I'd like to guide you through a mountain meditation today.
Speaker:I find this meditation deeply grounding,
Speaker:especially in times of activation and
Speaker:in times where the world feel
Speaker:like it's whirling by or my mind
Speaker:is on overdrive.
Speaker:Find a comfortable seat either on
Speaker:a chair on the floor.
Speaker:Feel the floor beneath your feet, the
Speaker:chair or floor supporting your body.
Speaker:Pay attention to what the contact points feel
Speaker:like. Notice the stability
Speaker:and the solidity of this contact.
Speaker:Become aware of your upper body
Speaker:and how it balances over your hips.
Speaker:Allow your body to be still
Speaker:and sit with a sense of solidity
Speaker:and stability.
Speaker:Now start forming an image in your mind of the
Speaker:most magnificent mountain you have ever seen.
Speaker:I'm in the west coast of British Columbia and there
Speaker:is a particular mountain that always comes to mind on one of the very high
Speaker:mountain roads at the Coquihalla summit.
Speaker:It has a jagged edged rock face
Speaker:with a steep slope.
Speaker:Let your own image come into greater focus,
Speaker:even if this doesn't come as a visual image. Allow the sense of a
Speaker:mountain, the feeling of its overall shape,
Speaker:A large base rooted in the bedrock of the
Speaker:earth's crust. Notice how massive it
Speaker:is, how solid, how unmoving.
Speaker:Observe the mountain. Note its qualities.
Speaker:And when you feel ready, bring this mountain into your own
Speaker:body.
Speaker:Your body and the mountain
Speaker:and your mind become one.
Speaker:You share in the greatness and stillness of the mountain.
Speaker:Become the mountain with each breath
Speaker:as you continue sitting. Become a little bit more
Speaker:like a breathing mountain, alive and vital,
Speaker:yet unwavering in your stillness. Centered,
Speaker:grounded, unmoving.
Speaker:The mountain sits. It experiences change in
Speaker:every moment. It remains still
Speaker:as seasons flow into one another and as
Speaker:the weather changes moment by moment, day by
Speaker:day. At times it's visited by
Speaker:sunshine, others,
Speaker:violent winds and storms, snow,
Speaker:rain, changing weather
Speaker:patterns within an instant. But
Speaker:through it all, the mountain continues to
Speaker:sit, unmoved by the weather,
Speaker:by what happens on its surface. In
Speaker:the same way as we sit, we can
Speaker:learn to experience the mountain. We can
Speaker:embody the same unwavering solidity and
Speaker:groundedness in the face of everything that changes in our own
Speaker:lives, in our own minds.
Speaker:What we experience will vary in intensity and
Speaker:in threat in our outer world, in our
Speaker:minds and our bodies.
Speaker:And just like high winds, cold and rain, we endure a period of
Speaker:darkness and pain as well as moments
Speaker:of sunshine, joy and uplift.
Speaker:It may help to notice thoughts and
Speaker:feelings. Even
Speaker:things that happen to us are very much like the weather of the mountain.
Speaker:The weather of own lives is not to be ignored or denied.
Speaker:Acknowledge it, honor it.
Speaker:Recognize it for what it is.
Speaker:Hold it with openness even when it is uncomfortable.
Speaker:Mountains have this to teach us, and
Speaker:much more if we let them. So in
Speaker:the few remaining moments, continue to feel
Speaker:yourself as a mountain and the events of your
Speaker:mind as the weather.
Speaker:On your next exhale, start bringing movement
Speaker:into your body. Open your eyes.
Speaker:Stretch your arms up.
Speaker:Notice how you feel now. Where are you
Speaker:on your level of activation on your dial?
Speaker:If you found this helpful, feel free to
Speaker:reconnect and listen.
Speaker:With every practice, connection to the
Speaker:mountain, to your roots, becomes easier.
