Hello, everyone, everywhere.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Pastor Bob Thibodeau here.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Welcome to the Faith Based Business podcast for today.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:We're so blessed that you're joining us.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:We've been going over last week and this week about storytelling.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:This week we're talking about the science behind storytelling.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You know, storytelling is not just an art.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:We've shown you over the past week or so that it's a science that's deeply rooted in human biology.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:It's just in our innate nature to be able to tell stories that motivate people to do certain things.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And we learned that last time that you can create stories that inspire and engage your audience in a deep, meaningful way, observing the details in ordinary life.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Today I'm going to share the screen here.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Today I want to go over how to use visual storytelling to help you amplify your message.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And, and this is part four in this week's series that we'll be going into.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And visual storytelling just, I gotta say this, elevate your messages by combining images and videos and graphics and just creating that immersive experience.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And visuals enhance and and emotionally engage your listeners and those that you're telling the story to.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You should use symbols and imagery to help reinforce your narrative.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:In fact, one single picture, one visual, can often evoke emotions and reinforce themes that just using words alone.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Miss.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You know, just like the image that we used before about this parable, Jesus sows the word, you know, that I used in the prior episode.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Go back and watch it.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Everyone immediately connects with the idea of using common everyday things to tell a story.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:In this case, we referenced Jesus sitting on the hillside and using a farmer that everyone could see out there sewing to make the emphasis on the points he was trying to make.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau: d we can still visualize this: Pastor Bob Thibodeau:How can I say this?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Into compelling visuals.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You can take what might be confusing to just talk about and turn it into something that will bring your point across that's remembered by your audience months later.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Like right now, here's a test for you.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Which number out of this chart is missing?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:I'm going to give you five seconds to find it.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:What if I did it this way?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Here's a more visual example.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Can you find the missing number now?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Huh?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You have five seconds.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:So you probably already found it, right?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Which number is it?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Yeah, right there.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:32.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And the point being, when I put it in a graph rather than a chart and told you, go look for it, you're trying to go through the list of numbers really quick in your mind, and a lot of times you just miss it.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:But when it's in a graph, which was this visual, right?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:It's.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:There it is right there.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:That's the one that was missing.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:With visual metaphors and well designed multimedia events, you can create a narrative that your audience will remember.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And they'll remember the information you share because they will remember the visual in chat.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:If you're watching anyway, just tell me what video.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Just what was the number?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Just tell me right now what was the number that was missing?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You believe that down in chat, you know, that's fine.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:People watching this on YouTube or they'll wonder what all these number 32s are for.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Right?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:But that's, that's why you probably already answered 32, because you remember this.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:It was easy to see on the, on that bar chart that I just showed you a few minutes ago.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Right?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:But if you're just trying to look at that one graphic that had all the numbers listed there, you may have missed it.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Planning your visual narrative step by step for maximum impact in your presentation is vital.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Right.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:If I just showed you this chart gave no reference to anything, you would know why I even showed it to you.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Right?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:If 15 minutes later I showed the list of numbers and asked which one was missing, most of you would have to go back to Manly trying to work your way through the list to try and figure it out because there was no context about either one of the charts being given to you.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:So be sure to plan how you present this information visually.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You have to do it in a relatable way.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Okay.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Like, like I said, if I just showed you this chart and you see, okay, well, that's number that's in red.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Okay?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And then 10 minutes later showed you that list of numbers and said, tell me which number was missing or is missing.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:It wouldn't connect the two, but because since I showed you the first one and then said, now here is a way to figure it out, it makes complete sense.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:So you should try to combine photos and videos and graphics in order to create that cohesive, immersive storytelling experience.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:By leveraging the power of visuals, you help to ensure that your story is engaging and memorable and amplifying his reach and creating that more profound connection with your audience.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Now, next time we're going to be talking about creating a signature story that defines your mission.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And that's going to be a good one.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:So right now you have an opportunity.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:I'm going to be holding a live training on November 26th at 12 noon.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And it's about faithful storytelling, the power of faithful stories.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And we'll have several examples just like this as well, but you don't want to miss it.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And it is 27.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You know, the good thing is, if you register and you can't make the live training, it's only about 45 minutes long, 45 to an hour, max.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:I don't want to waste your lunch hour.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Okay.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:But if you register, you'll also receive a copy of the video so that you can replay it and take your time, work your way through it.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:So just go to faithcasteracademy.com forward/, faithful- storytelling.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:That address again is faithcaster academy.com forward slash, faithful- storytelling.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:So that's where we'll leave it at.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Till next time.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Man, it's.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:It's been good.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:We had a lot of information we went over, but I hope you got a lot out of it and understand the.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:The relationship between visuals and telling your story.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Till next time.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:This is Pastor Bob reminding you to be blessed in all that you do.
