Damn! That’s a Long Fuse! (Not the Bee)
Nine homes were destroyed when a blast in Indonesia's restive eastern Papua region startled locals with a thunderous boom on Sunday afternoon, emitting a ball of flames followed by a thick smoke column, according to footage broadcast on Kompas TV.
Authorities investigated the explosion and determined it to have come from a surprising source:
'The source of the explosion is strongly suspected to have been a bomb or mortar left over from World War II.
Three people are still recorded as missing, but Cahyo said several body parts have yet to be identified.
Five people were killed in the blast, with another 19 receiving treatment for injuries.

Los Angeles to become next Communist City (New York Post)
Nithya Raman has overtaken Spencer Pratt for the first time in the race for second place in Los Angeles’ mayoral contest.
New results released by Los Angeles County show Raman with 196,198 votes, or 27.12%, compared with Pratt’s 193,085 votes, or 26.69%.
The latest tally gives Raman a 3,113-vote lead after she trailed Pratt by 7,494 votes just one day earlier. Raman picked up 19,096 votes in Sunday’s count, more than double Pratt’s gain of 8,489 votes.
The latest batch of ballots produced a 10,607-vote swing between the two candidates, erasing Pratt’s advantage and moving Raman into second place.

Liberal Tears to block UFC Freedom 250 (Fox News)
Two Virginia residents are trying to put UFC Freedom 250 in a rear-naked choke before fight night.
A federal lawsuit filed against the National Park Service and the Department of the Interior seeks an emergency injunction to stop the UFC event scheduled for the White House South Lawn.
According to the lawsuit, organizers ignored federal permitting rules, skipped environmental reviews and triggered conflict-of-interest concerns.
The event is being promoted as part of America's 250th birthday celebration and, yes, the plan is to stage a UFC card on the White House lawn. According to the lawsuit, the problems start with hosting the fights in front of the executive mansion.
The plaintiffs argue the White House South Lawn and nearby federal property are subject to strict rules that generally prohibit commercial structures and private sporting events without environmental review and congressional approval.
