Shownotes
When we are thinking about things that we are doing throughout the day for our self care, maybe the expectation is that it'll be a bit flamboyant - you need to do something like Yoga, nails, or massages. Sometimes it comes down to be that you just need a minute alone, or 5 or 10. Join Linda and Jill as they dive into how self care is hard and that it's not a fluffy bear.
- When bombarded with questions like 'What are you doing for your self care today?' or 'What are you doing for your mental health today?' Often the response is 'uhhh' or 'no! I just want to run away right now, it's too hard, it's not that easy.'
- Self care is not all that its posted on Instagram to be.
- Self care is hard. it's not easy, its not fluffy. The effort required, the discipline to make it a priority.
- Expanding the question 'What are you going to do for self care today?' and adding on '... and how can I make it easier for you to do that?'
- Part of the hard is also being motivated and flexible when trying to be consistent or have a routine for self care.
Self care does require effort and discipline, and that's why we need our bandwidth to figure it all out. If you're already depleted or low bandwidth, the effort required to get to that point of 'well here's the self care I'm going to do today' it can feel really unachievable. If you are having a hard time with your self care we hear you, we absolutely know that it's really hard sometimes.
We would love to hear from you, it always encourages us to know you are listening along!
