Devonee:

Welcome to savvy, booked and blessed here.

Devonee:

Joining us in this episode is spiritual business mentor, marketing

Devonee:

expert, and founder of connect.

Devonee:

One marketing Timmy PI's journey began after gaining experience in

Devonee:

customer service and consulting.

Devonee:

From working in hospitality and banking in the UK, she learned how

Devonee:

to forecast, analyze, and understand trends as a resource planning

Devonee:

analyst, after experiencing a need for creative change and embarking on

Devonee:

a journey of spiritual development.

Devonee:

Timmy found her calling for marketing.

Devonee:

She defines her mission as uniting change makers, light workers, energy, healers,

Devonee:

and purpose driven soul to make a bigger impact and to arm the spiritual community

Devonee:

with business and marketing knowledge.

Devonee:

Hi Timmy.

Devonee:

Welcome.

Devonee:

Hey, thank you so much for having me.

Devonee:

I'm so excited to have a chat with you and loving the podcast that I was

Devonee:

listening to the previous episode as well.

Devonee:

Thank you so inspired.

Devonee:

Thank you.

Devonee:

Thank you, Tim.

Devonee:

Tell us again where you're from.

Devonee:

Because you were telling me before and I'm jealous yeah, right now I'm

Devonee:

located in Spain in the Canary island.

Devonee:

So it's a really awesome, amazing island.

Devonee:

And it's just a little bit west of of Africa.

Devonee:

So the weather is amazing or year round, never too hot.

Devonee:

Never too.

Devonee:

So I literally cannot complain Palm trees, beaches, all the

Devonee:

fun stuff that comes with it.

Devonee:

I feel like that's just like an entrepreneur's dream that we all

Devonee:

just strive to, the work anywhere be anywhere, which is, I think why

Devonee:

a lot of us, or at least for me did.

Devonee:

This , that was one of my drivers as well, a few years ago, why I wanted

Devonee:

to be always location independent.

Devonee:

So I also lived in S Lanka for a little bit.

Devonee:

I lived in Malta, which is another island, the UK Barcelona,

Devonee:

and who knows where I go next.

Devonee:

Maybe we have another check in a couple of years and I'd be completely all over

Devonee:

the place, or something you never know.

Devonee:

that's amazing.

Devonee:

I love that.

Devonee:

Tell us a little bit more about what you do and who you.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

So basically, as you insured me already, I'm a spiritual businessman.

Devonee:

So when people ask me what is even bad what do you do?

Devonee:

how does your day look like?

Devonee:

So basically I work with people who are purpose driven in a nutshell.

Devonee:

So anyone who wants to be making a positive difference in the

Devonee:

world, I help them to either start or grow their businesses.

Devonee:

So people who are either on their spiritual development journey or

Devonee:

they're on their self awareness journey, they tend to be a little bit confused

Devonee:

when it comes to building businesses.

Devonee:

So they don't always get the foundational marketing and business knowledge.

Devonee:

So that's when I come in and look at what is it that.

Devonee:

Should be doing in a more efficient or more optimized way, so they can go out

Devonee:

there and make a bigger, positive impact.

Devonee:

So that's what personally drives me.

Devonee:

I think that we are here on this planet for such a short time, might

Devonee:

as well make the most of it and leave something behind that is going to

Devonee:

make or work a little bit better.

Devonee:

Maybe it is a cliche as it is, but I think if we have the power to

Devonee:

do that, we definitely should at least try and see what comes out.

Devonee:

Yeah, absolutely.

Devonee:

On your journey of marketing, what led you to one starting your own business and then

Devonee:

nicheing down to this group of people.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

I always wanted to have my own business.

Devonee:

I remember when I was a kid, I was like five or six year, six years old.

Devonee:

I kept telling my parents that when I'm going to have my own business or when

Devonee:

I'm going to live here and do that.

Devonee:

So it's, it was always in the back of my mind.

Devonee:

I think it comes down to your character as well, but I always had.

Devonee:

You know that little self doubt and I felt I'm not ready.

Devonee:

I dunno how to do it.

Devonee:

I had all of these misconceptions in my mind that you need to have, I don't know,

Devonee:

like a large amount of investment to start a business, or you need to have X amount

Devonee:

of years of experience or qualifications.

Devonee:

All these social conditioning that were holding me back.

Devonee:

So when I finally took that leap forward that it was because I had

Devonee:

such a, an internal frustration in me.

Devonee:

I knew I had gained amazing experiences, working across many industries

Devonee:

and countries and divisions I get really good skill over the years.

Devonee:

It just wasn't fulfilling me anymore just to take on another C-suite

Devonee:

job or just to go into corporate again and money was not driving me.

Devonee:

I knew that something was missing and I felt really frustrated.

Devonee:

I felt even angry a little bit.

Devonee:

I felt I was wasting my potential in a way.

Devonee:

I see this happening actually quite a lot.

Devonee:

Within a, within this sector specifically.

Devonee:

So I quit my job.

Devonee:

My latest job that I quit was I was a sales and marketing director when I lived

Devonee:

in Barcelona and I didn't have a plan B.

Devonee:

I said now, or never, I need to figure out what I want to do with my life.

Devonee:

That allows me to be completely myself, to remain completely authentic

Devonee:

and do something that I truly love.

Devonee:

And I really enjoy.

Devonee:

And I wanted to love Mondays again, in a nutshell, I didn't want to

Devonee:

look forward to Friday afternoon.

Devonee:

I didn't want to live my life because the weekend is coming.

Devonee:

I wanted to just do something that really comes from deep

Devonee:

from my heart and from my soul.

Devonee:

And it just came to me initially.

Devonee:

It was, I quit my job.

Devonee:

I had Nolane I was sitting on my balcony and one day.

Devonee:

It just happened.

Devonee:

I realized that I can combine my love for personal and spiritual

Devonee:

development and building businesses and marketing in a way that I'm bringing

Devonee:

my two parts together in a way.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

So for me, that was the biggest catalyst frustration, biggest that internal

Devonee:

frustration that I just didn't know.

Devonee:

What I'm doing with my business life and my, in my career.

Devonee:

Sure.

Devonee:

I'm not sure if you can relate to that as well.

Devonee:

Or have you seen that happening?

Devonee:

Yeah, absolutely.

Devonee:

I was writing down something that you said about, and I can so relate to this.

Devonee:

When I started my business and marketing journey and strategic business planning is

Devonee:

just feeling angry in my previous job, not able to grow or using my skill set and.

Devonee:

No, sometimes I, not to brag or anything, but I think sometimes

Devonee:

it's I'm really good at what I do.

Devonee:

I'm very smart and I can do a lot of things.

Devonee:

And why aren't you guys, seeing it, and so I do.

Devonee:

Feel that deep in my bones and anger and frustration of not being able to work

Devonee:

in your magic and then what do you do?

Devonee:

It's you're being like held back, isn't it?

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

that you have all this potential and you are ambitious and you are able to

Devonee:

learn as well and you're open minded, but then when you're not in the right

Devonee:

environment or you don't have the right leaders or mentors, or you're surrounding

Devonee:

yourself with the right people.

Devonee:

You're just basically wasting your potential.

Devonee:

And it doesn't just mean at work specifically, but it'll trickle into the

Devonee:

rest of your life as well in other areas.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

If you're not happy at your work, you're going to go home and be frustrated at

Devonee:

your partner for not doing the dishes or something silly, and that had

Devonee:

nothing to do with him is just, you are not having the right attitude and

Devonee:

the mindset because you're not happy at your job or your career in a way.

Devonee:

That's my view, because I always say that we spend so much time working.

Devonee:

We probably spend about at least a third of our life working, why as

Devonee:

well, we should enjoy that time.

Devonee:

That's what I think.

Devonee:

And it is very difficult for people to figure out how to do that.

Devonee:

And it's not something that happens overnight usually, but

Devonee:

when it does happen, it's just such a liberating feeling.

Devonee:

You, you really feel like finally, I'm doing what I'm meant to be doing.

Devonee:

And I really wish that everyone could find this one way or around or another.

Devonee:

But what really helped me as well is removing myself from the known environment

Devonee:

and the familiar environment and just opening my mind and my life to new

Devonee:

experiences and just to figure out.

Devonee:

What is it that I want to be dealing and yeah, that usually helps removing

Devonee:

yourself from the known and the familiar usually helps you figure

Devonee:

out where is the new direction.

Devonee:

Yeah, absolutely.

Devonee:

So when you got to this place of I cannot do it anymore, what were take us back

Devonee:

to like really, what were the steps?

Devonee:

Was there like an overlap?

Devonee:

At least for me, there was like a good six month overlap between like my

Devonee:

regular job and this tell us a little bit more about how you got started.

Devonee:

I did that first.

Devonee:

So the first time I tried to start something on my own.

Devonee:

I miserably failed as many people would do.

Devonee:

Yeah I did that back in 2015, I believe, or 2014, something around that.

Devonee:

And I decided I actually took on a coach at the time.

Devonee:

I took on a career coach and he helped me figure out that I could be

Devonee:

doing this and become a consultant or a freelancer related to marketing.

Devonee:

The first attempt.

Devonee:

So I became a freelancer and within three or four months, I took a role

Devonee:

as well, which was great because it led me to some amazing things,

Devonee:

but I didn't have that courage.

Devonee:

I didn't have that level of confidence at the time.

Devonee:

Fast forward to a few years, that was early.

Devonee:

Find it 20 just before I were turned upside down.

Devonee:

I thought it's a great time to start a business.

Devonee:

Why not?

Devonee:

And that's when I felt that okay now or never.

Devonee:

So it.

Devonee:

It was a bit of a, like an ultimatum to myself.

Devonee:

I had to be a little bit firmer to myself.

Devonee:

I said, either I just give it a go and just be bit half about it.

Devonee:

And then we will see what happens again.

Devonee:

And maybe I have to repeat the same process in a few years time,

Devonee:

or I'm really going to figure out what is it that I want to be doing.

Devonee:

So the steps that I took.

Devonee:

I pulled the rug under my feet.

Devonee:

That was that one I said, wow, I need to cut the safety net, which between

Devonee:

my case was the job that I had, the director job, it was a great job.

Devonee:

It was a great team, great company.

Devonee:

People were making an impact, but I just felt it wasn't my heart.

Devonee:

Wasn't in it fully.

Devonee:

So I said, I cannot be.

Devonee:

Comfortable in that situation that I know I'm still gonna have some

Devonee:

income coming in and I can do things.

Devonee:

And I have, my days filled up with activities.

Devonee:

I had to remove that for me, that was a distraction.

Devonee:

And to even recognize that it was distracting me from really figuring out

Devonee:

how to step forward, because that was my biggest question, mark what do I do?

Devonee:

And how do I do.

Devonee:

I knew that I had to remove that it was scary as hell, not knowing what's

Devonee:

going to happen next, but I just knew that I have to have confidence in

Devonee:

myself and I have to believe in myself to know that something will work out.

Devonee:

If I don't have a plan B, I'm going to come up with the solution

Devonee:

and that's exactly what happened.

Devonee:

So then what I did next, when I already stopped working it, it literally took

Devonee:

me about a month, not even there.

Devonee:

So I stopped working there at the beginning of January.

Devonee:

And by the end of January, early February, I launched my business.

Devonee:

So it was literally a matter of few weeks and I spent time on doing what

Devonee:

I loved doing that was the key to it.

Devonee:

I figured out what are the things that I loved?

Devonee:

I loved socializing.

Devonee:

I was going out networking with other kick as female entrepreneurs and

Devonee:

just being in that environment, they really motivated me as well to see the

Devonee:

examples to hear their struggles and their challenges and just having those

Devonee:

conversations really helped me to.

Devonee:

To take that step forward.

Devonee:

So that was one of the actions I took to surround myself with people that either

Devonee:

were in my shoes before, so they can relate to what I was going through, or we

Devonee:

were already in the same boat so we could support and inspire each other that I

Devonee:

think having that support system was huge.

Devonee:

And having that inspiration is just massive.

Devonee:

The listeners of this podcast, probably.

Devonee:

That's why they're listening as well, because I they're going

Devonee:

through something similar.

Devonee:

So yeah, if you're doing the right thing, if you're listening,

Devonee:

so please keep listening.

Devonee:

yes, please keep listening.

Devonee:

No, it's so true.

Devonee:

I, having a mentor was one of the, if not the best decision I did as well, as soon

Devonee:

as I was like, all right, I'm gonna do the damn thing and getting me a mentor.

Devonee:

Very.

Devonee:

On, even before I started my business, I think completely I

Devonee:

couldn't imagine them starting it.

Devonee:

it's speeds things up for you.

Devonee:

It definitely speeds things up for you.

Devonee:

So even though and I really believe in the power of mentoring and coaching as well,

Devonee:

because I went through it so many times at so many different phases of my life.

Devonee:

So when I first had my coach, as I said back in 2015, it, he helped me figure.

Devonee:

The initial direction.

Devonee:

I didn't follow through completely at a time.

Devonee:

It's down to me, not to the coach, but then I took another coaching

Devonee:

program back in 2021 when I already had my business, because I knew

Devonee:

that I need to start growing it.

Devonee:

I need to start looking at for new opportunities.

Devonee:

So it gave me something completely different.

Devonee:

Same comes with finding your mentor, finding your support

Devonee:

system, finding people that you look up to and asking questions.

Devonee:

That what helped me throughout the years, I asked so many questions.

Devonee:

I probably annoyed a lot of people in my career by constantly asking questions,

Devonee:

but it's such a great way to accelerate that, that growth and avoid making the

Devonee:

same mistakes that other people made.

Devonee:

But even if you make mistakes, I think that's fine meant to

Devonee:

be doing those, these things.

Devonee:

Absolutely.

Devonee:

Absolutely.

Devonee:

It.

Devonee:

Yeah, it really helps.

Devonee:

So going back to that scene on my balcony and back in Barcelona, early

Devonee:

20, 20, but I took these steps already.

Devonee:

I had the support system.

Devonee:

I literally grabbed my notebook.

Devonee:

I'm very old school.

Devonee:

I write with pen and paper and I started writing down what are the

Devonee:

things that I enjoy doing and how can I make money out of these things?

Devonee:

And that was literally it figuring it out what am I naturally good at?

Devonee:

What are the things that I love passionately love love doing.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

Can I make any sort of revenue, can I build a business out of any of these?

Devonee:

And this is how it all made sense, and this is how it all clicked for me.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

And the rest is just tweaking and changing and bettering it.

Devonee:

And I'm sure I'm gonna change my website a hundred more times for the next 10

Devonee:

years, but , it's just part of the game.

Devonee:

Just get started.

Devonee:

That's the key message.

Devonee:

Yeah, just getting started.

Devonee:

Absolutely.

Devonee:

So what made you, so after, creating that lift, when did you decide that spiritual

Devonee:

workers and, world changers were the niche that you wanted to work with?

Devonee:

Yeah, so my.

Devonee:

Core value was that I wanted to be completely myself and

Devonee:

that what was driving me.

Devonee:

So it will heavily depend if someone wants listening and

Devonee:

wants to start their business.

Devonee:

First of all, figure out why do you want to start the business?

Devonee:

Why do you want to, or start a new career?

Devonee:

But ideally if you are an entrepreneur you want to be running your own game.

Devonee:

So figure out the intention behind it.

Devonee:

Why is it important to you?

Devonee:

For me personally, my intention behind it was, I didn't want to portray to

Devonee:

be someone I'm not I got so sick of the playing the games in the boardroom

Devonee:

and trying to be aggressive with my sales or trying to be sure very mean

Devonee:

sometimes when I was negotiating that wasn't me, I'm a very nurturing and

Devonee:

caring character, but when I was.

Devonee:

In my career in my previous roles, I had to be really tough and I had to be

Devonee:

really masculine and it just wasn't me.

Devonee:

I lost myself throughout that process.

Devonee:

So that's the core point that was driving me personally.

Devonee:

I wanted to become me in everything I do, and I'm not going to be working

Devonee:

with other people just because they have a bigger wallet or it will look

Devonee:

better on my website or on my resume.

Devonee:

And that's exactly why I chose the spiritual community.

Devonee:

As I mentioned, I'm a big fan of personal development and spiritual development.

Devonee:

And I wanted to work with clients who I would imagine them as they

Devonee:

could also become my friends.

Devonee:

And that was my way of thinking.

Devonee:

I started asking myself what kind of people I would want to hang out with,

Devonee:

what kind of people I enjoy having meaningful, deep conversations with.

Devonee:

And it was these kind of people that like, you could talk about mindset and

Devonee:

consciousness and energy and the universe.

Devonee:

And I could talk about this stuff for hours.

Devonee:

And I.

Devonee:

Might as well.

Devonee:

I talk about these people at work and yeah.

Devonee:

In between, talk about strategies and optimizing their businesses.

Devonee:

We can have a nice chat.

Devonee:

Changing your mindset.

Devonee:

So that was my initial starting point.

Devonee:

And when I came to this conclusion, I did a proper market research as well.

Devonee:

So I didn't just bend after this initial thought, my marketing brain kicked in.

Devonee:

And I realized that was such a thing as a spiritual industry,

Devonee:

until that point I had no idea.

Devonee:

I thought I came up with this cool concept.

Devonee:

I'm like, great.

Devonee:

I'm.

Devonee:

Turns out, no, this already exists.

Devonee:

So anyway, it's made my life a bit easier.

Devonee:

It was already there.

Devonee:

And then I looked at the trends and I could see that the demand is there.

Devonee:

So if you are starting a business, make sure that, the

Devonee:

intentions, why you are doing it.

Devonee:

Who do you want to be serving and the people that you want to be serving.

Devonee:

Would you wanna hang out with them?

Devonee:

Ask yourself that question.

Devonee:

If a customer calls you up because you mess something up.

Devonee:

Would you want to have a coffee with them?

Devonee:

Could you have a decent conversation with them?

Devonee:

If not, you're probably going off to the wrong audience and and they're

Devonee:

not going to resonate with you if they feel that you have nothing in

Devonee:

common and they cannot relate to you or you cannot relate to them.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

So that.

Devonee:

That's the starting point, I think for anyone.

Devonee:

And then look at the actual statistics, the analysis and look at the real demand

Devonee:

and look out for gaps in the market.

Devonee:

In my case, it was obvious I was bringing marketing as my major

Devonee:

skillset and the sort of big picture view from my business background.

Devonee:

And I realized that these people that I wanted to.

Devonee:

They were severe lacking this kind of knowledge.

Devonee:

And it just made sense to me.

Devonee:

I said, I might as well, I can pass on my knowledge to people who are actually

Devonee:

driven to, to make or at a better place.

Devonee:

And it would make me feel fulfilled on a personal level, knowing that

Devonee:

the knowledge that I'm passing on.

Devonee:

He's going into the right hands as to speak and yeah.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

And not just to fuel one of the big corporations who don't

Devonee:

care, anything about or word, but just going off the profit.

Devonee:

So comes down to personal preference.

Devonee:

I think you need to understand who you are and what's important for you and

Devonee:

then build a business on top of that.

Devonee:

Yeah, absolutely.

Devonee:

When you were talking about the.

Devonee:

Spiritual providers and maybe some gaps in knowledge that they have.

Devonee:

What are maybe some common trends that you have noticed?

Devonee:

Confusion?

Devonee:

Confusion is the big one.

Devonee:

Confusion is the big one because they tend to have an information overload

Devonee:

because there's so much information out there when you start Googling things.

Devonee:

If, for example, like how do I grow my business by the end

Devonee:

of it, you are dizzy because.

Devonee:

So much noise out there.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

And everything is all these buzzwords and these fancy words.

Devonee:

And of course, people are going to get confused.

Devonee:

If someone who's never studied or worked in marketing or business development,

Devonee:

I'm not surprised at all that people get frustrated and extremely confused.

Devonee:

And that's the common theme that I'm seeing happening that they know

Devonee:

that they have to do something.

Devonee:

They become paralyzed, starting to do anything because the noise is just so loud

Devonee:

and they don't even know where to focus.

Devonee:

Lack of focus is another big one that I'm seeing that the spiritual

Devonee:

community specifically heavily relies on their intuition, which is amazing.

Devonee:

I do the same thing.

Devonee:

I have.

Devonee:

Cars behind me that I pull sometimes when I'm checking on of my strategies

Devonee:

is this really in line with me or not?

Devonee:

So you can use intuition in business perfectly well, and it's absolutely

Devonee:

fine, but you need to add a strategy behind it, just using just your gut

Devonee:

feeling is going to take you far.

Devonee:

Great is going to be amazing.

Devonee:

But if you want to be consciously scaling and growing and making a bigger

Devonee:

impact, you need to have some form of aligned strategy and not just follow the.

Devonee:

Growth hackers.

Devonee:

Yes.

Devonee:

And the so called expert is no, you need to do something that feels right for you.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

And that's a common theme as well that they read something or

Devonee:

they see something that is the latest buzz or the latest trend.

Devonee:

They try it.

Devonee:

Or someone told them you have to be on Instagram 24 7 for example.

Devonee:

No, you don't , find what feels right for you and build a strategy that allows

Devonee:

you, that you can remain yourself.

Devonee:

So you're not going against your values, but at the same time, you are making

Devonee:

money for your business and you are serving your customers in a genuine way.

Devonee:

Yes.

Devonee:

These are big things and it happens a lot, unfortunately.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

Yeah, no, I, whew.

Devonee:

I can agree more and what we do is very similar in that way.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

Of, of just also debunking all of the.

Devonee:

Bullshit that's out there.

Devonee:

yeah.

Devonee:

People just get lost.

Devonee:

And when you, I think, if you don't have a mentor, if you don't have a strategy

Devonee:

at least something loose, when you're, when you get started, , you will just

Devonee:

get washed away with all of the things.

Devonee:

And sometimes like simplicity, it's so much better and so

Devonee:

much easier and cleaner.

Devonee:

But also having people like us, helping to keep you out of

Devonee:

all of that mess is is though.

Devonee:

So incredible.

Devonee:

That's the key, and I'm sure that you keep seeing this happening over and over again.

Devonee:

That's people come to you and they were like, yeah, I wanna do this, but they

Devonee:

don't even know how to get started.

Devonee:

And that's exactly why you need someone like you, or I, that has the external

Devonee:

point of view and you are not emotionally caught up in the whole process.

Devonee:

You can objectively look at, okay, here's what's going wrong.

Devonee:

Are you here to listen to me and see what we can do for you?

Devonee:

Yes or no, because if someone, I would say, don't go and

Devonee:

find a mentor for yourself.

Devonee:

If you're not ready to receive advice.

Devonee:

And if you're not open minded, to make changes because clearly if something isn't

Devonee:

working, you need to change something up.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

And if someone is not open to receiving that constructive

Devonee:

feedback, or even sometimes could feel like criticism for some people.

Devonee:

Please don't work with mentors or coaches because , you are going to be

Devonee:

throwing your money away and you're not going to be having a great time,

Devonee:

but if you are truly committed to make some lasting changes, not just in your

Devonee:

business, but in your own mindset as well.

Devonee:

And in your, generally in your mood and your life, then those are

Devonee:

definitely one of the best investments.

Devonee:

And.

Devonee:

I'm still benefiting from what I learned from six, seven years ago from my first

Devonee:

coach, because yeah the methods and the tools that he was teaching me I'm still

Devonee:

using them day to day, like 80, 20 rules.

Devonee:

So I don't burn myself out.

Devonee:

So those things I'm still using.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

I think also to add to that, yes.

Devonee:

Working with mentors and things but also when you decide to work with a strategic

Devonee:

service provider, either an OBM or a marketing, specialist or whatever Also

Devonee:

be prepared to shake some things up.

Devonee:

Cause I it's always fun.

Devonee:

The first, few weeks or months working with someone it's so

Devonee:

why did you decide to do this?

Devonee:

And a lot of times, which we've all been there, it's just, I

Devonee:

thought it would be easier.

Devonee:

Or I saw this tool or so, and so used this tool.

Devonee:

And so I thought it would be good and none of that is wrong.

Devonee:

But the way that we're thinking and working.

Devonee:

Is not only what works for you now, but what works in six

Devonee:

months, 12 months, three years.

Devonee:

Because all of these tools, especially when it comes to marketing and operations.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

There's a new tool every other day.

Devonee:

That's a, I do all the things, none of the things, this thing,

Devonee:

plus this and it, you just get.

Devonee:

Get lost.

Devonee:

That's just one thing.

Devonee:

But the other thing that also happens is that as you are growing as an entrepreneur

Devonee:

and you are becoming more confident, you're becoming more experienced and

Devonee:

you just become a lot better at what you do, your goals will change over time

Devonee:

and your business has to reflect that.

Devonee:

So if you came up with a cool strategy that worked great for you, I don't

Devonee:

know, two years ago, because at the time you were struggling to, let's

Devonee:

say to get clients, and now you.

Devonee:

Phase when you have too many clients and you're falling behind on your

Devonee:

administration or, yeah, I don't know.

Devonee:

Like you're not having time to deal with customer reviews or things like that.

Devonee:

So these goals are changing over time as you are evolving as a person,

Devonee:

your business needs to reflect that.

Devonee:

So it's absolutely, it's perfectly okay to change even direction sometimes.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

But even become that now you realize that you've outgrown yourself and

Devonee:

you are outgrowing your own business.

Devonee:

So yeah.

Devonee:

That's not a nice feeling to have, That's the case.

Devonee:

Look at ways.

Devonee:

How else can I expand to not just with my business, but based on who I've become

Devonee:

as a person compared to who I was six months ago or yesterday or two years ago.

Devonee:

Do the same thing, do the same thing in your business.

Devonee:

Otherwise you're not going to have a fun time in the long term.

Devonee:

you're going to end up hating your business because it's

Devonee:

holding you back over time.

Devonee:

Absolutely.

Devonee:

Absolutely.

Devonee:

Gosh, I couldn't agree more.

Devonee:

Moving into.

Devonee:

One of the, fun part of the discussion, just to learn a little bit more

Devonee:

about you is our speed round.

Devonee:

So these are just fun questions to learn a little bit more about you.

Devonee:

First question is what book or TV show are you obsessed with right now?

Devonee:

Book the one, the number one book that I always go back to is

Devonee:

Napoleon who think and grow rich.

Devonee:

That was a big catalyst for my own mindset.

Devonee:

And I love that it was written like nearly a hundred years ago.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

And it's still relevant.

Devonee:

So that's definitely one of the best books for mindset and goal setting.

Devonee:

TV shows.

Devonee:

I really love dark.

Devonee:

I love, I dunno if you've seen it.

Devonee:

It's cool.

Devonee:

It's about time traveling and like all this mind bending.

Devonee:

I like cool TV shows that.

Devonee:

Making you like what's going on?

Devonee:

I don't get it.

Devonee:

Yeah, no, I love that.

Devonee:

It's called dark.

Devonee:

Is that what you said?

Devonee:

Dark.

Devonee:

It's a German TV show, but it's all Netflix in English.

Devonee:

So it's it's a really cool one.

Devonee:

I would so recommend it.

Devonee:

It's a really cool storyline.

Devonee:

yeah.

Devonee:

Awesome.

Devonee:

Okay.

Devonee:

What is one of your favorite quotes or mantras either told to you read or your

Devonee:

own personal that you go back to often?

Devonee:

I have a lot of them, but if I have to pick just one, I have no idea who

Devonee:

said it was a super smart person out there, somewhere in the universe.

Devonee:

But the saying is that nothing changes if nothing changes and I just love that.

Devonee:

It's so powerful because you cannot expect something great to happen to you

Devonee:

if you're not doing something differently.

Devonee:

So nothing changes if nothing changes.

Devonee:

Yeah.

Devonee:

Love that.

Devonee:

Okay.

Devonee:

Last question.

Devonee:

If you had 10 hours back in your week, what would you do with those 10 hours?

Devonee:

I probably do some voluntary work.

Devonee:

I'm such a high energy person that I cannot just sit still for too long.

Devonee:

So even I actually took an eight, nine month break from my career

Devonee:

when I was figuring things out.

Devonee:

And I that's when I was traveling for a bit and I still ended up taking on Pro

Devonee:

bono projects because I was just bored.

Devonee:

And I was like, yeah, I was in S Lanka in the middle of a jungle.

Devonee:

And I ended up delivering a customer service training to those people who

Devonee:

were running your host over there.

Devonee:

So I that's probably, I would be doing just to find someone

Devonee:

who's completely confused.

Devonee:

Doesn't have the finances to invest in a mentor.

Devonee:

And probably I would dedicate my time to that to give back to the community,

Devonee:

because if I can use my time wisely, Then probably that would be the best way of

Devonee:

doing it to create some ripple effect.

Devonee:

And then hopefully that person can then do the same.

Devonee:

And that's how we all make an impact on one another.

Devonee:

I love that.

Devonee:

Perfect.

Devonee:

Timmy.

Devonee:

It's so great chatting with you.

Devonee:

If people aren't listening and they wanna find you where can they go?

Devonee:

Yeah, the best way is to go to my website, which is connect

Devonee:

one marketing and it's one.

Devonee:

O E not the number one.

Devonee:

So connect one, marketing.com.

Devonee:

And I've got a ton of free resources there as well.

Devonee:

Devonee:

or grow their business, so feel free to, to browse through.

Devonee:

Devonee:
