“Dwellers in Silence” takes place near the end of the future history, when Mars is in crumbling ruins and Man has traveled outward to the remaining planets of the solar system. After some 20 years a ship arrives from one of the outer planets to revisit Mars to see if anyone might still be alive. What the three astronauts find forms the crux of this bitter-sweet tale.
