David Spoon emphasizes the importance of recognizing that everyone has a ministry, regardless of their visibility or audience size. He encourages listeners not to underestimate their roles in the Kingdom of God, explaining that even small acts of faith and service can have significant impacts. Through personal anecdotes and a discussion on the concept of spiritual down payments, David illustrates how God has secured each of us as His own through the Holy Spirit. He highlights the transient nature of our earthly struggles, comparing them to a tent that will eventually be replaced by a permanent dwelling in heaven. With humor and insight, he reminds us that the challenges we face now are momentary and light compared to the eternal glory that awaits us.
Dr. David Spoon takes listeners on a profound journey through faith and personal experience in this engaging podcast episode. The narrative begins with a light-hearted yet thought-provoking monologue that sets the tone for a discussion on the significance of recognizing one’s personal ministry, regardless of how grand or humble it may appear. Spoon emphasizes that everyone is called to be a minister in their own right, challenging the misconception that ministry only exists within the confines of a church or in front of a large congregation. He articulates that every individual has a unique role in God's kingdom, underscoring the importance of understanding and embracing one’s spiritual gifts as part of a larger divine plan.
As the conversation progresses, Spoon delves into a metaphorical exploration of life's challenges, comparing them to a 'down payment' that God places on each individual. He draws a parallel between financial transactions and spiritual ownership, asserting that God has put a down payment on each of us through the Holy Spirit. This analogy not only highlights the secure nature of our relationship with the divine but also instills a sense of hope and purpose in listeners who may feel lost or insignificant in their daily lives. The discussion shifts to personal anecdotes, where Spoon reflects on his own life experiences, including moments of doubt and the overwhelming nature of modern life. He recalls his journey from struggle to finding solace and direction through faith, encouraging listeners to stretch their faith and trust in God's promises, even in the face of adversity.
The episode culminates in a powerful prayer segment, where Spoon intercedes on behalf of listeners facing their own battles, be it anxiety, depression, or personal loss. By sharing prayer requests and lifting them up collectively, he emphasizes the importance of community and support in the Christian walk. The episode wraps up with light-hearted banter and witty humor, leaving the audience with a renewed sense of purpose, the understanding that their struggles are temporary, and a compelling reminder that they are indeed ministers of the Gospel, equipped to make a difference in their environments. This podcast not only serves as a source of encouragement but also a call to action for individuals to embrace their spiritual roles and support one another in faith.
Takeaways:
And now for something completely different.
David Spoon:Here's what's coming up this hour on Today's Experience.
David Spoon:Do you like how I drew that out so that it took more time?
David Spoon:Pretty good, huh?
David Spoon:It's fantastic.
David Spoon:Phenomenal.
David Spoon:Always fun.
David Spoon:Usually somewhat fascinating.
David Spoon:Friday, as we head into the weekend, not being afraid, even if the earth gives way or the mountains fall into the seas, because our help comes from the Lord.
David Spoon:First, it's Friday.
David Spoon:I love Fridays.
David Spoon:First lesson is understanding how we can continue to operate in ministry in any way, shape or form.
David Spoon:Now, I know many people out there don't think you have a ministry.
David Spoon:You're wrong.
David Spoon:You're incorrect.
David Spoon:Biblically, you have a ministry like any every other person in the kingdom of God.
David Spoon:You just don't call it a ministry because you're not in front of 500 people every Sunday morning.
David Spoon:You are a minister and you have a ministry.
David Spoon:And we're just going to discuss what might help you maintain this.
David Spoon:Next.
David Spoon:For a real estate example or a car purchase example, there is often a requirement in order to obtain ownership.
David Spoon:That requirement is commonly referred to as a down payment.
David Spoon:Spiritually, with the financing in place, God puts a down payment on you and me, securing his purchase of every one of our very own lives as his possession.
David Spoon:Cool, right?
David Spoon:And finally, in closing out this week's teaching, we will deal with the heaviness of things being heavy.
David Spoon:Now listen to.
David Spoon:This really will help you.
David Spoon:There's a fancy way of saying that everything we're going through is nothing in the grand scheme of things.
David Spoon:I will direct you to your own youth and remind you that when you had problems at 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, you thought those problems were the end of the world.
David Spoon:And as you grew up and moved forward, you found out that wasn't the case.
David Spoon:That's because they were.
David Spoon:That's because they were short and only minutely impactful in our lives compared to what you're going through now.
David Spoon:Did you get that?
David Spoon:What you're going through now makes those things seem insignificant.
David Spoon:And yet the things we go through now are also very insignificant.
David Spoon:That, my friends, is a big hint for every one of us.
Narrator:David Spoon's life has been an experience.
Narrator:While growing up in a Jewish family, he made a wrong turn towards drug abuse.
Narrator:Then David Spoon found Jesus Christ and his life completely changed.
Narrator:The more he studied the gospel, the more he wanted to share his experiences with others.
Narrator:After 35 years of ministry, David discovered a new path of service.
Narrator:He joined Kam and this radio program began.
Narrator:You're about to hear the David Spoon experience.
David Spoon:Welcome to the David Spoon Experience, local, national and Heavenly Talk.
David Spoon:Here's what else we're looking at during the show.
David Spoon:Lessons for surviving living and prevailing politics, entertainment and current events, personal revelations, spiritual observations, my life's insanities, and oy vey, so much more.
David Spoon:Now remember, it's not professional radio.
David Spoon:Ladies and gentlemen, to prove it's not professional radio, we will talk to the Caesar of professional radio, our very own Jamming Jacob.
David Spoon:Jamming Jacob is the David Spoon Experience professional radio?
Jamming Jacob:No, it is not.
David Spoon:David, by the way, you make an excellent salad dressing.
David Spoon:I just want to point that out as the Caesar.
David Spoon:Okay.
Jamming Jacob:All right, thank you.
Jamming Jacob:And that, that intro, that is so true.
Jamming Jacob:Like, it's funny looking back at certain situations, it's like certain things and you think, why was I stressing about that?
David Spoon:Isn't it amazing when you're 9 or 10 and it was like your entire world that consumed you, right?
David Spoon:And now like you're in your 20s or 30s or 40s or 50s, where they're going, really?
David Spoon:It's like you just like.
David Spoon:It's almost like you can make fun.
Jamming Jacob:Of yourself to some degree right at the time.
Jamming Jacob:It's.
Jamming Jacob:It.
Jamming Jacob:It feels so significant.
Jamming Jacob:Like, is this the most important thing ever?
Jamming Jacob:Then you look back, you're like, why was I stressing about that?
Jamming Jacob:And then we're.
Jamming Jacob:We're going to do the same thing now.
David Spoon:Yep, same thing.
Jamming Jacob:We're going to stress about something and then years from now, look back, why was I stressing about that?
David Spoon:Yep, exactly.
David Spoon:Excellent observation.
David Spoon:See, that's Jacob is where he is now.
David Spoon:Listen, you gotta be thinking, okay, Dave, what are you looking for?
David Spoon:I'm looking to find out how you're doing.
David Spoon:What are you thinking?
David Spoon:Where are you going?
David Spoon:Hey, if you want to, you can email us.
David Spoon:It does work.
David Spoon:Really.
David Spoon: ust increase.org you can text: David Spoon:Or, or.
David Spoon:Or you can call us just like Curtis.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Well, by golly, you'll end up talking to Jammin Jacob.
David Spoon:Talking to Jammin Jacob is like heading into the weekend.
David Spoon:A little delay there.
David Spoon:I know why you delayed, isn't it?
David Spoon:It's because you have to work this weekend, don't you?
Jamming Jacob:Maybe.
Jamming Jacob:Maybe.
Jamming Jacob:Hello, David.
Jamming Jacob:Happy Friday.
David Spoon:Happy Friday to you, my friend.
David Spoon:You did an excellent job.
David Spoon:That was a great Observation, by the way.
David Spoon:And I'm glad you shared that.
David Spoon:You should have.
David Spoon:You are free to share those things.
David Spoon:So I want to make sure you know that.
David Spoon:Good job.
David Spoon:Yeah.
Jamming Jacob:You got it.
David Spoon:Yeah.
Jamming Jacob:You should have changed it to you're talking.
Jamming Jacob:Or was it like talking to Jamie?
Jamming Jacob:Jacob is like working on the weekend.
David Spoon:Working tomorrow.
David Spoon:He is in the studio.
David Spoon:Okay.
Jamming Jacob:Anyway, that doesn't roll off the tongue as well.
David Spoon:It doesn't have the right flow.
David Spoon:Something missing with that.
David Spoon:Here's the bottom line, folks.
David Spoon:Why in the world would you text us?
David Spoon:Why in the world would you email us?
David Spoon:Why would you call us?
David Spoon:We're going to make that very clear.
David Spoon:But before I do.
David Spoon:Okay, no, I'll just make this very clear here it is.
David Spoon:The reason that you did any of that is maybe to share a praise report.
David Spoon:And I'm going to share something, I promise you, if I can share it.
David Spoon:Right.
David Spoon:You're going to go.
David Spoon:No way.
David Spoon:Right.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:I know you're thinking, but you're just going to have to bear with me.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:But if you have anything going on that the Lord has blessed you in a grace and what we call people are like, well, that's like a small thing.
David Spoon:It's like, fine.
David Spoon:Call it a gracelet, a grace.
David Spoon:That's like a small bracelet of grace that you put on your wrist.
David Spoon:The idea behind that is to acknowledge everything.
David Spoon:Remember, Eva, every victory acknowledged.
David Spoon:That doesn't mean every big victory.
David Spoon:It means every victory.
David Spoon:And you want to do that.
David Spoon:You want to share it because it honors God first and foremost.
David Spoon:It blesses others and it fortifies, it strengthens it in your own life.
David Spoon:So there you go.
David Spoon:Four praise reports.
David Spoon:You got a prayer request.
David Spoon:We're going to pray in just a second.
David Spoon:Jeff's friend Neil is going through some struggles.
David Spoon:We're gonna pray for him in just a minute.
David Spoon:But if you've got something you wanna pray for, you are welcome to call the show, or you're welcome to text the show, or you're welcome to send an email and we'll pray for you.
David Spoon:Sometimes we get those requests in after the show.
David Spoon:We still pray for you.
David Spoon:Still people praying for you.
David Spoon:We're not gonna stop doing that.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:Sometimes we do it on the show, sometimes we don't.
David Spoon:But we are committed to carrying one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.
David Spoon:That's our commitment.
David Spoon:That's what we want to do.
David Spoon:Because you want to know why?
David Spoon:That's what Jesus wants us to do.
David Spoon:That's why.
David Spoon:It's just that simple.
David Spoon:There's nothing.
David Spoon:I'm nothing else to it.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:Additionally, maybe you got something you want to share.
David Spoon:Maybe you got a scripture.
David Spoon:Maybe get some on your mind, your heart.
David Spoon:That's cool.
David Spoon:And we're going to do trivia, because trivia is a lot of fun.
David Spoon:Before we do any of that stuff, I want to pray for Neil, who's Jeff's friend.
David Spoon:And I want you to take your faith and I want you to stretch it with my faith, so to speak.
David Spoon:And then let's ask the Lord for his friends to help his friend.
David Spoon:Let's do it.
David Spoon:Father, we come before you right now, and there is nobody like you.
David Spoon:I am just so in awe of your graciousness, so in awe of your kindness, even as you manifested it to me today.
David Spoon:I am just so deeply appreciative, Lord.
David Spoon:And Lord, we petition you for Neil.
David Spoon:Neil's having a hard time.
David Spoon:He's having panic attacks, which are very, very scary, Lord.
David Spoon:And there's that sense, an impending sense, and it just overwhelms.
David Spoon:We are asking you to break the power of the panic in Neil's life.
David Spoon:We ask you that instead of him going through that panic attack, there would be a settling, There would be an establishment, a situation where there's the spirit of calm and that the wind and the waves would die down and his insides would not try to be pushing into his outsides, and he would find rest.
David Spoon:Because you offer rest.
David Spoon:And we ask you to bring your healing power into Neil's mind and his body and his emotions and have mercy on him.
David Spoon:We thank you for that.
David Spoon:Jeff's praying for his friend, but we're asking you to bless Neil in this way.
David Spoon:And we have other people, Lord, that are really hurting, struggling, a lot of anxiety.
David Spoon:Lord, we speak peace.
David Spoon:We speak confidence.
David Spoon:We speak trust, we speak fixed vision on you.
David Spoon:So those moments of anxiety don't knock us over.
David Spoon:He told us we don't have to be worried.
David Spoon:We don't have to be afraid.
David Spoon:Help us to operate in your truth and help us to do it in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior.
David Spoon:Amen and amen.
David Spoon:Okay, now here's what we're going to do.
David Spoon:I'm going to share my trivia.
David Spoon:I'm going to share a trivia question.
David Spoon:Then I got to do a little caveat from the earlier teaching.
David Spoon:I forgot one really good line that I wrote, and I forgot to tell you the line.
David Spoon:So I just want to do it because sometimes I'm not that smart.
David Spoon:Okay?
David Spoon:And then I'll share my story, and we'll just see where it goes.
David Spoon:I don't know where it's going to go, but here it is.
David Spoon:Here's your trivia question, Samson.
David Spoon:Actually, no, I'm going to do this one.
David Spoon:No, no.
David Spoon:Samson.
David Spoon:Samson took hold of two middle pillars upon which the temple stood.
David Spoon:This is Samson in Judges 16.
David Spoon:He bowed himself with all his might and the house fell on all the people and all the dignitaries that were there at that situation.
David Spoon:What did Samson say before the pillars were pushed?
David Spoon:What did he say as he was pushing the pillars and as everything came crumbling down?
David Spoon:What did he say?
David Spoon:Judges 16, 29 and 30.
David Spoon:Judges 16, 29 and 30.
David Spoon:What did Samson say as he was pushing the pillars and everybody was fading?
David Spoon:What did Samson say?
David Spoon:If you think you know.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Additionally, you can text.
David Spoon:What?
David Spoon:You can text.
David Spoon:Yes, because the text is working.
David Spoon:Thank you.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Davidmasincrease.org so Samson, okay, had his hands on the two pillars which held up the roof.
David Spoon:People were on the roof and under the roof.
David Spoon:He's pushing them with all his might.
David Spoon:And the house fell on all the dignitaries and all the people that were there.
David Spoon:What did Samson say just before it all fell?
David Spoon:Judges 16, 29 and 30.
David Spoon:I'm not going to say what Al said, but man, that's funny.
David Spoon:I'm just going to tell you that.
David Spoon:All right, now take a deep breath.
David Spoon:I did not add this in my teaching earlier and I really wanted to and I wrote this line.
David Spoon:So I think it's really important for me to share with it or I'm going to be mad at myself.
David Spoon:Remember we were talking about in second John how Paul or John said it's not a new commandment.
David Spoon:I write you right when he says that.
David Spoon:Right.
David Spoon:But then we bring in Jesus new commandment he gave to the disciples.
David Spoon:The reason that John was saying it was not a new commandment was because it was 60 years ago that Jesus gave that commandment.
David Spoon:And I forgot to bring that up.
David Spoon:And I thought that was a really good point.
David Spoon:See, for John, it wasn't a new commandment.
David Spoon:He heard it 60 years ago.
David Spoon:All right, that's just for me.
David Spoon:I had to say it because I had to get it out of my system.
David Spoon:All right, leave that.
David Spoon:I'm going to do this.
David Spoon:This is going to be a major mind blower.
David Spoon:For some of you.
David Spoon:So Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the temple stood.
David Spoon:He bowed himself with all his might, and the house fell upon the dignitaries and all the people.
David Spoon:What did Samson say just before that happened?
David Spoon:If you think, you know, reach out to us.
David Spoon:And now I'm going to tell you this unbelievable, bizarre story.
David Spoon:And I know you're going to think I'm crazy, but that's.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Ready?
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:We.
David Spoon:I had to get a new phone, and as you know, if you listen to the show yesterday, I was not getting texts.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:So we do have somebody calling in, so I might give them an opportunity to share because this story is.
David Spoon:It's really going to.
David Spoon:I might take a good 10 minutes on this story.
David Spoon:I'm not kidding.
David Spoon:So let's just see if they have an answer to trivia.
David Spoon:Do they have an answer to trivia?
David Spoon:Okay, you know what?
David Spoon:Let's take the trivia question and answer and do that first.
David Spoon:Let's send them on through.
David Spoon:Knock, knock.
David Spoon:This is David.
David Spoon:Who am I talking to?
John:Hey, David.
John:This is John.
David Spoon:Hi, John.
David Spoon:How are you?
John:Okay.
David Spoon:It's good to hear your voice, my brother.
David Spoon:It's always good to hear your voice.
David Spoon:I love it when you call in.
John:Thanks.
David Spoon:One of my favorite things that ever happened on this show was the thing about the kid sneezing in his face.
David Spoon:I find that to be one of the funniest things ever.
David Spoon:I was like, wow, that's great.
John:I don't know what I was thinking.
David Spoon:That was pretty good, though.
David Spoon:Dude, that's right up there with.
David Spoon:You could take that on an act and do that on a comedy show.
David Spoon:That was funny.
David Spoon:Hi, my brother.
David Spoon:Let me set it up for you.
David Spoon:Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the temple stood.
David Spoon:He bowed himself with all his might.
David Spoon:The house fell on the dignitaries and all the people that were therein.
David Spoon:What did he say before the house fell?
John:Well, I may not have all of it, but I know he said, remember me.
David Spoon:That is part of it.
David Spoon:And then what else did he wanted to do?
David Spoon:He wanted to.
David Spoon:He wanted to what?
John:Revenge.
David Spoon:He did want that out of his eyes or something.
David Spoon:That's good.
David Spoon:But he did want that revenge.
David Spoon:But he wanted this to happen because they had done that to him.
David Spoon:And so he just said, you know what?
David Spoon:They're all going to die, so let me.
David Spoon:What?
John:Oh, die with him.
David Spoon:That is correct.
David Spoon:Amendo, though.
David Spoon:That's it.
John:Oh, okay.
David Spoon:That was it.
David Spoon:See, why I wanted you to catch that is because, Sam, he already knew it was over.
David Spoon:And nothing was happening.
David Spoon:So he said, let me die with the Philistines, right?
David Spoon:He just wanted it.
David Spoon:Okay, I want my revenge, so to speak.
David Spoon:I want my vengeance.
David Spoon:I want this to take place.
David Spoon:I want to be remembered.
David Spoon:Let me die with them.
David Spoon:And we'll just take this whole thing done.
David Spoon:We'll be done.
David Spoon:And he killed more people in that one act as a judge than he killed all combined together.
John:There must have been thousands, I guess.
David Spoon:Thousands upon thousands.
David Spoon:And it's funny because we keep thinking it's a.
David Spoon:It's a little bit here, a little bit here.
David Spoon:Sometimes the Lord has you do one thing at one moment.
David Spoon:That's the big deal.
David Spoon:And it's like, that's how it goes.
David Spoon:Wow, that fascinating.
John:You know, the little boy who was leading him to the pillars, I thought, did he get away?
John:You know, I mean, I don't know.
David Spoon:I don't know.
David Spoon:That's a great.
David Spoon:Well, you have really good.
David Spoon:Really thoughtful question.
David Spoon:I don't know if it got away.
John:It doesn't say that.
David Spoon:You know, doesn't say.
David Spoon:Right.
John:Get away before I do something.
John:I don't know.
David Spoon:Yeah, no, somebody had to get away because they had to write it.
David Spoon:So, I mean, somebody got away, but I mean, it's just like, wow.
David Spoon:Amazing.
David Spoon:Amazing stuff.
David Spoon:Excellent, though.
David Spoon:That's exactly the tract.
David Spoon:How you doing otherwise, brother?
John:Oh, okay, okay.
John:I thought I'd just grab a quick bite, listen to you, and get off to work in just a few minutes.
David Spoon:Well, you make sure that at work you remember two things.
David Spoon:The Lord loves you and is your partner at work.
David Spoon:And number two, that work won't last forever.
David Spoon:Right.
John:Good to hear from you or good to talk to you, I guess.
David Spoon:Yeah, no, it's good to hear from you and it is good to talk to you.
David Spoon:I love it when you call in, so I want you to know that.
David Spoon:Okay.
John:All right.
John:Thanks, brother.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:God bless you, bro.
John:Bless you, too.
John:Bye.
David Spoon:Bye.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:So we're not going to break.
David Spoon:You have no chance.
David Spoon:If you miss this, it's your fault.
David Spoon:I'm just telling you right now.
David Spoon:We'll break after I tell the story, but I don't know how long the story going to go.
David Spoon:So for many of you who are listening, yesterday, you know that I had to get a new phone, and the phone wasn't exactly working, and so texts weren't coming in.
David Spoon:And it's like, that's not a big deal because usually when you take your number or when you take your stuff and transfer it to a new phone, it usually takes about 24 hours, which I didn't have a problem with.
David Spoon:That's fine, except for when we first transferred it.
David Spoon:It all worked right away.
David Spoon:And that stopped working.
David Spoon:So I was like, that was a little more disappointing.
David Spoon:So this morning, Noel got up about 5.
David Spoon:She got about 5:30, meh, about 5:00.
David Spoon:I got up about 5:30.
David Spoon:And so I started getting all my stuff together because I knew I was going to call the company that I dealing with and try and figure out what's going on with the phone.
David Spoon:Because it turned out not only was I not getting texts, but when I was sending a text, it was using the assigned number the company gave me and not the number that I brought over with me.
David Spoon:So instead of getting my normal number for people that know me, they were getting a completely foreign number.
David Spoon:And I was like, wow, what's going on there?
David Spoon:I'm sending my text and they're like, who is this?
David Spoon:And it's like, I've been testing these people for 10 years.
David Spoon:It's like, wow, that's weird.
David Spoon:So I called the company up, okay?
David Spoon:And this very nice gal named Raven, that's her name, we started talking and we were talking about the tech and she was.
David Spoon:And so it took quite a bit of time because we had to do an update on the phone and different things like that.
David Spoon:Just to give you an idea, we got into such a conversation.
David Spoon:We started talking about what her longest phone call was as a tech person.
David Spoon:And she was telling me two hours was my longest call.
David Spoon:Just so you can know.
David Spoon:She was with me a little over two hours combined in all the time.
David Spoon:So you should think that's kind of funny.
David Spoon:So we're going through these different elements, we're going through these different things.
David Spoon:And I keep saying she'll say, what is the phone saying?
David Spoon:I said, well, it reads this way.
David Spoon:And she goes huh?
David Spoon:And she goes, what about this?
David Spoon:It reads this.
David Spoon:She goes, huh.
David Spoon:So she went to the tech, the tech guru, tech for the entire company.
David Spoon:And they're talking back and forth and she comes back to the phone and talks to me.
David Spoon:So she's like, she's a tech person, but she's using the expert tech to help her find out what's going on.
David Spoon:Because she's getting not discouraged, she's just mystified.
David Spoon:She's like, what's going on?
David Spoon:So while we're talking, I'm not even kidding, if you know me at all, this is my worst area of life.
David Spoon:Tech.
David Spoon:And waiting on tech is the.
David Spoon:Noel calls me Magneto because anytime I get involved with tech, I destroy it.
David Spoon:That's what's going on.
David Spoon:For whatever weird and so bizarre reason the Lord, and I'm telling you it wasn't me, gave me this exceedingly large, abundant gift of patience.
David Spoon:And I'm encouraging her as she's getting discouraged as the tech person, which again, I've never done that before in my 46 years of being a Christian ever.
David Spoon:So I'm just telling you right now.
David Spoon:And I know as it's happening, something weird is going on right here.
David Spoon:Something bizarre is not.
David Spoon:This is not the normal sink.
David Spoon:So we would talk and then she would have me restart the phone and she'd call me back.
David Spoon:And we did this from 6:30.
David Spoon:Let me just give you an idea.
David Spoon:Till 9, 6 in the morning.
David Spoon:Till 9.
David Spoon:I'm not kidding you.
David Spoon:She got in at 7:30 in Tampa.
David Spoon:She's in Florida.
David Spoon:Right.
David Spoon:6:30 our time, left the message, they called me back.
David Spoon:So we've been doing it back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.
David Spoon:And I just can't figure it out because normally by now I would have thrown the phone, I would have started building, you know, wood campfires and I would have done smoke signals.
David Spoon:I'd been quit, I'd been done.
David Spoon:You just don't know me.
Jamming Jacob:You would have thrown it away and said, oh, whatever, I'll just live like a caveman.
David Spoon:I would have started taking string and start putting string in all places and get a can and just hope it works.
David Spoon:I mean, that was.
David Spoon:So this is going on now.
David Spoon:I'm not kidding you at all.
David Spoon:So while I'm having these back and forths, you know, I look up a couple things on the Internet because I'm just like, I just like, there's got to be something somewhere.
David Spoon:And so I come across a few of these different things and none of them are consistent.
David Spoon:So she's thinking that we're going to have to hard reset the phone.
David Spoon:That's going to take another 45 minutes.
David Spoon:Not just a regular reset, a full hard reset complete.
David Spoon:You have to reinstall everything on the phone, Everything.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:I said, well, before I do any of that, I have a 45 minute meeting that I have to get to.
David Spoon:And she goes, well, that's good because I have a fire drill that I have to go to.
David Spoon:I'm not kidding.
David Spoon:I'm telling you exactly what happened.
David Spoon:And she says, that's perfect time.
David Spoon:I said, all right, well you go do what you got to do.
David Spoon:I'll do what I got to do and then call me back.
David Spoon:Well, my 45 minute meeting was my Bible reading, okay?
David Spoon:So I was reading Philippians, chapter 2, verse 25, 31 through 7.
David Spoon:I did my Bible reading and it was just phenomenal.
David Spoon:I mean, it was just great, great.
David Spoon:And I probably should have done my Bible reading earlier, but the Bible reading helped my spirit and everything.
David Spoon:And then I had this thought from some of the stuff I read and some of stuff that she said, and I thought I'd try it.
David Spoon:So she calls me back, right?
David Spoon:I'm telling you.
David Spoon:And so we're talking and I said, how was the fire drill?
David Spoon:She was like, really long.
David Spoon:She goes, it was really long.
David Spoon:And she said, she goes, it's amazing.
David Spoon:You're just being so nice about everything.
David Spoon:And she kept, you know, she was amazed.
David Spoon:And don't kid yourself, I was amazed that I was being nice.
David Spoon:I'm telling you, this is not me.
David Spoon:Then I told her what I was doing during the 45 minutes and I told her I've been doing it for 27 years.
David Spoon:I spent, you know, I spent an hour with the Lord every day.
David Spoon:And she's just like, you can just tell she's soaking it in and she's just like, wow.
David Spoon:You can tell that it's just making this impression now before you think she got saved?
David Spoon:She didn't get saved.
David Spoon:Slow down.
David Spoon:She is in Target, though.
David Spoon:I'll just say that she's from one place where not a chance to.
David Spoon:She's in a whole nother place now while I'm talking to her, I said, I want to try this one thing.
David Spoon:And I absolutely believe it was the Lord that gave me this.
David Spoon:And so I tried it.
David Spoon:And what I did was I stalled the app.
David Spoon:I'm not going to tell you exactly what I did.
David Spoon:I cleared the cache, I undid the app update, then I went back in and did an update on the app and it worked.
David Spoon:And so I told her what I did and she was freaking.
David Spoon:She's like, what do you mean it worked so we didn't have to do the phone update.
David Spoon:And I just said, well, I really get the impression I should do this.
David Spoon:And she's writing it down so they can use it for the company.
David Spoon:I'm not just so bizarre.
David Spoon:And we're talking and I was like, yeah, I just think God was giving grace.
David Spoon:And here are the numbers there.
David Spoon:And then I text a bunch of people, is this my number?
David Spoon:It's like, yeah, it's your number, it's your number.
David Spoon:It's like, wow.
David Spoon:And it was the Lord.
David Spoon:I'm not Kidding.
David Spoon:It was the Lord that just gave me this grace and she had.
David Spoon:It was so impressive upon her that she sent me a text afterwards and she's like, wow.
David Spoon:And she's amazed.
David Spoon:And I'm telling you, when you and I function in this DNA and we talk about DNA and I'm going to bring this into it and this way we're not going to do the DNA, but you know, the d.
David Spoon:Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David Spoon:A always be ready to serve.
David Spoon:I'm telling you, just being there, receiving end of a tech call, you can be serving God.
David Spoon:You just don't think of that.
David Spoon:Who would think that?
David Spoon:And let me explain something to you.
David Spoon:I don't think that it's just something God wanted to do.
David Spoon:I doubt it will ever happen again.
David Spoon:I would be very surprised.
David Spoon:But this spending time with God, draw closer to the Lord spent 45 minutes in his word and never being ashamed that you're doing that.
David Spoon:I was spending time with the Lord, reading His word.
David Spoon:God created the universe.
David Spoon:The dude can write a book.
David Spoon:And then being willing to be kind and a blessing and a vessel, which normally I wouldn't do those things.
David Spoon:And I'm trying to tell you this was out of me and having it make an impact.
David Spoon:I knew as soon as it happened this is the Lord making an impression on her.
David Spoon:And I got stalled on a phone for a couple of hours so God could say hello to this girl named Raven.
David Spoon:What will happen from here, I have no idea.
David Spoon:I'm not in charge of any of it, but God is in charge of it.
David Spoon:And when we're dealing with people and interacting with people in business, in life, the idea that you can be a vessel is absolutely true.
David Spoon:I want you to get.
David Spoon:I just, I'm pleading with you to get past this notion that you can't do it or you're not able to.
David Spoon:None of it was pre, you know, thought of prior.
David Spoon:And in fact, my first DDD said, for this says 2 Corinthians 4, 1.
David Spoon:Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not give up.
David Spoon:We've all received mercy.
David Spoon:And because of this mercy, we never give up.
David Spoon:And we all have a ministry.
David Spoon:It may not be in front of 500 people.
David Spoon:It may be just talking to one person one time, I don't know.
David Spoon:But you are a minister.
David Spoon:You think I want that?
David Spoon:You're more out there.
David Spoon:You have that out there personality.
David Spoon:My out there personality.
David Spoon:If my wife was in the room while this was happening, she she would have had.
David Spoon:I'd have to call the hospital.
David Spoon:She would have freaked out because I was being nice.
David Spoon:And past 15 minutes on a phone, which is really good, you have a ministry and no matter what you're doing or where you're going, you need to make yourself available to the Lord.
David Spoon:And maybe nothing will happen.
David Spoon:And maybe it'll be a tech call or maybe it'll be somebody stopping by and trying to sell something.
David Spoon:And you just say to them, as you say yes or no or whatever, just say, hey, the Lord bless you.
David Spoon:I mean, you don't know.
David Spoon:But to be available, to be ready, to be ready to serve.
David Spoon:This draw closer to the Lord element is the most important thing because it then produces the ability not to be ashamed of His Word and to always be ready to serve.
David Spoon:And you're a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
David Spoon:Sorry that you don't have a special microphone, sorry you don't have a special suit, but the Holy Spirit lives inside of you and you are here now for purpose.
David Spoon:So not that you're always going to do something, but you have to be ready because it could be as something as weird as a tech call that God wants to use you in.
David Spoon:You get that?
David Spoon:So knowing that we've done our DNA d draw closer to the Lord daily, which led to never being ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David Spoon:God, I'd share with her.
David Spoon:And this being willing to serve and to share, and that's what the Lord wanted.
David Spoon:I don't always get that right, folks.
David Spoon:But today when I hung up the phone with her, I just looked up to heaven and said, number one, thank you for that encounter.
David Spoon:And number two, thank you for fixing my phone.
David Spoon:You think I am kidding?
David Spoon:I was so happy when I was praying.
David Spoon:It was unbelievable wits.
David Spoon:That is one of my sayings, by the way.
David Spoon:Not just unbelievable, unbelievable wits.
David Spoon:That is because I am Yiddish.
David Spoon:Anyway, listen, you are a minister.
David Spoon:Draw closer to the Lord.
David Spoon:Never be ashamed of his Word and be ready to serve.
David Spoon:That is what the Lord wants.
David Spoon:Okay, we will take our break here and then we will come back.
David Spoon:You are listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 7, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Short break, we'll be back.
Jennifer:Hey there.
Jennifer:It's amazing Jennifer.
Jennifer:And I am helping out the David Spoon Experience.
Jennifer:As you may know, I basically run the KAAM radio station.
David Spoon:Amazing.
Jennifer:And Dr.
Jennifer:Dabe is looking for a few good people to join and become representatives, ambassadors and stewards of this here radio ministry.
Jennifer:Now, you may be thinking, well, I'd love to get Involved.
Jennifer:But I'm not very qualified for ministerial positions.
Jennifer:Well, the truth is that because you are a child of our Heavenly Father, that you trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and you seek to live by the power of the Holy Spirit, you have all you need to be a part of this ministry.
Jennifer:But Jennifer, don't I need to be perfect?
Jennifer:No, just go to hemustincrease.org that's he must increase.org click on the three lines at the top right of the website and then click on the Ambassador's initiative link.

Contest Announcer:And you can be the first person in your neighborhood to win.
David Spoon:What is it?
Contest Announcer:It's a contest.
David Spoon:How do I play?
Contest Announcer:It's simple.

Contest Announcer:It's incredible.
Contest Announcer:It's unbelievable.
Contest Announcer:But it's only for a limited time.
Contest Announcer:Enter.
Contest Announcer:Now here's a taste.
Contest Announcer:Thank you for listening to the David Spoon Experience.
Jennifer:The David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Bottom line is what I'm about to share with you does not, does not, does not, does not mean that churches are bad.
David Spoon:There are a multitude of great churches.
David Spoon:Jesus had an address to seven churches in the book of Revelation, right?
David Spoon:Multiple of those churches were excellent.
David Spoon:Everybody had something they can improve on, change, grow in.
David Spoon:Only two of those churches were super, super bad.
David Spoon:The idea behind that is never take.
David Spoon:What I'm about to share is how the church is at large.
David Spoon:This is no indictment on the church of God, the Bride of Christ.
David Spoon:Never, never, never think of the church that way.
David Spoon:The Lord God Almighty loves the church.
David Spoon:If you don't love what God loves, if you don't love who God loves, that's a whole separate issue that you have to deal with.
David Spoon:You understand that?
David Spoon:And if you can't shout sight, you'll have to face a penalty.
David Spoon:And as with every.
David Spoon:Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the truce station here in Texas.
David Spoon:That's Kaaman 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Here's your next trivia question.
David Spoon:True or false?
David Spoon:Joseph had two sons and their names were Manasseh and Ephraim.
David Spoon:True OR FALSE?
David Spoon:Genesis 48:1 Joseph had two sons and their names were Manasseh and Ephraim.
David Spoon:True or false?
David Spoon:Genesis 48.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon:I hope that didn't come off trying to be bragging or anything like that.
David Spoon:I'm telling you it was more to my amazement than anything else because I'm super bad at those things.
David Spoon:And it was just this one moment that God poured the grace and the patience on.
David Spoon:And I don't know, I just believe the Lord just did that.
David Spoon:And normally I would not be the vessel for that.
David Spoon:That's a really nice way of saying that.
David Spoon:I hope you caught what I was trying to say just there.
David Spoon:In the meantime, I am going to send you up to the website.
David Spoon:And the website has lots of cool stuff on there.
David Spoon:But we are still it's always the same thing in ministry.
David Spoon:We exist by the donations and I love it when people give.
David Spoon:But then we always have more that we're putting out later.
David Spoon:And it's not a never ending, it's just never ending.
David Spoon:And so if you're able to give, that's great.
David Spoon:If you're not, do not worry about it.
David Spoon:Do not have even a second thought.
David Spoon:We just ask you, hey, do us a favor and pray.
David Spoon:Pray for us.
David Spoon:Pray with us and ask the Lord to keep that opportunity going for us.
David Spoon:And even pray that you'll get in the position of the Lord.
David Spoon:Maybe they'll bless you.
David Spoon:You can give great, great, great.
David Spoon:We don't have any problem with that.
David Spoon:I don't have anything.
David Spoon:I just don't like asking for money.
David Spoon:But God commands it within the framework of scripture.
David Spoon:So I do it.
David Spoon:Just like I am getting into the kingdom sometimes whining and complaining.
David Spoon:That's all I can say.
David Spoon:If you're able to give, that's great.
David Spoon:Besides that, on the website there is a ton of great stuff.
David Spoon:If you've never been there, check it out.
David Spoon:Check out hemustincrease.org Prayer request Hemust Praise report He must increase.org Looking to give to this ministry.
David Spoon:He must increase.org Confused by what's happening right now.
David Spoon:He must increase.org he must increase.org hey, Doc, we better back up.
Contest Announcer:We don't have enough road to get up to 88.
David Spoon:Roads.
David Spoon:Where we're going, we don't need roads.
David Spoon:That's right.
David Spoon:Where we're going, we don't need roads because our roads will be gold anyway.
David Spoon:We do have somebody that wants to answer the trivia question.
David Spoon:And so we are going to send them on through.
David Spoon:Knock, knock.
David Spoon:This is David.
David Spoon:Who am I talking to?
Samson:Hey, Shabbat shalom, David.
Samson:This is Samson.
David Spoon:Hey, Samson.
David Spoon:How are you?
David Spoon:Good, Good.
David Spoon:All right, you ready for the trivia question?
Samson:Yes, sir.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:I just feel strongly you're going to get this.
David Spoon:True or false?
David Spoon:Joseph had two sons, and their names were Manasseh and Ephraim.
David Spoon:True or false?
Samson:Well, it is true.
David Spoon:It is true.
David Spoon:That is correct.
David Spoon:That's right.
David Spoon:Manasseh and Ephraim are part of the clan.
David Spoon:Genesis 48.
David Spoon:1.
David Spoon:That is true.
David Spoon:Very, very good job, brother.
David Spoon:Very good job.
David Spoon:How are things going?
Samson:Things are going okay.
David Spoon:Things are better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, that's for sure.
David Spoon:Oh, that's classic.
David Spoon:All right, my brother, what can we pray for you about?
Samson:Pray for my sister.
Samson:She just arrived to visit us for a bereavement visit, but she's having some, like, an upset stomach, basically diarrhea.
Samson:So just pray that God will restore her and give her the strength and the rest that she needed while she's here with us.
David Spoon:Okay, let's pray.
David Spoon:Let's do it.
David Spoon:Father, we come before you right now.
David Spoon:We thank you for Samson, and we ask you to bless their family as they're meeting.
David Spoon:And, Lord, they've been through a lot.
David Spoon:And because they've gone through a lot, there's a lot of stress that's probably unspoken underneath.
David Spoon:And most people get that feeling, Lord, that, you know, there's.
David Spoon:You got to be careful what everybody says.
David Spoon:You don't want to say anything out of sorts.
David Spoon:At the same time, you want to love each other, support each other, help each other.
David Spoon:But there's wound and there's pain in what's been going on.
David Spoon:So we are asking that you would help Samson's sister to have a real sense of calm and comfort.
David Spoon:I think, even past the calm, Lord, I would say the comfort.
David Spoon:Because as I think about it, she needs you to hug her and put your arms around her and have her get that sense of confidence and let the family be able to strengthen one another and bless one another so that their time and their visit would be effective and productive and a blessing for each of them with.
David Spoon:We pray that you would help this family, guard this family, protect this family, and pour your love into this family that they might enjoy your graces even right now.
David Spoon:Give Samson strong courage, strong confidence in your grace and mercy.
David Spoon:We pray this in Jesus name, Amen and amen.
Samson:Amen.
Samson:Thank you, David.
David Spoon:You are welcome, my brother, and God bless you, and you have an excellent weekend.
David Spoon:Okay?
Samson:Shabbat shalom to everyone.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Thank you, bro.
Samson:Okay, bye.
David Spoon:Bye.
David Spoon:Bye.
David Spoon:Bye.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:So.
David Spoon:And again, just keep praying for one another.
David Spoon:That's what we do, right?
David Spoon:Yep.
David Spoon:Okay, ready?
David Spoon:I love this.
David Spoon:This teaching is so good.
David Spoon:Okay, we're gonna do this teaching.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:All right, Here we go.
David Spoon:Second Corinthians, chapter 5, 1 through 5, says this.
David Spoon:For we know that in our earthly house, for we know that if our earthly house, a tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands eternal in the heavens.
David Spoon:And in fact, we groan in this one, longing to put on our house from heaven, since when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.
David Spoon:Indeed, we who are in this tent groan, burdened as we are, because we do not want to be unclothed, but clothed, so that mortality may be swallowed up by life.
David Spoon:And the one who prepared us for this very thing is God, who gave us the Holy Spirit as a down payment.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:The two big things in this that come from that.
David Spoon:I mean, there's so many things, so I shouldn't say that, but two things that I pull out of this is that talks about in the body we're in now, we groan.
David Spoon:In the tent we're in now, we groan.
David Spoon:There's groaning.
David Spoon:I mean, I don't want to say that in a mean way.
David Spoon:There's groaning.
David Spoon:We are not where we want to be.
David Spoon:I don't find that bizarre at all.
David Spoon:We are.
David Spoon:You know when people are like, yeah.
David Spoon:Do you ever feel like you don't belong?
David Spoon:Yeah, every five seconds, I'm thinking, I'm still on Earth and not in heaven with God.
David Spoon:I'm feeling like I don't belong.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:And it's like here in Second Corinthians 5, you find out that's part of Scripture.
David Spoon:That's part of it.
David Spoon:In Hebrews, chapter 11, it talks about them not wanting to make their plant, not wanting to make their home on earth, but they're looking for a city whose builder and maker is God.
David Spoon:We groan.
David Spoon:We're Looking for something that's different.
David Spoon:We're looking for something that's better.
David Spoon:There's nothing bizarre about that.
David Spoon:That's what we want.
David Spoon:We don't want to be a citizen of this worldly world.
David Spoon:We want to be a citizen of heaven and the new heavens and the new earth.
David Spoon:That's what we want.
David Spoon:So while we're going through that, there's some moments where it's like, yikes.
David Spoon:And every one of us goes through this.
David Spoon:Every person who's a genuine Bible believing, born again Christian is like, not only is this not everything, I want the everything, I want this temporal thing to be done.
David Spoon:And that's what Paul's talking about, about how our current body is a tent.
David Spoon:The reason he uses the word tent is because I don't know if you know this or not, but a tent, you put the tent up, you put the tent down.
David Spoon:A tent doesn't typically last forever and ever, right?
David Spoon:It's kind of a short term housing unit.
David Spoon:Ooh, that's a good, A tent as a short term housing unit.
David Spoon:And so we're groaning and it's like, no, we don't want this.
David Spoon:And so we want what's coming, we want what's next.
David Spoon:But what Paul says under the leading of the Holy Spirit is God is the one who's prepared us for this thing.
David Spoon:In other words, inside of you that need to have it be different.
David Spoon:In other words, let me rephrase it.
David Spoon:The reality that this is not it.
David Spoon:God's the one that has prepared you so that you know that you know it's not it.
David Spoon:You know this is, this is not only is this not it, this is the short side of all of it.
David Spoon:This is the little part of the stick, not the good part.
David Spoon:And then he says this in verse 5.
David Spoon:The one who prepared us for this very thing is God, who gave us the Holy Spirit as a down payment.
David Spoon:So let's get something straight.
David Spoon:Typically when you buy a, make some kind of purchase in general, the general rule, you will put a down payment on it, whether it's real estate for earnest deposit, whether it's a car, whether it's furniture, whatever the case may be, you'll make some kind of payment for a big, a big, a bigger purchase.
David Spoon:You'll put some kind of down payment.
David Spoon:God has put a down payment on you.
David Spoon:I, you just gotta catch this.
David Spoon:You have to, have to, have to, have to catch this.
David Spoon:God put a down payment on you.
David Spoon:Is that just incredible?
David Spoon:See, he purchased you through the blood of Jesus.
David Spoon:Then he put a Down payment on you by putting the Holy Spirit inside you and the Holy Spirit inside you is the proof of the purchase.
David Spoon:Think about that.
David Spoon:That's the proof.
David Spoon:The word of God makes it absolutely clear.
David Spoon:Our plumb line, our rule, our bottom line.
David Spoon:Spirit led, but Bible grounded makes it clear that the Holy Spirit inside of us.
David Spoon:That's the down payment that God paid for you and for me to guarantee the completion of the purchase.
David Spoon:Just think of it in those terms, like, whoa, right?
David Spoon:Whoa is right.
David Spoon:God paid for you, put it down.
David Spoon:Payment for you will complete the purchase in his perfect time, but your ownership is steadfast.
David Spoon:No returns.
David Spoon:Get it?
David Spoon:Cool.
David Spoon:All right, we'll take a break and then come back.
David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Short break, we'll be back.
David Spoon:Don't go anywhere.
Narrator:What is the David Spoon Experience?
David Spoon:And God's like, there's no room there.
David Spoon:It's like, well, no, no, no.
David Spoon:I can, you know, not vote for either kingdom.
David Spoon:Well, let me get this straight.
David Spoon:You're not voting for the kingdom of God, therefore you're also trying to be a supporter of the kingdom of darkness.
David Spoon:How does that work?
David Spoon:That doesn't work.
David Spoon:And in lieu of that, you know, I had a discussion with my son.
David Spoon:We were talking about preparation and being ready.
David Spoon:Because you never know when the Lord.
David Spoon:You don't know when that trumpet's going to blow for you.
David Spoon:You don't know at that moment where God's going to go ding dong, time's up.
David Spoon:And I said, you always got to be ready.
David Spoon:He said, well, you can't always be ready.
David Spoon:It's like, no, you always got to be ready.
David Spoon:Matthew, chapter 24, verse 42.
David Spoon:Be ready, always be ready.
David Spoon:For you do not know the day that the Lord will come.
David Spoon:And that's not just from an eschatological point of view for life.
David Spoon:That's for you individually.
David Spoon:You got to be ready and watchful and aware because this is kingdom stuff.
David Spoon:And there's a kingdom being built to glorify God and there's all the opposing kingdoms.
David Spoon:And it's a pretty straightforward question, which kingdom are you trying to support?
David Spoon:That's the question.
David Spoon:And if you say, well, I'm not supporting any kingdom, then you are opposed to the kingdom of God because you are either helping advance his kingdom or you're in opposition.
David Spoon:And that's where Jesus split the line.
David Spoon:And you think, well, that, that doesn't seem fair.
David Spoon:We have a great word around this show that we like to use every once in a while, but with tons of love, tough.
David Spoon:It's like it's not whether you think it's fair or not, you know?
David Spoon:Well, I don't think God, a God of love, would do it this way or this way.
David Spoon:Too bad.
David Spoon:What you think you're not God?
David Spoon:That's not up to you.
David Spoon:Well, that's just what the Bible says.
David Spoon:Let me get this straight.
David Spoon:So you believe that God can create the universe, but he can't write a book?
David Spoon:Boy, that argument is going to get lost every single time.
David Spoon:So my whole point in bringing this up is it's not a contradiction at all.
David Spoon:You're either four in Luke 9, 49 and 50, you're either for the kingdom, advancing the kingdom, driving out demons in the name of Jesus Christ, trying to make declaration for the truth of God, or you're against the kingdom.
David Spoon:Whether you are verbally, physically against it, or whether you are verbally and physically doing nothing, there is no neutral.
David Spoon:You're either a kingdom advancer or you're against the kingdom.
David Spoon:And what's really hard, are you ready for your noodle to get baked?
David Spoon:Here is the decisions that we make advance kingdoms.
David Spoon:Do we consider our decisions before we make these decisions?
David Spoon:Do we consider what kingdom we're impacting?
David Spoon:Wow.
David Spoon:Isn't that tough?
Narrator:The David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:That's KAAM N770, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:One more trivia question, two jokes and then one final teaching.
David Spoon:Please keep in mind I will not be texting anybody till after four.
David Spoon:Okay?
David Spoon:Just letting you know, that's kind of our new little thing for us.
David Spoon:Here's your trivia question.
David Spoon:You should be able to get this one.
David Spoon:Naomi had two sons.
David Spoon:One of the names of the wife of one was Ruth.
David Spoon:What was the name of the other son's wife?
David Spoon:Ruth.
David Spoon:Chapter one, verse three and four.
David Spoon:So Naomi, she had two sons and the two sons had two wives.
David Spoon:One of the wives names was Ruth.
David Spoon:The book of Ruth.
David Spoon:What was the other wife's name?
David Spoon:Ruth.
David Spoon:Chapter one versus three and four.
David Spoon:If you think you know the answer.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:David.
David Spoon:So it's pretty straightforward.
David Spoon:Naomi had two sons and they Each had a wife.
David Spoon:One of the wives names.
David Spoon:One of the wife's names was Ruth.
David Spoon:What was the other wife's name?
David Spoon:Ruth.
David Spoon:Chapter one, verses three and four.
David Spoon:If you think you know the answer, that's a pretty good question, actually.
David Spoon:I kind of like that because it's like, ooh, that's kind of approaching it a little differently.
David Spoon:All right?
David Spoon:And we're going to kind of speed it up just because we have to.
David Spoon:So I think what we'll do is we'll go ahead and take the call, and then we'll do the jokes and then the final teaching.
David Spoon:So try and get to it if you can.
David Spoon:If you got the answer, send it in.
David Spoon:But I can't.
David Spoon:Wait, wait, wait.
David Spoon:So you have to do the best you can.
David Spoon:And we'll send that person through.
David Spoon:So let's go ahead and do that.
David Spoon:Knock, knock.
David Spoon:This is David.
David Spoon:Who am I talking to?
David Spoon:Hi, David.
David Spoon:I'm.
David Spoon:Excuse me, Dr.
David Spoon:Spoon.
Samson:This is for you.
David Spoon:That's okay, Fred.
David Spoon:You never have to call me Dr.
David Spoon:Spoon.
David Spoon:That's fine.
David Spoon:All right, my brother.
David Spoon:Let me set it up for you.
David Spoon:Okay, here we go.
David Spoon:Naomi had two sons, and they each had a wife.
David Spoon:One of the wives was Ruth.
David Spoon:What was the name of the other wife?
David Spoon:The other one.
David Spoon:Her name would be Oprah.
David Spoon:It is correct.
David Spoon:Amundo.
David Spoon:But let me help on one thing.
David Spoon:It's actually Orpah and Oprah, her actual name.
David Spoon:Her parents even said we named her that, and they had gotten it wrong.
David Spoon:It's actually O R P A H for Orpah, but they thought it was Oprah, and that's how they named her.
David Spoon:That's real.
David Spoon:And people are like, that's not true.
David Spoon:I saw her say it on.
David Spoon:Live, on air.
David Spoon:Of course it's true.
David Spoon:So is that hilarious?
David Spoon:So some people will say Oprah, but it's really.
David Spoon:Or pra.
David Spoon:Orpah.
David Spoon:That was a great question.
David Spoon:A really great question.
David Spoon:Fascinating, though, right?
David Spoon:It's like we rarely cover that.
David Spoon:Absolutely.
David Spoon:How are you doing, by the way?
David Spoon:I'll hang up, Dr.
David Spoon:Spoon.
David Spoon:Have a nice speaker.
David Spoon:Sure.
David Spoon:All right, my brother.
David Spoon:God bless you.
David Spoon:Love you and the Lord, man.
David Spoon:All right, so Fred right there for us.
David Spoon:Keep Fred in prayer.
David Spoon:Fred's got big ministry.
David Spoon:He's just touching into it in different places.
David Spoon:He's already in ministry.
David Spoon:He's just got other ministry.
David Spoon:All right, two quick jokes.
David Spoon:Ready?
David Spoon:You ready?
David Spoon:Sure.
David Spoon:You ready?
David Spoon:Are you feeling good?
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:All right, this one's a little.
David Spoon:The second one's better, but this one's pretty funny.
David Spoon:Sydney is talking To Alan, Sydney said, I must have sneezed 50 times today.
David Spoon:Do you think there's something in the air?
David Spoon:Alan's response?
David Spoon:Yes, your germs.
David Spoon:All right, this was a good one.
David Spoon:Just bear with me.
David Spoon:Ready?
David Spoon:Did you hear what happened to the optometrist?
David Spoon:He fell into his lens grinder and made a spectacle of himself.
David Spoon:There you go.
David Spoon:That's pretty good, right?
David Spoon:All right, here we go.
David Spoon:Last little teach.
David Spoon:You gotta go into your weekend with this.
David Spoon:This will help you.
David Spoon:Second Corinthians 4:17.
David Spoon:And we know.
David Spoon:It's amazing because the theme has been the same.
David Spoon:2 Corinthians 4:17.
David Spoon:For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.
David Spoon:Well, wait.
David Spoon:What?
David Spoon:For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.
David Spoon:Momentary.
David Spoon:That's the same thing as the tense groaning.
David Spoon:It's like it's short.
David Spoon:It's like, well, it doesn't feel short when you were 12, just like Jacob was saying, it didn't feel short then, yet it was when you were 15.
David Spoon:It didn't feel short then, and yet it was now that you're 50.
David Spoon:It doesn't feel short now, and yet it is.
David Spoon:It's your 60.
David Spoon:Doesn't feel short now it is.
David Spoon:70.
David Spoon:Doesn't feel short now it Is.
David Spoon:80.
David Spoon:Doesn't feel short now it is.
David Spoon:It's light.
David Spoon:It's not heavy.
David Spoon:I'll ask Jacob this question real fast.
David Spoon:Jacob, do you know what a bullway is?
David Spoon:Do you know what a bull away?
Jamming Jacob:No.
David Spoon:It's about £2,000.
David Spoon:That's about what a bull away is.
David Spoon:So the idea behind that is.
David Spoon:It's a joke.
David Spoon:See?
David Spoon:Bull away.
David Spoon:How much does a bull away.
David Spoon:See that?
David Spoon:You can use that anytime you want.
David Spoon:A bull away, it means it's.
David Spoon:That's heavy.
David Spoon:Light is where we're at.
David Spoon:Not heavy like that joke.
David Spoon:It's a pretty good one.
David Spoon:So here's the thing.
David Spoon:It's momentarian light now.
David Spoon:Oh, he zapped me on that.
David Spoon:Good for you.
David Spoon:What's coming is eternal and heavy.
David Spoon:That's what you gotta get.
David Spoon:It's short and light now.
David Spoon:It's long and heavy.
David Spoon:Next.
David Spoon:Do you see what he's trying to do?
David Spoon:He's like, look, you can't even put these on the same plane.
David Spoon:What you're going through now is a drag.
David Spoon:I agree.
David Spoon:I groan with you.
David Spoon:But what we're going into makes it highly insignificant.
David Spoon:And that's where we lose, because we don't use that that's where we lose the helmet which is part of our armor.
David Spoon:The hope of what?
David Spoon:What's the helmet?
David Spoon:The hope of salvation.
David Spoon:We're spending eternity helmets.
David Spoon:The hope and the idea behind this is this light feather like short bummer of a mode is going to be wiped out by an absolute eternal heavy duty weight forever response.
David Spoon:And that's what we have to remember because it's easy to forget.
David Spoon:It's easy to use all of our five senses to try and come up with how we endure it all.
David Spoon:But the most important part is the spiritual part because we are going to go, we're doing stuff forever and it's going to be for those of us who are plowing for the kingdom, laying 30, 60 or 100 fold going to be so amazing.
David Spoon:Just going to be awesome.
David Spoon:That is absolutely incomparable.
David Spoon:Isn't that cool?
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:All right, folks, you've been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Taking a 72 and 1 half hour break.
David Spoon:Then we'll come back, more insanity with spinati talk to you.
David Spoon:Then I will lay me down in peace and sleep.
