Shownotes

In this episode I am talking to Nikki Warren about balancing spiritual practices with life more generally when there is often a push and pull of differing priorities within ourselves and from others. We talk about how we have both found ways to maintain boundaries while still being able to enjoy life and others around us. We also talk about where the power lies in your own spiritual practice and who is truly in control of your experience.

We discuss:

  • Nikki's necessary morning and evening routine's as sacred spaces in her day
  • how to manage your self connection practices in a relationship
  • yoga vs yoga therapy
  • How easy it can be to look for a guru in your practices
  • Being in control of your experience
  • Bringing power back into your own practice and life

I hope you enjoy this conversation today. If you would like to hear the next part of the conversation you can subscribe to 'Sacrosanct Secrets' my private podcast and hear me dig even deeper with my guests.

About Nikki:

I began my yoga journey in 2012 with the hopes of gaining enough flexibility to touch my toes. After the first few months of consistent practice, not only did I achieve my goal of reaching my feet, I also slept better at night, felt more relaxed during the day and noticed a bigger gap between stress triggers and my habitual responses.

Yoga has made a significant impact on my physical health, but it has always been the psychological shifts that have most piqued my interest. From this place of curiosity, I pursued 500 hours of Yoga Teacher Training, and an 800 hour Yoga Therapy Training, not to mention a bookshelf full of yogic texts and books that connect the body and mind.

I love connecting the anatomy and physiology of biomedical science, with the energy and philosophy of yoga. It's from this merging of yoga and science that I share balance of western medicine and eastern wisdom to my community. It is my intention is to educate, empower, and inspire each of my clients by providing the tools needed to lead themselves to a better state of health and well-being.
