Get ready to roll up those sleeves because we’re diving deep into the wild world of home moving and smart tech with two extraordinary guests on the Around the House show! First up, we have Wendy Glaister, a moving guru who’s dishing out her top-notch tips for making any relocation feel like a breeze. Ever tried juggling two addresses, two trash services, and a couple of water bills? Wendy’s got the hacks to keep you from losing your marbles when you’re in the midst of the great home shuffle. She’ll share everything from packing strategies that even your cat would approve of, to the best ways to label boxes without going completely bonkers. And let’s be honest, who hasn’t looked at a box and wondered, “Did I pack my favorite mug or my collection of random screws?” But the fun doesn’t stop there! We’re also sitting down with Jim Carroll, a bona fide smart home expert, who’s here to blow our minds with tech that can turn our homes into eco-friendly havens. Think of air quality that’s not just good, but automated! Jim’s going to walk us through the must-haves for keeping our indoor air fresh and fabulous, and we’ll chat about how to balance tech with our daily lives without feeling like we’re living in a sci-fi movie. So get cozy, grab your favorite drink, and prepare for an episode packed with insights that’ll keep your home and your head in tip-top shape!

Speaker A:We have a great around the house show coming up this weekend.
Speaker A:Help us out and subscribe on your favorite podcast player.
Speaker B:Coming up on the first hour of the around the house show, Eric G. And John Dudley sit down with Wendy Glacier and discuss their moving tips.
Speaker C:I didn't, I literally didn't log into Facebook for six years or something because I was like, I know it's going to be a 45 minute process of we just sent a text to two phones ago and what email address and what's the password that email?
Speaker C:I'm like, I forget it and somehow imagine.
Speaker D:But you probably didn't.
Speaker C:But yeah, I mean, no, I didn't and I still, I never use it.
Speaker C:But I needed to get in there to start my instabit account as a business account.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker C:That was the easiest route to go.
Speaker C:So any.
Speaker C:But yeah, standing at the gas station and you put the credit card in, you're like, oh, what zip code was this one from?
Speaker D:You're like, yeah, try it again, Try it again.
Speaker C:Yeah, the other one.
Speaker D:That's.
Speaker D:That I've seen that gets interesting too with that.
Speaker D:And it's just, it's one of those things that just gets wild, is trying to keep track of everything.
Speaker D:It's okay.
Speaker D:Now you have two.
Speaker D:When you're in the middle moving and you're doing the kind of like the slow move like you're doing Wendy, you've got now two trash places, two power, two water, two whatever.
Speaker D:And trying to navigate.
Speaker D:That was interesting as well.
Speaker D:And for me, the hardest was in.
Speaker B:The second hour of the around the house show.
Speaker B:Eric G. Sits down with home automation expert Jim Carroll and discuss how you can make your indoor air quality healthy and automatic.
Speaker E:That's right.
Speaker E:Well, the lighting control, there's like a break even analysis that says we need 10 switches in every house.
Speaker E:Well, it's tough to get 10 light switches in every house if it's homes that you and I live in.
Speaker E:Right?
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker E:People like their kitchens.
Speaker E:Maybe the masks are sweet.
Speaker E:The outdoor lights.
Speaker E:Okay.
Speaker E:Where could five lights.
Speaker D:Okay.
Speaker D:What else do I need?
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker D:And when they're 400 bucks a pop, that becomes a significant investor for the typical homeowner.
Speaker E:That's right.
Speaker E:That's right.
Speaker E:Tough to explain.
Speaker E:I always talk about the wife factor.
Speaker E:My wife's been great because all my homes have always been beta homes.
Speaker E:Right.
Speaker E:So it's, it's what we do.
Speaker E:You spent $500 on what?
Speaker E:We already have 20 light switches.
Speaker E:Yeah, but these were cool.
Speaker E:I had to, I had to get these.
